A lovely, cozy restaurant with, above all, delicious Indian food. Good value and quality. Clean, fast service. Definitely recommended.

The chicken roll was just lettuce and very little chicken. The next day, everyone almost got sick, and some even threw up. And the people there give you strange looks. I'm disappointed.

The food was truly delicious! I was very satisfied, and the staff was also very friendly! I'll definitely be back, and the food was truly outstanding.

Opening hours are not being observed! Before closing time, while ordering at the kiosk, I was yelled at from behind the counter that they were closed. With a huge grin, the woman told me she was already counting the cash and that the tandoori man had already gone home. I understand that 10 minutes before closing, I can only take one order home. But to refuse it just so I can go home early is truly disgraceful.

Just had this meal and it was absolutely delightful every bite was bursting with flavor!

The food itself was fine, and I have nothing further to complain about. What I found very strange, however, was the way leftovers were handled. When I asked if I could take the leftovers home (which is quite normal), I was given containers and had to transfer the food myself. It felt like I was at a takeout restaurant. On top of that, there was an additional 50 cent charge per container—which was only mentioned afterward. It's not about the money, but it feels unfriendly and awkward. This is definitely not the service I expect in a restaurant. It's a shame, because these kinds of little things ultimately determine whether you'll return.

Ordered via thuiszorgd. Indicates that food was delivered but never received. Called the hall and was simply told that it was bad luck and we can't do anything

The Biryani with lamb is delicious and certainly contains enough meat, which for €14.50 is very good. The only downside is that there was only 1 sauce, where there often should be 2, and that the biryani is in a deep plate, making it difficult to mix with the meat, but that should not affect the taste. All in all, I definitely recommend it, it is also Halal and the bread is freshly made from the tandoor oven!

Enjoyed our Lunch here, it's a fine dine restaurant, price is good as per the atmosphere & location.. Overall taste, ambience and service was very good.. Allo pratha and flavored lassi was amazing..

Food not super hot, wasn't very much, very bland for Indian food. Naan was limp and tough. Already quite expensive for not much food and not super tasty either. Well, that's our opinion.

Had a nice meal at Punjabi Alexandrium. Shared Chicken Tikka and Lamb Biryani together and with that we had a nice lunch. Sauces match the dishes perfectly, seem homemade, but if not, fine. Have a lemon mint lemonade with it, I say! Someone previously wrote about uninterested staff, well that didn't bother us. Everything with a smile!

Not recommended, you hardly get any meat in your dish. Hygiene leaves much to be desired, they leave cutlery trays on the table, everyone sits with their hands in it, it's really dirty and you don't know who touched it all. The food is too pricey for such small portions

Ate here with 2 friends. We were so happy that they were open quite early so we didn't have to wait until a (late) lunch. Ordering was easy via the screen, but it was not very clear which dishes were spicy. The food came quickly and smelled so good that I forgot to take a photo first. The people were also super friendly, we could get peppers at the cash register to make the dish a bit spicier. We will definitely eat here again soon. Highly recommended

Fake lams, scam allert. Most of indian food in rotterdam uses fake lams. I expected by this expensive and fancy restaurant to use real lamb meat. DONT ORDED IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SCAMMED.

Very tasty food, they also have plenty of vegetarian dishes. Nice and attractive restaurant. Fresh food, open kitchen, clean and nice staff. We will be back soon. Thanks to the chef!!!

The only good are naan because they are made fresh in the oven. The rest of the food is tasteless, oily, greasy, artificially colored chicken Tikka, no flavors. Staff is unfriendly for the most part, lassi overly sweetened, plates are dirty - I had wipe them all of the moisture and sort out the clean ones myself. On the plate cleanliness they need an official food inspection check for sure.

Butter chicken, and samosa menu with chai tea. Nice meal, cup of tea could have been bigger but it was tasty. Sure it doesn't taste like a samosa from Mumbai but they do their best

This eatery is located in the Rotterdam Alexandrium shopping center. Although they have several dishes on the menu, I come back here for their Chicken Masala with plain naan bread and Chai tea. I love it so much and can recommend it to everyone!

Great food, but the images are not correct for chef's specials, a biryani is depicted with pyoza, it turns out that for 16 euros you get a pyoza with a little naan bread, very misleading

Tasty spicy food in Alexandrium Mall.

