Food was not great, and had to wait an hour for the main course. Skipped dessert as we were already waiting for 2 hours. Cannot recommend for vegetarians

This is truly a destination you'll want to revisit. Situated on a beautiful lake with woods for shade and numerous sandy beaches for children. It's also an ideal destination for children, whether it's on the beach, in the water, enjoying fries or ice cream, and so on. The ice cream sorbet was delicious and served in a special bowl, not a sorbet glass—a real change of pace, fantastic. The surroundings are so beautiful that you have to swallow twice to realize it's actually there.

It was still quiet, although confusing, we were not allowed to enter the terrace via the beach.

What an embarrassing place, everything is fake, kitsch, bad service, and completely uninspired

Very nice location. Excellent and very clean ambiance. Friendly and professional staff, both serving and receiving (read: other). Free parking, plenty of space. Wheelchair accessible. Reasonably priced, with a wide selection of menus and snacks. A waterfront terrace is also available.

Reason for 1 star less for Service: It was still quiet, and the service was actually a bit on the fast side. A little more time between them would have been nice.

We sat outside with the dog. Lovely by the water. Delicious coffee, wonderful pastries. Friendly service.

5 Stars – A Perfect Lunch Stop with a View! We were on our way back to catch the ferry and found this place thanks to a quick Google search and we’re so glad we did! 😁👍🏼 The decor is contemporary and plush, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table by the window, which offered a stunning view over the lake, absolutely beautiful and a lovely backdrop for our meal. The restaurant was clearly popular and buzzing with people, always a good sign. The lunch menu was varied, well-priced and had something for everyone. Two of us shared the lunch platter for two, it was delicious, generous, and clearly a favorite, as we saw lots of other tables ordering it too. The platter for four was an absolute showstopper about a meter long! Service was friendly and efficient, and our food came out quickly, even during a busy lunch rush. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left very satisfied. Highly recommended for anyone passing through or in the area a great find! 👌🏼

A nice cozy place on the water.

I thought the garden was beautifully landscaped and maintained. We had a lovely spot inside. The food was very good and delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant.

Mooie omgeving, fijne sfeer, heerlijke sharing lunch, welke ook meer dan voldoende was. Ook lekkere verse echte jus d’orange . We hadden een heerlijke middag en zaten daar echt op ons gemak op het flink volle terras. Heel erg fijn was het ontvangst en vooral de enorm fijne bediening. Dit maakte het helemaal af. The ambiance is something different, pure beach feeling. The food is delicious, even the leather is ready-made, and the sauce on the chicken could be lighter. The burgers taste good and are recommended. It's definitely worth a visit.

Wij hebben bij Paviljoen Nijstad een babyshower gehad voor onze vriendin met een shared lunch. Van ter voren goed contact gehad over de mogelijkheden en het eten was super! Er werd fijn meegedacht en zo is het een onvergetelijke middag geworden!

A half-hour drive from where we live, we discovered Paviljoen Nijstad. What a wonderful place to spend time, with something for everyone: play, swim, take a lovely walk, and enjoy fantastic food in the restaurant while enjoying the beautiful view. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful waterfront location with ample gluten-free options at a reasonable price. For lunch, we had a roast beef sandwich and a chicken sandwich. The sandwiches are generously filled, and the service is very fast and attentive.

Lovely spot by the water. Beautifully designed. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The food isn't particularly special for the price. There are gluten-free options, and the bread from the freezer is warmed up, but it's better than nothing. The place gets extra points. There are even tables with swings outside. Friendly and attentive staff.

Just had lunch at this beautiful spot by the water; you feel like you're in a beach bar. 😁 So beautiful location, delicious food, friendly and efficient staff. Don't ask how much it cost because I was treated. All in all, a wonderful experience. ☀️

This is a really great place to go. The location on the beach is lovely, and the decor is beautiful. There's comfortable seating both inside and out. The food is delicious. The service is fast and friendly... Hats off! Many restaurants and cafes could learn from this.

De "uiterlijkheden" zijn prima. Aan het water, mooi uitzicht, hippe tent, genoeg personeel die "volgens het boekje" functioneren. (Op)gemaakte sfeer, best lawaaierig en het eten is "zo zo". Zo zijn de hoeveelheden (sharing diner) best veel en komen snel achter elkaar, het hoofdgerecht bestaat uit grote "hompen" (weinig smaakvol) vlees. Prima hoeveelheden voor opgroeiende pubers die zonder te proeven alles naar binnen "schrokken", maar voor de gemiddelde volwassene mag het wat ons betreft iets minder en vooral verfijnder zijn. Een mooi bedacht concept maar niet voor de fijnproever die een avondje gezellig willen eten. We komen er vast nog een keer, voor een drankje of zo.

