It was very tasty. The view wasn't very beautiful, but when the sun is shining nicely you can sit outside and enjoy good food and drinks. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you can get a full meal for around 22 euros.

Paviljoen Struis remains one of my favorite spots for breakfast and lunch. The extensive breakfast is varied and the quality of the products is good. The eggs, in particular, are delicious, and I appreciate that you can also order everything separately. This is also a good place for lunch. The portions are generous, and the fried fish fillet I had was really big, fresh, and well-seasoned. Adjustments are no problem; the staff is welcoming and helpful if you want to leave something out or replace something. The hospitality industry is pricey everywhere these days, but here you definitely get value for money. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and quiet. It is also suitable for families and larger groups. For children, there is a separate menu with simple options, such as a sandwich with Nutella or jam. There is ample parking right outside, and the restaurant is easily accessible, although as far as I know, there is no accessible toilet. You can look out over the water from the side. The restaurant is situated somewhat strangely in a sort of industrial area, but you hardly notice that on the terrace or inside. The only downside is that there is often a shortage of staff. As a result, a large part of the terrace is sometimes closed, and you occasionally have to wait a bit longer. Fortunately, the wait is not extreme, and the staff remains friendly and hardworking. Food Good quality, generous portions, and plenty of variety. The extensive breakfast is complete, and the eggs are very tasty. The fried fish fillet was large, fresh, and well-seasoned. Adjustments or dietary requirements are usually not a problem. Service Welcoming and friendly staff who are very helpful. Due to staff shortages, you sometimes have to wait a bit longer, and part of the terrace is closed, but the staff continues to work hard and remain helpful. Atmosphere Quiet, clean, and cozy. Suitable for breakfast, lunch, families, and larger groups. Accessibility The restaurant is easily accessible for people with mobility issues. As far as I know, there is no accessible toilet. Parking Spacious parking lot directly in front of the door. Child-friendliness Suitable for children. There is a special children's menu with simple options, such as a sandwich with Nutella or jam. Location and view The restaurant is situated in a somewhat unexpected spot in a sort of industrial area. Inside and on the terrace, you hardly notice this. To the side, you can look out over the water.

Had a lovely lunch on Father's Day. The food was tasty and the service was friendly. It was just a shame that the terrace wasn't fully open. Because of that, we couldn't sit outside.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. Upon entering, we were greeted kindly, although the hostess came across as somewhat curt. I ordered a carpaccio sandwich, but this was without a doubt the worst carpaccio I have ever eaten. The meat was watery, needed a lot of salt, pepper, and truffle mayo, and was not tasty; it tasted as if it came straight from the freezer. After a few bites, I left the sandwich and pointed this out to the wait staff when they came to clear it (at my request). I found the reaction perhaps even more disappointing than the food. The response was very nonchalant, with the remark that "everything comes from the freezer" and that they have never received any complaints about this. There was no understanding or apology; a simple response like "That's unpleasant to hear" or a small gesture, such as offering a cup of coffee, would have been polite. They said they would look into it. When we wanted to pay, only the amount was mentioned without further explanation. When I personally inquired about the outcome of the inquiry, I was told that the chef simply thought the carpaccio was good. I found that a peculiar response; apparently, my complaint was completely brushed aside with that. No solution or compensation was offered whatsoever. It is a shame, because a complaint doesn't have to be a problem if it is handled professionally. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. For me, that is reason enough not to return here.

Highly recommended! Everything is perfect here: a beautiful, spacious terrace, an incredibly sweet and hospitable hostess, and a team that provides lightning-fast and friendly service even during the heat. The calamari were perfectly crispy and the club sandwich was generously filled and deliciously fresh. We had a fantastic meal and enjoyed the hospitality. We will undoubtedly be back soon!

Fast service! Very nice people!

We enjoyed some drinks on the terrace and ate some tasty nachos! With the beautiful warm weather It was a bit busier, so I understand that the staff don't always realize how long ago they were last there, hence the 4 stars. Occasionally, they could have come by a bit more often to ask if we wanted another drink. Once again, it was busy and I didn't have to wait for hours! The food was very good, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice.

