As a group of occasional walkers who did not know each other but wanted to have a bite to eat together after a walk, we were confronted with the message that not everyone could pay for themselves, but that this was only possible per table. So you are, as it were, forced to pay for a stranger. I find this really unacceptable. The owner gave the reason that paying per transaction costs money. And that we did not know each other and how we would solve it was not his problem. It did not occur to him that he would turn his problem, the transaction costs, into our problem. When it comes to a few cents, customer friendliness is hard to find.

Beautiful location. We had a cup of coffee and tea in the evening after a walk on the postbank. Well taken care of. Many flavors, and a small piece of brownie as a treat, delicious.

Fresh juice mixed with juice for €5.50, asparagus soup from a carton with some fresh added to it, an ultra expensive toasted sandwich that wasn't very special... a bit of a shame. Good company though :)

Restaurant was ons aangeraden door een vriendin. En het was zeker de moeite waard. Gezellige inrichting. Het eten was gewoon erg goed en ruim voldoende. Lekkere wijn. Vriendelijke bediening en het tempo was precies goed. Bij een volgend bezoek aan de posbank gaan we zeker hier nogmaals eten.

Mooie lokatie maar de prijs/kwaliteit is erbarmelijk. Een matig soepje voor bijna €10. Trage bediening, moesten lang wachten terwijl het niet druk was.

Mijn vriendin en ondergetekende (recensent) wensten ons eenjarig jubileum (samenzijn) te vieren c.q. af te sluiten met een diner. Ik ben - helaas - langdurig ziek (zoekt u overigens eens op de ziekte van 'plots') en hierdoor zeer beperkt in mijn keuzes. Ergo, het zoutgehalte in het eten. Derhalve informeerde ik bij de bediening óf/in hoeverre hiermee rekening kon worden gehouden qua bereiding/samenstelling. De vis, waaronder zalm, op de menukaart werd mij aanbevolen. Zónder saus (hiervoor in de plaats verscheen een 'salade', zie 'garnering'. Mijn vriendin bestelde een voorgerecht (buikspek) .c.m. breekbrood. Porchetta: een deftige(r) aanduiding voor Italiaans buikspek. Dit oogde dusdanig pips dat wijlen Mussolini ervan zou verbleken. Beekbrood: het brood werd koud geserveerd en liet zich het best beschrijven als een kauwgumbal die kaakpijn veroorzaakt. - Zalm: ontsteeg het niveau niet van een diepvriesvariant in uw lokale supermarkt, inclusief graat en lauwwarm opgediend. Dit, terwijl hiervoor een prijs van bijna € 25 wordt gehanteerd. - Zoete aardappelfrietjes: ook lauwwarm, niet bijster royale portie. - De garnering: wat bladsla, her en der gelardeerd met een tomaatje en augurkje. Kortom: geen positieve ervaring, waar een eerder bezoek (lunch) beduidend beter was. De locatie is prettig/mooi, het terrasmeubilair (stalen stoelen) nodigt niet uit om langdurig(er) in te zitten.

Once again we had a delicious dinner at this fantastic place after a nice walk along the Posbank. Enough parking and staff is extremely friendly.

Nice place with friendly staff and good food for a good price. I ordered a seasonal dish with asparagus, but it was not prepared very well. Still a bit hard (the thicker asparagus). My friend had a burger and it was delicious. Staff is fast and friendly, very nice!

We were here for Easter brunch with a group of ten people. After a welcome drink (mimosa with or without alcohol) and a delicious glass of soup, we enjoyed an extensive buffet. The food was very tasty and the staff came by regularly to take drinks orders. One downside: there were virtually no vegetarian options.

De Houtplaats ligt prachtig, met een groot en uitnodigend terras dat op zonnige dagen een fijne plek biedt om neer te strijken. Er is voldoende personeel aanwezig, al blijft de service helaas achter. Lege tafels worden traag afgeruimd en wie iets wil bestellen, moet actief de aandacht trekken—een blik omhoog van het personeel zou al veel schelen. Qua eten kiezen we voor de vis van de dag (zeebaarsfilet met een gerookte knoflook beurre blanc), de hamburger en gegrilde groenten als bijgerecht. De zeebaars is goed bereid, met een subtiele saus die mooi past bij de vis, al is de opmaak aan de sobere kant. De hamburger komt niet zoals besteld (we vroegen om medium rare, hij komt doorbakken), maar gezien de sfeer en het type burger – een wat compact, stevig exemplaar – voelt terugsturen niet gepast. De gegrilde groenten verrassen positief: uitstekend gegaard, smaakvol en mooi gepresenteerd. De Houtplaats heeft potentie, met zijn ligging en ambiance. Maar het mag allemaal wat scherper: betere afstemming in de keuken, meer aandacht voor details op het bord, en bovenal een alertere bediening. Dan zou het terras net zo lekker kunnen smaken als het eruitziet.

