What a step backward! We went there on Sunday, August 30th with a large group, and based on this experience, we will not be returning. Everything went wrong. Orders not noted down correctly 1. Two main courses were simply not written down and therefore never served. How is that possible? Moreover, it turned out there weren't enough ingredients for one dish. One dish and one round of drinks were removed from the bill for this, but it was still awkward. 2. Multiple ordered drinks were forgotten to be brought on several occasions, without any apology. And exactly the same thing happened again during the next round. Main course 3. The spare ribs with the mixed grill were inedible: tasteless and far too greasy. We both had stomach upset from it during the night and the morning after. 4. The sauces were served without spoons. We reported this to the wait staff several times, but nothing was done about it. 5. For a table of 4 people, we received two tiny bowls of fries and an equally small bowl of salad – too little for even one person. At one table, this was even completely forgotten. We reported this immediately and ordered extra fries, but nothing happened there either. Only after a second request and a long wait—by which time the main course was already finished—did we finally receive fries, but without salad. Too little, too late. Overall, the service came across as very amateurish, as if the restaurant was being run entirely by interns on their first day of work. This is not what we were used to from this place.

What a disappointing evening. We have been coming here for years to grab a bite to eat, not very often, but certainly two or three times a year. Just to be safe, we reserved in advance to ensure a spot. Because we couldn't choose between the main courses, we chose a mixed plate, specifically because of the beef shank. However, when it was served, there was no beef shank, but a piece of "tournedos." First of all, it is not polite to mention this when serving. It can be sold out, but let them know in advance so they have a choice! But even more annoying, I have never had such a beautiful piece of meat served so tasteless. A pale, and not tasty piece that, despite an attempt to take a couple of bites, was left untouched. It was simply not good! Unfortunately, the start of the evening didn't get off to a very good start either. The high bench seats were empty, and despite asking if we could sit there, it wasn't possible! (No one sat there for the rest of the evening!) And were we crammed in somewhere in a row of two? After having to wait a long time before we could finally order, after being told twice "sorry, I won't do that, my colleague is coming for that", The setting is nice, beautifully decorated and atmospheric, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The rest was not worth the bill at the end of the evening.

We were there today, and after 20 minutes our drinks finally arrived, even though it was empty. From then on, we were ignored, so we left. I wouldn't recommend it with that kind of service.

I/we didn't think it was great! It was nice, but the food was disappointing in the sense that "everything is fixed"; nothing can be arranged if, for example, you don't like mushrooms... my fries were soggy, and there wasn't really a kids' menu for the children. A thick slice of bread with 1 small tub of Nutella. And if you want to order "a few" fries for the youngest, who is not even 3, that's not possible, only a big plate? Cappuccino had no foam layer, got a new one, again without a foam layer. All in all... very disappointing! I would have preferred to pay a bit more and for it to be better than it was! A cup of coffee with something sweet, fine! A snack platter would probably be okay too, but this wasn't good. Sorry.

The dishes were mixed. My mother really liked her shrimp burger, and my daughter's spareribs were also good. My husband had the beef brisket; it was nice and tender. Unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment for me. I had ordered the beef salad, but I really didn't like it. It contained an awful lot of liquid, making the whole salad very watery. I usually love carpaccio, so I was quite disappointed. We mentioned this to the waitress who served us and asked if she would pass it on to the kitchen. Unfortunately, we haven't heard anything back about it since. I thought that was a shame; a little feedback would have been nice. The restaurant itself is really beautiful and has a lovely atmosphere, which is why we had high expectations. That is precisely why it was a pity that the food was such a letdown for me.

Coffee with apple pie... last year I ate delicious apple pie, but this time it was a huge disappointment. Although it was a large slice, in our opinion it felt like it had just come out of the freezer and needed to thaw. The coffee was actually finished by the time the apple pie arrived and was ice cold, so it wasn't pleasant and a waste of my money.

Basically a nice place, with good service and tasty food, but I find the layout with the playground unsafe. Children are allowed to go to the beach through a tube in the fence, but as a parent you are not allowed near them because you have to pay for the beach. So if something happens to your child, you can't even get there quickly. Really not okay.

We were there at 1:15 PM and nothing was said about the fact that we could only get drinks. Finally, they came to take our drinks and told us that lunch and drinks were not being served. This is very bad. They should have said so immediately. It is obviously not a problem if the staff can't handle it. But unfortunately, we left. It is a real shame; it is a beautiful building.

What a nice spot. By the water, busy, but fortunately with enough staff. Friendly and fast. Drinks arrive quickly, and so does the food. The quality is good too. What more could you ask for? Nothing to complain about with the toasted sandwich. The carpaccio with bread is truly a complete meal. They didn't skimp on the carpaccio. Coffee and tea are perfectly fine. And everything at reasonable prices. It's just that it's quite a long way from our neighborhood, otherwise we would come more often.

