This restaurant offers a variety of Chinese cuisine like Cantonese, Szechuan and traditional Dutch Chinese. The Dutch Chinese is not the dominant dish fortunately which gave hope for the other cuisines. As a starter I had Sin Zuk Kun which I've never tried before. Good taste a presentation. As a main I had the Cha Siew which for me is a proof of quality. The taste was surprisingly good. The restaurant is pretty spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fair.

I've been there three times now. Great service, friendly and attentive staff. Everything is nice and clean and well-organized. And the best Chinese food I've ever had. It's also quiet and cozy. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best restaurant in Enschede.

They were very attentive. They made us a custom menu based on our preferences, and everything was delicious. The person who served us was charming. The restaurant is beautiful.

We discovered this fantastic restaurant at the very last minute during our road trip through the Netherlands. We were warmly welcomed by a polite gentleman who opened the glass door and escorted us to our table. It was immediately clear: all the tables were well-spaced and professionally set with a thick tablecloth, good cutlery (a reminder for those who haven't seen Pretty Woman: from the outside in), and excellent quality napkins. The room is very spacious, with excellent acoustics, high-quality furniture, and a perfect variety of table sizes. Despite its considerable size, the restaurant has an extremely cozy atmosphere and a chic, yet anything but grandiose appearance. There's much to discover here. It's a pleasant place to spend time for both couples and groups (imposing large round tables make for a cozy get-together). The staff speaks Dutch and has every reason to be proud of this refined restaurant. Their body language reflects this. Everyone is genuinely attentive, with a sense of humor and a keen ear: "What do you like? What don't you like? Are there any specific requests?" There's genuine interest in the guests. This was further emphasized by the presence of returning customers. And so we were surprised with a three-course meal. Long story short: a perfect evening and highly recommended for anyone looking for a Chinese restaurant where the guest is the center of attention in a tastefully decorated space that will stay with you. Saturday, July 2025. Looking for a Chinese restaurant, we ended up at De Lange Muur. The owner wasn't in the mood to serve food due to a busy takeout schedule. So, off we went, looking for another restaurant; Oriental City is not far away. What a difference! We received a friendly welcome and were served promptly. Most importantly, the food was delicious. A fine and well-maintained restaurant, recommended. The price is a bit higher than comparable restaurants.

I've been picking up food here for years, but the quality is gradually declining and the prices are going up, and I'm also wondering how fresh the food is. I'm not going to be getting it from them for a while... Meanwhile, three months later, I picked something up from this Chinese restaurant again, and again, it wasn't fresh. The Koe lu yoek bikkelhart satay was dry and tasted rather bland, so this was definitely the last time!

Always delicious here, but busy and sometimes a long wait

Very good Chinese. Service is incredibly slow, you almost have to go to the Mac to satisfy your hunger in between.

Terrible scammers! Ordered the monthly menu twice, but had to pay 4 times for the Chinese bami. Chinese bami is just noodles and has no taste.

Dined with 16 people, children and (slightly) elderly, and everyone was satisfied. That in itself is special, but the attentive friendliness and helpfulness of the staff deserves an extra star. Compliments. Thank you very much. Highly recommended!

After many years of getting food here, I came home yesterday to the unpleasant discovery that the contents of the containers are suddenly much less. I agree and accept price increases, but unexpectedly not being able to put enough on the table! Gone are years of trust...I won't be coming here again

Never use take-away here. Many people have the same compains. Its is extremely bad. Tomato Soup is only jelly. Babi pangang is tasteless and not as i am used to. Awful. Dinner in the restaurant seems to be good. But then shut down the take away instead of sending people home with the stuff you cannot even call food. Shame on you.

Ordered Chinese tomato soup. Inedible. It was all thickener with no flavor. Tastes like gelatin. Salt-free and without tomato flavor. Threw away. Babi pangang was very mediocre. The same thickened sauce as the soup, meat was limp and sour and had been stirred into the sauce. We will never go there again!

Only Chinese that was open today so I ordered here. Next time, don't necessarily eat Chinese food on Monday.... Disappointing. Nasi rice was tasteless. Satay was really not tasty. The rest was doable. See you soon again

I haven't had such good Chinese food in many years. In terms of quality, freshness and taste, the food is much better than the Chinese-Mongolian all-you-can-eat restaurants that are common in Germany today. It's not cheap, but the price/performance ratio is still very good. The portion size is also good. Recommendation!

Best takeaway restaurant in Enschede

Had food delivered by this restaurant for the first time. The food arrived exactly at the time I stated. The food was still hot when it was delivered and it was delicious. I can recommend this restaurant to everyone and certainly the delivery service.

Today was the first time I bought food here and I was pleasantly surprised. Very pleasant, polite service, good explanation, fast service. The food was a real feast. We enjoyed the food immensely. Everything was well seasoned and you could really taste the individual ingredients. The price/quality ratio was excellent.

Better doesn't exist. Real Chinese chefs provide authentic food and not a modified version of Chinese food for the Dutch taste buds that you get everywhere. We are now very much at home. Delicious food. Everything is clean, including the toilets. It was nice to eat there, very cozy and very nice service, we know the family quite well now. If you like this kind of food, make a reservation you won't regret it, I promise.

