We had another delicious meal, friendly staff.

We picked up food from you last Sunday. The meat is good, but we threw away the noodles again; they tasted really disgusting. This is the umpteenth time, but also the last. We are going to look for another Chinese restaurant.

Very tasty. The best in town, that was it for years. Now terrible. The noodles aren't what they used to be; they're not yellow. The pangang is very greasy. And everything is tasteless, and that for a lot of money. A shame.

Prices have risen sharply since the pandemic. Actually, they are too expensive now for the quality of food they are currently serving. The Bami has a floury taste.

We got takeout from this restaurant again after a long time. The food was, as always, very tasty. Unfortunately, the bami was very disappointing this time. Instead of the familiar yellow bami we always get here, it looked more like vermicelli. The taste was also not what we are used to, and it didn't actually even look like bami. In the end, we threw the bami away, which was a real shame. We hope this was a one-off and that the old bami returns.

One of the few remaining Chinese restaurants in Enschede. Had a delicious meal (as always), Thomas is a true host and knows his craft; he remembers every order without notes and, miraculously, everything arrives 100% "as ordered" at the table. Oriental City, and especially Thomas, thank you for the delicious food and good service.

We had a lovely meal here with my wife. The food was delicious, but what really deserves to be mentioned is that the service is very good!

Last Monday, I picked up a monthly menu for €35! Noodles, rice, foo young hai, something with chicken, babi pangang, satay skewers, mini spring rolls, and prawn crackers. The noodles were "sticky" and tasteless, just like all the other dishes. The babi pangang was tough, dry, and completely tasteless; the foo young hai had the same sauce as the babi pangang. The ginger was overpowering! The "fried" pieces were sitting in a sort of sauce with canned fruit: pineapple, apricot, and something else...... The satay was just as tough and dried out, and the satay sauce was way too much. The mini spring rolls were more dough than filling and tasteless......... A few bites and unfortunately, I dumped it all! Will I come or order here again? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

This was the first time in years that we went here (normally we go on foot and this is just a bit too far; this time we went by car and that was fine). We were welcomed warmly. We had a reservation, yes we did. A neat table, comfortable chairs. A small bowl of cassava was more than enough for the three of us. Drinks were brought to the table quickly. Despite the crowds (the other big Asian restaurant is closed), the noise level was pleasant. We chose the menu and that went smoothly. Excellent starters. After that, plenty of food and various main courses. The Peking duck arrived a bit later. The waiter joked that it was due to the geopolitical situation, which meant he had been on the road a bit longer. Jokes like that make my evening. The waiters were present at the right moments. During the coffee, another waiter came over to chat for a bit because it turned out he knew people our dining companion knew. All in all, we had a super delicious meal in a nice atmosphere at a reasonable price.

For a change, I ordered food from this place. We normally go to the Chinese restaurant "International" across from the Casino. Yesterday, I ordered noodles with chicken and chopped vegetables. And I got half a noodle extra. What a terrible mess; it wasn't fresh, like leftovers from the restaurant that had been reheated several times. It didn't even resemble noodles, more like vermicelli. We ended up throwing it in the trash because even the dog wouldn't eat it. I struggle to give it a 1*. If you want disgusting food, you should go to Haaksbergestraat. I really don't understand why people give multiple stars.

We ate here at the restaurant and chose the 4-course Asian menu for two. It was a wonderful experience. They served a large platter of delicious dishes, from tenderloin to pork belly. Even the house wine was excellent. This is truly the best Asian restaurant in Enschede. We'll be back soon.

Last Saturday, we ordered takeout for the first time. After the first two bites, we noticed the food tasted "old" and not fresh. We decided not to continue eating. Unfortunately, I've been having serious stomach problems for three days now. Be warned! Friendly people, but, again, the food was far from fresh and flavorful.

We were there this evening and I must say I was very impressed. The food was fantastic. See you soon!

This restaurant offers a variety of Chinese cuisine like Cantonese, Szechuan and traditional Dutch Chinese. The Dutch Chinese is not the dominant dish fortunately which gave hope for the other cuisines. As a starter I had Sin Zuk Kun which I've never tried before. Good taste a presentation. As a main I had the Cha Siew which for me is a proof of quality. The taste was surprisingly good. The restaurant is pretty spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fair.