I have no problem with the food. I tried biryani and butter chicken, and it tasted well. But the young lady at the cashier was very rude. I was asking for takeaway for my food, but she was not showing a polite way to do that. Instead of helping me to put the food in the box (I know it’s normal in the Netherlands), she asked me to do it by myself. At that time, I had already brought my food to the cashier. I also asked her how to put the sauce. Instead of putting it in plastic, she forced me to put it in the same box with the rice. For some reason, I don’t really like when the sauce is combined with the rice, or it may even leak from the pack. After that, I went back to the cashier and let her cover it with the plastic because she didn’t give me the cover and then went back to my table. Lastly, instead of bringing the food to my table, she called me and asked me to take it. What a shame waiter! Additionally, the bread maker was on a video call and laughed, which was unprofessional. The young lady I mentioned earlier was also chewing and eating something while preparing the food.

Awful experience! There was hair in the chicken biryani, and the staff was extremely unfriendly!!! The cashier didn’t even apologize for the hair in the food. On top of that, the table was dirty. Save your money and time, don’t bother going there! Reply: To clarify, I returned the first biryani completely because of the issue, and you reluctantly offered a replacement. I couldn’t eat it because of how the earlier experience made me feel. I packed it only to give it to someone else. What’s even more disappointing is that you are defending the situation without even offering an apology !!!

Delicious food, but for €15 you expect a little more than 5 pieces of chicken in your Butter chicken. What you get with the "salad" is also ridiculous, just 1 bite. It tasted good and naan was also prepared in an authentic way. service is arrogant and rude, employees are facetiming during working hours.

Much better than the location in Leidschendam! 4 stars is only for the food and drinks. Staff doesn't deserve a star at all! The quality of food and drinks in Leidschendam has really deteriorated. So I thought I'd give this a try somewhere else, and luckily I liked it. Here it still tastes like the first time I ate at this chain. The curries tasted good and so did the daals in the thali. The naan tasted fresh and the lemonades had a good taste. Not too sweet, but refreshing. The staff is lousy and the service is poor! There was a friendly lady who was a bit helpful, but the rest seemed forced to work and preferred to look at their mobile. At first I was not allowed to order at the counter, but the touch screen machine did not work properly, so I ended up ordering at the counter fifteen minutes later. In the meantime, she had already helped 3 other people at the counter... She helped one and not the other. Later a lassie fell over a lady and the staff stood alone watching. Literally, they stood there and watched… So we asked if they could clean this up after 10 minutes. The lady who had the lassie thrown over her did not get a new one and the staff had difficulty coming up with a mop. For the same money someone had fallen... Furthermore, the lady's clothes were also covered in the lassie but no one from the staff offered help. We then gave some wet wipes to the lady so she could clean her clothes, shoes and coat. So that's why I think the staff here is lousy. The word service and customer friendliness is simply not there. Finally, there is more space in this location. Fortunately, the chairs and tables are not on top of each other, but there is a bit of distance, so you can sit quietly without being pushed around. Highly recommended in terms of food, but not at all in terms of service. Vegan options are very nice, but also sufficient for fish or meat lovers.

Second time with a friend, on my recommendation because the first time was very good. Unfortunately I woke up in the middle of the night with stomach cramps and then diarrhea. Friend exactly the same complaints. We had a chicken roll and a chicken biryani. I suspect the chicken was not quite right and/or a hygiene problem. The staff was rude, as if they were forced to be there. Sorry about this bad experience. The Punjabi market hall is my preference, but I won't be eating there again anytime soon.

Really nice meal. Delicious paneer curry with freshly made naan & aloo paratha. Quite pricey but good portion. I think the staff speaks poor Dutch, which can sometimes seem blunt

To eat: My girlfriend and I had dinner there. The food tasted good, I had chicken vindaloo, with plain naan. The lemon mint drink was delicious. Realm: The atmosphere was not cozy, staff was disinterested, distant and unfriendly. Service: Only English was spoken. We had to order and pick up ourselves. I am an older person and had to navigate between the tables and chairs with a large, heavy tray. There were fries trampled on the floor, tables and chairs were otherwise in good condition. Cutlery was not clean and was on the table without protection. Anyone could touch it, so a person can easily contract bacteria. My friend had leftover food and took the food home. She had to pay 80 euro cents for the container.

Mixed feeling about the Biryani. It is decent, but not amazing. I wonder if Basmati rice is being used, it didn’t seem like it. The restaurant looks very hygienic though.

