We recently went for dinner and the food wasn't worth the price. The staff was awful, and we had to wait too long for our food even though it wasn't very busy. I wouldn't be back anytime soon!

We ate here this afternoon. My table companion had the black pudding and I had the 12-hour meat. It was all delicious. Friendly service. We'll definitely be back.

The sign says "open," the website and Google say "11:00." It says it won't open until 12/12:30. Please avoid this business!

We had our wedding at Mattemburgh in the beautiful Winter Garden on September 6, 2025, and it was truly amazing! All our wishes for our special day were fulfilled exactly as we envisioned; the food, the service, and the staff were all fantastic! Well worth a visit! The surroundings are beautiful. So first take a walk, then enjoy a meal and/or coffee or tea in the Orangerie.

A beautiful location, and especially lovely sitting in the courtyard. However, there's constant noise from the highway. Friendly staff, fast service. It's a shame that such a beautiful location and walking area is closed on both Mondays and Tuesdays during peak season. A missed opportunity, and a disappointment for potential visitors. It's great that there are walking routes; it would be even better if they were also marked/signposted. Not everyone has scouting skills.

The omelet I ordered was supposed to contain fennel and crayfish, but I received something that resembled an egg Benedict. It had a bizarrely thick layer of hollandaise sauce on it, which I really don't like. Either the menu information is incorrect/incomplete, or I received the wrong dish. The location is beautiful and the service was excellent.

A 12-hour meat course with a watery mustard soup, fried egg, and carpaccio were served on a slice of bread. We found the veal croquette too floury, with little to no meat present, presented loosely on the plate. The lettuce with pickled vegetables was delicious. The park itself is simply a beautiful estate for walking and visiting. Free parking (P1) is the nearest parking lot. Hopefully, the kitchen staff will do something to improve the quality of the dishes. Better management of new staff is needed.

We absolutely cannot agree with some of the negative reviews. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. While some items, like larger napkins, different cutlery, and an ashtray, only arrived upon request, they were promptly delivered. It would have been nice if the fish had been filleted at the table, but the quality and flavor of the products make this overlooked. All in all, a successful evening in a pleasant atmosphere. Reservations are recommended. We'll definitely be back.

Mooi landgoed, maar bruiloft de avond ervoor en alles was nog vies en niet opgeruimd. In urinoir toilet had iemand overgegeven wat nog niet schoongemaakt was, duurde heel lang voordat koffie en thee geserveerd werd. 1 meisje in de bediening die alles alleen moest doen op een terras (voor en in de tuin) die langzaam volliep. Mooie tuinen, maar er zal wel betere bedrijfsleiding moeten komen.

Avond ervoor een bruiloft, alles was nog vies en moest nog opgeruimd worden. In urinoir herentoilet had iemand overgegeven, maar was nog niet opgeruimd. Mooi landgoed, maar duurde heel lang voordat wij onze koffie en thee kregen (meisje stond er helemaal alleen voor terwijl het terras voor en in de tuin snel volliep). Leuk om door de tuinen te wandelen, heel idillisch.

Beautiful location that creates expectations. That expectation was not fulfilled in any way. Many staff, mainly busy with each other, when you enter, nobody sees you. Food very ordinary. To top it all off, our order always turned out to be taken at the wrong table number, which meant it took ages before we could pay. Such a location and such service! Will we come back: no, not for the service, not for the food. Yes, for the park

Waited more than 1 hour for food, food/service was substandard, I actually have no words for it.

Dit is absoluut een van de allermooiste locaties waar je met mooi weer een receptie kunt houden. Het gebouw en de tuinen zijn prachtig.

The service is super slow That's why I ordered 2 drinks at once. The tableware is colored earthenware with silver cutlery. The birthday boy got a fountain with his dessert. The toilet was clean. The garden is THE eye-catcher and the open kitchen. The staff is not pushy but in warm weather you walk to the bar yourself because it takes so long. A bit more guidance from the staff is desirable and an open attitude from the waiters would also be nice. The food was nicely served and tasted delicious a 10! The chairs were not luxurious and you could tell after sitting for 3.5 hours.. The table was too high so I couldn't drink properly but that was solved by the long straw.

