I have been here several times already, and it remains a wonderful experience every time. What a beautiful and unique location! The staff is extremely friendly and the service is fast. The food is delicious, with a varied menu, and the changing seasonal offerings ensure surprisingly tasty dishes every time. You can sit outside and enjoy a beautiful view over the polder, while the interior is atmospherically and cozily furnished. Chic, yet with a rural feel. Everything looks clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended!

Although they were having (almost) a private party, we were served very kindly and quickly. (Only a small menu was available at the time due to the party catering.) We stopped by for homemade apple pie, cheesecake, and coffee on the terrace. Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended! (Accessible on foot or by bike, parking 800m away).

A (hidden) gem in the polder. A hit for years as a stopover during bike rides. De Grote Sniep was recently taken over and since then a few nice improvements have been implemented. Be sure to stop by yourself to discover them :)

I have been coming here for years, and it is a very pleasant, informal, and beautifully situated pavilion. Hidden in the meadows, with a nice lookout tower and very friendly staff. The apple pie is amazing, but the rest of the menu is also tasty.

Made a short stop here today during the walking tour. I opted for the homemade lime lemonade and a slice of apple pie with whipped cream. It was absolutely delicious. The staff are truly very friendly and make you feel welcome.🍀

We ended up there totally unexpectedly yesterday morning. The sign at the Joostendam (the cable ferry) piqued our curiosity. So we decided to take a little detour. And it was more than worth the detour!! We were given an incredibly friendly welcome and, of course, we had a delicious slice of homemade apple pie. And just sitting there in the greenery, watching the animals in the polder with another cup of coffee, you don't need to do anything else. It's a good thing we were walking towards Woerden, otherwise we certainly would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back again 🤩

A really nice place, though you really have to know it's there. Superb view. Cozy inside. Very spacious outside, with a terrace at the front and at the back. Outside, you mostly sit at picnic tables for which cushions have been laid out. It is a family business, and you can tell. Friendly. Attentive. Approachable. Even grandma is helping out. Respect! The menu offers plenty of choices. We chose the healthy sandwich—well... sandwich... it was a very well-filled sandwich on a large Italian roll. It was filling! We also had the fried egg sandwich. Good bread underneath. Ham and cheese baked in. Great. Add the sunshine. Good atmosphere. Then you can spend a lovely time here. We will definitely be back.

We had a delicious meal. I had the goat cheese sandwich, which was truly delectable, and my husband had the grilled sausage sandwich from the local butcher, which was also incredibly tasty. I would definitely recommend this place, with a great view of the polder and friendly service.

Very nice spot for lunch! It seems a bit hidden, and if you are coming by car, you can park at De Geer and will have to walk a short distance (800 meters). There is a small observation tower where you can look around from Amsterdam to Utrecht, and it is free to access. I had an Italian roll with brie, honey, and walnuts here, and it was very tasty. The staff were cheerful and friendly. You can sit both inside and outside here.

The farmer's burger was overcooked, almost requiring a cleaver. The lunch for four, €75.00, was poor; we should have gone to the nearest snack bar. It wasn't value for money. Sadly, this was the first, but also the last time. Never again.

Beautiful afternoon! We arrived around 3:30 PM to have a drink. The door was open, but it turned out they were closed: there hadn't been any visitors for the last hour. While we were still standing by our bikes, a group of eight people arrived. They, too, had wanted to have a drink there and so found the door "closed." A missed opportunity.

Leuke plek, maar kwaliteit valt vaak erg tegen. Ik kom er regelmatig want ligt op Een wandelroute bij mij in de buurt. Maken Reclame voor de appeltaart die de laatste keer gewoon een fabriekstaart was. Bestelde gisteren een hangop met vruchten. Werd geserveerd in een soort borrelglas. Werkelijk een beschamend klein beetje voor €6. Hamburgers ook mini. De mevrouw aan de kassa weet na minstens een jaar nog steeds niet goed hoe ze een bestelling moet invoeren. Altijd paniek. Heel erg onprofessioneel. Al met al veeeel te duur allemaal voor wat het is. Behalve de cheesecake gisteren.

Wij waren hier voor een " High tea". De bediening is heel erg aardig. Er is dubbelgechekt of glutenvrij ook mogelijk was. Nou dat viel dus erg tegen. Ik kreeg geen scones en ook geen taartje. In plaats daarvan een zielige kant en klare Madeleine en een halve( droge) roze koek. De chocolaatjes bij de afsluitende koffie stelden ook niet veel voor. De stukjes brood en wrap smaakten wel prima. De mensen zonder dieet kregen" scones", die waren zo groot als een knikker en hard, leek nergens op. Kortom, niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Jammer.

De locatie is mooi, maar culinair een enorme tegenvaller! Wat mij betreft echt horeca onwaardig! De warme chocolademelk was poeder met gekookt water er op en dat dan van het B-merk; echt nauwelijks drinkbaar. De worteltaart was veel te vast/vettig van structuur (het leek bijna boterkoek). De appeltaart, die buiten op het krijtbord aangeprezen werd als de beste appeltaart ter wereld, was best prima, maar heel gemiddeld. Hoewel het een leuke wandeling is naar een mooi uitzicht, zal men mij hier niet meer terug zien.

