Very expensive and too much garlic sauce, even though I asked for just a little bit (falafel wrap). Unfortunately, no mints.

I'll skip this one next time. The coffee was good, but that was about it. Filthy toilets on a quiet Saturday morning. A cappuccino for €3.70 is steep.

SIX euros and fifteen cents for ONE cup of coffee. SIX euros!!!!!! I have been coming to this place my whole life. Always with great pleasure. But this really makes no sense anymore. That they dare to charge this much.

The prices are way too expensive, I had 2 coffees and 1 pastry for €20, I will never come here again.

We thought we were going to have a nice lunch on the terrace, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The service was very slow, there was a large puddle of coffee in the saucer, the croquette sandwiches were cancelled because there were only vegetarian croquettes (???), and when we ordered the omelet as an alternative, we had to throw half of it away because the bottom was charred black. Furthermore, it was nothing special: two eggs on supermarket bread with some lettuce. The staff said they 'felt sorry', but no apology, nothing at all. And the bill was also very disappointing; you get mediocre food for top dollar... Definitely not worth repeating.

What a missed opportunity. The location at Geestmerambacht is beautiful and has enormous potential, but unfortunately, that is where it ends. We had to wait a long time before anyone even came to our table. Several staff members walked past or stood on the terrace without making eye contact or taking the initiative. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be an isolated incident if you read the other reviews. The menu is quite limited, and the price-quality ratio feels unbalanced. Additionally, the place appears to be in need of maintenance in several areas, meaning the appearance does not match such a unique location. It is a real shame, because with more attention to hospitality, a more attractive menu, and better maintenance, this could be a fantastic restaurant. For us, unfortunately, it was not an experience that makes us want to return.

Very poor quality! Unfriendly staff! After a lovely day by the water, you think you're going to have a nice, cozy meal together, but you get a few fries in a container that really isn't worth the price, and then the staff dares to blame a child who comes to order? It was a real waste of my money.

Ordered 2 croquette sandwiches, 14 euros, and what do I get? 2 croquettes and 2 slices of bread. A croquette alone costs 4 euros, so that's 8 euros for 2... so I'm paying 6 euros for 2 dry slices of bread? Please, people, don't waste your money here for a second... pure Dutch milking.

The Caprese toastie for 8.50 euros is totally overpriced. Compared to a fresh croissant with butter and jam (3.50 euros), it is out of proportion. Waited almost 25 minutes for the toastie. Together with the croissant and a coffee, we spent almost 17 euros. We sat comfortably on the terrace and they have high chairs.

A food oasis appears out of nowhere after a long hike! Or if you start there, it's just there, and you still have to struggle... Either way, it's the perfect place to regain strength... or gather courage 😬

Had lunch outside on the terrace. Nice view over the lake. The staff is young and you can tell they are still finding their feet. Advice: be a bit more talkative with the guests. The food was okay. With the bread with avocado, the lettuce was a bit soggy and stale in places. The ham and cheese omelet was a bit small for two slices of bread (price/quality ratio).

Today I ended up on the terrace of Lovers and Hunters. Beautiful view of the water. Drinks arrive quickly. Food, on the other hand, doesn't come. After waiting for half an hour—oh yes, patience—I asked where it actually was. She went to check in the kitchen and indicated that they were busy. When asked how much longer it would take, she said it could take a while, but she couldn't say exactly how long. It would be polite to keep your guest informed. But that probably isn't in their nature.

The 16 euro salmon sandwich was more like an arugula sandwich with a slice of salmon. Definitely not worth the price!!

For just €4, I got a very thin slice of banana bread, less than 1cm thick (see photo), which was quite disappointing considering the size. The bread was also quite dry and lacked the moistness you'd normally expect. For this price, I simply don't think the value for money is right. It really needs to be improved.