The meat was delicious, but there was a major drawback. We booked at 6:30, and the main course arrived around nine. Fifteen minutes after the meat had been gone, they still brought the side dishes. One star for the friendly service. One time, never again. Luckily, you don't have to pay for parking per hour.

Food was great and they thought along with dietary requirements. Service was personal and also thought along with us. Beautiful surroundings. Too bad about the noise button in the toilet. That's why no 5 stars.

For a nice beach vibe this is recommended especially because you are in Drenthe😀 Food is just good. We had shared Dinner. Tasty and sufficient. Young guys working, one is faster than the other but hey, that's the age/experience. More than sufficient and we will definitely go there again. Great prices for what you get and for the good beach vibe.

Relaxed hangout in a fantastic spot on the water. Friendly, attentive, hip (Jake Paul! You here?) staff. Despite the fact that it was packed, the food was on the table quickly. Surprising menu. We had the shared lunch for 2 people and it was very extensive: croquette sandwich, cup of soup, hamburger sandwich, satay and various sweets. Perfect! Will come back for dinner soon.

You can have lunch here, but I think dinner is a bit less. It takes a very long time before the side dishes are served.

A shared lunch for Easter. Couldn't get vegetarian for 2 so we opted for the meat. Meat was cold, the layout was unimaginative, some chocolate eggs were added to spice it up. This is also indicated. The response was: yes, that shouldn't be the case. And never heard anything back. Too bad and no service! The place is great, but you don't have to go there for the food.

Mijn ouders dachten voor mijn moeders haar 75e verjaardag hier een familiediner voor 12 personen te hebben gereserveerd. Dit is zelfs op de locatie zelf met een medewerker een aantal weken voorafgaand doorgesproken: de tafel, het eten, etc. Bij aankomst werden we als familie in een snikhete serre geplaatst, waar de zon ons fel in de ogen scheen, en drie grote ronde tafels (die nog verschillend in hoogte waren ook) snel tegen elkaar aan waren geschoven. Dit leverde een situatie op waarbij sommigen van ons met de ruggen tegen elkaar aan moesten zitten. Wat bleek? De tafel die was toegezegd, was al bezet. De dame die ons te woord stond, brabbelde geheel volgens het boekje, zogenaamd vriendelijk, maar de boodschap was duidelijk: er was geen oplossing. Punt. Er werd geen manager bijgehaald, en we moesten het er maar mee doen. Zeer verdrietig voor mijn ouders die dachten dat ze het goed geregeld hadden. Een paar weken eerder de moeite hadden genomen naar de locatie te komen en zaken door te spreken. Aangezien de hitte in de serre verschrikkelijk was en er weinig moeite werd gedaan iets anders aan te bieden, zijn we maar weer weggegaan. Het was nog lastig elders last minute op zaterdagavond voor een groep van 12 personen iets te krijgen, en uiteindelijk zijn we bij Chinees restaurant Peking in Meppel uitgekomen. Daar hebben we de situatie uitgelegd, en daar werd pas écht duidelijk wat gastvrijheid is. Maar Paviljoen Nijstad? Nee, voor ons nooit meer. Wat een verschrikkelijke tent zeg.

Great stopover for a good lunch and some work in between!

When we came there for the first time in early December last year, we thought it would be worth repeating. How great was the disappointment on our recent visit. Reserved for five people, but would be seated at a table suitable for four. According to the staff, these tables were suitable for six people. We think that you are then much too cramped and have not accepted that. They were then referred to a place directly in the low sun, where such protection was not possible. They also did not accept that place and in the end they took a seat at a table with four, according to them, six people, but added an extra chair. After this musical chairs, the vegetarian menu was very disappointing. It was also terribly noisy in the entire hall due to the crowds

I had a very nice time there with my girlfriend and had a delicious lunch and hospitable service. Worth repeating!

Geen fijne ervaring, dan reserveer je voor 12 mensen EEN lange tafel omdat je oma jarig is en vervolgens moeten we aan 3 mini tafels gaan zitten, terwijl er in de reservering stond dat het geen probleem was als we een bepaalde tafel uitkozen. Erg jammer

Delicious food in a beautiful location!

Delicious lunch. The Caesar salad was incredibly tasty and the ingredients were exactly as they should be. The duo pork sandwiches were also very tasty. The service was very friendly and really did their best to please us, which they did very well. We think the music could be a little quieter. We had reservations and that was good because it was busy.

Had lunch here. Delicious and quick on the table. Busy but sufficiently staffed and well organised.

I've been here twice now, both times a success! It is a pity that you do not change the layout of the plate for the various main courses. So with every dish you get a pear, a little corn and mashed potatoes. I thought that was a shame, as you could do much more with it, for example by tailoring it to the dish. Furthermore, the dishes tasted good and we went home feeling full.

Nice place, too bad I have to sit with Roy here. It takes a long time until someone comes.