Good service friendly staff and good food

The takeaway is good, but I would especially recommend eating in the restaurant. The surprise menu was extremely tasty and our wishes were taken into account. The service was really exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We had a delicious meal with our family at a large round table with a large round turntable on which the food was prepared and rotated, so you could take the dishes you were in the mood for, otherwise very polite service with good explanations about certain dishes. Highly recommended to eat there.

For Chinese takeaway you get twice as much and pay much less than if you eat there. We are disappointed with the price we had to pay and the quantity we received. Way too little food and way too expensive! It tastes great, but we were still hungry afterwards! We have never experienced that at a Chinese restaurant! Next time go to Hu's Garden, you really got your money's worth there! We will never eat here again!!

I had dinner here today with the family because it was my mother's birthday. And the food was great! We sat at a table with a round turntable. Since we had a Chinese rice table, this was very useful. What was also very good is that the ice cream we had for dessert had no ice crystals, which was nice. The service was also good and there were plenty of people. I really recommended it and would love to go here again.

After reading the reviews we decided. We'll try that too. We wanted take away. Ordered loempia specials, tjap tjoi, fu yung hai and babi pangang. The food was warm but nothing special. Loempia was mushy, not cross, and the content was bland. But bigger than anywhere else in Enschede. The rest is uniformity. Like Hu's Garden. We cannot particularly praise this take away restaurant. We expected more.

OK food, decent prices that is if you get what you actually order, for some reason they always manage to not get what you order and paid for.

Lekker eten en vriendelijke personeel

Sowohl vor Ort essen als auch zum Mitnehmen sehr lecker. Die Portionen gerade zum Mitnehmen sind wirklich gut gefüllt. Alles in allem ist das Essen immer gut, mit leckeren Soßen und Beilagen serviert. Der Service ist auch top und freundlich. Allerdings hab ich auch das Gefühl das die Qualität etwas abgenommen hat im letzten Jahr, dennoch das beste Asiatische essen in und um Enschede.

Het toetje was heerlijk. Tofu was goed gebakken en de groenten waren ook lekker knapperig. Verder kon het wel iets meer smaak hebben. Kan aan het gerecht liggen overigens.

De afhaal is al jaren goed. Eten in het restaurant zelf nog veel beter. Super personeel.

Wat een zeer verrukkelijke restaurant!! Heb er echt heel erg van genoten. De sfeer van het restaurant is echt heel fijn. Lekker luchtig is het daar ook wel, maakt het wat comfortabeler om te eten. In ieder geval ik geef deze restaurant een dikke 10, zeker een aanrader!

Wir waren hier von Freunden eingeladen und wurden absolut positiv überrascht. Es ein Mehrgang-Überraschungsmenü. Alle Speisen (Rotbarsch, Ente, Rinderfilet, Lammkoteletts und Schweinebauch) waren hervorragend und lecker zubereitet. Auch die Optik wurde nicht vergessen. Ein rundum schöner Abend in einem wirklich empfehlenswerten Restaurant.

Kwalitatief op een hoger niveau

De koks weten elke keer wat bijzonders op tafel te zetten. Ondanks de chice aankleding blijft de sfeer vrij informeel. Het personeel is leuk en de service is uitstekend.

Erg goede Chinees. Een degelijke, nog ouderwetse (in positieve zin) Chinees. Er is een vriendelijke eigenaar die op een leuke manier adviseert. De gerechten zijn erg goed, gebruik van verse seizoensgroenten. Het is jammer dat steeds meer Chinese restaurants zich laten verleiden tot een all-you-can-eat concept en de kwaliteit laten zakken, hier dus niet!

Absoluut een aanrader, het eten is smaakvol, met zorg opgemaakt en de smaken zijn gebalanceerd. Het restaurant zelf is schoon, wat wij ook een goed teken vinden voor de algemene hygiëne. Verder viel het ons ook op dat alle ingrediënten vers waren (we hadden kip met asperge en ossenhaas met verscheidene groente). Wij komen zeker terug!

Een geweldig restaurant waar je verrast wordt geen doorsnee chinees restaurant maar hoogstaande gerechten die op een verrassende manier gepresenteerd worden ook voor de bediening een dikke pluim onopvallend maar toch attent . Komen hier zekers nogmaals terug om te genieten .

Ze zullen vast hard werken, maar echt vriendelijk zijn ze niet.

Zeer vriendelijke en accurate bediening en de kwaliteit van het eten is superieur de prijzen zijn als bij andere Chinese restaurants

Ook deze keer bleek het door ons bestelde nasi goreng-gerecht te bestaan uit 'n kleffe homp smakeloze witte rijst en met opvallend taai saté-vlees erbij. Omdat dit niet de eerste keer is dat de kwaliteit van het afhaalmenu ons niet goed is bevallen, hebben wij besloten om voortaan niet meer te bestellen bij Oriëntal City.

Zolang het eten goed is , is het goed chinees restaurant, maar zodra je met een klacht komt vanwege voedselvergiftiging word je in eerste instantie niet serieus genomen.... vervolgens omdat je het zelf aangeeft dat er best excuus mag komen of geld voor het eten terug, kreeg ik uiteindelijk het bedrag terug....maar de manier waarop dit ging is zeker geen reclame
