What a nice place! Super sweet staff, very tasty food, and a really cozy atmosphere! Compliments to everyone, and of course to the chef too!

A very interesting rib burger, and the ribs themselves are a huge portion. I recommend it to all fans of good meat 😋

For us, this is the best restaurant on Texel. The food is good value for money, not expensive in proportion, and we think the friendliest staff on the island work here.

We picked up a place on the spur of the moment during our visit to Texel for a nice piece of meat, and it turned out incredibly well. We really enjoyed sitting and eating! Even our teenage kids liked everything, and the plates were completely clean! There was also a very nice young man who served us, and a hospitable lady who specially turned on the lights above our table from the previous evening when a wedding was being celebrated. Keep up the good work, dear people, and if we are ever on Texel again, we will definitely come back to enjoy another delicious meal at your place!

Public Grill is a very nice and tasty restaurant. The service is good and the food is very tasty. The only downside is the pub next door; if they have live music there, you can hear it in the restaurant as well.

A fantastic restaurant with delicious burgers and a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. I'd especially like to highlight the exceptional service: During my visit, I unfortunately left my beloved Stetson hat behind. Since I was already on a long bike tour and couldn't return, the team went to the trouble of sending the hat back to Germany – completely hassle-free and incredibly kind. That kind of service is truly rare these days. So, a huge thank you to the entire team for their helpfulness and hospitality. The burgers were also excellent and highly recommended.

Beef cooked tenderly and the chicken still juicy and well done. Baked potato soft with a nice fresh sauce on top. Corn on the cob delicious with a little butter and salt (highly recommended to add this extra). - Arizona chicken and ribs and baked potato. Tender chicken and well seasoned, ribs that fall off the bone with a tasty barbecue and garlic sauce. Same type of baked potato.

Fantastic food! The food was truly mouthwatering. We had the prawns and mushrooms for our starter. For our main course, we had the spare ribs. They were wonderfully tender, and the baked potato was incredibly delicious. The portions were generous, and everything was excellent. We will definitely eat here again!

Good menu, but choosing is difficult if you're a meat lover. I also had a starter here, which was very tasty. But the main course exceeded expectations, perfectly tender meat, both choices. There were more than enough side dishes too. I was overwhelmed by the dessert choices; you'd almost want four at once. In short, I enjoyed it.

Going out for dinner is more than just food on the table. You need ambiance, atmosphere and of course good food. This is such a location. 90% of Texel's restaurants have the same food. Sate, burger ,spareribs,fish. But not this place. Sure it has spareribs but also 450gram T-bone steak. Real meat. Grilled. And your portions are more than enough. But it has something extra. This place is run by a family and everyone is helping. They take the time to talk to you. To tell about the place (it's from 2014 ,but you would never tell. It looks great!) Just informal talk. (They have an art exposition on the top floor, how cool is that). Eating here (especially when you're early can give you the feeling you're part of the island family. All in all absolutely a place to visit.

We had made a reservation somewhere, but when we arrived to eat, the table was taken and we were told to sit somewhere else, which was putting it mildly. So we drove back from De Koog. When we arrived, everything was actually reserved, but because it had been like that in De Koog, they made a spot for us where we could sit quietly with the dog. That's what I call excellent service. Delicious food and a great experience. They are definitely customer-friendly here. Highly recommended to come here and enjoy yourself.

Terrible service From the start, he refused to seat us (11 people, including 6 children). He chased us away, yelling at us because we had ordered for 9 despite their willingness to add two more courses. High prices.

The owner is a lovely person and the bouncer was excellent! Cozy restaurant and great location!

The food is downright bad. We had a baguette with spreads as a starter. The bread was not or barely baked and the spreads were mediocre in taste, the aioli tasted like salad dressing. Main course the entrecote: inedible, all sores, impossible to eat.. Baked potato tasteless as well as the fries. Main course tournedos: tender, but that can happen quickly when it is broken. Sauce: roquefort sauce, too little roquefort, you mainly tasted flour. Dessert: coupe advocaat: vanilla ice cream with ice crystals in a glass of which the bottom 3 cm was empty, hardly any advocaat and whipped cream from a spray can. Within an hour we were outside again, more than 100 euros poorer. Never again. However, the staff is very friendly, that's true.

Serving a T-bone steak on the table within 10 minutes, you have to wonder if it's going well, no. Cold, tough and simply impossible to eat. Very sad that a cow had to give its life for this. Not recommended.

Early June 2025 we went for dinner on a weekday. We had made a reservation at 6:00 PM. When we arrived we were almost alone in the restaurant. This allowed the owner to chat with us. Very friendly woman. We got some explanation about the origins of the restaurant and she told us their ideas about the interior. The seats provide a lot of privacy, which makes you feel like you are alone with your table companions. The food is more than fine. Enough choice for meat and fish lovers. The portions are big enough, even for big eaters. We will definitely come back.

We had dinner here on Friday evening. Nice place and very nice waitresses. However, there were not enough staff for the number of guests, so we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. Hence the two stars for service. And when we asked for a medium rare T-bone steak, we were served an almost raw steak (see photo). It looks like the steak went onto the grill frozen/cold, so the outside looked good but the inside had just thawed. Afterwards we heard from the waitress that there is only 1 grill to prepare all the food. This is a call to the owner; hire more staff or fewer customers.

One of the worst steaks I have ever eaten in my life. Dry steak, my friend ordered medium and it came rare. When he asked to cook the steak more, they took it away and returned it exactly the same within a minute. We were too hungry and embarrassed to return the plates and leave, we ate it with disgust. I do not recommend.

I am a cook and this is one of the worst places to eat meat I have ever been to in my life!! I don't understand the name grill since the meat is steamed and they put the meat raw. I asked for it medium and they brought it raw, I asked them to make it a little more and a minute later they brought it back exactly the same and cold. A shame. Definitely a place not to go to eat if you don't want to leave disappointed. I could make a big list listing all the bad and unprofessional things I saw. Really disgusting.