We discovered this fantastic restaurant at the very last minute during our road trip through the Netherlands. We were warmly welcomed by a polite gentleman who opened the glass door and escorted us to our table. It was immediately clear: all the tables were well-spaced and professionally set with a thick tablecloth, good cutlery (a reminder for those who haven't seen Pretty Woman: from the outside in), and excellent quality napkins. The room is very spacious, with excellent acoustics, high-quality furniture, and a perfect variety of table sizes. Despite its considerable size, the restaurant has an extremely cozy atmosphere and a chic, yet anything but grandiose appearance. There's much to discover here. It's a pleasant place to spend time for both couples and groups (imposing large round tables make for a cozy get-together). The staff speaks Dutch and has every reason to be proud of this refined restaurant. Their body language reflects this. Everyone is genuinely attentive, with a sense of humor and a keen ear: "What do you like? What don't you like? Are there any specific requests?" There's genuine interest in the guests. This was further emphasized by the presence of returning customers. And so we were surprised with a three-course meal. Long story short: a perfect evening and highly recommended for anyone looking for a Chinese restaurant where the guest is the center of attention in a tastefully decorated space that will stay with you. Saturday, July 2025. Looking for a Chinese restaurant, we ended up at De Lange Muur. The owner wasn't in the mood to serve food due to a busy takeout schedule. So, off we went, looking for another restaurant; Oriental City is not far away. What a difference! We received a friendly welcome and were served promptly. Most importantly, the food was delicious. A fine and well-maintained restaurant, recommended. The price is a bit higher than comparable restaurants.

I've been picking up food here for years, but the quality is gradually declining and the prices are going up, and I'm also wondering how fresh the food is. I'm not going to be getting it from them for a while... Meanwhile, three months later, I picked something up from this Chinese restaurant again, and again, it wasn't fresh. The Koe lu yoek bikkelhart satay was dry and tasted rather bland, so this was definitely the last time!

Always delicious here, but busy and sometimes a long wait

Very good Chinese. Service is incredibly slow, you almost have to go to the Mac to satisfy your hunger in between.

Terrible scammers! Ordered the monthly menu twice, but had to pay 4 times for the Chinese bami. Chinese bami is just noodles and has no taste.

Dined with 16 people, children and (slightly) elderly, and everyone was satisfied. That in itself is special, but the attentive friendliness and helpfulness of the staff deserves an extra star. Compliments. Thank you very much. Highly recommended!

Never use take-away here. Many people have the same compains. Its is extremely bad. Tomato Soup is only jelly. Babi pangang is tasteless and not as i am used to. Awful. Dinner in the restaurant seems to be good. But then shut down the take away instead of sending people home with the stuff you cannot even call food. Shame on you.

Ordered Chinese tomato soup. Inedible. It was all thickener with no flavor. Tastes like gelatin. Salt-free and without tomato flavor. Threw away. Babi pangang was very mediocre. The same thickened sauce as the soup, meat was limp and sour and had been stirred into the sauce. We will never go there again!

Only Chinese that was open today so I ordered here. Next time, don't necessarily eat Chinese food on Monday.... Disappointing. Nasi rice was tasteless. Satay was really not tasty. The rest was doable. See you soon again

I haven't had such good Chinese food in many years. In terms of quality, freshness and taste, the food is much better than the Chinese-Mongolian all-you-can-eat restaurants that are common in Germany today. It's not cheap, but the price/performance ratio is still very good. The portion size is also good. Recommendation!

Had food delivered by this restaurant for the first time. The food arrived exactly at the time I stated. The food was still hot when it was delivered and it was delicious. I can recommend this restaurant to everyone and certainly the delivery service.

Today was the first time I bought food here and I was pleasantly surprised. Very pleasant, polite service, good explanation, fast service. The food was a real feast. We enjoyed the food immensely. Everything was well seasoned and you could really taste the individual ingredients. The price/quality ratio was excellent.

Better doesn't exist. Real Chinese chefs provide authentic food and not a modified version of Chinese food for the Dutch taste buds that you get everywhere. We are now very much at home. Delicious food. Everything is clean, including the toilets. It was nice to eat there, very cozy and very nice service, we know the family quite well now. If you like this kind of food, make a reservation you won't regret it, I promise.

The takeaway is good, but I would especially recommend eating in the restaurant. The surprise menu was extremely tasty and our wishes were taken into account. The service was really exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We had a delicious meal with our family at a large round table with a large round turntable on which the food was prepared and rotated, so you could take the dishes you were in the mood for, otherwise very polite service with good explanations about certain dishes. Highly recommended to eat there.

For Chinese takeaway you get twice as much and pay much less than if you eat there. We are disappointed with the price we had to pay and the quantity we received. Way too little food and way too expensive! It tastes great, but we were still hungry afterwards! We have never experienced that at a Chinese restaurant! Next time go to Hu's Garden, you really got your money's worth there! We will never eat here again!!

I had dinner here today with the family because it was my mother's birthday. And the food was great! We sat at a table with a round turntable. Since we had a Chinese rice table, this was very useful. What was also very good is that the ice cream we had for dessert had no ice crystals, which was nice. The service was also good and there were plenty of people. I really recommended it and would love to go here again.

After reading the reviews we decided. We'll try that too. We wanted take away. Ordered loempia specials, tjap tjoi, fu yung hai and babi pangang. The food was warm but nothing special. Loempia was mushy, not cross, and the content was bland. But bigger than anywhere else in Enschede. The rest is uniformity. Like Hu's Garden. We cannot particularly praise this take away restaurant. We expected more.

OK food, decent prices that is if you get what you actually order, for some reason they always manage to not get what you order and paid for.