Too bad! The fact that you need medication is not nice, but that you have to pay €0.50 for a glass of tap water is ridiculous and not very customer friendly! It was also not mentioned when ordering, you only find out when paying the bill. After speaking to the manager about it, we were told that it was for the extra dishes, very special this! By the way, the dog got a full bowl of water, they don't make a fuss about that. Never again for us!

The surroundings are beautiful. If you are here just to see the sights, you can enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful greenery. If you come here to eat, be careful about your skin color. It is not a pleasant dining environment for people of color. I waited at the door for almost five minutes and no one came to ask, until a white couple appeared behind the door. Then a waiter came to ask. After we were seated, we waited another fifteen minutes, but no one came to ask if we wanted to order.

Wat jammer dat op deze prachtige plek de mosselen niet gaar waren en de koffie over de koffie over de tafel ging. De bediening deed zijn best, maar als je komt vertellen dat ze in dit restaurant de mosselen opdienen terwijl ze te kort gekookt zijn, waardoor de helft nog dicht zit of slijmerig is, dan snap ik er niks meer van. Gelukkig kregen we koffie als goedmaker

Been here many times, unfortunately the last time confirmed again that the food is not great. The waiting staff in particular are very disinterested, except for one who was friendly. The plates and empty bottles were only cleared by waiter number 4 after we had already asked several times and the table was overcrowded. This happened a few times. Also indicated that I did not want pork. The beef carpaccio on the menu had bacon 😎 but we exchanged it with our table companion, otherwise we would have to wait even longer. The staff was mainly busy with each other and a total of 5 of them were eating next to us at the bar, a waiter busily walked past us with a large cloth and cleaning sprayer while she was on her way to clear away the second part of our empty plates. After that, no one was seen cleaning up the mess for 15 minutes after payment had been made. (requested several times) The tone was also not very friendly when someone asked for another dessert from the menu, which turned out not to be possible and then thank God it was, just like with an espresso macchiato! Too bad, location is great. A very missed opportunity!

Delicious food after a walk around the estate. As a child I was always curious about who lived here. And now I know.😂

Particularly reverberant acoustics. Bread ordered as an appetizer was served with only 1 portion of butter during dinner. The buffalo burrata came with 2 halves of lean asparagus (during asparagus season of all things) and we had to go get the wine because it was not being served. The North Sea crab with skinny legs for €27 contained hardly any meat. Afterwards we ate an ice cream somewhere else.

Staff lack of motivation. Both service and the boys who had to clean up the terrace. Dragging chairs and looking grumpy at the customers while you are waiting and looking out. Service staff do not clean tables after customers leave and are immediately cleared. Drink service takes at least 10 minutes even though it is not busy. They won't see me here anymore

Went there last week, food was good, dessert menu was unfortunately not very extensive. Staff was not motivated, they consider each other more important than clean tables or the guests. Wine cooler very sticky twice. When guests were gone, the tables were cleared, but not cleaned. Clean dishes were placed on dirty tables. 2 boys who were clearing the terrace outside were uninterested, lazy, too lazy to lift the chairs (lightweight), which were dragged across the terrace. Guests are watching this. Phone was more important than their work. It was not busy in the afternoon, but you had to wait a long time for service.

The cappuccino was delicious and the carrot/nut cake was delicious.

Beautiful location! We were very satisfied until we looked at the bill again at home and noticed that the Irish coffee was not 9.50 but 11.50 and it turned out that we had paid 4.00 for the chocolates that we had not asked for. I don't want to complain, but a bottle of still water cost 7.50. I thought it was a nice gesture, those chocolates with a nasty aftertaste. It was not busy in the restaurant, but the staff was busy with each other.

Good fast service, nice location. Full of parking options. Nice terrace with spacious lawn.

