A lovely outdoor terrace in the heart of Dalen, with friendly staff and good coffee and pastries. And smoking is permitted on the terrace, which surprised me. Affordable and right in the village center.

Food was fine. I prefer not to eat bread but if necessary it could be toasted. 2 very thick slices of bread with very little tuna salad on 1 half. 12 euros to be exact. The other half was a bit of butter spread on it with a few leaves of rocket. The young lady who served was someone who was reciting a tune. When asked what white wine they had I was asked what I wanted in a tone that made the ice freeze in this weather. No, in that respect I would hire staff who are friendly and inviting. Where you get the feeling of being welcome.

Because it was very busy, I missed the personal touch that is often present.

BLT is with smoked bacon and not with bacon. And if you make a comment about that when they ask if you liked it, you get a weird discussion and excuses about interns. A croquette sandwich is not a frikandel sandwich either. The customer is definitely not king here. And the food is very expensive for what is delivered.

Ogenschijnlijk een gemoedelijk plekje om lekker te lunchen. Helaas krijg je niet wat je bestelt. BLT met ei en katenspek, maar zonder bacon, wat toch de essentie van de BLT is. Desgevraagd bij het afrekenen gemeld dat ik de bacon toch wel had gemist, waarna de eigenaresse mij ten eerste verweet dat ik het niet had gemeld toen ze mij na het nuttigen van een paar patatjes had gevraagd of alles naar wens was en ten tweede de schuld op de stagiair in de keuken schoof. Dit was dus de eerste en laatste keer. Voortaan gaan we bij de overburen.

Afgelopen weekend gegeten bij de Baander. Ontvangst was hartelijk, tafel en stoelen om prettig om aan en in te zitten. Adviezen over het te kiezen menu prima Gekozen voor menu van de chef, vier gangen. Lekker gegeten en genoten.

Wat een geweldige plek! Last minute waren wij op zoek naar een restaurant met onze kindjes van 2 en 0 jaar. Gelukkig vonden we deze parel. Wat een vriendelijk en leuk personeel. Heel gastvrij, flexibel en zo leuk met onze 2-jarige: ze gingen zelfs voetballen met hem binnen! Wat een pret. Het eten was superlekker en er was genoeg. Kortom, een aanrader! Wij komen zeker terug.

It was wonderful to relax on the terrace with the delicious food from the jobber... We enjoyed it so much.

We zijn met de familie gestopt voor de lunch en hebben heerlijk buiten gezeten in de zon. Het weer was perfect en de bediening erg vriendelijk. Broodje met tonijnsalade genomen, dat erg lekker was. Alles klopte: goed eten, gezellige sfeer en een fijne tussenstop tijdens onze reis. Zeker een aanrader!

What a super nice restaurant this is! Friendly staff, fast and good food! The only reason I gave the food 4 stars is because we found the spare ribs a bit dry, but they tasted good! And of course there is something to be said about that because most restaurants these days keep them very soft, my group was more of a fan of that. My wife really enjoyed the sirloin steak!

We had a fantastic meal here! The service was fast and a delicious curry soup was ready for us in no time. As a main course we had the Baander Grill dish. A little bit of everything, but every piece of meat was super tender and tasty. The side dishes, such as beetroot and baked potatoes, were also excellent. The Dame blanche was well presented, with a jug of hot chocolate. Also suitable for wheelchair users. Everything on the ground floor. Free parking on site. Also outdoor terrace. Tip: make a reservation, because it was quite busy. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back! Toppers!!!

Dozens of insects/ants walked over our table and dining bench, after reporting this nothing was done about it, 4 course menu was also disappointing.

De Baander is such a restaurant, where the chefs love to show you their cooking skills. The meat in particular is prepared very tenderly, while a lot of creativity has been used to come up with new flavor combinations, incorporated into side dishes, sauces and surprising mousses, that really work! We come back here regularly and it is always a surprise to see what delicacies they offer this time, because their menu changes at least every three months. This is a star restaurant with the accessibility of a brasserie. Highly recommended and certainly the best restaurant in Dalen and the surrounding area!

Would you like to enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner? De Baander is a cozy location in beautiful Dalen. Centrally located with ample seating both indoors and outdoors. A beautiful and varied menu that is adjusted every few weeks according to the seasons. After our bike ride we enjoyed a delicious (and hot) cappuccino and tea. Both served with a delicious piece of butter cake.

Very tasty schnitzel and courteous service. Luckily it's open all day, which doesn't happen often in this area. Thanks.

When we are on holiday in Drenthe, we visit Restaurant De Baander at least once to enjoy lunch or dinner. What a nice restaurant! Genuinely nice people, quick service and the food is always of good quality!

