OZZO Oriental Restobar in Sassenheim Zuid

After waiting for over 50 minutes for our food because there was a ‘large group’ in front of us (there were literally 3 tables, including 1 group of 6 people, 1 group of 4, and us), we finally received our dishes. They were perfectly edible, but really nothing more than run-of-the-mill sushi. Scandalous prices for what you get, inattentive service, but a very nice interior. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to save you 🥲

A shared dining concept where the idea is that you order multiple dishes during the evening. After we sat down, we waited 30 minutes for the first dish and then waited an hour with empty glasses and plates until someone came to us again. No one came, so we decided to walk to the cashier, pay, and eat somewhere else. The restaurant was quite empty, so it was strange that things went this way.

Very disappointing this time! We were looking forward to the sushi, but it was served sloppily crammed into a box. The tempura prawns weren't fried, and the snow crab volcano turned out to be just an unidentifiable lump. What a waste of money!

We had a surprisingly great sushi experience here! Parking was easy, the seating area was cozy and comfortable, and the sushi was absolutely delicious. The quality was excellent, especially considering the very reasonable prices. On top of that, the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for tasty sushi at a fair price. We’ll be back!

Ozzo Oriental and lounge bar at Van der Valk in Sassenheim is highly recommended. The four of us went there yesterday. The food was truly fantastic, and especially fresh. Our host, Raymond, was very helpful. Because we had an allergy, he asked us if and which sushi would be best for us. If not, he would pass it on to the chef, and the sushi would be prepared safely. Truly top-notch service. We will definitely be back.

The service was incredibly slow. We waited over an hour for the starter. It was just ordinary sushi, nothing special. Then we waited another hour for the main course. It was just ordinary tashimi, without rice or anything else. Then we waited another hour for dessert. One person at the table was served grated ice cubes with three berries on top. It seemed as if we were served three starters, judging by the quantity. The prices are extravagant and the quality is not commensurate. It is best to dine elsewhere.

If you want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for very little food on your plate, you have come to the right place. The quality of the service is terrible. The quality of the food is basic. We will never come back here. Perhaps that is the intention.

We have had a good meal here several times in the past, but this time it was very disappointing. The rice was mushy and the menu became very limited. We also found plastic in the sushi, which, according to the service, is used in preparation. As compensation we were offered an extra maki cucumber roll, which didn't make up for much. The ordered nasi supplement was also forgotten and only served when we had finished eating. Moreover, the dish was not tasty. Unfortunately, we no longer recommend this restaurant to friends and family after this experience.

Wij dineerden hier graag maar na de update heeft dit restaurant veel aan sfeer en keuze verloren terwijl het duurder is geworden. Deze avond zat het restaurant halfvol. Alle tafels waren bezet door mensen boven de 60. En toch werd er, te hard, bonkende ibizza club muziek gedraaid. Dit zal leuk geweest zijn voor het jonge personeel, maar zeker niet voor de bezoekers. De mooie sushi is nu nog maar per 10 stuks te bestellen. Dit betekent in de praktijk dat je minder gevarieerd eet. Bovendien is de sushi te duur en de sake helemaal belachelijk geprijsd. Verder begrijpen wij niet wat dit ‘Franse bistrot interieur’ met sushi te maken heeft, maar enfin, dat is een detail. Nee, bij deze zet is het doorgaans zo succesvolle ‘van der valk team’ even de weg kwijt geweest.

Good sushi; a bit Dutchish. Nice service. Nice chairs. Table a bit small for 4 people. Nice wine list. A bit stiff. Terrible pox music that no one really likes. Not a matter of taste but garish wallpaper! It was also way too loud despite the request to turn it down a bit. Reason to never go there again.

Long wait, poor service. Extremely EXPENSIVE. Finally, in this sushi place, the RICE was gone, in a sushi tent. Not recommended, there are better alternatives in the region where people probably have more rice in stock.

We ran out of rice in a sushi restaurant!!! Never experienced that before. We could no longer order sushi on Friday evening. Also expensive and poor service. Never again!

We went to the Ozzo restobar for a pre dinner cocktail prior to our reservation in the Nest restaurant. We waited 40 minutes for our drinks even though the Ozzo was relatively quiet and had 3 members of staff on duty. We followed up our drinks - on more than one occasion - but suspect the poor service was due to the fact we were dining in another restaurant at the hotel...!

Why!! Why !! Has the concept been adjusted? No variety!! Don't eat at the same time Do you have to eat 10 pieces of the same thing for one dish? We won't come again!!!

