We come to Texel every year, and a visit to Restaurant Eiland has become a must for us! 🥰 The food is consistently excellent, and we've never been disappointed. The quality is simply fantastic, especially the meat, which is always grilled to perfection. The portions are also very generous – you really get a good amount on your plate! We look forward to our visit every year and are always amazed by how consistently delicious the food is. For us, it's an absolute must-visit on Texel! We definitely love coming back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! ❤️

Because it is always so busy here, we decided to eat here. My son and wife had a pizza; it looked good and tasted good. My daughter had a pasta dish that was tasty. My father had a seafood platter and said it was good. I had the mussels myself; I found them tasty but not exceptionally good, I've had better. The service is good; we only had to go inside once to order drinks, but they came right away.

Our culinary adventure at the Eiland Texel Steakhouse. We were actually on our way to the Vogelhuis in De Koog. Unfortunately, the prospect of a good steak led us to the steakhouse. The menu alone, which is usually the hallmark of a "good" restaurant, should have been a deterrent. It was so incredibly shabby and carelessly designed that it should serve as a warning. They offer such a wide variety of dishes that the sheer number of options rules out the use of fresh ingredients. The overall condition of the restaurant is neglected to the point of being unappetizing. The beer arrives at the table in true Oktoberfest style with a third of the glass still covered in foam. When the glass is empty, the waiters pay little to no attention, and you only get a refill after asking several times. The staff are generally very inattentive. The salt and pepper shakers on the table are from Lidl. Not a problem in itself, but I would have at least transferred it to "neutral" containers… If you order a bottle of water, it's placed on the table in a PET bottle. The appetizer, in my case a beef carpaccio, was actually quite good. But that was the highlight of the evening. The bread plate with herb butter was almost disgusting. The herb butter had apparently been left out in the kitchen for a while, so an oily layer had formed on top, and the rest was lumpy. My wife ordered a vegetarian lasagna as her main course. It came with Bolognese sauce. After asking several times whether it was made with vegetarian mince, we received conflicting answers, and in the end, it was taken back to the kitchen. After that, my wife's food was lost and never came back. Two of us had the beef fillet with paprika sauce. I've eaten a lot of steaks in my life, but this piece of meat, about 1 cm thick and completely overcooked, was a disaster. I can only imagine it somehow made its way from the supermarket, shrink-wrapped, into the pan. The paprika sauce was definitely from a carton, too. Another person's mixed grill was definitely entirely from the freezer section of a supermarket chain. Probably Lidl, like the spice mills. My daughter's kids' burger was also the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. Two small frozen patties between the soft buns, and nothing else. There was a bit of salad on the plate. Ketchup/mayo was simply thrown on the plate after we asked for it. Luckily, after all the disappointments, the staff can't do math. When they added up the handwritten orders on scraps of paper, we were underpaid by about 60 euros for seven people. We just accepted it as compensation. Anyone who wants to get really annoyed about a dinner will definitely find themselves in the right place here.

Hair all over the food, no discount, nothing... Stay far away from this place... No quality at all, no cutlery... and just throwing the bill in front of your nose.

The food is very good for the price you pay. But I find it very disappointing that the staff all speak loudly to each other in Arabic. I have been coming here for many years. And the food has never disappointed me, but for me, this is a downside.

The food is delicious and the portions are generous. I'm deducting one star, though, because we tried the delivery service yesterday and waited over two hours (!) for our food. I called a total of four times and was repeatedly told that the food would arrive in five minutes. That was a huge disappointment!

Delicious pizzas with a thin, crispy crust and fresh ingredients. Sharing pizza was no problem. The beer was also very tasty. The service was friendly and we felt welcome. The chairs are surprisingly comfortable, making it easy to stay seated for a while. The prices are fine and match the quality you get. We enjoyed our meal here and would undoubtedly return.

Eaten a very bad piece of meat.... We ordered a 300g beef tenderloin.....what was presented on the plate looked more like a fried shoe sole! Flat, tough, and tasteless.....it shouldn't be allowed to put that on the menu as beef tenderloin. Not worth repeating.

The pizza was okay, the crust a bit thin. Unfortunately, we received a mushroom pizza instead of a salami one. Since we absolutely don't eat mushrooms, we had to complain. A salami pizza did arrive, but from the moment we complained, there was no further service. The tables were very sticky, and overall the dining area wasn't very hygienic.

Yesterday we ordered the ribeye and tenderloin; we left half of the meat because it was quite tough. The waiter came to ask if everything was to our liking. We mentioned that the meat was quite tough and difficult to cut, and I demonstrated how to do it, but the man just walked away. It's quite a shame, even though the dishes weren't expensive; you would expect some quality in that case.

Too bad, the meat was terribly dry and tough, both the rib-eye and the tenderloin. This chef possibly has more of a knack for fries and pizzas. Consequently, we skipped the drinks and desserts. It was food, but of insufficient quality for a pleasant dinner.

The food was delicious. More than enough. Friendly service. And yes, the interior is outdated. But the food was really good. And that's the most important thing.