One of us knew this pavilion from business lunches, so we decided to stop by for lunch on a weekend trip. The location is nice, there is good parking, but the service was very poor (there were plenty of staff walking around, but they didn't pay any attention at all). The food arrived before the drinks, because it was "busier at the bar than in the kitchen," according to the owner, I believe. Otherwise, the food was okay. Not worth going to again.

Had another delicious meal at our neighbors' yesterday. Delicious cod fillets and the fries were also wonderfully fried. Compliments to the kitchen and staff as well. Lovely service 😁

What a lovely place! Paviljoen Struis offers a great vibe and a beautiful view of the water from a perfect spot by the window. The menu is full of interesting choices, the food is incredibly tasty, and the service is super friendly and down-to-earth. Moreover, thanks to the fun play area for the children, it is an ideal and relaxed location for the whole family. Highly recommended!

What a disaster! On the terrace, after 20 minutes, I went to find a waitress myself to order. Ordered 2 drinks and a portion of bitterballen. After 5 minutes, the cold bitterballen arrived, burst open. After another 15 minutes, still no drinks. Left the bitterballen untouched and left. My patience had really run out. ...the owner responds... "A little patience is needed these days." Waiting over 40 minutes to get a drink on the table, including ordering, seems like enough patience to me. I saw several people walk away.

What a wonderful experience at Paviljoen Struis! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome thanks to the caring and hospitable staff. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious and clearly prepared with care. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The value for money is excellent. In addition, the location is truly beautiful, which makes the whole experience even more special. There is a lovely, large terrace overlooking the water. A place where hospitality and quality come together – we will definitely be back!

Sparse, loveless, and unimaginative, for just a little too much money. Had lunch here yesterday. Due to my sister-in-law's vegetarian lifestyle and the impromptu decision to grab a bite to eat, we chose Struis. So, this place is now on my personal blacklist. I already had the feeling earlier that things could be better (certainly for *that* price), and now I know for sure. - The service could definitely be a bit quicker. Right from the moment we stepped inside, and also afterwards when we wanted to have the rather meager "basic equipment" replenished (salad dressing or oil). The oil that arrived, in a miniature milk jug, was at best a sip of sunflower oil of the cheapest possible kind. In between, we had to make frantic gestures to get the attention of the wait staff, who were busy talking amongst themselves. - The men's toilet was tidy, but the cleaning staff had forgotten to turn the tap handle back to "cold." I didn't notice and burned my hand. Thanks to a quick reflex and a generous splash of cold water, that was the end of it. It's great for legionella control that the water was so hot, but you don't need to shower here.... a child could just as easily get into trouble. Moreover, the point of screamingly hot water at a small fountain near a toilet block escapes me. - I would call the food downright sad. Devoid of any form of "love for the culinary profession" or imagination in its most basic form. A salad consisting predominantly of half a bag of salad mix from the cheapest supermarket chain, dumped onto a plate with complete abandon. Supplemented with a meager child's hand of ingredients that might have added some flavor or value, and drenched (sorry, too broad a term for this) in "dressing." Whatever-dressing, basically. Hardly to be found, and when you ask for oil, someone comes along with two small plastic packets of honey—perhaps the better option in hindsight. My brother chose the 2 croquettes on bread. These were 2 half slices of middle-class brown bread. Not a scrap of butter was to be found. Mustard, however, was plentiful. As a garnish, there was a hopeless dollop of mixed salad greens that could have gone straight to the neighbors' rabbit, although it might well have turned up its nose at it too. I myself had the "loaded sweet potato fries", *with* pulled chicken (for €4 extra). The sweet potato, which turns from a limp mess into burnt black in the deep fryer in no time, was barely cooked. I'll count that as a plus point. The pile of obscure toppings on top was quite easy to get down, possibly due to the sauce from the pulled chicken running through. That "pulling" still had to be done, though, because the chunk of crusted chicken was still quite solid under its new skin. The stemmed beer glass I received had already had a minor accident: a piece was already missing from the base. You won't die from that, but it does radiate the same lovelessness and disinterest as the rest. In short, where all those 5/5-star reviews come from is completely unclear to me. Perhaps from the same troll supplier as that singer we haven't heard from since? If things don't get better here than this, as far as I'm concerned, they deserve the same future.