Delicious food, cakes, and drinks. However...it really needs a makeover inside. The restrooms, especially the ladies', are completely worn out. Everything is broken, the paint peeling off...a dirty diaper changing mat...the floor tiles are broken...it's simply not acceptable...the kitchen is actually too small for the amount of people there. You can pay separately, and the terrace is fantastic. Owner, close for two weeks!!! There's plenty of income coming in, so renovate the place. Lots of foreign staff who don't speak Dutch either...they work very hard...there's a lot of staff turnover.

The burger there is absolutely disgusting. It looks, smells, and tastes like dog food. You can taste and see that it came from a package. The lemonade was actually syrup from a bottle with water. I wouldn't recommend eating here!

Table service is available, but you can still order drinks at the counter/bar. Service is fast and friendly. The drinks are excellent: cappuccino, latte, mint tea, and Radler lemon (2%), tested for you. The fries (with a choice of several sauces) and toasted sandwiches are also delicious. 👍

Lovers and Hunters is such a cozy place! The view is truly stunning; it's a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The atmosphere inside is also great; the candles create a spacious yet cozy, well-maintained atmosphere. It's also a great place to sit when the weather isn't great. The pink smoothie is highly recommended; it's truly delicious! And it's also great that there are vegetarian options for everything.

Food was disgusting and poor quality. Service was poor and incompetent. Atmosphere: cheap junk. Inside. Mice were crawling under the cabinets near the pastry display... The food inspector should come here sometime...

What a bad business! Half an hour waiting for a French fry at 4.75 and then in a very small bowl with sour peanut sauce from a squeeze bottle. Also the thin unpeeled and baked chips fries are inedible. Staff that walks around with plates like a headless chicken and doesn't know where to go.

The location also had a nice, relaxed atmosphere with a pleasant view and a nice beach-like environment. I felt comfortable during the entire visit. Great place for a snack and a drink

Recently I found myself at Lovers and Hunters, where I had the opportunity to meet a particularly endearing boy. From the moment I entered the door, I was struck by his warm and sincere appearance. He puts his heart and soul into offering everyone an unforgettable experience. I like to return every Sunday because he only works on this day. Although I don't remember his name for sure, I think his name is Lion. What I do know for sure, however, is that he provides the best service you could wish for. His professional attitude, coupled with unparalleled attention to detail, makes every encounter with him special. He works in Sneek and it is always a pleasure to meet him there.

2/2 Been here. Took at least 10 minutes before the order (2 coffees, 2 sweet potato fries and 2 croquettes on bread) was taken. After fifteen minutes I received 2 downright dirty coffees, after another 15 minutes I asked if the food was already on its way. Then we got 2 normal fries. She wanted to solve this very nicely by immediately making 2 sweet potato fries, but we chose to omit the fries and take them off the bill. After this came the croquettes, probably made from old fat (croquettes full of black speckles) and from fat in which other things besides snacks are fried because they smelled like fish. Prices are high, especially when you look at the quality and service. Staff is friendly, but clearly lack teamwork. For example, walking in from the terrace empty-handed while there are plenty of empty glasses, etc., to take with you. The crowds should not be an excuse on a Sunday that had been predicted all week to be a beautiful winter day. We won't be coming back here for a while. Too bad because the location is fantastic.

We sometimes take a walk around the Geestmerambacht. This time on the side of lovers and hunters. What a disappointment. We first had to wait almost 15 minutes to place our order. Then it took almost 15 minutes again to serve 2 cups of coffee Because of this we didn't eat here. In retrospect I am glad because I have now read the reviews.

I used to love coming here, but gosh, what a mockery this is these days! No idea what happened. Just stay outside because someone will come to you to take your order (we wanted to take it with us), helped by a boy who we think is still too young to do that job and who cannot be understood at all. Got ice cream from the summer, ate it there and came to us 20 times with other orders or that of ours. Every time NO, we only have ice cream. Owner (I think) as grumpy as can be and did not speak too kindly about the guests sitting on the terrace. You better close the store or make drastic changes. Ultimately, no one wants to go here anymore. Shame.
