It was a wonderful evening with a perfect ambiance. The cod was a poem beyond compare, and the side dishes were more than adequate. We finished with a herbal liqueur that unfortunately left us wanting more. We'd be happy to come back.

We invited friends to dine with us at Floor and Leni's fish restaurant De Meerpaal in Zandvoort. It felt like coming home. It's an authentic restaurant unlike any other. Excellent fish dishes and extremely attentive service. Our friends confirmed this. We'll definitely be back. We returned with other friends and our children. We all chose the four-course menu. It was truly delicious.

Whenever I'm on holiday in Zandvoort, I always reserve a table at this fish restaurant. The food is delicious, and the service is always friendly and attentive, thanks to the extremely charming owners, who have their quaint restaurant under their belt. A true Zandvoort institution!

It was a dream, probably the best-prepared fish I've ever eaten. For starters, we had the mixed tapas platter "Parfait de Lenie," and for the main course, we had the North Sea platter for two people—everything was absolutely delicious.

We had the opportunity to eat at Meerpal Zandvoort yesterday. It is a small fish restaurant owned by a family. Sea food and fish was great. Service staff was lovely and fast however gentleman owner of the restaurant had a very unpleasant vibe which made us felt very unwelcome although we had a reservation. Hope he would not make others feel this way in the future. Thanks again for great food!

I'd heard a lot of good things about it and was determined to try it on a short trip to Zandvoort – and rightly so! Super friendly service (also in German), and I made a spontaneous reservation the night before, but luckily it worked out. Small, owner-operated fish restaurant with a really cozy atmosphere. We shared the appetizer platter and the large fish platter – with plenty of side dishes: fries, salad, potatoes, and super delicious cauliflower. My highlight: the homemade remoulade with the fish and the dips with the bread – simply perfect. The German white wine that was recommended to us also went really well with it. €140 for two including a generous tip – not a bargain, but worth every euro. For me, a must-visit in Zandvoort.

Very tasty food! Owner has a heart for the business and you can see/feel that. Only downside was that our drinks were already taken from the table while they were not finished yet. I think this was the boy's first day at work, but for the rest he did a great job!

This is a very nice restaurant with very nice service. You notice how much passion there is in everything.

The food was really very good - the fish platter in particular was excellent and a highlight in terms of taste. The service was also excellent: both the young lady and the older gentleman were very attentive and friendly. A little tip for other guests: If you order a dish for several people (for example for five), it is best to order the side dishes well in advance. The portion of the side dishes seems to be independent of the number of people - unfortunately in the end we only had one spoonful of side dish per person. Fortunately, reordering wasn't a problem and there was no extra charge. Overall, a great experience – we would love to come back!

Quite difficult to rate: Basically the quality of the food was very good, but I had a grilled salmon with asparagus and potato gratin - asparagus from the quantity and everything was great, potato gratin a child's handful, but tasty, salmon outrageously little - looked like a sausage! In addition, cutlery and napkins were in short supply, although the boss attached great importance to the fact that it shouldn't look like a canteen - jackets hanging over the chair...

Beautiful little restaurant. There are a few tables, which increase the ambience a lot and create a nice privacy. The boss and his wife are super warm people and take a lot of time for their customers. I haven't experienced something like this in a long time and would recommend this hospitality to everyone. 12/10

I had dinner there with my wife in May 2024 and was completely thrilled. I have rarely eaten such good fish as in "De Meerpaal". The boss speaks good German and is friendly. However, you should definitely reserve in advance! Next time I'm in Zandvoort I definitely have to go there again for fish. Really great!

Classically decorated, it is the oldest fish restaurant in Zandvoort. Well advised, delicious food and received a masterclass in filleting from the owner. In summer there is also a terrace on the road.

Compared to a few years ago, it's not that good anymore, the portions are smaller and the price has increased. In the past you would get the table full of lots of small bowls and at the end you would get a bottle of old genever on the house, but today you only get the bill. It's a shame, but it can't be changed. We'll still come back because the restaurant is still worth recommending!

We visit Zandvoort at least twice every year and definitely go to Meerpaal at least once on every visit. We have never been disappointed and have already tried the menu. Beautiful fish and mussel dishes that leave no wish unfulfilled. Really great restaurant, run by a very dominant and friendly owner, who always ensures quality! He also has super attentive staff! Very tasty food, we had plaice fillet with shrimps and the salmon fillet. The portions are plentiful. The waitresses and the boss were super friendly! Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is always very busy. It was a great evening!

Absolute recommendation!!! We took the plate for 2 people. Not cheap but incredibly tasty. 5 types of fresh fish (mostly fillet), 3 side dishes and 1 salad as well as tartar sauce. Everything is really extremely tasty and fresh!! The owner with passion and heart. Also friendly, helpful, courteous and funny. Just like the staff. A real family business that is worth visiting if you like fish. Even if you don't, you'll like him afterwards ;-) Definitely again!!!

I had tried a few fish restaurants before, Meerpal was the best: excellent fish dishes with lots of salad, vegetables and French fries, I couldn't manage everything. In the beach restaurants you can get fish and a side dish for the same money.
