A truly cozy, old-fashioned pizzeria. When we eat pizza, we do it there. Takeaway pizzas are also available, no problem, and they're good. Friendly staff and very relaxed. Definitely recommended.

I visited Pizzeria La Candela in Enschede, and it was a real surprise! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, like stepping into a small Italian family restaurant. We only got our drinks after half an hour, we also got our starter an hour later and our main course an hour and a half later, we didn't have time anymore because we were going to the cinema, so if you go here take at least 5 and a half hours!

Had a delicious meal at La Candela this evening. Nice Italian restaurant with friendly service and very tasty food. I had the Pizza Di Parma tonight; highly recommended.

The lasange was very bad. Very watery. The sauce had no taste. And the parmesan cheese was with powder. And I wanted flakes. Unfortunately I had to throw away the lasange. The pizza was decent. Very sparsely filled, the dough was good in itself. I paid 41 euros for it. Very expensive. I hope it gets better. Did I mention that the lasange was VERY bad?

In February 2025, the two of us had dinner at La Candela in Enschede. Upon arrival you will be warmly welcomed in an attractive restaurant. The room is dark and dining by candlelight really applies here. Unfortunately we were taken to a table in the "conservatory", the part at the very front of the restaurant near the glass. Unfortunately, these places do not have the atmosphere like the rest of the restaurant and perhaps this can be remedied by dimming or removing the spotlights. We started with a glass of wine, beer and a baguette with herb butter. As a main course we had a salami pizza and a pizza montanara and for dessert a cappa alla banana and a lava cake. Only one word about the food: Excellent! The service was also good and friendly. We had to wait a little longer for the dessert, but the taste made up for it. All in all, a very successful evening at La Candela where you can eat affordable and tasty. We will definitely come back again!

Today we opted for home delivery via their website, opted for a time instead of asap, so that we could eat at that time, but things can always end up in a mess. Then we received pizzas, a meager Hawaiian pizza with exactly 10 pieces of pineapple and a parma with almost no ham on it. In addition to the meager intention, the pizzas were even colder than the garlic sauce.. Spending €50 on 2 pizzas, a bambino pizza and garlic sauce, you get cold, meager food in return. Unfortunately this was the last time for us.

Booked via the site for Christmas Day, received confirmation that your reservation was successful, when you arrive they are closed! Contacted on Boxing Day, they had seen the reservation but had not yet had time to contact me, I told them that I would post a review, but I shouldn't have done that. If you, as a manager, speak like this, there is something wrong

We were in a rush and had a quick pizza here. Service was great and super friendly, pizzas came fast and were delicious. On a side note: there was a quite strong cleaning/detergent smell throughout the whole place. Maybe could do with using less of that or vent better. But overall a very pleasant experience.

Unfortunately the food was super bad. The antipasti platter consisted of the cheapest supermarket sausage you can get and the bruscetta was made from baguette, bitter cheap pesto and tomatoes. Very unfortunate. I'm sorry, but that was nothing...

Seems very dark when you enter, but once inside it has a nice atmosphere with candles on the table. Pizza made very quickly and tastes good, nice dry base.

In the late 80s and early 90s this was a respectful Italian restaurant with Italian chefs who could really cook delicious food. Now for the first time again and I was surprised that the interior had hardly changed (read: very old) Unfortunately, the Italian atmosphere and cooking had completely disappeared. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not have a single Italian chef working in the kitchen. I ordered a Spaghetti Marinara but unfortunately got a spaghetti with cheap frozen seafood with a cream sauce a la Carbonara. Sorry folks, but for us that was a real sign that the Italian specialty had disappeared. My wife's lasagna was tasty. (With a Turkish flavor twist.)

