Pizzeria Romana in Dokkum

The food was delicious, and they have gluten-free options (pizza and pasta), perfect if you have celiac disease. Highly recommended!

Three pizzas to take away. They were so ultra-thin and hard that there was barely any dough. No sauce and the cheese was completely dry and hard. Never again… The staff were very nice, though.

We ate outside. Inside, everything was full or reserved.

Update: I've been here for the second time in a short time. Both times the pizzas were literally half-baked. The first time, there was even a black piece of plastic from the gorgonzola in my pizza. It happens, you think. Let's give it another try and try again... It turns out the young pizza bakers should just stick to baking, because it looked awful. Large chunks of fish straight from the can with the bones still in them. Much smaller and again undercooked. The cheese had just started to melt, and the dough was still as white as before it went in the oven. Far too much flour was thrown on the counter because the bottom of the pizza was so coated that you actually took a mouthful of flour. Unfortunately for you, a third time is out of the question for us. I have nothing bad to say about the service and the location. You may advertise yourself as the oldest, but you have the least knowledge and lack passion. It's a pity that the owner is able to open his mouth to others (read reviews) but does not take responsibility when poor performance is actually delivered.

The taste sensations were surprising. We went with family. One point for improvement. Due to the excessive toppings on the pizza, it was a bit soggy. Be careful not to let it get soggy. It was just right. But again, the taste sensation was very well chosen—and I'm not a pizza lover ;)—and it definitely satisfied me. Tomato sludge on pizza and melted cheese—I don't want that—so once again, kudos to the chef. He understood what I asked, and I also enjoyed it twice as much.

Getting told they were all out of pizza and other food... Just say you are almost closing and don't want to serve new customers instead of lying that you are all out of food.

Tasty pizza, but maybe too salty? Great price, perfect alternative to the profiteers of Landal a quarter of an hour away. Not 5 stars, because everyone in our family woke up at night from thirst, and I suspect that was because of the pizzas.

I ordered a pizza salmone, but got one with tuna. I reported this to someone at the service. However, she came back to say that it was indeed salmon. It was very busy and I didn't want to wait that long again, so I ate part of the pizza. Then I took my plate to the kitchen and asked to take a good look at the pizza. And people still kept claiming it was salmon. So be careful if you eat pizza here, because they apparently don't know the difference between salmon and tuna

Rarely have I experienced such poor service. The staff never once asked if everything was OK or if we wanted something to drink. Finally we walked to the bar to see if they could remove our table. After removing the table we were asked if we wanted something to drink. Too late. Also asked about the ice cream menu. It was brought quickly, but after fifteen minutes no one had come to take the dessert. The staff, 3 people for 8 tables, were chatting with each other and eating.

Have eaten here several times. Delicious pizzas and salads. More choices in beer might be advisable. And all for a very reasonable price. Just a no-nonsense pizzeria. We would love to come back.

Ordered a pizza, we were a party of 8. I think I got the wrong one, it had olive instead of salmon, but it was still delicious. It is a nice and small restaurant. Cozy decorated. The only disadvantage I found was that the takeaway was also in the restaurant. So there was always a long line of people waiting for their orders next to our table.

Heerlijk gegeten ! Tijd geleden dat we zo,n heerlijke pizza hebben gehad . We lagen hier in dokkum met de boot . Snelle bediening en zeer zeker niet duur. Echt een aanrader !

We ordered two pizzas and two pastas. These were all tasty, the pizzas juicy and well topped. Sat outside on the terrace because of the nice weather. Inside it looked neat, highly recommended if you are near Dokkum, price-quality ratio is excellent, many restaurants in the area can take a look at it!!

The food was delicious, prices were ok. It's nice to sit by the water outside, but inside it's cozy or cramped.

A cozy tent in itself. Pizzas were fine, but not special, sometimes with a bizarre amount of toppings. Tuna pizza had more tuna than pizza base. No wood oven in the business. Service left a lot to be desired, they were mainly busy chatting with each other. The promised game by Birra Moretti (when purchasing 2 beers - was on the table) was no longer available or no one wanted to look for it. Pizzas are nicely priced.