Paviljoen Nijstad is a beautiful location, but unfortunately, the service and catering were very disappointing. It was clearly communicated in advance that there were several vegetarians in the party, yet the majority of the dishes consisted of meat. Additionally, I have a cow's milk intolerance, which I mentioned several times. Unfortunately, this was not taken into account at all. As a result, for example, I could not eat soup or pastries, and no suitable alternative was offered. While the rest of the party could enjoy the food, I was left empty-handed. That felt very disappointing and unprofessional. It is a shame, because the beautiful location deserves service that better meets the needs of its guests.

Had a nice meal. Ordered a platter with various appetizers here. It was quite warm, causing the desserts to melt. It might be a good idea to bring these later.

I think it's great for lunch!! Dinner is a bit less impressive, but going to the high beer and high wine is highly recommended.. On Saturdays from 9:00 PM! 👍

We were here tonight. We were sitting on the terrace at 20:05. The first drink order went quite smoothly. But when you then have to wait 50 minutes for the menu and a new round after indicating it multiple times, that is really sad. We gave it a chance then, because, well, mistakes happen. But if you then have to wait another 30 minutes with a closed menu on the table to order, you clearly haven't learned your lesson. Fortunately, McDonald's was faster and didn't disappoint as much as Nijstad. Never again for us!

Today (8-7-26 12:30) I ordered a cheese omelette. Unfortunately, this was a major disappointment. The cheese was rock hard and dried out, as if it had been fried for far too long. The egg yolks were also completely dry, whereas with an omelette you expect a nice soft yolk. For such a simple dish, you should expect the base to be just right. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. All in all, downright bad.

I ate mushroom risotto, but unfortunately, it was not prepared well. It presumably came from the freezer, and the risotto rice had absolutely no bite left. I informed the wait staff that the risotto was not good and mentioned it again later when paying the bill, but I still had to pay the full amount. It was all very disappointing.

We had a fantastic meal, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was cozy.

OnceAfter arriving at the restaurant, I sat down at the only free table in the smoking area. It was not cleared but it was not a problem for us. I saw a waitress and called her to get rid of it, saying that we couldn't order because those before us hadn't paid yet. It wasn't a problem, we said we were waiting and she wiped the table in mockery leaving many traces and even traces of food on the table. In the meantime a table was released and we wanted to move by the water (we were 4 people) But the girl said we can't because that's a mass of 6 people and we are two couples. I stayed there without any problems, I placed the order and after 10 minutes the food came but the drinks didn't. We started eating and the drinks came after 5 minutes. (something like this has never happened to me before, eating before drinks) After I finished eating I asked for another beer. I didn't receive it even after 25 minutes when I decided to go and pay. I asked to speak to a restaurant manager and after explaining the whole situation, being an unpleasant experience, he said a simple "Sorry".

The staff were uninterested and unfriendly. We had to wait a very long time for our drinks. And when I asked for the menu, I got a sarcastic remark from a waiter. It was also indicated that we wouldn't be served our food at the same time. Because of that, we just left. What a disgrace!

It was well taken care of again

Last Sunday we wanted to have drinks. The terrace wasn't full, but once again we couldn't have drinks. The drinks menu was closed because the kitchen wasn't up to speed and they couldn't handle the volume. This isn't the first time; unfortunately, it has happened multiple times in a short period. It is my favorite place, though it is becoming less and less so.

Cozy and great as for the food, had a delicious lunch with our family.

We had a lovely, quiet lunch here this afternoon! Even with the warm weather, it was particularly pleasant here today because there was a lovely "sea-like" breeze! We had the Share Lunch, and it was more than enough for both of us!

Sloppy service, dirty tables and floors. We had to wait over fifteen minutes to order a drink, even though we were being seated. We also had to wait for the menu. My suggestion: appoint someone who can manage the restaurant. Other guests were also unhappy. L

We had to wait for our food for over an hour because they had forgotten about us. Then, when our food finally arrived, the fries were cold and they said they would bring new ones, but that didn't happen. We then spoke to a staff member to explain that we had already finished our meal and the fries still hadn't arrived, but apparently the staff member didn't do anything about it, because nothing came. Eventually, the manager apologized and gave us a free drink and dessert.

Horrible experience. Not only did they completely skip one of the drinks we ordered, but when we asked about it, the staff acted as if it was no big deal and casually dismissed it without an apology. To make matters worse, when we asked to pack our leftovers, they just handed us the box. When I politely asked for a bag, the staff checked and came back with a look of pure annoyance, bluntly saying they didn’t have any. It’s fine if they don't have bags, but treating a customer like a nuisance and dismissing their mistakes is unacceptable. Terrible service, completely ruined our evening."