Have been coming for years with pleasure, but the menu has been adapted so that you cannot even order extra fries, and the menu was halved, for our last time, for many with us, they were the only ones in the entire restaurant. Such a shame, Food is great, Bad policy

Went here a while ago, because we generally had good experiences here. Unfortunately this was our worst experience ever. We had to wait over an hour and a half for our first order to arrive on the table. There was something wrong with the order system and there was little staff, so the crowds made everything difficult. That can happen, but it should be reported earlier. Then it took another 45 minutes until we got the next one, so we were pretty fed up. Once again the excuse that the staff couldn't cope. After this came our biggest surprise; Despite “the fact that the staff could not cope”, new people were continuously admitted to the restaurant, which made the restaurant even busier, while the current situation was already unbearable for the staff. Then one of the employees stands at a table chatting for almost fifteen minutes, without even looking into the restaurant to pay attention to other guests. The credibility and patience really went to 0 for us. We told the staff about this and we left hungry, because we just didn't want to be here any longer. It was honestly the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Especially for this crazy expensive price ratio.

Al een aantal jaar komen wij, en bestellen wij voor afhaal, bij Ozzo. De afgelopen 3 keer is de kwaliteit duidelijk achteruit gegaan en afgelopen vrijdag ronduit teleurstellend. De bijzondere ervaring van de hoge kwaliteit is verdwenen en of het nu de koks zijn of een andere oorzaak, ik durf dat niet te zeggen, maar duidelijk is dat het geen bijzondere ervaring meer is en gemiddeld qua smaak.

Wat een heerlijke sushi en cocktails! De barman weet precies wat hij doet en maakt op basis van jouw voorkeuren een heerlijke persoonlijke cocktail. Ook de sushi is super vers en aan te raden!

Top sushi resto. Voldoende keus op de kaart. Nadat bestelling is opgenomen wordt de sushi vers gemaakt. De bediening was super aardig, nam alle tijd en heeft ons goed geadviseerd. De mocktails zijn heerlijk. Wij hoefden helemaal niet lang te wachten op onze bestelling. Alles ging vrij vlot. Is wel aan de dure kant maar voor een keertje moet kunnen. Wij komen zeker nog een keer.

Prijs kwaliteit slecht, erg duur. Niet beter dan andere all you can eat. Weinig keuze in Sushi. Zeer aardige bediening.

Nice atmosphere, great selection of drinks and delicious food. I decided to do a mix of apetizers and I could not be happier. Japanese fried chicken, boneless hoisin ribs and sweet potato fries... Absolutely to die for!!

Eten was heerlijk. Bediening en keuken was erg langzaam waardoor we na elke bestelronde lang zaten te wachten. Vervolgens de melding dat de keuken dicht ging. We gingen voor een enorm bedrag met een nog half lege maag weg. Jammer..

Sushi was really very average, but the yakitori and spring rolls were good. Ordered a carafe of still water for my girls, only to be told by a second waiter that they don't do that (?), and I had to order a 6 EUR bottle instead which is a bit of a needless rip-off. Not exactly cheap either. Was 75 euro for a quite modest amount of food for 1 adult and 2 girls. No deserts or alcohol. Won't be returning.

Dit sushi restaurant in hotel van der Valk Sassenheim is mooi aangekleed. De ambiance is prima. De Sushi is lekker maar niet heel erg bijzonder. De wijnkaart is prima met goede en lekkere huiswijnen per glas.

Echt lekkere sushi. Het is een klein restaurant met iets van 12 tafels en je proeft dat alle sushi ter plekke en pas na bestellen gemaakt wordt. Heerlijk vers en heerlijke smaken. Prijs ligt wel hoger dan een all you can eat variant want je betaald per gerechtje.

Echt heerlijke sushi, de prijs hoor je ons niet over als de kwaliteit er naar is (en dat was zeker het geval). Echter, 20 euro voor 6 kleine stukjes 'gelakte rib' vonden we wel erg karig / prijzig. Smakelijk waren ze overigens wel!

Ziet er gezellig uit met vriendelijke bediening, maar het duurde allemaal wel erg lang en het ging niet echt efficiënt, met duizend excuses van de dame die zei dat ze er alleen voor stond wat op zich vreemd was temeer omdat bij Nest, het ernaast liggende restaurant van Van der Valk, wel vijf mensen liepen. Lees nu dat de traagheid niet echt een uitzondering is. Sushi is goed en lekker en ziet er verzorgd uit.
