Très bien situé. Moderne avec de la place. Un sourire pour l'accueil, le service aurait été un plus. Plats bons. Brasserie avec peu de choix de plats.

Nooit meer zal ík één stap nemen over de drempel bij dit restaurant! Claire ( de eigenaresse) schreeuwde ons toe over het terras dat wij niet mochten gaan zitten op een bepaalde plek. Denk aan de manier waar ze bijna zegt; ben je blind of zo! Ik had besloten om mijn moeder mee te nemen zodat ze even op adem kon komen na plotselinge overlijden van mijn vader! Wij hebben het terras verlaten uiteraard. Het zat mij enorm dwars en om die reden heb ik Claire gebeld, dat werd geen succes. Claire kent het woordje medeleven niet en zelfreflectie kwam al helemaal niet in haar woordenboek voor. Ze vroeg ten eerste, moet dit nu? Daarna vroeg ze of ik mij wel realiseerde hoe druk het was. Claire dat interesseert mij geen moer hoe druk jij het hebt, behandel je gasten met respect anders heb jij het straks enorm rustig! Ze hing op voordat het gesprek was afgerond! Palviljoen Struis staat altijd garant voor heerlijke maaltijden, een gevarieerd menu en bijzondere special maaltijden. Hier is altijd sprake van een gastvrije ontvangst door de eigenaresse en het bedienend personeel. We komen hier al geruime tijd en zijn nog nooit teleurgesteld. Een aanrader en een garantie voor een goede maaltijd en gezellig samenzijn

Na een lange tijd weer eens naar Struis. Waarom? Omdat er bij Struis een speelhoek voor kinderen is. Ideaal om rustig en gezellig te kunnen ontbijten zou je denken.. maar niets is minder waar. Er is een kinderhoek, maar eigenlijk is er verder weinig kindvriendelijk. Met name bij het personeel is er behoorlijk gebrek aan kindvriendelijkheid. Het was alles behalve een gezellig, ontspannen ontbijt. En nu zul je denken, ontspannen ontbijten met jonge kinderen is onmogelijk, nah met deze kinderen kan dit prima hoor. Het is de manier waarop het personeel kijkt en opmerkingen maakt. Het gevoel dat alles in de gaten gehouden wordt zorgt voor een gespannen sfeer. Je hebt als ouder continue het gevoel dat je als een soort havik op je kinderen moet letten. Als er een plastic bordje in de speelkeuken valt krijg je direct een blik van het personeel of als je kind even iets verder loopt dat de tafel waar je op dat moment zit, wordt er een opmerking gemaakt. Je krijgt het gevoel dat iedere beweging of ieder geluid teveel is. Begrijpelijk dat dit niet wenselijk is als je in een sterren restaurant eet of op een plek waar geen kinderen mogen komen. Maar je nodigt zelf uit met de speelhoek. En dat er de taak is voor de ouder om het kind op een goede manier te begeleiden en aan te spreken als het de grenzen over gaat, heel logisch. En voor het geval nu gedacht wordt: het zullen vast ongeleide projectielen zijn geweest.. nee, zeker niet. Het waren kinderen die rustig aan het spelen waren, geluid maakte maar niet met een enorm decibel. Is dit de eerste keer? Nee zeker niet, het is een terugkerend iets. Kinderen zijn eigenlijk niet welkom. Ik zou hier dan ook zeker niet meer gaan eten met mijn kinderen. En ik denk dat de eigenaresse eens goed na moet denken over de doelgroep voor haar restaurant. Die speelhoek kan ze beter weghalen.

