The service was good, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. The meat had an unpleasant smell, possibly from freezing, and even the children did not enjoy it. On top of that, the price is very high for what is essentially a standard plate of mixed grilled meat. Sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Our experience was bad, the meat of Kebab is not fresh and cold, and vegetables for salad is withered too, the rice not cooked well. Unfortunately the food is so far to Syria taste.

Very ordinary and has nothing to do with Lebanese food. I didn't like the kibbeh and arayes. The meat tasted strange. Mira's shawarma had a curry flavor!!! Only the good spring rolls. I don't think I'll go back to anything else.

The service is great and so is the treatment, but unfortunately the food is bad and I do not recommend it, especially since there are competing Arab restaurants in quality and price in the same area.

Honestly, canned hummus costs 5 riyals and is too expensive. The shish tawook is burnt and solid, tasteless, colorless, and odorless. The fattoush is acceptable. Tomatoes, lettuce, toasted bread, and bread cost 10 riyals in a small bag. The bill is 230 riyals for two people. Cash is required. No Visa payments.

The restaurant is located in the center of Amsterdam. We ordered a mixed grill, delicious assorted salads, tabbouleh, fattoush, green salad, beetroot salad, ribs, and cold appetizers. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place is very small. We chose a table outside. They offered us tea after our meal. I asked for a cell phone charger, and they did their best to charge it. Their food is halal and delicious.

The restaurant is very expensive

We were at Amsterdam Central and looking for a great halal restaurant. After some searching, we found Palmyra. We ordered the Palmyra Chicken and Shish Taouk. Both dishes were delicious and full of flavor.

Went here based on reviews to try and get away from lunch time rush in a central area and we were first customers in. Food was freshly prepared and cooked and delicious! Great portions and good value for money. Restaurant and toilets could have been a little bit cleaner but it was satisfactory just about.

Super delicious authentic Syrian food. We had a wide selection of cold and hot starters and everything was just brilliant. Friendly and professional staff. ❤️ We especially likedhummus, baba ghanoush and mouhammara. As a dessert we had delicious pistachio baklava, and we were very pleased that they were not that sweet as usual! 😊

Very good food, the seasoning is special. I'm Brazilian, so I'm used to have Syrian food in my country and this restaurant make the experience even more special as the seasoning is a bit different. The service is very good too.

This is an amazing place for Syrian food. The Ayran is homemade, meat is tender and flavorful, and rice and salads are tasteful.

We ordered 3 dishes, 2 of them starters that each cost 10e and were super small. No comments, the third one, which cost €20 and was very small and was lentils with bulgur. We found it super expensive for the small amount of food.

BEST SYRIAN FOOD IN AMSTERDAM! FANTASTIC SHEKAF LAMB AND FALAFEL! I love the Syrian community and caveat I am Orthodox to our Syrian church in Massachusetts but the food was amazing. Very kind owner, gorgeous space and the food was incredible. We ate there twice with my mum on holiday. First I got the lamb Shekaf and it was the best meat cuts I got all trip after eating at many different steakhouses. The falafel was done Syrian style compared to what many Americans or British think of traditional falafel. It has a different taste and consistency with a little bit of a mini donut shape and the oil tastes a bit like socca or to Americans perhaps movie popcorn. Very good. The Mohamra red pepper dip was also a wonderful dish. The owner also makes incredible mint tea and grows and cuts the mint by hand for the tea in house. Very refreshing. The Syrian coffee was also fantastic with in house jasmine and coriander making it different than say Turkish coffee. SUPPORT THE SYRIAN COMMUNITY, GET THE SHEKAF, PALMYRA WILL BE A TREAT FOR YOU.

El Meze es muy bueno y vale la pena intentarlo. Auténtico y bien hecho. La presentación del mismo está bien. Los platos principales - por nuestra parte - era un poco seco y carecía del poco extra. También los precios eran bastante altos en comparación con lo que se obtiene.

A cancelled flight left us adrift in Amsterdam, resigned to a cruel fate of wandering the city’s picturesque waterways and sampling its many stroopwafel vendors. On the way back to Amsterdam’s conveniently connected central station, my eyes fell upon the words Palmyra - Syrian Restaurant, beckoning to me across the street like a reassuring old friend. For our first time dining at a Syrian restaurant we certainly felt welcome, with two hospitable gents attending to us while doing all the cooking and everything else as far as we could make out. We shared the riash (lamb) and a fatoush salad with some rather excellent Syrian tea to accompany. The lamb had been marinated wonderfully. It’s passe to talk about symphonies of flavour at this point - the flavours in this lamb had more in common with the vivacious, emotive Arab pop of Nancy Ajram, whose hits serenaded us as we ate. The fatoush acquitted itself well also, with soaked and crunchy bits of Syrian bread setting off the fresh salad. Stirling stuff!

Dishonest Practices and Poor Service – A Warning to Potential Customers I had a highly disappointing experience at this restaurant in Amsterdam that I feel compelled to share. Payment Issues: When it came time to pay, I attempted to use four different bank cards from reputable banks without any prior issues. To my surprise, all transactions were declined. The owner insisted on cash payments and directed me to an ATM conveniently located nearby. While he attributed the payment problems to issues on my side or with the banks, the circumstances raised suspicions that he preferred cash transactions to possibly avoid declaring income to the authorities. This behavior felt misleading and untrustworthy. Food Quality: The quality of the food was equally disappointing. My meal arrived cold and tasted as though it had been reheated from the previous night. For the price I paid, I expected fresh and well-prepared dishes, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Customer Service: Adding to the negative experience was the owner's unwelcoming and unfriendly attitude. There was no effort to make guests feel comfortable or valued, which made the entire visit unpleasant. Conclusion: Overall, this restaurant fell short in multiple areas, from questionable payment practices to subpar food quality and poor customer service. I would advise potential customers to be cautious and consider other dining options in Amsterdam that prioritize honesty, quality, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Food is waaaay overpriced for the amount served. It took ages to get our food. The salad was not fresh at all, and the cucumbers tasted funny. There was no sauce on the plate, and we had to pay for the bread 😤 The servers are nice people though.

We came to Amsterdam for 5 daye we passed by this restaurant & decided it to try it. The guy was nice & welcoming but the food was really bad & very overpriced, we paid 90 euros for a dish of shish tawook which wasn’t even shish tawook and the wings was only 3 small pieces. Atmosphere is kinda cranky and loud. I would advise to go to a 5 star restaurant since you’d be paying the same price.

Heerlijke gerechten en erg vriendelijke bediening. Alle gerechten met veel zorg klaargemaakt. Enige punt van aandacht zijn de banken. Zo jammer dat die helemaal stuk zijn. Kwaliteit van het restaurant is top, maar die toch wat aan de inventaris.

Thieves! I'm not talking about the exorbitant prices, but when my 3 year old daughter asks for a drink and you are automatically brought back a 33 cl bottle of water already opened, charged 4 euros, without even asking you if you prefer some. mineral water or just a glass of water, it's a steal! Not to mention the high prices for the quantity and quality offered.

My hubby & I recently returned from Amsterdam and we visited the restaurant and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered a vegan platter of tastiness and we weren't disappointed. If you like Lebanese food, definitely give Palmyra a look.