Had a nice coffee with the dog and a water bowl for the dog. Very nicely arranged!!!

Beautiful location with varied meals. You can enjoy walking in the area. A tip is to dress warmly in winter. Some parts of the restaurant are located in glass rooms where the temperature can be slightly lower.

The food was tasty. The service was very poor as they gave or forgot the wrong food or drinks several times. Someone had also been given food twice that contained something she was allergic to, even though she had clearly said so and the outcome could have been very different. Furthermore, the food was tasty. They say the desserts come with a kunefa bar, but that is something completely different and it doesn't taste good. If you come here you should not eat this because it is not the same as that Dubai bar and not in a good way. The atmosphere is great, although it is cold.

Great wedding location to work in! Cheyenne the wedding planner also knows what is trending and knows good suppliers. Many beautiful places, both inside and outside.

Unwelcoming .. no drinks served because no reservations have been made... for a cup of coffee or a beer on the terrace... Never heard of having to make a reservation for a drink... Even if we wanted to get it ourselves and pay immediately was not possible... certainly not a warm welcome, very disappointing service... we will never come back here

Delicious dessert (bite and kick)

Lunch duurde ontzettend lang. Twee van ons kregen al eerder een bord dan de rest. De soep was koud. En dat gemeld. Werd het mee teruggenomen en daarna was de rest van twaalfuurtje koud. Hadden ze alleen de soep opgewarmd Garnalen was 1 theelepel en smakeloos. In keuken staan mensen met blote handen in kom de sla te mengen. Bediening tot 3x toe gezegd dat we niet tevreden zijn, wordt alleen gezegd sorry en verder niets. Wij komen hier niet meer. Veel te hoge prijs ook voor wat je krijgt.

My parents had made a reservation here for lunch with the family for their 25th wedding anniversary. I had called in advance to ask if they could make something special from the table. It was indicated that this would be covered neatly and chicly. Once we arrived, nothing was ready, a few tables were pushed together with difficulty and a parasol was placed. Once we ordered desserts, I went inside to ask if they could do something special for my parents' (a firework, candle, whatever). This didn't happen and we got the normal desserts. Now I normally really enjoy the orangery and I like to come there for drinks and food, but I still expected that some attention would be paid to the layout or that something extra was done at such a place. a special occasion. Fortunately, we still had a nice day with the family, but I found this really disappointing, especially when it was indicated that something would be done. Very unfortunate.

Beautiful great location. Delicious cuisine and great service, all with radiant faces. Enjoyed a summer evening with company.

We had to wait 10 minutes for the menu. After I asked again inside, we got it. We had ordered apple pie with whipped cream, so not with ice cream and coffee. The coffee was almost finished when we got apple pie and yes, with ice cream. They were going to settle that but it was not done.

Reserved just no place. A few chairs were quickly pushed together and we were allowed to sit somewhere in the passage. It was busy due to private parties. Then I would say don't take reservations.

Helaas. We waren in de buurt en wilden van een heerlijke lunch genieten. 25 minuten op het terras gezeten maar de bediening was te druk. Dus weer weggegaan. Alle anderen werden wel bediend en van een afstandje werden we wel aangekeken door de bediening maar het leek alsof we niet bestonden.

Ik heb mij heel hard vergist in Nederland vooral in de horeca.Ik dacht dat wij samen Nederland en België voor elkaar moesten zorgen.Eerst mochten we al niet binnen omdat we niet gereserveerd hadden.Uiteindelijk kregen we wel een tafel en kwam de bediening bijna nooit. Het eten was dan ook nog niet eens zo lekker.Ik heb me erg vergist

Het was zeer jammer, zeer mooie locatie waar ik en men familie als laatste uitstapje dachten te genieten. Toen we hier aankwamen was er direct een aanvallende sfeer naar ons , we bestelden ons eten een paar minuten later waarbij een ober zei dat het oké was maar dit was het zeker niet, we kregen ons voorgerecht na 30 minuten(dit was gewoon lunch,matig). Daarna kregen we na 54 minuten ons hoofdgerecht nog steeds niet dus spraken we hun aan en zeiden ze nog 10 min( ze waren er nog niet aan begonnen). Het eten was matig en hebben alleen kunnen genieten van het landschap en de locatie helaas niet van de gastvrijheid en het eten.

