A gem in Valkenburg aan de Geul: the team paid full attention to the delicious, surprising food, accompanied by an excellent wine pairing, and really spoiled us. We enjoyed a fantastic evening in beautiful surroundings!

You can truly feel the dedication of the whole team. It was such a wonderful evening that words can hardly do it justice.

What an incredibly lovely afternoon we had at Ambrozijn! We started the afternoon with a delicious aperitif on the beautiful terrace, a perfect start to a wonderful culinary experience. Afterwards, we were warmly welcomed and given a lovely table up by the balustrade, with a beautiful view of the kitchen. It was wonderful to see the passion and dedication of both the kitchen team and the service staff up close. The food was delicious, the pairings were carefully chosen, and we got to taste unique flavors and dishes. Everything was spot on: the atmosphere, the service, and the quality of the dishes. An extra compliment to the two hosts who guided us throughout the afternoon. Their knowledge, enthusiasm, hospitality, and personal attention made the experience even more special. A big compliment to the entire team, both in the kitchen and in the service. As far as we are concerned, they absolutely deserve an award for their craftsmanship and hospitality. Had a wonderful dinner; surprising and creative from the first amuse-bouche to the very last bite. Beautiful location (to which there are sometimes subtle references in the dishes) and a team that are perfect ambassadors of Limburg hospitality. This establishment will undoubtedly continue to grow into one of the absolute top spots in the region!

I rarely give 5 stars and this time it is totally worth it. Locationwise we are inside an old church totally renovated in 2020, maintaining the vibes and respecting the original design. All the team are really focused on make you feel comfortable and trying to make you enjoy the experience. Food is great, both in term of quality and quantity. We had the surprise menu with 3 courses (go for it!). Cannot complain on anything, just one suggestion on the Sparkling and Reisling German wines: I would have served at least 5/7 degrees colder (that would have help to better enjoy the small antipasti and the Tumnafish tartare).

Beautiful location with delicious dishes. The menu is well-coordinated. The service could be a bit better, otherwise, this restaurant deserves a star in my opinion. All in all, a very nice experience, excellent value for money.

Sublime! Men if you want to treat your wifes ... this is the place! I'm not one for the little portions that they serve BUT EVERY SINGLE DISH we were served was so tastefull I wanted a whole big plate of it. By the 4th dish I just did not know how they could keep up the level? And yet they did. The young owner and chef should be serving kings. The servers was another pleasure. Efficient, articulate, friendly, witty and comforting. Truely a heavenly experience. The church has been converted into a beautiful space that you want to linger in. I am a convert and would go out of my way to come again.

We had a wonderful meal at Ambrozijn. A wonderful evening of entertainment, even though the kitchen was quite busy, as the staff so aptly pointed out. Personally, for us, it all took far too long (sometimes 45 minutes between courses) so tables could be combined in the kitchen. Sometimes it's good to check with guests to see how they're doing in the race so we can be more mindful of that. Thanks to the Ambrozijn team, we had a wonderful time!

Enjoyed a delicious 6-course dinner after a very personal welcome with even our name on the menu! Surprising flavor combinations, delicious bites and a very nice atmosphere! An absolute must for anyone who loves gastronomic dining. We will definitely come back! Not unimportant: where things often go wrong with my nut allergy (even in really good restaurants), everything was perfectly coordinated here, which ensured a carefree evening. Chapeau!

It's a pity that nothing is done by reporting the tendon present in the pigeon. Chef indicates that he is disappointed that it is happening, but there is no offer of coffee, discount or something like that.... Missed opportunity because it put a huge damper on otherwise good cooking for me. Shame

Phenomenal food and service. We had the six course chefs menu and were blown away by every dish. The sauces were to die for and the wine pairing exemplary. The ambiance of the renovated church was stunning, the attention to detail evident in all interior design choices, impressed by how the bar mimicked the form of a church organ.

Service takes coat upon entry and service has ready knowledge. The team's collaboration is great to see. Congratulations to Sven Nijenhuis, Tim Davids and the rest of the team! - Atmosphere: The design, both outside and inside, is particularly 'classy', beautifully finished with wood, among other things; From the outside it looks like a fairytale. The rock wall at the rear of the church completes it. - Food: Well, try it yourself… Exceptionally delicious! There is no shortage of culinary delights.

Amazing experience - food was innovative, stunning to look at and delicious. The service was amazing and everyone was welcoming and friendly. I was a solo diner - and they had waiting for me on the table magazines to read - a very thoughtful touch. The restaurant being in a former church was atmospheric and I liked how they incorporated at times the design of the building into the food and/or platting. It was also nice the restaurant was gently airconditioned, which was useful as it was a hot outside in August!

Spectacularly good. The chef literally cooks a star in the sky with heart and soul. So pay attention next October at the ceremony. It is very clear that the chef has learned his trade at renowned celebrity establishments and you can taste that. Wonderful ambiance in an attractive church. Beautiful flavors, beautiful accents and with your own signature. For this purpose I happily drive 15 minutes from Maastricht (for work). This place is a must go for anyone visiting Limburg and offers a truly wonderful culinary evening. Don't hesitate about the 7 courses, you just want to taste them all. Nice price/quality.