Yesterday, my friend and I visited this place, but unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience. One of the older waitresses treated us in a very rude and dismissive way. We were the only non-Dutch customers there, and her attitude seemed directed specifically at us, which made the situation feel uncomfortable and discriminatory. She even made an inappropriate comment about how we were sitting, which was both unnecessary and unprofessional. It was a very disappointing and upsetting experience overall. Response to your non-apologetic reply; Let me be very clear, the way you communicate with customers is completely unacceptable. Your response was rude, disrespectful, and honestly embarrassing for a business. Even if there was a misunderstanding, that does NOT justify the way you spoke to me. On top of that, making comments about how I was sitting was completely out of line and unprofessional. If you’re running a business, you seriously need to learn basic customer service and respect. This was a terrible experience overall and to be honest, the coffee was just as bad. Also, I wrote my comment in English, and you replied in Dutch. That’s just careless and makes no sense. Do better.

We usually come when the terrace is open because of our dog Charlie, who always gets a tasty cookie there. Whether you come for the oysters, a pokebowl, or a hamburger, everything is prepared so deliciously. They also have an extensive menu. It's always a treat, so we love coming here. The friendliness of the staff is also very pleasant.

I had high tea here with family. The food was very good! I have some dietary requirements (lactose-free and pregnant) and they took that into account very well. I let them know in advance and it was adjusted very well. It is often a struggle when you can't have lactose and still want to have high tea; 80-90% of the food is off-limits and there are few alternatives available. So this was a very pleasant experience :)

Visited this restaurant for the first time. What a (hidden) gem that we will definitely be returning to. The pancake on the menu especially for Easter was highly recommended, but the dishes served around me also looked very good. The only downside was the long wait before we could order; if this is faster next time, it certainly deserves 5 stars!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Iberico pork tenderloin and the sirloin steak. The café glace was also very tasty. The service was pleasant.

We visited this restaurant with family over Christmas. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. From making the reservation to the dessert, everything was perfectly arranged.

Nice spot by the water. From here you can also easily take the water bus to Rotterdam or the water taxi to Kinderdijk! The coffee was good. We had a lunch platter. The taste was perfectly fine. We found the price-quality ratio a bit disappointing. We have eaten a similar lunch for 5 euros less often at other places, and you got more there.

Sitting inside at Struis can sometimes be noisy. But the dishes are always to our liking. Our favorites are the calamari rings, spaghetti vongole, and the fish soup.

I ordered a ham sandwich for 15 euros. A mini supermarket roll. My wife ordered one too, and luckily we managed to eat two sandwiches each at home afterwards. So, wasted money. I reported it as well, but we received no compensation whatsoever.

Nooit meer zal ík één stap nemen over de drempel bij dit restaurant! Claire ( de eigenaresse) schreeuwde ons toe over het terras dat wij niet mochten gaan zitten op een bepaalde plek. Denk aan de manier waar ze bijna zegt; ben je blind of zo! Ik had besloten om mijn moeder mee te nemen zodat ze even op adem kon komen na plotselinge overlijden van mijn vader! Wij hebben het terras verlaten uiteraard. Het zat mij enorm dwars en om die reden heb ik Claire gebeld, dat werd geen succes. Claire kent het woordje medeleven niet en zelfreflectie kwam al helemaal niet in haar woordenboek voor. Ze vroeg ten eerste, moet dit nu? Daarna vroeg ze of ik mij wel realiseerde hoe druk het was. Claire dat interesseert mij geen moer hoe druk jij het hebt, behandel je gasten met respect anders heb jij het straks enorm rustig! Ze hing op voordat het gesprek was afgerond! Palviljoen Struis staat altijd garant voor heerlijke maaltijden, een gevarieerd menu en bijzondere special maaltijden. Hier is altijd sprake van een gastvrije ontvangst door de eigenaresse en het bedienend personeel. We komen hier al geruime tijd en zijn nog nooit teleurgesteld. Een aanrader en een garantie voor een goede maaltijd en gezellig samenzijn