Voor een restaurant met een leuke kinderspeelhoek is het personeel enorm kindonvriendelijk, wat dus haaks op elkaar staat. We komen hier vaker maar vandaag was de druppel. Met kleine kinderen is dit echt geen aanrader. De kinderhoek nodigt uit om met kinderen langs te komen maar als je kind de kinderhoek verlaat kan je een reactie verwachten. Het maakt je bezoek alles behalve ontspannen. Als ouder voel je de blikken priemen en zit je met samengeknepen billen… ‘als ze maar niet teveel lawaai maken’, ‘als ze maar niet teveel morsen op de grond’, ‘als ze maar niet aan de ramen zitten’. Je wordt op deze punten overigens met hetzelfde gemak aangesproken… Als je kinderen dan eindelijk in de speelhoek spelen worden ze vanuit de keuken toegeschreeuwd omdat het écht niet de bedoeling is dat de daar op het tafeltje klimmen…. Nee, dat begrijpen wij ook.. maar de grap met kinderen is dat ze vaak (ondanks grenzen van ouders) vaaaaakkkk net de grens over gaan… wij zijn ons er terdege van bewust dat kinderen als lastig (kunnen) worden ervaren in restaurants, maar dit is van een hele andere orde. Je voelt aan alles dat zowel eigenaresse als personeel niet blij zijn met je komst. Ik vind het echt jammer en zonde dat dit zo gaat. Haal je speelkeuken weg als jonge gezinnen niet je doelgroep zijn.. want kinderen maken nou eenmaal wel eens rommel of geluid. Dat je baalt van vieze handjes op je ramen kan ik ooook nog begrijpen… maar hoe groot is de moeite om die doek met glassex na 10 minuten even over het raam te halen? Ipv gelijk te sommeren dat dat niet de bedoeling is en het raam driftig te gaan poetsen…

This morning after a walk we went to Struis for a coffee (delicious!) with a piece of FerreroRocher chocolate cake from our own kitchen. This cake scores first place (and then nothing comes for a long time) in the tasty cakes ranking. Indescribably fantastic

Located close to the water bus dock. But if you have a drink or something to eat there while waiting for the water bus to arrive, you have to go all the way outside to the heron.

The ideal place to sit on the terrace in the summer and have a delicious lunch. Outside of the summer you can also sit comfortably indoors. I especially think it is an ideal location for lunch, with an extensive menu and good quality dishes at a very reasonable price. We like to come there.

Nice place near the rivers, good food and a nice terrace

Went to dinner tonight at Paviljoen Struis. We come there often because it is very pleasant. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly even though it was very busy. The double smash truffle burger is really finger licking good. We were very impressed.

Definitely fun. Also before or after a trip to Kinderdijk, Dordrecht or Rotterdam by Af Ridderkerk by Boat. Getting on and off at the restaurant, literally 1 minute from the door.

Sorry, the Christmas brunch was really disappointing

Always delicious food, nice, friendly employees. And top location. We like to go there.

Food here is amazing. Was a bit too cold to sit outside today, but if you get the chance to go upstairs and sit watching the boats - best time ever.

Na jaarmeeting even snel een lunch gedaan in dit etablissement. Reserveren was een must want het zit gewoon stampvol, en terecht want het eten is goed. Ik had een clubsandwich die zeer goed gevuld en smakelijk was, daarnaast een jus d'orange wat de lunch compleet maakte. zoals op de foto te zien is, is het een ruime maaltijd. Mijn tafelgenoten hadden pullen checken op een broodje wat eveneens erg lekker was maar wel aan de grote kant was, maar we klagen niet, dik in orde! Kortom prima eten voor een prima prijs

Downgraded this as after a recent visit I had to conclude that my very first review I posted remains my true opinion. In my view the food here lacks inspiration and depth of flavor. I'll caveat this by saying I am not a local and often feel restaurant food in the Netherlands is bland.

Food good but not special, dishes arrive quickly, service smooth, ample free parking, feel free to visit here.

Tasty lunch, quick service. But in the right part when you enter, there are chairs that are really uncomfortable. We were like 9 people and we all agreed. We have previously sat on these chairs with another group, but this is really not a plus when you get such delicious food. Intended as constructive criticism

Great place for lunch, very extensive menu. The atmosphere is mediocre, but I can imagine that you can sit outside here when the weather is good. It could be a little cozier/cozier inside. Ample free parking. Staff was fine, but perhaps (as in many places nowadays) a bit understaffed. Pulled chicken was tasty and more than enough.

The food was delicious, the dog was allowed to come along and the atmosphere is great. We would love to come back again.

The main course alone was very good and more than sufficient for a meal. Dessert fantastic but actually too much.