Hier al verschillende keren geluncht en nu tijd voor een review! Los van de mooie omgeving en de prachtige locatie is het ook prettig dat er een groot parkeerterrein is. De keuze waar je wilt zitten moet je zelf ondervinden, er is een oud en nieuw gedeelte en beiden zijn prima. Wil je buiten eten dan zijn er voldoende parasols om de zon te ontwijken. De menukaart is prima en het eten is voortreffelijk. De open keuken geeft een inkijk in een goed geoliede machine. De bediening vinden wij top, gisteren werden we geholpen door een jong team en dat ging voortreffelijk ! Chapeau ! Het terras was vol en er werd prima werk geleverd en wat je van een geoliede machine verwacht was terug te vinden op onze borden! Heerlijk dus. Wel reserveren want menigeen weet dit plekje te vinden!

After bringing all family members together for lunch (difficult to achieve at the best of times) and alerting staff, when making our booking, that we had a fourteen-month-old with us, we arrived on time. We ordered shortly after arriving, ordered drinks and waited. An entree of oysters (not a complex dish) arrived promptly. The table next to us filled, they placed their order. And we waited. Staff were asked several times when could be expect our lunch. A vague answer and we were plied with another round of drinks. When the table next to us began receiving their order and we'd been waiting close to two hours - yes! - we were told oh dear, there'd been a problem with the order and it was being remedied!! Were we offered any apologies, some bread and butter anything while waiting? NO! Cancelling the order we left, our small person and her mother having had to leave earlier because she needed food and sleep. The bill for eight oysters and two rounds or drinks E100 (no wine, just three beers and some soft drinks). Forget going to this place because there are many other restaurants in the area providing excellent service and food. I'm almost eighty and have dined across the world and this was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had - give the place a miss and pass on the message!!

We have been coming here for lunch regularly for several years, it is a beautiful location. The garden at the rear in particular has a lot of atmosphere. However, we have noticed that lunch dishes have become less popular lately. both the portioning and the layout of the dishes are decreasing. Last year you received a carpaccio very nicely prepared and in sufficient quantity, now the carpaccio was placed directly on bread without lettuce in between, resulting in a soggy sandwich. In addition, the garnish was also much less than usual.

We enjoyed the chef's delicious 4-course surprise menu, the beautiful explanation of the wines, the top service, the entire atmosphere, we are real gourmets, the price-quality is correct and we will definitely come back!! Don't give up the good work toppers!!

Update January 12, 2024. The owners of Orangerie Mattemburgh have contacted me and apologized for this unpleasant situation and the lack of communication. The matter was resolved in a customer-friendly and professional manner. DO NOT EAT HERE AND READ ALL 1 STAR REVIEWS CAREFULLY!!! We decided to celebrate last Christmas (26/12/23) at Orangerie Mattemburgh. To get straight to the point, there are no words in the Dutch language to describe the food. It was that dirty and for 89.50 euros per person. Tuna and steak tartare that looked as if they had been under the heat lamp for at least half a day with the corresponding color and hard edge. The deer wellington puff pastry was completely wet/raw. Watery soufflés where ice was placed AGAINST the hot containers so that the desert floated around in melted ice. These are just a few examples, at least 85% of all corridors were seriously below standard. I was so disappointed that I ultimately decided to send a complaint email asking whether I could get the money back of 500 euros. There was no response to this and neither was the follow-up email. One can conclude that customer friendliness and quality are not in the vocabulary of management. Unfortunately I had not read the 1 star reviews in advance because there are plenty of people who think the same about the quality of this establishment.

