Proeflokaal de Kast in Centrum

This is a real winner; I don't understand why the place isn't packed with diners on Friday nights. The host calls it a café with a touch of class, but the food really takes things a step further. Beautiful, deep flavors in balance. Creative dishes without being overdone, just super tasty. Truly a ‘tasting room’ where whisky and rum enthusiasts also have plenty to explore. Furthermore, it is a very neat, atmospheric establishment with pleasant background music. The staff and host understand what service, hospitality, and coziness are all about. We received an extra dish ‘on the house’ as a preview of the new menu, which will be changing next week. That left us wanting more, and we will definitely be back soon!

Half a year ago I visited this establishment. We found/chose to go in by pure luck on a slow weekday evening due to it being the only place on the street that had a customer siting outside. We said to ourselfs "one bear and then we continue". We stayed until closing. Due to it being a bit of a slow evening we got to chat a fair bit with the bartender who also was one of the owners. Extremely nice guy. very knowledgeable about the stuff he served and happy to share it. The whole atmosphere was superb and I cant recommend this place enough. If you, like me, are a visitor from out of town I also recommend a stroll in the neighborhood overall, since Hoogstraat was kind of cosy in a strange way but that might just be my special kind of touristy view. I live 1825km away in Sweden, but the next time I´m in the Rotterdam/Haag area I will definitely seek out this place again and I envy the locals that can visit more often.

Tasting Room de Kast Fantastic food! You won't find a better place for vegetarian food in Vlaardingen, and the meat-eater in our group agrees. The meat dishes are also very good.

Super tasty food and good service

Yesterday we had dinner with our Fernhout Physio team, and the food was truly fantastic! Thanks also for the great service; we'll definitely be back to eat there or try one of the delicious specialty drinks.

A uniquely atmospheric tasting room, where hospitality and craftsmanship converge. The owner is a true gentleman and a professional in his field. He keeps a close eye on his guests and ensures that no one goes hungry. As soon as your drink is finished, he brings you a new glass with care and speed. His smart attire perfectly complements the tasting room's chic atmosphere, completing the experience.

Een gezellige nette zaak met prima correcte bediening. Super schoon sanitair. Tip om agenda bij te houden voor de avonden met levende muziek. Zondagavond is een aanrader. Het ruime assortiment aan dranken is er voor elk wat wils. Het was voor mij een super leuke ervaring.

An old-fashioned nice entrance with a bartender who immediately points out a seat for you during a busy evening and knows what you want to drink. Nice atmosphere, nice music in the background and a wide choice of drinks, “the new sidewalk” 👏

Very nice bar with many different types of high quality spirits. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff in a quieter part of the city center.

Good bartenders nice atmosphere

Gezellige inrichting en goede sfeer. De medewerkers kunnen je alles over whisky of speciaalbier vertellen. Lekker borrelplankje, groot genoeg voor 2 a 4 personen.

Mooi ingericht, sfeervol en gezellig "lokaal" Kast vol met mooie whisky's en heerlijke aparte bieren op de tap of uit de fles. Ook "het plankje" is met liefde bereid en vol lekkernijen! Hans is uitstekende gastheer met verstand van zaken!

Prachtige kroeg met een mooie inrichting, vele wisky's en bier. Ook het terras is gezellig en je kunt er goed zitten en mensen kijken die voorbij lopen.

Een van de mooiste pubs in Rotterdam e.o. Prachtige whiskeys, bijzondere Biertjes, heerlijke Gin and Tonics. Goed gastheerschap en de juiste muziek. Een avond vol gezelligheid. 👍😊