Had a nice meal with customers and colleagues. Large group of 30 people. Everything was served on time and at the same time. Service was top notch and the food, apart from a slightly overcooked schnitzel, was delicious. Added ostrich to my favorites

Nice spot along the water for lunch

A really nice location and good food. I had a steak medium rare with shallots and sweet potato fries; really from the art. The downside is that the kitchen closes early during the week. You cannot, in good decency, finish the meal with a dessert. While we were still eating our main course, it was explained to us that the kitchen was about to close, so if we wanted a dessert... a bit strange... we'd better have a cup of tea... My sister and I wanted a white wine with the starter and a red wine with the main course, but both still had to drive. So we were each allowed half a glass of white and then half a glass of red. Now that's what I call service.

The food is tasty with an average price. You should not sit there for the romantic atmosphere, because it is more like eating in a library with cafeteria lighting.

Food was ok; ordered wine was forgotten and when it came it was gone. I was politely asked if I wanted something else (in addition, not instead). Very busy and noisy, not a place where you go to relax. For just under €60 for lunch for two, including a glass of bad wine and a coffee per person, it is quite expensive.

When you arrive from the parking lot, it is unclear which side the entrance is. The atmosphere inside is fine, but the tables are sparse. Service is fine, but needs to be reminded of some things. Warme nazomeravond begin september heerlijk op het terras gegeten met onze ouders. Vlotte bediening die echt zijn best zijn best deed met deze onverwachte warmte. 1 opmerking : de porties waren voor onze ouders veel te groot,vooral de soep, maar wel heerlijk. Het zou fijn zijn als je ook kleinere porties kon bestellen

Food is not bad but what BAD service. Closes very early, which also makes you uncomfortable. You are looked away. Food was tasty but price/quality ratio is not good. Way too expensive for the service you get.

Nice location with a nice terrace. We were here once in the beginning and it was very disappointing. Fortunately, things are much better now. Attentive service and everything to your liking. Nice stopover if you take the water bus or transfer to Kinderdijk.

Great place along the river to have a tasty lunch. Was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and fresh everything wash. Especially the fish soup was very tasty, but all other parts of the fish lunch platter were very good as well. The pasta vongole had a thicker than usual noodle, but we actually really liked this unique texture.

On Thursday, August 1, we were exceptionally able to collect 5 menus from you when we passed by by boat. Great service, it was even brought to the dock. The packaging was done with care and even pimped and above all: the burgers and loaded sweet fries tasted fantastic! We will be back!

Nice pavilion with plenty of places inside or outside. Clean toilets. Many vegetarian options, some are or can be vegan. We had the vegan satay and were unfortunately disappointed. The meat substitute was really not tasty, mealy and soggy without bite or structure. That can really be improved in 2024. The fries were also limp and not properly seasoned and salted.

Paviljoen Struis has a beautiful location, both in bad weather and on a sunny day. The food is prepared with care and tastes good. The service is fast and friendly and there is a large seafood menu.

Well, the owner responds immediately, so that shows that he takes his reviews seriously. But yes, the gnome chairs inside are now passé. Just like the rock-hard steel outdoor chairs. It was still hip 10 years ago, but this is no longer possible. Yes, grab the pillows yourself, okay. The audience could be a lot hipper, but the age is of a high average. Everyone enjoys iced tea or cassis. That's mind-boggling, but it can happen. And then the 'loaded fries', 20 euros! For a plate of fries! That should be a blast, unfortunately it's disappointing. Half lukewarm because sweet potato cools down quickly. Taste good but not exciting with 100 grams of spring onion on top. 20 euros eh! This should be a top tent considering the location and the possibilities. Unfortunately this is not the case. What now? It was the last time for us.

Had lunch here with my sister. They had a beautiful terrace on the water with several fruit trees on the side. The pulled pork salad was delicious. The service was good. In short, I will eat here again with my husband.

Lovely setting on the water, good menu, tasty food

Had a delicious breakfast, we ordered two dishes. We didn't have to say that we wanted to "share" it, because the smashed 🥑 was served on two plates. By the way, highly recommended, as is the French toast with fresh fruit, for which we received extra plates to share with each other again. Sweet and fun staff.

We had reserved the top floor for a brunch with family and friends, because if the weather was nice we could also go outside. From the terrace a view over the river and the water bus. Good communication with Claire from the first contact. A beautiful, well-organized brunch with hot and cold, beautifully laid tables. Great service.