Voor een restaurant met een leuke kinderspeelhoek is het personeel enorm kindonvriendelijk, wat dus haaks op elkaar staat. We komen hier vaker maar vandaag was de druppel. Met kleine kinderen is dit echt geen aanrader. De kinderhoek nodigt uit om met kinderen langs te komen maar als je kind de kinderhoek verlaat kan je een reactie verwachten. Het maakt je bezoek alles behalve ontspannen. Als ouder voel je de blikken priemen en zit je met samengeknepen billen… ‘als ze maar niet teveel lawaai maken’, ‘als ze maar niet teveel morsen op de grond’, ‘als ze maar niet aan de ramen zitten’. Je wordt op deze punten overigens met hetzelfde gemak aangesproken… Als je kinderen dan eindelijk in de speelhoek spelen worden ze vanuit de keuken toegeschreeuwd omdat het écht niet de bedoeling is dat de daar op het tafeltje klimmen…. Nee, dat begrijpen wij ook.. maar de grap met kinderen is dat ze vaak (ondanks grenzen van ouders) vaaaaakkkk net de grens over gaan… wij zijn ons er terdege van bewust dat kinderen als lastig (kunnen) worden ervaren in restaurants, maar dit is van een hele andere orde. Je voelt aan alles dat zowel eigenaresse als personeel niet blij zijn met je komst. Ik vind het echt jammer en zonde dat dit zo gaat. Haal je speelkeuken weg als jonge gezinnen niet je doelgroep zijn.. want kinderen maken nou eenmaal wel eens rommel of geluid. Dat je baalt van vieze handjes op je ramen kan ik ooook nog begrijpen… maar hoe groot is de moeite om die doek met glassex na 10 minuten even over het raam te halen? Ipv gelijk te sommeren dat dat niet de bedoeling is en het raam driftig te gaan poetsen…

Na een lange tijd weer eens naar Struis. Waarom? Omdat er bij Struis een speelhoek voor kinderen is. Ideaal om rustig en gezellig te kunnen ontbijten zou je denken.. maar niets is minder waar. Er is een kinderhoek, maar eigenlijk is er verder weinig kindvriendelijk. Met name bij het personeel is er behoorlijk gebrek aan kindvriendelijkheid. Het was alles behalve een gezellig, ontspannen ontbijt. En nu zul je denken, ontspannen ontbijten met jonge kinderen is onmogelijk, nah met deze kinderen kan dit prima hoor. Het is de manier waarop het personeel kijkt en opmerkingen maakt. Het gevoel dat alles in de gaten gehouden wordt zorgt voor een gespannen sfeer. Je hebt als ouder continue het gevoel dat je als een soort havik op je kinderen moet letten. Als er een plastic bordje in de speelkeuken valt krijg je direct een blik van het personeel of als je kind even iets verder loopt dat de tafel waar je op dat moment zit, wordt er een opmerking gemaakt. Je krijgt het gevoel dat iedere beweging of ieder geluid teveel is. Begrijpelijk dat dit niet wenselijk is als je in een sterren restaurant eet of op een plek waar geen kinderen mogen komen. Maar je nodigt zelf uit met de speelhoek. En dat er de taak is voor de ouder om het kind op een goede manier te begeleiden en aan te spreken als het de grenzen over gaat, heel logisch. En voor het geval nu gedacht wordt: het zullen vast ongeleide projectielen zijn geweest.. nee, zeker niet. Het waren kinderen die rustig aan het spelen waren, geluid maakte maar niet met een enorm decibel. Is dit de eerste keer? Nee zeker niet, het is een terugkerend iets. Kinderen zijn eigenlijk niet welkom. Ik zou hier dan ook zeker niet meer gaan eten met mijn kinderen. En ik denk dat de eigenaresse eens goed na moet denken over de doelgroep voor haar restaurant. Die speelhoek kan ze beter weghalen.