De Grote Sniep is a nice outdoor spot in the meadows. Location is accessible by bike or on foot, no car traffic, no music, or just enjoy nature. On busy cycling and walking days it is sometimes difficult to find a spot. The only point of attention are the opening hours. These are adjusted to the season, but are not always clear. If there is little traffic, De Sniep sometimes closes shortly after 4 p.m. (flag down) while the website or Facebook states 5 p.m. Furthermore, super nice hospitable place. Highly recommended!

The place has a nice view, but the food wasn't that much good. The burger wasn't well-cooked and had a hair inside. The ice cream was also disappointing, with a slightly sour taste that I didn't enjoy. Overall, the dining experience was underwhelming.

I celebrated our birthdays with my mother at Paviljoen De Grote Sniep, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition to the beautiful view and the good atmosphere created by hostess Liesbeth and her fantastic staff, the snacks and drinks were also perfectly arranged. Everything is possible and allowed, and they think along with you so well. It was a day to remember, thanks in part to the great service and beautiful decor. I can highly recommend Paviljoen De Grote Sniep for any special occasion.

Nice on a sunny Sunday morning. Farmer's burger is a good option at €13. Cheeky blonde, nice local beer 🍺 I think it's a surprising location. Friendly staff. Just a bit different: order in and pay immediately. Lots of visitors from MTBers and cyclists.

Gezellig, sfeervol en prachtig uitzicht

Dit is een eenvoudig restaurant met uitkijktoren op een heel bijzondere plek. Namelijk langs een wandel / fietspad dwars door de weilanden. Je kunt er dus niet met de auto komen. Vanaf de dichtstbijzijnde parkeerplaats is het een kleine 10 minuten lopen. Daardoor is het daar nooit mudjevol. Binnen heb je door de grote ramen een prachtig uitzicht. Je kunt ook buiten zitten en genieten van thee of koffie met iets erbij. Voor een diner kun je een afspraak maken. Heb ik nog niet gedaan, maar staat wel op de rol. Ik verwacht dan geen sterrendiner, maar wel een smakelijke maaltijd. Ga er beslist langs als je in de buurt bent.

Je kan er helaas niet met auto of motor komen, kan wel maar mag officieel niet, buurman heeft daar problemen mee😏

Een erg leuke verstopte plek!! Je moet wel iets lopen maar daarvoor wordt je meer dan beloond! Erg lekker eten, leuk uitzicht & je kan het ook afhuren voor een bijzondere ervaring! Bovenop het vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel!

Leuke plaats om even wat te drinken. Bij dit paviljoen zit een leuke uitkijktoren (zie fotos), deze biedt een mooi uitzicht op de omgeving. We hebben hier wat gedronken, en werden hier vriendelijk geholpen. Het paviljoen ziet er schoon en mooi uit (al hebben wij met name buiten gezeten. De bediening was vriendelijk, ook tegen onze kinderen. De locatie maakt dit paviljoen zo uniek.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Ein nettes kleines Bio Restaurant mit sehr leckeren Speisen. Das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ich empfehle den Bio Burger und den Apfelkuchen dazu ein kaltes Heineken. Tolle Sitzplätze mit super Ausblick.

Ik zit in de ronde kamer met uitzicht op de weilanden. De bediening is vriendelijk en snel. Ik bestel een heerlijk gekoelde biologische witte wijn en ……mijn vaste setje bitterballen; dit keer ‘uit de airfryer ‘ staat er op de menukaart. Ze zijn goed van smaak, redelijk krokant en van binnen proef ik een heuse textuur van hoe mijn ideale bal moet zijn.

Een hele mooie lokatie in de natuur. We waren hier met een groep en hebben een heerlijke lunch gehad.

Midden tussen de weilanden van het Groene Hart staat deze uitkijktoren met restaurantje. Alleen lopend of op de fiets bereikbaar via een oud dijkje. Een prachtige stop op een fiets- of wandeltocht, met lekker eten en drinken.

De Grote Sniep bezocht met fietsgroep uit Houten voor de gebruikelijke koffie met appeltaart. Vooral die appeltaart is geweldig (en wij kunnen het weten, want we eten overal appeltaart). Bijzonder dat zoiets als De Sniep bestaat langs een paadje dat je alleen wandelend of fietsend (tussen knooppunt 36 en 62) kan bereiken. De locatie is uniek. Zoek je als wandelaar of fietser in het gebied tussen Breukelen en Wilnis een gave stopplaats, kies dan De Grote Sniep!

Bereikbaar te voet of op de fiets. Een fijne, rustige en vriendelijke plek met prachtig uitzicht voor een tussenstop. Brutaal blondje met overheerlijke cheesecake, om verder de rest van de dag te blijven zitten.

Prachtige plek om te vertoeven. Maar de drankjes moesten denk in het dorp gehaald worden. Wat duurde dat lang. En de ijskoffie was warm. Jammer.