Disappointment burger ready too quickly. Some fries and some lettuce. Chicken satay round from bad. Weak taste, chicken satay anyway no real bite at all. Few vegetables. Sauce no taste at all. Beautiful location but kitchen should be better. Shame.

I have been there several times to eat. Fine! But this time I ordered a Snitzel XL. But what surprised me was that the snitzel had the size of an XL but certainly not the desired weight. It was as thin as a pancake, as if it had been run over with a roller to get the size. You can expect such a snitzel to be about 1cm thick and not 3mm. You cannot serve this to your customers on their plates and expect them to be satisfied. So that would be an area for improvement by actually serving a snitzel xl of about 1cm. And no breaded pancake. By the way, the rest was delicious!

Very unfriendly, unprofessional and not hospitable. 26/6 was a very hot day and we (7 people) wanted to sit in the shade, but this was not allowed and we could only sit in the full sun. While there were people sitting on the terrace section where we also wanted to sit, we were told in a very unfriendly manner that the section is closed. We immediately left and never came back here. The hostess did not seem to be interested in this. After this post, the owner approached me via LinkedIn to once again express their hospitality through that platform. He also posted his comments in this review. It's a pity to have such a reaction that distorts reality.

What grumpy staff, unbelievable. We went there to have a bite to eat, after more than 10 minutes and twenty waves of wave, someone arrived and said that she was busy and that we should be patient, the place was half full... We got a bitterballetje ordered and left quickly. What a disappointment.

Eaten well. Good service. Salmon with toast as an appetizer. A tasty hamburger with fries. An ice cream with fruit. A negative point was the tiny ice cream, 1 scoop with some pieces of fruit for almost 10 euros. For that price, a little more ice could be added.

Tasty lunch in a beautiful spot at the water bus stop. Friendly and smooth service. Good cappuccino and very tasty club sandwich. When the weather is nice you can sit on the terrace by the water.

The High tea was delicious, but it should be noted that only 1 tea flavor is served per round. When we asked for 2 separate flavors, we were told that this is not possible. That is ashame. Waiting half an hour for a pot of tea was also a shame.

Simply put: the food was tasty, the atmosphere less so. Busy, not pleasant, noisy. Satay sandwich was very tasty and was served very quickly. We had a good meal and that counts.

I called by phone because I could no longer reserve a spot via Google. I asked a friendly employee if it was still possible to make a reservation. She indicated that there was enough space and that we could sit down without having to make a reservation. Once I arrived, I briefly explained my story to another colleague that I had called. She had to discuss it, then we were given a spot next to the bar. This was not comfortable for us. You had 2 types of tables. Apparently we were sitting at the table that was not intended for reserved people. This was a shame and made us feel secluded. The club sandwiches were highly recommended and so were the squid rings! My friend ordered smoked salmon. He got 1 slice of bread, cut into 2. We were very shocked by his mediocre dish. For the price you paid, it certainly wasn't worth it. This does not mean that we will no longer go there. Because I would like to try the other dishes. To get back to your response: It's a shame we didn't take a photo of our salmon dish. Strange that something else is said. I wouldn't just write a review that wouldn't be correct. Perhaps something didn't go quite right that day that we received 1 slice of bread instead of the "2 large sandwiches". I will definitely mention it next time😉

Had a delicious breakfast this morning. My sister called me, she said I opened my eyes and saw Struis passing by with a delicious Sunday breakfast!! French toast with strawberries 🍓 and whipped cream Well we went there with screeching tires! And it was super tasty, Friendly service. And at the last minute my sister and brother-in-law gave me a box of homemade Granola from Struis

Tastiest food in Ridderkerk. Plus the terrace is lovely!

Really delicious food and good service. The only downside I think is that dogs are allowed. Nothing against dogs, but I saw all the dog hair on the floor and it's not really hygienic if you allow dogs. But otherwise a top restaurant!

Had lunch yesterday with the 2 of us. What hospitality and knowledge! We had the ostrich lunch twice, 1x fish, 1x meat. Delicious flavors and fresh products. The service was also very friendly. Pavilion Struis, highly recommended!
