Pancakes have become quite pricey. Because of this, we ordered a mixed grill... (Same price as a deluxe pancake). Perhaps not the best choice in a pancake restaurant. It was a bit of a sad little plate with pale fries. My parents had a salad with stale pre-sliced ​​baguette (it was hard and dry). The wait staff indicated 'that this could happen and would be passed on to the kitchen'. We will not be eating here again.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. There were about six of us at a table, and yet we had to wait almost an hour and a half before our food arrived. What made it even worse is that during all that time, no one came to our table to tell us anything about the long wait or even offer an apology. For a place that primarily serves pancakes, waiting almost an hour and a half is really unacceptable. We understand that it can be busy, but some communication and a simple apology would have been the least they could have done. Hopefully, the service will be significantly improved in the future.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We ate at Pannenkoekhoes De Stroper both right after our arrival and on our departure day – because we enjoyed it so much the first time. Both the sweet and savory pancakes are excellent. The savory pancake with ratatouille was especially delicious. The portions are generous, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is very friendly. Another plus: dogs are welcome. We highly recommend it – we'll definitely be back on our next vacation!

Tasty pancakes, plenty of choice. Nice desk/corner inside where the children can play. Outdoor playground is good, the trampoline edge is broken for safety reasons and is due for replacement in the short term. But otherwise definitely recommended.

Unfortunately, the pancake house is no longer a treat for children. Converted to serving pancakes (expensive and poor quality (burnt)) and other dishes, it is now a restaurant for the well-to-do "grey wave." The prices of the dishes are no longer affordable and bear no relation to the quality for an average family. It is a shame; it used to be such a lovely spot for a nice end to the day with the kids. It is not the service's fault; they are courteous and friendly.

Because we were always very satisfied with Mister Pancake, we decided to visit the restaurant now that the owner had taken over De Stroper. We bought vouchers via Social Deal. It disappointed us personally; the nachos looked nice but we didn't like them, and we missed the baguette, which is no longer included in the deal. The pancakes were tasty, however, the selection of toppings is much smaller than the pancakes, and the pancakes were very thin. For ice cream, it wasn't soft serve but scoop ice cream with sickly sweet sauce, which we left untouched. For us, despite the cheaper Social Deal price, it is unfortunately not worth a repeat visit. The atmosphere was also disappointing; there were more staff present—6 ladies and 2 gentlemen—than customers, only one other table was occupied, and yet we didn't get our pancakes until 45 minutes after arriving. We ordered a three-course meal through a Social Deal. The restaurant isn't very big, but it does look cozy. Loaded nachos were the starter, but they weren't really loaded. For the main course, we had a sweet pancake with apple (and bacon). The pancake was good, well-filled, and you could really taste the pancake. Finally, we had a dessert of caramel ice cream, vanilla ice cream, nuts, and stroopwafel crumble. I have to warn you about the desserts, though: they're enormous! A whopper of a cup. Very good!

After always going to Mr. Pancake, we had to go here too because the same owner is now running the place. The pancakes were thinner than usual. The wait was 1.5 hours, which is actually unacceptable for a pancake. Too busy or not enough staff. Unfortunately, it was disappointing.

For the first time in our lives, we sent a dish back: all the raisins in the raisin-apple pancake for our one-year-old daughter were charred. We hesitated a lot, because we didn't want to make a fuss, but it's really unhealthy, let alone for a child. We were relieved when the server said, "No problem, ma'am, we'll make a new one," but were incredibly shocked when we received an even more burnt pancake afterward. This time, not only the raisins were charred, but also part of the pancake. Unbelievable. No idea what they were trying to achieve with that, or if it was a statement? I think we sent it back very politely, and a burnt pancake is simply unacceptable, especially for a child. But we quickly ate what we could and left feeling uneasy. Also, for the first time, we didn't leave a tip; it was a very unpleasant experience.

We spontaneously decided to have pancakes here, both savory and sweet, and both were delicious. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the service was very friendly and attentive. If we're ever in the area again, we'd gladly come back.

If you compare it to another pancake house, which some of the people who ate with us did, I'd say it was mediocre. With sliced cheese, pressed ham, and canned pineapple, it was also too expensive. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating.