Nooit eerder geweest, maar had goede verhalen gehoord in het verleden en mijn vaste pizzeria was gesloten en was toch in de buurt,dus maar een pizza besteld om mee te nemen. Eerste wat opviel,pizza meenemen is net zo duur,als in het restaurant opeten, dat is niet normaal, nooit eerder meegemaakt. Pizza had de beste pizza ooit kunnen worden, maar dan moet je niet bezuinigen op de topics. Zelfs de tomatensaus was amper te zien. Ook veel te weinig kaas,elders gewoon 2X zoveel. Als je 15 euro vraagt voor een meeneem pizza,bezuinig dan niet op de ingrediënten. Voor amper 1 euro extra aan ingrediënten had deze pizza de beste ooit kunnen worden en een eenmalige klant een vaste. Verkeerde zuinigheid, jammer en ook niet heel slim. Als de pizza max. 7 euro had gekost,dan had ik het begrepen,nu niet

Food and atmosphere was out of this world

The food is alright and there is a nice atmosphere. My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary dinner. Everything went okay until we wanted to order dessert. We waited for more than half an hour but to no avail. Some waiters even looked in our direction but failed to notice our gestures. This was a bit frustrating as some older couples next to us had way better service so we felt ignored. Then when it came time to pay the bill my boyfriend rounded up the bill with a euro to make it easier to receive change. The host there misunderstood and gave us too little change back. He then responded negatively while it was his mistake. It's a shame all of this kind of left us with a sour taste in our mouths, and that despite the pizza.

What a delicious pizza. Haven't had such good soil in a while. Perfect. I will come back here more often!

Delicious pizzas, friendly people, full atmosphere

Atmospheric, neat and extremely friendly staff.

We have been coming here for pizza for years, but after last night probably not anymore. People manage to serve pizzas with grated cheese (as much as 48+, so I was told) instead of mozzarella! You can taste that immediately. The dough was also not tasty. The motivation for the cheese was that otherwise the pizza would be 3-4 euros more expensive. The average price there is already quite high at 15 euros, so that seems unlikely. For the rest, the price level was so high (soft drinks 0.2 l and coffee 3.25) that they won't see us again for a while.

Which Italian restaurant doesn't have balsamic vinegar? Don't order the caprese because the lack of balsamic vinegar and the excess raw garlic will not make you happy at all. The ravioli was not tasty and the salmon in the salmon pasta was anything but fresh.

Aardige mensen, maar het duurde heel lang voordat we wat konden bestellen en daarna alweer heel lang voor we het eten kregen. De mix grill was bij iedereen verbrand. En de biefstuk was koud. Ook hadden we pepersaus bestelt, en die had simpelweg geen smaak... Oja, en de buitendeuren sluiten niet, dus het tocht.

Heerlijk met mijn jongste dochter genoten van onze eerste keer uit eten samen. Ze was erg zenuwachtig en vond het erg spannend ( ze is best verlegen). Het personeel reageerde hier goed op en ze heeft echt genoten. Vanavond voor het slapen zei ze: mama ik vond dat echt heel gaaf!

Ons bezoek was gemiddeld. Niet slecht, maar ook niet heel goed. De korst van de op zich prima belegde pizzas was een beetje aan de droge kant. De serveerster was vriendelijk maar niet heel ervaren. De sfeer van het kaarslicht werd wat teniet gedaan door felle (kerst) verlichting. Dus alles bij elkaar was het redelijk, waarbij nog gezegd mag dat prijs/kwaliteit op orde is.

Heerlijke lasagne! We hebben echt zitten smullen. De sfeer is altijd gezellig en het personeel is ook vriendelijk. Bedankt voor een geweldige avond!

We komen hier al jaren als vaste klant, elke keer is het weer een fantastische ervaring! Bij binnenkomst is de sfeer meteen al goed, goede indeling van de tafels, goede verlichting en vriendelijk personeel. En dan heb ik het nog niet eens over de uitgebreide kaart gehad... Elk gerecht is fenomenaal een echte aanrader is de la Candela saus bij je broodje!

Echt lekker de Lacandela saus (als voor gerecht) echt aanteraden ook de pepperoni pizza en de calsone casa waren echt heel lekker. TIP als je nog Lacandela saus overhebt dip je pizza korst er dan in😉

Al decennia ons favoriete Italiaans restaurant! Lekker eten voor een prima prijs, vriendelijke service in een romantische omgeving... Kortom, een aanrader!

Eten was lekker maar bij het afrekenen voelde ik me opgelicht.

