They were indeed French fries with some fatty cheese and mayonnaise, very delicious. Be prepared to eat standing on the narrow alleyway as there were no spot to sit both inside or outside.

The truffle sauce was delicious, and the potatoes were great too. The only downside was that they were a little cold, but I imagine if they were hot they would be more than 5 stars. Even so, highly recommended.

‘t Pareltje in Amsterdam is an absolute gem. The quality of the fries is outstanding—perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Unfortunately, there was more salt than fries in this meal. We had to throw it away; it was inedible.

Currently the best fries in Amsterdam

The potatoes were delicious, but when I arrived one day an hour before opening, I saw the terrible state of the front door - it was literally covered in trash. This state lasted until the very opening, the employees didn't arrive early enough to prepare their workstations for the day, and what's even worse - they collected all the trash in the same uniforms they wear after working with food before serving! I think this is a violation of sanitary regulations, I don't want to come back here

Oversized portion that's incredibly awkward to eat. Way too much sauce. The fries are completely soggy at the bottom and drowned at the top. The fries were overcooked.

I didn't like the potatoes; they were hard and not soft inside. The best thing is that the place was empty.

5/10 Didn't know anything about their social media, just walked by for some fries. The guy at the door tried to manage two lines in a narrow side street, but the whole system felt odd. They had only two toppings - cheese and garlic, and they were already out of garlic. But had a weird pink mayo instead. Anyways, the fries were just average.

A friend and I drove an hour to get XXL fries. When we arrived, the staff said no because they didn't have enough fries and it was too busy. There were four people standing outside, and the whole rack was overflowing with fries. Very disappointed with this place. They don't want to make money, so...

We got the Large Truffel-Parmesan-Mayo. The wait was only a few minutes and it were some of the best fries we ever had. They were amazing.

The fries are inexpensive, but I don't quite understand the hype. The quality varies quite a bit. Some are really good—absolutely crispy and fluffy. Others are kind of hard inside, as if they weren't fully cooked. You can try them once, but it's not a must.

Don’t understand the hype around these fries, we were the only ones in the shop and had to stand outside once we had ordered to wait for them to be fried again to make them hot. They were so salty and mostly very small and burnt to a crisp which made most of them inedible and meant we had to throw most of them away. Don’t believe the social media hype find somewhere that serves enjoyable edible food.

We had pink mayo (pink-colored mayonnaise – fancy and delicious!) and fries with truffle mayo and Parmesan – an absolute delight. 🍟✨ The portions not only look chicly presented, they also taste great. For my taste, there was perhaps a tad too much mayo, but that's a matter of taste – so it's not a negative point. Add to that the friendly staff and fair prices – all in all, a definite recommendation if you're in Amsterdam! 🇳🇱🔥

Viral fries like those featured on TikTok. Good, yes, I can't say otherwise. They were crispy, the cheese was good, maybe a bit too much truffle mayonnaise. But honestly, I was expecting something else. Would I go back? Probably not, I'd try other places. Do I recommend it? Yes, you have to try them to form your own opinion.

‘t Pareltje is definitely a fun little stop in Amsterdam if you want to try their massive XXL fries — they make for a great photo and a laugh with friends. The place itself has a cool vibe, and the portions are generous. That said, the fries themselves are pretty standard — nothing out of this world — so I wouldn’t go out of my way just for them. It’s more about the novelty and the Instagram-worthy presentation than a must-try culinary experience. Still, it’s worth checking out once if you’re nearby and in the mood for a snack and a bit of fun!

The chips are very good, we took the XL ones, unfortunately in the middle of the cone there is a cap (perhaps to prevent oil or salt from coming out of the cone) and therefore the quantity is half the food.
