Nice place. We were hoping for something a bit darker, but this was perfectly fine too. Tasty Swinckels and Weihenstephaner on tap and Rodenbach Fruitage in bottles. Friendly and quick staff. A young man spontaneously held the door open for two older ladies. That shows they're well-made. The bar snacks were tasty and the flamkuchen carpaccio was a very good choice. I'd like to say we'll be coming here for drinks/dinner more often, but from Utrecht that's really too far...hehe. One small tip: make sure the beers are poured right up to the line; they are quite expensive.

The staff couldn't even manage a smile. The frothed milk in the cappuccino was tasty, though.

Truly a top-notch restaurant with very friendly staff and fun videos on social media. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, naturally prepared by top chef Gelco.

You call to reserve a table and are told it's not possible. Then they say it isn't necessary anyway, because it's not busy. You arrive 20 minutes later, it's packed, but there's only one table free. "Yeah, but that one is already reserved..." So I'm never coming here again.

Good restaurant with tasty food and friendly staff, but the staff are crazy about dogs and never wash their hands afterwards. Seen this here multiple times. This is really disgusting!!!

A great, cozy, and lovely place to enjoy a nice lunch. You can sit comfortably with a view of the main street and the Schutstraat. In the summer, you can also sit outside.

What a charming, cozy city cafe! The mustard soup was delicious, as was the beautifully dressed toasted sandwich. Highly recommended!!

We love coming to Het Schippershuus. The food is excellent, and the menu is thankfully modest and therefore excellent. Plenty of choice. Also the varying monthly specials, often surprising and tasty. But we prefer coming for the steak with spicy gravy! Very good, best in town! And to think that you are in a building that is almost 400 years old! Very nice little restaurant. Very nicely decorated with old lamps, among other things. Good service by friendly staff and the food was delicious.

One of the better places to have lunch in Hoogeveen. However, we were disappointed with the food last time. The chicken burrata sandwich was served without burrata, without any prior mention. As far as I'm concerned, it would be better to ask beforehand if this is okay.

(Stars given by family) We were here on a very busy day, so we expected our food to take a while. But this was insane.. about 45 minutes for 2 sandwhiches and a salad. When we mentioned it a bit slightly to the waiter, He said he had "no idea what's going on". Great.. Food was warmly served and sauce was cold. I liked the design here, but it was very overwhelming. Reccomended on a calm day.

We had a lovely coffee and some treats here yesterday. The service was cheerful and friendly, and everything was brought quickly. We sat wonderfully on the terrace. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves. The only downside was the busy street on the side. But we definitely think this place is worth a visit and recommend it if you are in charming Hoogeveen.

Had a delicious lunch today. Fast service and affordable meals. They occasionally ask if you'd like another drink. The staff were super friendly, and the Flammkuchen with carpaccio was truly delicious. An affordable place for a delicious meal.

Went here last year, everything was great, food, service, and atmosphere. Went again yesterday and the food is still excellent, hats off to the chef, but the service is disappointing. A group of young women who are having a great time together but don't pay attention to the guests. What I don't understand is why, as an owner, you don't pay more attention to that.

Nice place to sit. The staff is oblivious to customers asking questions; they're far too friendly with each other and stand with their backs to the front patio. The owner needs to train the staff better.

Drie perfect gebakken biefstukken met 2 heerlijke soorten sla, gekookte asperges en een lekkere bak friet. Een goed glas wijn erbij en als vooraf hadden we aspergesoep waar 2 heerlijke halve sneden vers brood bij zaten. Plus attente en vriendelijke bediening, in een gezellige ambiance. Ga zo door!

Ate here for the 2nd time. The food was good. There was sufficient service, but we had to ask for a drink ourselves. The waiter did not come to order the food either. Finally we were asked if everything was satisfactory.

Turned away because we didn't want a place for people who had reserved. We were there at 3 p.m. and at half past four a reservation item was dumped on our table. With the request to sit elsewhere. Stunned and questions about this were answered unclearly. So they haven't moved. Around half past seven the bigg boss finally came with the request to move. Didn't do it but were also no longer served drinks. The only bright spot was free food and drinks. My question is still why? Went there regularly, but this is where the story of Schippershuus ends. Have never been treated so badly. But there are more places where you can eat and drink deliciously. SCHIPPERSHUUS NEVER AGAIN.

Beautiful location. We had lunch here. Tasted excellent. A heavy downpour didn't bother us, we sat nice and dry on the terrace. The interior of this company is fantastic and attractive. I wonder how a disabled person can get to the toilet on the first floor.

Good food and excellent prices. Sat here with a group of friends. To the right of the entrance they have a separate alcove where we had a very nice private sitting.

After walking for miles we passed here. Had a nice coffee and a piece of cake. The service is smooth (almost too smooth, you have to know what you want before you are properly seated) but friendly people. We sat in the morning sun

Omdat we iedere avond ruim een uur wandelen nemen we zomers altijd een kopje koffie bij IJssalon Toscane en in de herfst en winter bij het Schippershuus. Nu we na een lange zomerperiode weer bij het Schippershuus waren hoefden we geen bestelling te plaatsen. We kregen de vraag:"Nog altijd een zwarte koffie en een Latte." en ons antwoord was als altijd :"Ja graag." Dat is pas service en je klanten kennen.