Only coffee and pastries, it was too busy and we had to report. We ordered coffee and were directed outside the terrace because of the crowds. Staff was too busy.

Gezellig op het terras gezeten, want het was heerlijk weer. Ja en bitterballen besteld en afgerekend. We vonden het bedrag wat hoog en checken de prijzen. De ober erbij geroepen en gezegd dat het totaalbedrag niet klopte. Hij keek het na en zei dat het wél klopte. Op de kaart stond € 9,50 vermeld voor 8 bitterballen maar we moesten € 12,00 afrekenen. Hij zei, niemand zegt er wat van! Met andere woorden, wat zeuren jullie nou over. Er was een nieuwe kaart in de maak, zei hij, dus voor het gemak hield hij die prijzen dus maar aan.

After a nice walk we thought we would have a nice drink. But unfortunately... the staff looks at you three times and you are clearly ignored, so we move on.

That was a pleasant lunch. Nice environment, good food and pleasant service. Worth repeating.

Delicious food via social deal. Start with a snack board with a soup. The steak of the week as a main course, also delicious. And instead of ice cream, a cup of coffee. Nice neat service. Definitely recommended. A small improvement is that the temperature inside could be slightly higher.

Half november hebben wij hier een zaaltje gehuurd en hebben met met plm 40 vrienden en familie het afscheids- en tevens verjaarsfeestje van Leatitia gevierd. Beter kon niet ! Alles was perfect geregeld en gecombineerd met een geweldige service was het allemaal top. Ook de ligging .. de parkeer-mogelijkheden en de mooie verlichting zorgden voor een buitengwoon geslaagde avond.

In mid-November we rented a room and celebrated Leatitia's farewell and birthday party with about 40 friends and family. Couldn't have been better! ; everything was perfectly arranged and combined with great service it was all great. The location, parking options and beautiful lighting also ensured that everything went well

We hebben met ons zessen prima gegeten.We hadden gereserveerd, maar moesten wel even wachten op onze tafel en dat kon aan een hoge tafel met een drankje. De bediening was vriendelijk en vlot. De menukaart was overzichtelijk en er was genoeg keuze. Het was goed, niet bijzonder.

Nog nooit zo’n slechte clubsandwich gehad. Leek wel of deze al uren klaar stond in de keuken. Alles was koud, brood taai, bacon koud en de kaas was helemaal uitgedroogd en hard. Aangegeven bij bediening dat dit terug kon naar de keuken. Niets nieuws aangeboden en gewoon moeten afrekenen.

Often not a good sign, if your dining experience ends with a meeting with several other guests at a McDonalds just down the road. It was a lovely end to summer evening. All the ingredients seemed to be there when we took a seat on the terrace at 1715. It was busy on the terrace but not overcrowded. Still, not much food got through. We had to wait a while for the starter, antipasti and some bread, which otherwise tasted great. But when we asked at 1915 (after a message around 1830 that it would take a while) whether the food was coming and we had to wait another fifteen minutes, the food was full. The service did its best, but this is (kitchen) mismanagement avant la lettre. If you take on a large party, arrange extra people and capacity, and adapt your menu accordingly. You can also work closed or with a limited menu or only a lunch menu or ensure that people get something extra while waiting, or simply offer them to pay at a discount, but nothing of the sort. So we stopped by the Mac with the kids, we weren't the only ones thinking. Too bad, so much potential, but every euro we still had to pay was too much... No second chance

I came back especially for the Thai-style mussels and sweet potato fries. It was delicious again, just like the seasonal soup and the banana walnut cake. The terrace is cozy and the staff very friendly.

I spent Sunday afternoon with my family. It ended with a delicious lunch at the restaurant. I was there for the first time and did not know what to expect, I ordered a burger and a club sandwich. As for me, it was a lot of food, but it was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating 😅. The food is amazing, very good quality, because I really ate, and didn't stuff myself. The service is very nice, the place is beautiful, great for relaxation. I will definitely go back there again. 🥰

Let me start by saying that my girlfriend and I wanted to end our week of holiday with a nice dinner. We arrived on location in good spirits and were welcomed with a smile. Soon our drink arrived on the table and there the service stopped. We then had to wait more than twenty minutes until there was eye contact with our waitress who finally brought us a menu. Can happen of course. It just didn't stop there. We then had to wait almost forty minutes until we could place our order! Then you would think it was busy, but it wasn't that bad. Anyway, the food arrived quickly and in my opinion it was good, not great. When everything was gone we asked for the dessert menu and you'd never guess it! We ended up having to wait so long for our waitress that we just got up and paid. I would like to say that at times I found her extremely unfriendly. So you pay about a hundred euros for that. Still a bit of a downer at the end of our holiday.