An excellent restaurant in itself. Good and tasty food here. Perhaps because I set the bar very high by default, I only give 4 stars, but there are still some critical (improvement) points: - some side dishes seem to come straight from the wholesaler - Waitresses, who are otherwise very friendly, keep the pace high and will come back to your table in no time to ask if they can pour you a new drink. Due to the high pace, including the delivery of dishes, a longer sitting is not really possible. That is exactly something I like. - and perhaps another learning point for the restaurant, Belgian special beers are served in a dry glass!

Top kwaliteit, de saltimbocca met rode pesto saus was goddelijke! Top bediening. Vragen zelfs of ze al met het hoofdgerecht kunnen starten als je bijna klaar bent met het voorgerecht. Kwam ons erg goed uit. Echt super.

Buiten gezeten. Het was er rustig. Snelle en vriendelijke bediening. Stoofpot rundvlees. Was okay (wat vlak en gemiddeld mals). Leuke variatie van aardappel en wat gegrilde groente, bakje gevarieerde salade erbij. Frietjes voor ons te zout. De salade opgesmikkeld, vlees een beetje van gegeten en de rest aan vlees en aardappel meegenomen in bakje. Dat werd door het restaurant keurig verpakt.

Het eten was slecht. We gingen hier eten op nadat we ons ingelezen hadden op TripAdvisor !! Het voorgerecht ging wel maar het hoofdgerecht was slecht varkenshaas was veel te doorbakken, mosselen waren te klein, carpaccio was ronduit slecht ik had de xxl als hoofdgerecht zonde van de centjes. De bediening was redelijk. Al met al geen voldoende

Went with four people on a Tuesday. I noticed they changed the menu. Two years ago there was so much on the menu that you could no longer see the forest for the trees and wondered how they could keep it all fresh. The menu has now been reduced to a limited number of dishes with ingredients from local companies. We opted for the four-course surprise menu. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Only the older lady didn't seem to be into it. She looked sullen and was quite curt. At dessert she mentioned what was on the plate and ended with the words: "Well, that's all I can make of it..." That doesn't seem like a good way to present a dish. Speaking of dessert: the first three courses were fine, but the dessert seemed like a collection of leftovers. Strawberry ice cream, strawberry mousse and dry cake that was not fresh and added nothing. It didn't fit with the other courses that were just okay.

Toch een ander geluid dan al die positieve reviews. Helaas na alle goede recensies hier vanavond gegeten. Wat een teleurstelling. Mijn dochter en ik namen de Tournedos. Erg duur gerecht maar als je een keer uiteten gaat wil je ook genieten. We vroegen medium wel done. Helaas rauwe ossenhaas. Terug gestuurd want dat lusten we niet. Helaas tweede keer nog steeds te rauw. Zoonlief had de gekruide spareribs maar daar zit zo n belachelijk dikke laag kruiden op dat het bijna niet te eten is. Gecombineerd met aangebrande aardappelen, na afloop gerecht pas geleverde frietjes en een gepeperde rekening van 150 euro voor brood plankje, 8 frisjes en 4 hoofdgerechten niet voor herhaling vatbaar helaas.

Still a different sound than all those positive reviews. Unfortunately, after all the good reviews, we ate here tonight. What a disappointment. My daughter and I took the Tournedos. Very expensive dish, but if you go out for dinner you also want to enjoy it. We asked medium well done. Unfortunately raw tenderloin. Sent back because we didn't like it. Unfortunately second time still too raw. My son had the seasoned spareribs, but they had such a ridiculously thick layer of herbs on them that they were almost impossible to eat. Combined with burnt potatoes, recently delivered fries after the dish and a hefty bill of 150 euros for a bread platter, 8 soft drinks and 4 main courses, unfortunately not worth repeating.

Ate in this restaurant 3 times, 1x good and 2x bad, including yesterday. The rib fingers were black, the fried potatoes burnt and dry, the spare ribs too salty. 3x is a charm. I don't come here anymore, which is a shame, because the service is nice, but yes, I come for the food.

We were looking for a place to eat outside of Center Parcs since we had a birthday and wanted something more than the park had to offer. De Baander did not disappoint. All meals were flawless and the service was fantastic. Delicious food, the food was packed with flavours. The layout of the plates was beautiful, a feast for the eyes.

Today we had lunch with 2 people. We both ordered the specialty Baander burger. 1x meat and 1x beet burger. We were all very disappointed... they were helped kindly and the dish, which was served differently and with different ingredients, was tried with friendliness and some fresh ingredients to make us satisfied. Honestly not worth 16 euros per burger...

Fijne, ruime wijnkeuze wat beslist niet gewoon is v.w.b. wijn per glas. En ook nog een prima akoestiek, geen herrie ondanks de drukte.

Vrij goed eten, flotte en vriendelijke bediening. Parkeren was wat lastig door de drukte en het dubbel parkeren van velen....

Fantastische plek in mooi Dalen! Zeer klantvriendelijk, gemoedelijke sfeer, uitstekende keuken. De Thaïse soep was boven verwachting! Houden die kok!! Komen snel weer terug.