This morning after a walk we went to Struis for a coffee (delicious!) with a piece of FerreroRocher chocolate cake from our own kitchen. This cake scores first place (and then nothing comes for a long time) in the tasty cakes ranking. Indescribably fantastic

Located close to the water bus dock. But if you have a drink or something to eat there while waiting for the water bus to arrive, you have to go all the way outside to the heron.

The ideal place to sit on the terrace in the summer and have a delicious lunch. Outside of the summer you can also sit comfortably indoors. I especially think it is an ideal location for lunch, with an extensive menu and good quality dishes at a very reasonable price. We like to come there.

Went to dinner tonight at Paviljoen Struis. We come there often because it is very pleasant. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly even though it was very busy. The double smash truffle burger is really finger licking good. We were very impressed.

Definitely fun. Also before or after a trip to Kinderdijk, Dordrecht or Rotterdam by Af Ridderkerk by Boat. Getting on and off at the restaurant, literally 1 minute from the door.

Na jaarmeeting even snel een lunch gedaan in dit etablissement. Reserveren was een must want het zit gewoon stampvol, en terecht want het eten is goed. Ik had een clubsandwich die zeer goed gevuld en smakelijk was, daarnaast een jus d'orange wat de lunch compleet maakte. zoals op de foto te zien is, is het een ruime maaltijd. Mijn tafelgenoten hadden pullen checken op een broodje wat eveneens erg lekker was maar wel aan de grote kant was, maar we klagen niet, dik in orde! Kortom prima eten voor een prima prijs

Downgraded this as after a recent visit I had to conclude that my very first review I posted remains my true opinion. In my view the food here lacks inspiration and depth of flavor. I'll caveat this by saying I am not a local and often feel restaurant food in the Netherlands is bland.

Food good but not special, dishes arrive quickly, service smooth, ample free parking, feel free to visit here.

Tasty lunch, quick service. But in the right part when you enter, there are chairs that are really uncomfortable. We were like 9 people and we all agreed. We have previously sat on these chairs with another group, but this is really not a plus when you get such delicious food. Intended as constructive criticism

Great place for lunch, very extensive menu. The atmosphere is mediocre, but I can imagine that you can sit outside here when the weather is good. It could be a little cozier/cozier inside. Ample free parking. Staff was fine, but perhaps (as in many places nowadays) a bit understaffed. Pulled chicken was tasty and more than enough.

A really nice location and good food. I had a steak medium rare with shallots and sweet potato fries; really from the art. The downside is that the kitchen closes early during the week. You cannot, in good decency, finish the meal with a dessert. While we were still eating our main course, it was explained to us that the kitchen was about to close, so if we wanted a dessert... a bit strange... we'd better have a cup of tea... My sister and I wanted a white wine with the starter and a red wine with the main course, but both still had to drive. So we were each allowed half a glass of white and then half a glass of red. Now that's what I call service.

The food is tasty with an average price. You should not sit there for the romantic atmosphere, because it is more like eating in a library with cafeteria lighting.

Food was ok; ordered wine was forgotten and when it came it was gone. I was politely asked if I wanted something else (in addition, not instead). Very busy and noisy, not a place where you go to relax. For just under €60 for lunch for two, including a glass of bad wine and a coffee per person, it is quite expensive.

When you arrive from the parking lot, it is unclear which side the entrance is. The atmosphere inside is fine, but the tables are sparse. Service is fine, but needs to be reminded of some things. Dry tables after cleaning. Had to ask 3 times about the cava we ordered. No explanation about the sauce that was reserved with the oysters. Food was good