Hier gegeten met familie. Fijne, gezellige pizzaria met heerlijk, smaakvolle pizza's voor goede prijzen. Van de nagerechten is de tiramisu een aanrader. Ik kan deze pizzaria van harte aanbevelen!

Hier gegeten tijdens binnenstad diner. Fantastisch gegeten vooral het hoofdgerecht paperdelle met stoofvlees. Helaas staat dit niet op de menukaart. Ik wil bijna smeken om dat wel te doen!!!!!!

ORIGINAL 2020: Sleekly decorated pizzeria with friendly and professional service. Unfortunately, the pizzas were only fair; the base is too thick and too “bread-like”, causing the pizzas to become soggy after a short time. The double espressos we took afterwards were, according to us, single espressos and were lukewarm because the cups had not been preheated. Too bad, it could easily be better. UDATE March 2024: the pizzas are better than in our previous review from 2020, the base is better and the Pizza Carbonara was good. The Pizza Salmone, on the other hand, was mediocre, canned fish and, according to my partner, mainly tuna and no salmon. The service is very friendly and efficient. One star added. last time.

Number of pizzas ordered, my children were visiting. Bone dry, crusts rock hard and the meats completely dried out. Slice of salama stood upright...... Not edible, will never order again and certainly not eat there. Horrible!

Bedienung freundlich und hilfsbereit... Man(n) spricht deutsch... Spaghetti Bolognese und Spaghetti Marinara kann ich empfehlen...

Soms word ik moe van alle BS met eten. Dit is een pizzeria die prima past in Friesland. Geen gelxx maar gewoon pizza’s zonder onnodige poespas. Vraag je naar de pizzasaus. Nou dat is gewoon tomaten en oregano. Zo hoort het en daar houden we van!

Die Pizza war super lecker! Ich habe selten so eine gute Pizza gegessen. Die Bedienung hätte etwas aufmerksamer sein können. Wir haben kaum Beachtung gefunden. Die Preise waren sehr günstig.

Die Pizzaria ist schön an einem Platz gelegen. Das Restaurant ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Bedienung war schnell um die Getränkebestellung entgegen zu nehmen. Die Gerichte sind sehr schmackhaft und frisch zubereitet! Das Bier ist lecker!

Nice little pizzeria in the heart of Dokkum. Beautifully decorated, very friendly service and perfect pizza at reasonable prices. My VISA card caused a slight upset with the card reader (they don't accept credit cards, unfortunately), but the team remained calm and eventually the machine gave up.

Pizza veel te dik/degig. Bediening na serveren pizza niet meer gezien tot de koffie. Doppio kende ober niet. Uiteindelijk kop sterke koffie gekregen, maar had niets met espresso te maken.

Waren op tijd.ong.17.15 uur.hadden niet gereserveerd.we hadden geluk.was nog 1 tafeltje vrij..tip...reserveer.

Fantastisch en eten was verrukkelijk

Een lekkere pizza met een knapperige bodem. Dus je zit niet bomvol van gebakken deeg maar proeft echt pizza. Het restaurant blinkt niet uit qua sfeer maar ach je kan niet als hebben...

De pizza was echt heeeeeerlijk. De bediening was oké, niks fout hoor, maar er kan wel een lach bij. Wij waren de enige dus dat is minder en het is wel heel licht. Niet knus

En ook een avondje eten bij de Italiaan kan natuurlijk op vakantie niet ontbreken. Dokkum is prima te doen vanaf Landal Esonstad en bij een eerder bezoek aan Dokkum viel de pizzeria in het oog. Kortom site bekeken en de keuze is echt goed en ruim, gereserveerd en heerlijk Italiaans gegeten. Indien je van Italiaans eten houdt dan is dit zeker een aanrader!