Had a 4 course dinner at Ambrozijn on June 20. A great restaurant in a church. Who comes up with something like that? The decor is beautiful, very well done. You will be pampered by the staff. All praise for them. The food tastes very good. Personally, I have never had such delicious food. The presentation of all the snacks is fantastic. In addition to the good taste, this is double enjoyment. They are works of art. My wife and I are very satisfied, it's a pity that it is so far from home for us, namely a 2.5 hour drive. If we are in the area again in the future, I will definitely make a reservation again

It was an interesting gastronomic experiment in a very beautiful place. We took the five course menu. This turned out to be a lot for us, since they also served aperitifs. All dishes were original, some were liked more, some less. The only thing I would like to warn you about is that dinner takes four hours, we arrived at 18.30, left at 22.30, and were a little tired. Get ready).

What an experience it was on Saturday. We were welcomed outside on the lounge terrace. With a glass of champagne and delicious oysters, various surprising and tasty amuses followed. At the chef's table, where you sit around the bar and can see the staff preparing the dishes, we enjoyed the 7-course menu with wine pairing. It was delicious. Afterwards, because the sommelier thought we were real connoisseurs, we were allowed to visit the wine cave with him... fantastic how a natural space perfectly preserves the wine. Thanks to everyone at Ambrozijn. We will definitely come back.

It was truly a culinary experience. We deliberately opted not for the menu but for the Bisque Ceremony. A whole lobster was served in 2 dishes (see photos). Because you can sit at the chef's table (where the chef and his team can be seen at work), you can see the entire preparation process. It was really great and highly recommended!! The best restaurant I've been to in a long time. Had a delicious 5-course menu, of which every course was excellent. The service was great and the sommelier told us many fun facts about the wines served. I have a gluten allergy myself and she handled that very well, I even got my own gluten-free sandwich. I definitely recommend sitting at the kitchen! We would travel all over the country again especially for Ambrozijn.

Heerlijk eten, aanrader om de chef’s table te kiezen: uitzicht op de keuken en voor je ogen zien hoe het eten wordt klaargemaakt is fantastisch.

Zeer geslaagde avond gehad met twee vrienden. Zes gangen diner met wijnarrangement was een culinaire reis vol verrassingen. Er werd goed rekening gehouden met voedselallergie en intolerantie en de bediening was attent maar ook vlot en informeel - waardoor het niet stijfjes werd. Het pand is van buiten en binnen prachtig en dat maakt de avond extra speciaal. Bedankt Ambrozijn voor de goede zorgen en zeker een aanrader als je iets bijzonders wilt meemaken!

Eten ontzettend goed en lekker. Alleen, er zat een stuk schild in het krabgerecht. Erg jammer. Uiteraard gemeld, paar drankjes van de bon af, maar toch. Bediening vriendelijk, maar kennis niet 100%. Wijn was lauw. Ook moesten we soms lang wachten tussen de gerechten door en werden ze niet altijd gelijktijdig geserveerd aan tafel. Als je 320 euro per stel uitgeeft, dan verwacht je wel dat de avond beter geregisseerd is. Als ik het in één woord zou moeten samenvatten: zonde. Het had super kunnen zijn.

Wat een prachtig restaurant, met een geweldige sfeer en heerlijk eten! De inrichting is echt doordacht en mooi vormgegeven, gewoonweg prachtig! We hadden een plekje aan de chef's table en konden het team keurig en beheerst aan het werk zien. De gerechten waren werkelijk verrukkelijk! De sauzen die bij de gerechten geserveerd werden, waren zo lekker dat we er bijna van wilden smullen, het enige nadeel was dat we geen lepeltje erbij kregen om de laatste restjes op te eten. Gelukkig hadden we brood en hebben we de sauzen keurig opgedept voordat onze borden werden weggehaald :-). Het wijnarrangement was ook fantastisch, we waren aangenaam verrast en de wijnen pasten uitstekend bij het eten. Het was leuk dat we bij sommige gerechten konden kiezen tussen twee wijnen, dit zorgde voor een leuke interactie. Zeker een aanrader!

Geweldige avond gehad, erg leuk om de koks van dichtbij aan het werk te zien. Vragen stellen was dan ook geen probleem. Heerlijk genoten van alle gerechten en de wijn spijs combinatie.

Wir entschieden uns für das 7-Gänge-Menu und wurden überschüttet mit traumhaften Gängen, liebevollen und ausgewogenen Kreationen und vielen „Grüßen aus der Küche“. Wir genossen einen wunderschönen und unvergesslichen Abend am Chef‘s Tabe und konnten somit die Professionalität und das Geschick der gesamten Küchencrew miterleben. Danke für Alles und Kompliment an Chef Sven mit seiner gesamten Crew: unaufgeregter, super freundlicher Service mit unheimlich viel Spaß an der Arbeit und dem tollen Ergebnis.

Hier afgelopen jaar gegeten voor mijn verjaardag, echt alles was top! Wij houden ontzettend van goed eten en begeleidende wijnen, proberen dan ook graag verschillende restaurants. Wij hadden alle gangen, inclusief extra's, mochten onverwacht aan de chef's table zitten en konden hierdoor in de keuken kijken. Wat was het genieten.. Het eten, de wijnen en alle andere dranken, de sfeer in het restaurant, sowieso het restaurant zelf is prachtig opgeknapt/aangekleed en uiteraard de service. Alleen maar lof wat deze jonge eigenaren en medewerkers hebben gecreëerd.

Met één woord samen te vatten: SUPER

Verbazendwekkend dat dit restaurant geen michelin ster heeft. Formidabel gegeten. Ster waardig. Complimenten Sven en zijn team..