Waiter service below standard. We had to wait a long time for someone to take an interest in you. We also wanted to eat something but after almost a hour of waiting we left disgusted with the situation. We managed to drink only two beers, which also had to wait a long time.

A beautiful brasserie/restaurant located on the Brabant rampart...beautiful garden...nice place to sit...very friendly staff...plenty of parking...surroundings are worth a walk...beautiful country house.

Mooie locatie maar eten en bediening ondermaats. Eten werd lauwwarm geserveerd. Drankjes lieten lang op zich wachten en enkele keren zelf vergeten. Lege borden en glazen werden niet afgeruimd.

This place is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm coeliac and they also have the best gluten free food, great quality and super fresh ingredients. Highly recommend!

Ik heb me vandaag om 15.50uur gesetteld op het teras bij orangerie Mattenburgh om iets te bestellen. Na het kijken op de menukaart koos ik voor een uitsmijter maar na het doorgeven van mijn bestelling werd mij verteld dat ik geen uitsmijter meer mocht kiezen omdat dit maar te bestellen was tot 16.00uur. Ik vroeg om een uitzondering maar ik werd meteen met een duidelijke" NEE" toegesproken. Ik heb geen fijne ervaring overgehouden van de hele houding van de bediende. Erg jammer dit kost hun klanten.

Na een prachtige wandeling over het landgoed hebben we in de orangerie van een zeer smaakvolle lunch genoten. De mensen in de keuken verstaan hun vak !!! Vriendelijke bediening en wat ik altijd erg prettig vind, veel licht en ruimte. Ik kom gegarandeerd terug. Dank !!

After a 12km walk in a beautiful nature, I had the BEST salade I ever ate (and I come from France!). The goat cheese salad was amazing and satisfying. The cheese is caramelized like a crème brulée, the fig chutney works perfect with the cheese, the nuts are fresh, the pickels are sweet and crunchy (the radish!!) , the salad is greatly seasoned with what I believe is a honey sauce? PERFECTION if you like sweet salads. And I will say the place and service have nothing to envy to the delicious cuisine. There is a nice family atmosphere and the staff is attentive and keep the right distance (perfect!). The place is also really nice, with a good natural light and comfortable sittings and space. The toilets are also nice and clean. I will come back to try the desserts :p

Vandaag met twee geluncht. We hadden allebei de Club Orangerie. De porties waren ontzettend klein. We zijn met soort van honger daarna ergens anders nog gaan eten. De sla en de tomaten op het bord waren al wat daagjes oud, net als het brood. Zoals al gemeld was het brood niet echt belegd. De locatie is wel mooi. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Jammer eigenlijk, we hadden er zoveel meer van verwacht.

Veel te groot voorgerecht t.o.v. hoofdgerecht. Geen fijne bediening, steeds iemand anders en de tafel bleef vol staan met glazen

Prachtige locatie, fijn uitzicht en het personeel was zeer attent. Wij hadden kippendijen en bouillabaise. De kip en frites waren heerlijk. De bouillaise was goed van smaak maar zeer sober gevuld. Er zaten geen schelpdieren in, alleen een stukje vis en garnaaltjes.

Heerlijk gegeten in de Oranjerie. Prachtige locatie. Vlotte bediening en smakelijk eten. Wij hadden uitzicht op de open keuken waar de kok druk aan het koken was. Die kok waarvan de broek op 'half halfzeven' hing ;). Kleine tip: maak in de toiletten even de handendroog machine van binnen schoon.

Leckeres Essen. Der Qualität der Speisen angemessene Preise. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Tolles Ambiente. Man kann vorher und nachher einen kleinen Rundgang durch die Parkanlage machen. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Geweldig leuke plek. Veel te zien tijdens een wandeling en er is een fijn terras. Goed eten lekkere wijn en een prima bediening. Hier ben je de gast die echt te gast is. We hebben veel waardering voor dit plekje. Nu was het de lunch. We komen terug voor meer.