The four of us had not made a reservation and it was quite busy on this sunny Wednesday evening during the holiday period. The sweet waitress did a puzzle and had a table for us provided we finished eating at 7:30 PM. Then we had an hour and a half. Fine, but then it is also up to you how quickly we are helped. That was a deal and we got a nice table. Just something to drink and the menu. All 4 have a different choice. The salmon delicious!, Spareribs delicious! Rendang blissful. Seafood salad, a little less, lots of green but fine👍 Still time for dessert, banana brownie, too delicious. We had a delicious meal, the service was friendly and solution-oriented. Thank you, it was a nice end to a day of cycling and walking on the Posbank, maybe see you next time.

Not all the staff were friendly, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food, so we forgot about it. But the food was good. It was not structured.

The food was very tasty, but burgers and a small drink for €24 are not without it. Service, when it came, was very friendly. Sometimes you were forgotten and overlooked for a moment. The ambience is beautiful, from the terrace you can also watch a beautiful sunset between the trees.

Very poor value for money and ABSOLUTELY not fresh. Stomach complaints afterwards.

When the weather is nice you can sit outside under the trees. Delicious food and great service. When we are in the area, we almost always eat here.

We had already been here once during a weekend away 2 years ago and made a reservation again this time. Our 2 dogs were also there and we had mentioned this when making the reservation. A table with more space had been taken into account, very nice! We ordered a break bread with herb butter in advance. That bread was delicious, very firm crust, fluffy inside. Super fresh. Hubby had a burger on pretzel bread with an extra topping of pulled pork, which was served with fries. My steak didn't come with anything, so I ordered seasonal vegetables (peas, spinach, mushrooms and some chicory if I'm not mistaken) and fries. That ended up being way too much for the two of us. The steak was served with some vegetables. But I always like extra vegetables! We had a delicious meal and the dogs (puppy 17 weeks and 2 years old were super well behaved😇)

Today we celebrated grandma's birthday with a large group of people: everything was well organised. Great service, exceptional price/quality. Recommended! Had a meeting with 50 people, then a BBQ. Very tasty, and everything well organised. Highly recommended!

I had the vegan burger. As vegan burgers go, it was mediocre. Not bad. I didn't love the fries but my cousin did, and she doesn't really like fries. The cool suspended sombreros were a plus, and the fake plants were a minus. We played a fun game with our group where one person needs to guess how the others think they would rank an item of a category, which added to the general atmosphere. The catch of the day, washrooms, and dessert, were very much appreciated.

Nice terrace and everything very tidy. Food (dinner for us) is not cheap but worth it considering the generous portions and the taste. Service could be a bit more attentive and faster.

It’s ok. We only came here for some drinks and a snack. We ordered the nachos because this was one of the few options and the guacamole was not gluten free.. When we waited 20 minutes for this little plaid of chips, they served this separately and informed us about this. Bit of a bummer. Place is nice to sit for a bit. But the snacks are not much for gf.

Well good atmosphere and very polite my wife got everything she wanted extra coffee and sauce and Maggie and extra boiled egg only patience was difficult well prepared but tasty spare ribs and ate again on Sunday

Yesterday I was here with my girlfriend to have a drink on the outside terrace, we asked if the terrace heater could be turned on. And the smart Asian lady didn't allow that, because they were cutting back? I have never experienced such rude service. After insisting a few times, she had to discuss with her boss whether the patio heater could be turned on, and in the end it was. We almost felt guilty. When I went to pay, she asked in a derogatory tone if we were warm. In any case, we will never go here again.

After a walk on the Posbank we had a delicious meal here. We had not made a reservation, but we were still able to go. The prices were reasonable and the food was very tasty.

Regrettably! Today we walked in the woods with two small children. Planning to end the day here wonderfully. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take a seat inside because they had already been so busy today and therefore only allowed people on the terrace. Unfortunately, with 6 degrees and a baby, not really an option. Very unfriendly, luckily we were very welcome at the ruins a little further away!

After a very special afternoon we had a delicious meal here! The staff knew about the event beforehand and surprised us with bubbles, we enjoyed it so much! The staff is very friendly, spontaneous and enthusiastic: great experience!

Een hele mooie en sfeervol aangeklede zaak. Ik heb buiten gezeten na een heerlijke wandeling op de Veluwe toen de zon nog net door de wolken kwam. De bediening was (deze herfstdag?) niet attent en klantvriendelijk, in elk geval niet voor de buitengasten. We moesten lang wachten en zelf actief de aandacht trekken. Zo jammer, voor zo'n mooie zaak op zo'n mooie plek. De cappuccino en thee waren wel goed, met een lekker koekje erbij.

Wat een gezellige plek om heerlijk te eten! Mooi ingericht. Het eten was zeer goed verzorgd. We hebben de Rendang en de gevulde aubergine geproefd, pareltje op je bord. Als toetje de koffie met lekkernijen en de witte chocolade mousse met yoghurt ijs. En de pina colllade cocktail was om te smullen

Mooie locatie in het Nationale Park De Veluwe Zoom niet ver van de bekende Posbank. Het Twaalfuurtje was met zorg klaar gemaakt en smaakte heerlijk.