We enjoyed a delicious meal from the wide selection of savory and sweet pancakes! We had a child with a severe gluten allergy, but even then, everything was arranged to ensure the child was completely gluten-free! Gluten-free pancakes, separate supplies of powdered sugar and syrup. Fantastic! After dinner, the kids could play outside on the trampoline. The place was nicely spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to move around. I did find it a bit lacking in atmosphere. I'm not sure why, but it felt a bit lacking in warmth.

Despite being busy and not having a reservation, we still managed to get a table. The pancakes were delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable.

Just good together with the family

We had a delicious meal with our two children. Upon arrival, a high chair and bib were already waiting for the little one! The play area was also very nicely decorated and there were plenty of toys for several children. The pancakes were generously topped. Just the right amount so you don't feel completely stuffed (or unable to finish the pancake).

Delicious food, great value, super sweet ladies. A very child-friendly place (we also did the gnome walk, highly recommended for small children). Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky with the weather, but the children could still play safely inside. A solid 10/10!

Atmosphere very cozy + staff very friendly here no comments about. However, the pancakes were very disappointing. Previously I always went to Mr Pancake and after hearing that they have taken over the poacher I obviously had to go here. Unfortunately the pancake was wafer-thin and there were considerably less toppings on it than before in Enschede. Very unfortunate, I will not go there anymore because of this.

We went here because it was taken over by Mr. Pancake. But we were shocked by the food. This has been heavily overhauled by shrinkflation. Much thinner than it was at Mr. Pancake, less filling, nothing at the edges even. I hope they will correct this. May cost more if that is the reason.

I clearly expected more from this, especially for that price. Nice on the terrace, friendly service, that was it. Pancakes poorly filled and with tough fake cheese upside down on the plate. The party flags on the pancakes could not raise the level any further. But at least we ate and the taste was reasonable.

Otherwise very tasty, loving food. But strangely the waiter said no capers, but there were capers in the tartar sauce if you ordered it with salmon. But I don't know if it's just in the tartar sauce or if they have capers. I would love to have them on the pancakes :)

Simply fantastic and delicious! We became aware of the restaurant mainly because of the entries in the relevant Internet forums for celiac disease, as our son suffers from gluten intolerance. The staff were perfectly knowledgeable and there was even a separate set of syrup and powdered sugar just for those with celiac disease! Absolute recommendation for people with and without celiac disease!

This was the start of the Heurnetocht in De Lutte. After that time we ate a delicious bacon pancake. And from the owner a contribution to our campaign The Forgotten Child, thank you again.

In the past the food was always delicious and the service was friendly. However, in the last year I have also visited a number of times for a cup of coffee and something tasty during mountain bike rides. Unfortunately, you will be treated less kindly on the terrace (than with your nice clothes on) and it will be difficult because you will have to park your valuable mountain bike a little closer on an almost empty terrace than in the bicycle shed further away where such a bicycle does not fit. To top it all off, we found out yesterday that they have barricaded the terrace with a fence with, you guessed it, bicycles prohibited. The message now is to put your expensive mountain bike/racing bike as far away as possible so that they can easily take it with them, or perhaps: stay away. Empathy, at a pancake restaurant on the edge of the forest, is nil for this target group. Update April 21, 2024: After about 5 years, I gave it another chance, but unfortunately.... We were met at the door by the owner with the pointed question whether we were coming for dinner or coffee. Coffee with something tasty was the answer. We were allowed to sit at the large table. When asked if she had a smaller table, she walked to the larger room behind it and wanted to give us a smaller table right next to other people, while the entire room was empty with reserved tables for the evening, it was 1:30 PM at that time. Partly because these people, logically, did not appreciate the action, we left... In the meantime, we have found out that the restaurant is for sale and we hope that a new owner will do better...

Had a nice dinner with the family tonight, good service and a nice restaurant. Will definitely come back!

As part of our visit to De Lutte, where our group has been staying for a week for many years at group accommodation 't Keampke, the final meal is always at Pannenkoekenhuis "De Stroper". In addition to the relaxed atmosphere and the delicious pancakes, it is always a party for us. Would love to come again next year.