Mooie ambiance en locatie. Een goede menukaart en voor elk wat Wils. Wij hebben er gelunched en een 12uurtje genomen.Deze was smakelijk en een goed gevuld bord. De bediening is vriendelijk en adequaat en het viel ons op dat er relatief veel personeel aanwezig was voor een donderdagmiddag. En als laatste , niet geheel onbelangrijk, de prijs -kwaliteit verhouding is goed. Een aanrader om er te gaan eten ...

Hermoso restaurante con unos espléndidos jardines y terrazas exteriores. Sabrosa comida, bien preparada y con una esmerado servicio.

Tijdens een wandeling over de Brabantse Wal hier een stop gemaakt om iets te drinken. Prachtige locatie in het groen met een mooie lunchkaart. Heerlijk terras en je kunt meteen het park Mattemburgh bezoeken (gratis). Jammer dat het geluid van de snelweg zo hoorbaar is.

Prijs kwaliteit niet in verhouding erg duur.voor hoofd en nagerecht €140.00 voor scampi erg zuur van smaak, carpaccio redelijk, hoofd vis redelijk, ossenhaas klein en lauw met weinig groente.na gerecht tarte tahin slecht gemaakt. 2 wijntjes per persoon alles bij elkaar heel jong personeel (doen wel haar best)en weinig controle op kwaliteit voor dit geld. Kom hier zeker niet meer terug. Gr Rene

Na een lange wandeling met de hond, passeerden we Orangerie Mattemburgh. Omdat onze hond redelijk vuil was, waren we niet zeker of hij mee binnen mocht. Na even twijfelen door de obers mochten we meekomen en kregen we een ruime tafel waar de hond voldoende ruimte had zonder in de weg te liggen. Erg attent! Het duurde wel even tot we konden bestellen maar dat werd ruimschoots goedgemaakt door de snelheid van bediening, vriendelijkheid van het personeel en hoe lekker het eten was. Daarnaast verbaasde de lage prijs van de rekening ons. Het is zeker een aanrader. Ik kom er graag nog eens terug!

Heerlijk gegeten met een wat grotere groep. Sfeervolle locatie. Goede en hartelijke bediening. Uitstekend rekening gehouden met enkele dieetwensen. We komen terug!

Augustus 2020 hier geweest, maar dit heeft zoveel indruk gemaakt dat ik nog heel graag de review wil schrijven Ontzettend mooi landgoed, met een heerlijke brasserie waar je echt super kunt lunchen. Heel mooi verzorgd, zowel buiten als binnen. Ook een heerlijk terras zit er bij, en een eigen groente kruidentuin, waar ook echt mee gewerkt wordt in de brasserie. De bloemen op mijn lunch kwamen recht uit de tuin. Ook genoten van de prachtige tuinen rondom de brasserie en het kasteel. Zeker de moeite waard om hier eens een middag te vertoeven!

We hebben heerlijk genoten van de lunch .de bediening was vlot en heel vriendelijk.een prachtig restaurant tot in de puntjes verzorgd en een mooie locatie in een prachtige streek.we hadden de heerlijke carpacciosalade gegeten ,zeer verrassend met al die eigen geteelde ingrediënten.ga vooral zo door.

Delicious dinner! Best quality indigrients and flawless cooking. Also perfect service and good atmosphere. If you want to visit a fine-dining restaurant it is one of the best in Bergen op Zoom.

Je kunt hier heerlijk lunchen, een aanrader! Wel soms wat lange wachttijden.

Zeker te adviseren. Prima plek om tijdens een goede lunch of diner te vergaderen.

Heerlijk eten, had zelf een matthenburger (broodje hamburger) het smaakte heerlijk ook het voorgerecht vissoep was zeker geen tegenvaller, helaas zaten er haren van het lam nog in de ribben, daarvoor hebben we 4 gratis drankjes gehad, gezellige zaak, vriendelijk personeel!

Alles zo lekker vers en zeer verrassend !