I was here the first time today. To my surprise it was super delicious. I ordered chicken chili naan. The taste was unbeatable. I will come here more often to try the other dishes.

Got food poisoning yesterday while working. There is something seriously wrong with the hygiene there. Contacted the owner and he claimed that we are all allergic. Ever heard of an allergic reaction that occurs after more than half a day??! This is not the first time, because after the incident we were told by other team members that they experienced the same thing last week.

So I thought: let me order a kebab roll from Punjabi. I have had a nice meal there in the past. Pay almost 25 euros and then the long wait began. After almost an hour and a half the delivery person arrived. Mind you, this place is at most a fifteen-minute walk from my house. The kebab rolls were of course icy cold. I tried to warm them up, but that didn't make them any better. So the entire order of 25 euros was thrown into the trash bin. Thanks Punjabi! Enjoy the 25 euros you received from me because those are the last euros you will ever “earn” from me.

Staff are not friendly, disinterested, hang over the counter and do not help if you have questions about a menu. My son unfortunately bumped his drink because I managed to clean the table and chair for the most part, but I could not clean the floor. I indicated whether she had a cloth or something else, but she walked away and started gossiping with her colleague without any response. Woman behind the counter is chewing her gum and doesn't look friendly at all. I often eat here alone because it is really tasty, but it would help enormously if the staff would also be a little better. This time the food was also cold, but because she did not come back for cleaning, I felt bad about complaining about this too.

Veg thali, plain naan, samosas. The veg thali contained 2 pieces of meat. Naan was rock hard. Samosas were old and dripping with oil, having been re-fried several times. Food was almost spoiled. You could smell that. Staff at checkout is strange. Gossip (yes I understand the language) in front of you. Vegetarian must be without meat. But this just had meat in it. We don't come here anymore. Quality, hygiene, food safety and service are important, but that is not the case here. Eating customers leave everything on the tables and it is not cleared up quickly. We were here on October 25, 2024. Never again for us.

I'm a critical eater, but this was really tasty and flavorful in terms of spices. Many tents have high ratings but food is muah. This one is rated too low for the food it provides. We took a tree with different types of food and sandwiches. One of them was a bit dry but the rest of the food was very good

Excellent curry, only asked for midium spicy, but the curry was so spicy that it was impossible to eat it unfortunately! I like spicy, but when it's so spicy that I can't taste anything else, it's unfortunately going too far.

Hello Punjabi Food owner, Please check on YouTube how to make biryani you will find plenty of videos there :) , Just mixing fry rice with chicken is not biryani , atleast change the name to chicken pulao or something but not biryani.

I got positivity surprised with Punjabi restaurant. The food was superb! The meals are quite generous, and since I wanted to try many of them, of course I couldn’t eat it all. The staff was friendly enough to provide me with packages so I could take away my food. There veggie and kids options/menus as well. The spices are just on spot, not too much, and not too little. The ordering is optimised with totens. Well done job people! Very much recommended!

The cutlery here has stains (probably from the dishwasher) but other than that this place is great. Would not expect such a good Indian restaurant inside a shopping centre! The portions may seem a bit small, but they are filling enough. I liked all the choices and the quality of the food is very good with friendly service. They're fast and efficient too. An Indian friend of mine recommended the Punjabi samosa chai for the next time, which is apparently very authentic.

I give four stars because the quality of the food is really good. I like it very much. When we asked for extra ketchup, we got it for free. The further service… really made no sense at all. We were the only ones in the business. There were four people working, all leaning over the counter very disinterestedly. We didn't know we had to clear our tray. We were clearly reminded without any smile whether we wanted to do that. I'll probably pick it up again because it's easy and tasty, but not for the service.

Food is authentic and fresh, the concept is just like American fast food restaurants. Order on a screen at the entrance, pay, grab the buzzer, wait until it goes off and pick it up at the counter. It is not for an extensive dinner here with table service. But if you want something authentic and locally prepared in between, this is fine.