Fine. The food isn't exceptional but decent. The cocktail was delicious. The service was absolutely top-notch. Great seating.

I ate here on Wednesday, May 27. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. I ordered a risotto. It was tasteless. Very peculiar; it really had no flavor at all. A few stray sun-ripened tomatoes and some (sweet) olives didn't do it any favors. They didn't fit the dish at all. The staff (who, by the way, were mostly very busy talking to each other) did resolve this and replaced the risotto with a Caesar salad. I thought, little can go wrong with that. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Soaked in sauce with tasteless pieces of chicken. Really not tasty. When we wanted coffee and dessert afterwards, it took at least 20 minutes before we managed to get a waiter's attention. Dessert was fine, though. I had a shared lunch here recently, which was really good. The ambiance is also great. But the dinner, not recommended.

We had lunch at Paviljoen Nijstad today. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our drinks. After that, we were served the fries in advance, with the message that the lunch dishes would be arriving shortly. Since we were already hungry, we ate the fries immediately. However, we then had to wait another 40 minutes for two lunch dishes. We found that to be a very long time, especially since we had been told that the food was arriving soon. The quality of the food was fine, but due to the long wait and the communication regarding the expected serving time, the lunch did not go as hoped. It is a shame, because that significantly affected our experience. Hopefully, the service will be improved in this regard.

Unfortunately, very disappointed. The sharing platter was only available for two people or more, and what was on it was very mediocre and meager for 30 euros. Also, a drink was forgotten at least four times, and we asked multiple times if the order had been received correctly. In those instances, we didn't receive the same thing we had ordered, but unfortunately, the wrong drink. The hot chocolate was cold and the cola was warm. Everything was extremely expensive, not all the staff were easy to talk to, and it sometimes took up to an hour for the wrong drink to arrive. Not recommended.

Friendly staff and service. Starters good. Main courses were very disappointing. No flexibility to easily modify a dish. The braised beef did not taste good. The prawn burger detracts from the taste of the prawns; the bun and chips served with it remind me of a lunch from a bad cafeteria. I went home with a stomach ache. 2 types of fries is not very original. The food service was neither very communicative nor friendly. Table too small for 2 people. Too expensive for the poor quality provided. No second time for us.

I've been to Paviljoen Nijstad many times. Always nice. The last time, at Easter, we found the shared lunch a bit disappointing. A lot of bread and not much savory food. Otherwise, the service was top-notch again.

Nothing but praise for this restaurant. We come here regularly, so that says enough. A huge selection of cocktails! Just tasty, basic but good food. Also great fun for the kids when the weather is nice!

Friendly staff. Good, tasty food with a good price-quality ratio. There is also a lovely little beach, ideal for parents with children.

Had lunch with a dear friend of mine. Ordered a vegetarian platter, which turned out to be a lot of sweets, but that's less my thing. I'd rate the food as average. It is a hip spot by Drenthe standards though, very nice.

I give training sessions in the halls here, and everything is always perfectly organized! Friendly staff, perfect lunch (abundant!!), and plenty of snack service for the participants. Beautiful location that is also decorated in a really chic style. Highly recommended: press the button in the restroom and you will come back full of energy!!!

We had dinner there last night with my husband, children, and grandchildren. Everything was well taken care of and the food was delicious. They also went to great lengths for the little ones. Highly recommended!

Been there 3 times and yesterday didn't even order anything. Everything takes a very long time. Too long. We came for lunch and were allowed to find a spot ourselves. After sitting at a table with only a cocktail menu for fifteen minutes at 11:30, we still hadn't seen anyone at our table. Instead, 5 staff members were hanging around the bar. We knew that you need patience here, but that you can eat, drink, and sit comfortably, but this was truly the very last time for us.

She had better avoid it at Christmas.

Really great. Fast service, nice atmosphere, good prices. For 4 specialty drinks (delicious chocolate milk, boba drink, lemonade, tai tea) and the lunch platter for 2 (2 burgers, 2 cups of soup of your choice, 2 croquettes, 8 half slices of luxury bread, 6 desserts, and sandwich toppings), I spent 55 euros, including tip for 2 people. So, nothing to complain about. Delicious and top-notch!

We wanted to have drinks with four people, one of whom was vegetarian. Unfortunately, the vegetarian platter couldn't be ordered for one person, which wasn't even on the menu. When we asked, they were also negative. I don't understand why everything says "for two people" except for the platter. The staff was quite irritated.