Heerlijk gegeten. Vriendelijke bediening en zeer betaalbaar. Ik denk dat ik hier vaker ga komen.

Wij kwamen net na een flinke drukte denk ik. Veel tafels waren onbezet maar alle vaat stond er nog. Het afruimen duurde even maar we hadden gelukkig geen haast. We hadden niet gereserveerd en waren al lang blij dat we er terecht konden. Het eten was heerlijk. Fijn restaurant na een bezoekje aan de nieuwe bios.

Ontzettend warm welkom gehad van een vriendelijke man die ook aandacht geeft aan de kleintjes aan de tafel. Het eten was betaalbaar en heerlijk!

Alles was positief op de leidinggevende gastvrouw voor na. Deze remde de andere gastvrouw zo dusdanig af dat ze maar geen rondes drinken gingen vragen. Zelf maar een paar keer drinken wezen vragen is toch wel jammer op de verder top avond.

We komen hier al 25 jaar en de pennen matriciana staat niet meer op de kaart.maar ik vraag er altijd om.krijg dan ook de lekkerste pasta ooit. Beste pizzeria van het oosten. Heel lief personeel.

Vorige week hier gegeten, pizza en pasta. Beiden erg lekker maar wel aan de prijs. Tussen de €15 - €20 voor een simpele pizza of pasta vind ik te veel. Bediening was matig. Ruim 3 kwartier op ons eten moeten wachten. Tussendoor kwam niemand informeren of alles nog naar wens was of om nog wat te drinken te bestellen. Gemiste omzet. De entourage is gewoon slecht. Interieur was 30 jaar gelden al zo. Plafonds zijn bruin uitgeslagen van de rook afkomstig van alle kaarsen. Samenvattend kom ik tot maximaal 3 sterren.

Erg donkere ambiance. Duurde wel even voordat de bestelling werd opgenomen en gebracht werd. Mensen die later binnen kwamen waren eerder aan het eten dan ons. Eten smaakte verder prima.

Bij aankomst werden wij heel vriendelijk ontvangen door een jonge dame en haar collega. Het duurt eventjes vooraleer de ogen gewennen aan de donkerte maar eens dit voorbij is het echt gezellig bij kaarslicht. We bestellen een pizza, een pasta, een fles Chianti en een fles water. Groot is onze verrassing dat de fles wijn ongeopend op tafel komt. De jonge kelner gaat terug achter de bar en laat zich niet meer zien. Ik doe teken naar zijn vrouwelijke collega. Ik vraag haar om die fles open te doen zodat we reeds een glas kunnen nuttigen. Wat dan volgt heb ik in mijn hele leven nog nooit meegemaakt. Eerst kijkt zij ons aarzelend aan om mijn vraag te verwerken en zie ik aan haar reactie dat er zich een probleem vormt. Ze neemt de fles en gaat achter de bar. Daar ontstaat een discussie met haar collega.... enkele minuten later gaat de jongeman naar de keuken. Ik sta recht en ga naar de bar. Ik zie onze fles met de kurkentrekker tegen de flessenhals ingedraaid. Ik vraag gewoon wat het probleem is en zij geeft toe dat geen van beide ook maar enige ervaring heeft en dus ook niet weet hoe een fles te ontkurken. Geen probleem zeg ik en ik toon haar hoe het moet. Je kon ook duidelijk zien dat de bediening aan de tafels uiterst amateuristisch was maar door hub vriendelijkheid wordt dit genegeerd. Het is hen ook vergeven maar de eigenaar moet toch wel beseffen dat personeel toch een minimum aan kennis moet hebben. Indien niet dan laat je iemand met kennis ter zake samenwerken met die jonge mensen om hen toch een zekere opleiding te geven ofwel professionelen te aanvaarden.....maar deze 2 oplossingen zullen waarschijnlijk te duur zijn. Al bij al was het een fijne avond met lekker eten en de Chianti was voortreffelijk.

Voortreffelijk gegeten in dit restaurant. Snelle bediening, een goeie zweer en zeer vriendelijk personeel! Zeker een aanrader om naartoe te gaan!