I think I've eaten here 20 times now and it's delicious! The curries with chicken and mango coconut are especially delicious. Fills well too! Only garlic naan could use more garlic flavor.. Furthermore, toilet/chair/tables are fine

They are scammers with their prices!! €11 for just a bowl of spinach with some chicken, strangely enough I also had to pay €4.50 for a small bowl of rice, crazy expensive!! And hadn't even ordered a drink yet. I indicated that I thought it was way too spicy, the manager (chef) said that I should have mentioned that I did not want it that spicy. If he had just not asked by answering the counter, it seems only normal to me. Because it was so spicy I wanted to take it with me. A container was placed in front of me and I had to put it in myself at the checkout. I said that was not a sight. Received a more unclear response in some sort of Indian English. He did wipe the edges of the bowl, but putting it in the bowl for the guest is apparently too much to ask. By now I was done with that food shed, they didn't have an extractor hood, the smell stays in you for days.

Unfortunately the food was not very tasty and after this we suffered from food poisoning, stomach flu and so on. Not worth repeating, I got really sick from it and after a few hours my intestines started to get upset because of the food.

Was in front of the counter for 10 minutes today. The man in the chef's hat behind the counter was busy with his phone. Several tables had also not been cleared. I'm writing this because the owner should know this. We ended up eating elsewhere.

The smell of the food lured me to this place. I was happy to see that the tandoori chicken was actually prepared in a tandoor oven just like the naan bread. Ordering at the ordering column was easy and I took a seat with a buzzer. It is best to rinse and polish the cutlery in the containers on the table yourself with a tissue because there were still some small pieces of food residue on the cutlery. When I picked it up at the counter, the food was on a plate with all kinds of handy compartments for all the sauces and the Indian lentils. The menu is not very extensively described, so I didn't actually know what the sauces were exactly and what kind of curry the lentils were in. The 2 sauces, the green one a bit spicy with mint and yogurt and the brown sauce savory sweet. Among the lentils were still hard lentils or perhaps whole coriander seeds, which were not really pleasant to eat. The chicken leg tasted different like I've had before but maybe it was a different taste because they come from a different region. The salad was some raw vegetables with yogurt or mayonnaise dressing and the garlic naan was very tasty. As you can read in other reviews, it could all be a bit more spiced. I noticed when I was outside that the smell of the food was in my clothes, which is nice if you don't have to go to the movies or something like that. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely come back for the naan.

Ordered chili chicken for take away. The chicken tasted old. And it was too sweet. It didn’t taste like chili chicken at all.. May be not their best dish to try.

Authentic and tasty Indian food

Indiaas fastfood restaurant. Het eten vind ik erg lekker. Misschien qua uiterlijk wat eenvoudiger dan op de plaatjes, kwaliteit is goed. Personeel mag wat meer vriendelijkheid uitstralen zoals we dat hier gewend zijn in de horeca. Verder ok voor een lunch of snelle hap. Prijs is wat aan de hoge kant.

Nice tasting food and not too spicy. Family friendly with kids meals. Nice selection to choose from. Nice drinks including home made lemonade and lassi.

Vanmiddag had ik een chicken wrap besteld met mango smoothie. De wrap was super goed gevuld en de mango smoothie erg smaakvol. Vriendelijke medewerkster aan de kassa die me snel heeft opgeholpen

Ik ken de Indiaase keuken niet goed genoeg, lastig te beoordelen of dit de authentieke smaken zijn. Ik nam het Punjabi lam en rijst. (Rijst en naan moeten apart besteld worden). Redelijke portie lam, " saus" waarin het lamsvlees lag was best dun. Smaak is goed, geen dikke smaak. Zeker niet pittig, had best wat meer pit in gemogen. Ambiance is ok, voor de snelle hap. Prijs, best prijzig. Lamsgerechtje 12 eu, portie basmatie rijst 4 eu!. Colaatje erbij en dan reken je voor een snelle lunch toch bijna 20 eu af. Zoals gezegd, smaak goed, voor herhaling vatbaar? Waarschijnlijk niet.

We were in Punjabi Food for the first time and it was very good experience. It is nice and clean place. We had butter chicken with rice, salad and naan - for me it was 10/10. I also tried their limonade - lime with mint. This limonade was not refreshing as I expected it to be (because of higher amount of suagr) but it was tasty. Delicious food for a good price 👌.

Ik loop vaak langs deze winkel en ben er nooit gaan eten omdat ik me niet kon voorstellen dat het lekker zou zijn. Ik vond de presentatie van het eten niet zo. Het leek of de rijst in de kom was gekwakt. Ik had biryani besteld en was erg zout. Het kommetje van het sausje erbij was helemaal besmeurd met saus, sausje was verder wel lekker. Ik had trek, maar zelfs dan viel het tegen. Personeel was denk ik klaar met de dag. Jammer.