Good restaurant, tasty food for little money

After two months, I went out for dinner again at Steakhouse Eiland on Texel. A day out couldn't end without a delicious meal. And how! A 3-course meal for 30 euros? (Excl. drinks.) You don't find that very often anymore... I was greeted by the owner with a big smile and was given a lovely table by the window. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant. It was nice and quiet! (Although I have to say, the man deserves a few more customers.) After a beer, the dishes arrived. I chose a delicious creamy tomato soup, which was delicious! Paired with baguette and a bowl of herb butter, this soup truly made a fantastic starter. Then came the starter: I chose the sirloin steak, served in a delicious stroganoff sauce, with fries, baked potato, and herb butter, and a lovely fresh salad on the side! And boy, was it delicious! And then came dessert, my favorite!: The banana split! Two delicious scoops of ice cream, two bananas, drizzled with chocolate sauce, and topped with whipped cream! What a delicious and unique experience! This was my second time on Texel, and at Steakhouse Eiland, and they'll definitely see me again! Owner, if you're reading this, thank you for the service and the delicious food, and see you next time!

The service was very friendly. There's no English menu, but it's in Dutch (obviously) and German. The food was tasty, but it quickly became cold. It was generally very cold and windy that day, so that's okay, it happens. The restaurant itself was also chilly. I ordered the restaurant's special.

We had a very tasty meal; the price-quality ratio is certainly very good. I must say that the pizzas we ate were certainly more than sufficient, and the staff was very friendly and fast.

The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. We were particularly impressed by how lovingly and attentively they treated a group of people with disabilities. We both ordered a pizza, which was freshly prepared and well-topped. However, there was a bit too much cheese on it for our personal taste – if you prefer less cheese, perhaps you could mention that when ordering. All in all, a very pleasant visit that we can recommend!

It's been a regular spot for years, the food is excellent. Nothing too complicated, plenty of choices at a reasonable price. They've actually gotten better and better over the years.

The food was fantastic. The service was good and friendly. We enjoyed the delicious spareribs and pasta fruiti di mare. There was a slight issue with the bill, but it was resolved very quickly! We'd love to come back on our next vacation.

We love eating here, especially the pizzas, which are incredibly delicious! Unfortunately, it can be quite loud at times, and you sometimes feel like you're being watched even if you're sitting outside. Otherwise, it's really great, and the staff are all friendly and very attentive!🥰

It was a great place for reasonable prices. I recommend ordering Italian food; the pizza was excellent. The meat was a bit ordinary. The atmosphere wasn't great, and you had to make your own food. The interior could also use some updating.

The food is delicious and the service is fast plus the people who work there are very friendly and nice but if you go to eat here, there are a lot of people smoking sadly 😔 (I got carbonara and it was delicious).

Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant. We ordered shaorma and the grill plate. The kebab has nothing to do with kebabs. It seems to be defrosted, ready-made meat.

There may be too much on the menu... pasta... pizzas... kibbeling... I think you have to go to the pizzeria or fish restaurant for that. I'm not sure but I think that's what it is. After reading the mixed reviews, I finally decided to dine with five people. 1 x island menu. 2 x chicken fillet with mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions. 1 x ribeye steak. 1 x Napoli pizza. With drinks and fries. Well, the food was surprisingly good. Good portions and the food was well prepared. Pleasantly surprising. The price is definitely reasonable for what you get. A tip: add ice cubes to your drinks, as they weren't really cold. Recommended?? Absolutely.👌👌 Good service that repeatedly asked if everything was to your liking. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely worth the stars.

What a huge disappointment. We ordered from Steakhouse Eiland on Texel, and I'm typing this while eating because I really wonder how this restaurant still has customers. First of all: the portions are ridiculously small. The soup for €5.50? After two spoons it was simply gone. Seriously - two spoons! That is not normal and simply misleading. The fries were downright disgusting: white, dry, limp and tasted as if they had been fried five days ago and quickly reheated. The meat was tough, salty and tasteless. Not fresh at all, not cared for, just rushed and prepared without love. For the price you pay, you expect at least a decent meal. What you get here is a bare, soulless mess on your plate. You really feel like you're being ripped off. My advice: save yourself the annoyance and absolutely do not order here. There are plenty of other places on Texel where they know what cooking is. This was a waste of our money and our evening.

I wanted to try the T-bone steak on offer. Unfortunately, it was no longer available (we arrived an hour after opening and the place was still empty). I then ordered the ribeye, medium rare. What I got was an absolute disgrace. The meat wasn't even as thick as a finger, crisscrossed with tendons, and so thin in some places that you could see the plate. The cooking quality was absolutely not right; it was completely raw inside and already cold when served. The service, however, was super friendly, and we received a very warm welcome. At the end of the day, almost €30 for this "steak" is an absolute disgrace. It was at most some offcuts from another cut. It's a shame that they call themselves a steakhouse and then perform so poorly.

Ordered kibbeling and ribbertjes for 130€ with 8 adults......there was less than 50€ on your plate! OUTRAGEOUS🤢🤮 The ribs were dried out, kibbeling from the factory, so not fresh as you would expect on an island. A bowl of lettuce, cucumber, tomato and lots of onion, no dressing........ and for dessert a black hair between the fries.... 🤮 Unfortunately, never again🤢🤢🤢 I took a photo but unfortunately I can't post it.....

Never again. What a mockery. Waiting for the food took a long time. Once there we had to wait quite some time for the sauces, which made the food cold. Had to ask a few times where it was so we could start eating. At checkout they said yes sorry kitchen was busy.

The waiter started handing out the menus while we were still standing. Then he felt it necessary to play a joke with the card. Had dinner with five people. With the mixed grill, the shawarma was cold and the skewer and kabab were warm. Not much else special. Too bad, it used to be better.

Very tasty steak (200g) served with potato salad and fries. Generous portions! The spaghetti was also very tasty. The food came quickly, the service was good. I can't complain about anything, the prices are great for de Koog! You pay €10 more in other restaurants and get identical food.
