De Batterij is a great place for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. The four of us enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the marina. The welcome and service were friendly and prompt. The meals were delicious and more than ample. The photos show some examples. We highly recommend the various types of fries. The fish was fresh and delicious.

We didn't eat extensively, only had drinks with a group. Drinks menu was OK.

We stayed in the marina for two days and ate one evening meal and one lunch in the restaurant. The location is very convenient for the marina and the terrace has a great view. On both occasions the staff were friendly and were keen to help us as we don’t speak much Dutch. The food was very enjoyable and we would not hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

Attentive service and great dinner. The black August steak was buttery tender and the dessert - mousse au chocolat with pecan ice cream - was surprisingly delicious. I would love to come back!

Had a drink and ate bitterballen. These were good. The one, somewhat timid lady serving tried her hardest, she excelled next to her colleague, who came across as arrogant and didn't even look back after we had paid. Too bad, she seemed like an 'old man' who only worked for known people. I didn't feel welcome.

We ordered 2 cappuccinos and 2 apple pies. Unfortunately the apple pie was still half frozen. The waiter indicated that it still needed to be put in the microwave. After half an hour there was still no "warmed up" apple pie back. Finally paid for the cappuccino and left disappointed.

Party: 40th birthday Celebrated my 40th birthday last Saturday. Because the wedding was canceled due to corona, I wanted to do something bigger. Restaurant de Batterij is the perfect location for this. It started with meeting Patricia. It is a beautiful location on the water and all wishes are discussed. It is truly tailor-made and I think that is what sets the location apart from other locations. During my conversation with Patricia I came up with the idea of ​​the theme: Ibiza style with a mix of culture and especially an Indonesian and German touch, because of my background. The owner Fons Slijpen has created a delicious Indonesian buffet. The 1st round I had pretzels and Berliner buns. The 2nd round of Indonesian meatballs and spring rolls and then some appetizers. In the meantime, there was also a DJ and photographer and the party started. Wesley was our host at the bar that evening. And he did well and worked hard. Robbie was also involved in the organization and put the finishing touches on the project. And Britt and Wesley helped a lot with the decoration. At 00:00 it was my birthday and the prosecco bubbles arrived to toast and everything ended with a bratwurst sandwich or fries. I enjoyed it from start to finish and am grateful to the staff of restaurant De Batterij for making this great evening possible. Simply going out for a meal is always a pleasure. Thank you! On Saturday we celebrated our party in the Battery. It was very pleasant and the service and care was fantastic. The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful location made our party a success. Top restaurant.

This year we were able to take a breather at De Batterij and enjoy a delicious lunch for the annual Curio Cycling Tour. The location is attractive, the service fast and attentive. A tailor-made lunch was put together by the manager and she thought carefully about supplementing the carbohydrates. Wonderful resting place! On behalf of Curio - Thank you!

We sat comfortably on the terrace with a beautiful view over the Hollands Diep. Good and friendly service. The mussels were delicious. Very well prepared. The truffle fries are also recommended. The homemade tuna salad and croquettes with delicious bread were also great! Enjoyed!

I was invited to come here for a bite to eat at the invitation of family. Nice location on the harbour. The restaurant has a fairly large terrace, but we had a table inside. The menu is diverse, so there is something for everyone. Well prepared and neatly served by friendly employees.

Very beautiful place that makes you want to linger there. But what a disappointment. We ordered mussels, a great classic in the region. They had no taste, very bland and a mini portion well below the 1200g received in other restaurants in the area. When we made the remark, our mussels returned to the kitchen and came back to us recooked after adding a large dose of salt and pepper. Inedible.... It can of course happen to forget to season a dish, but returning the same recooked and over-peppered dish is unacceptable... We were obviously not the only ones to complain because the mussels on the table next to us underwent the same treatment. All this charged 27€50.... The most expensive paid of all our restaurants. No commercial gesture, no excuses and no explanations..... Damage. 😢

We hebben hier weer prima geluncht, plezierig op het hoge terras met uitzicht op de jachthaven. Fijne bediening. Ik had vorige keer gehoord dat er op verzoek ook een vegetarische garnalenschotel geserveerd kan worden, buiten de menukaart om. Dat heb ik dus deze keer gekozen: stukjes vega-garnaal met gewokte groenten en saus op vers brood. Dat beviel me uitstekend. Idee om te onthouden.

Oh, oh, what a shame this is.... Yesterday it was a beautiful summer evening and it was still warm for a long time. Where better to dine than on the cozy terrace at restaurant de Batterij? More people thought this way, the terrace outside was not yet full. Upon arrival there was a sign telling us to wait until we were assigned a seat. We first waited politely, but after several drink runners passed us without even looking at us (all young guests, a matter of upbringing) we decided to sit somewhere ourselves. Anyway, it soon became clear to us that even after taking a seat, we were still not seen. After fifteen minutes I asked a kid if we could have two cokes and the menu...not to mention what's next. The dissatisfaction was also clearly visible among the other guests. People weren't looked at, they weren't helped, the menu came way too late, the food came way too late, serious mistakes were made. To make a long story short: it is a beautiful location and ambiance, but there was clearly no manager present to manage things and it was also not possible to make appropriate personnel planning. The girl who took the orders couldn't oversee it at all (hadn't she been working there long?) she did her best, but I felt sorry for her. Guests walked away or became aggressive. Just a shame about such a nice tent. You have gold in your hands. Also with the young employees who are there, but really need guidance and training. I hope you manage to get things on track. In that case we would certainly like to come back.

Vanavond heerlijk gegeten voor onze huwelijksdag. Alles perfect verzorgt bloemenblaadjes op tafel en een bos rode rozen. Bediening was super vriendelijk en deden hun uiterste best. Eten zeer goed. Wij hebben een top avond gehad. Nogmaals heel erg bedankt en zeker tot ziens.

We had a delicious meal tonight for our wedding anniversary. Everything perfectly arranged, flower petals on the table and a bunch of red roses. Service was super friendly and did their best. Food very good. We had a great evening. Thank you very much again and see you soon

Onlangs geluncht bij De Batterij, een heerlijk plekje in de jachthaven van Strijensas. We hadden gereserveerd voor een plekje op het terras en ze hadden een prima plekje geregeld met uitzicht. Eten was prima en drankjes waren ook prima. Helaas kostte het wel wat moeite om de aandacht van de bediening te kirijgen. We moesten het zelfs zonder menukaart stellen en hebben via de website onze lunchgerechten uitgezocht.

Nice restaurant located in the marina, make sure you reserve in good weather. Ordered chicken pieces with a beer, the menu said 6 pieces, but were given 4, said something about it and still got another bowl (4 again haha). Didn't eat anything else but what passed by looked delicious.

The restaurant is not suitable for larger groups, for example on an Ascension tour. The food is reasonable, but they really can't handle larger groups. Then children start whining if there is no food on the table after 2 1/2 hours. The restaurant's response is that it is not the kitchen's fault. Don't find fault with yourself. It is never your fault and then you cannot solve any problems. Management is doing their very best. Not worth repeating for me. In addition, quite expensive. 110 for 2 people for a piece of salmon, nothing special with some simple vegetables and a bowl of fries, which ensures that the fries are cold quickly.

Wij hadden gereserveerd met 40 personen om 19 uur. De organisatie in het restaurant was heel slecht. Het voorgerecht kregen wij rond 20.00 uur, maar daarna hebben wij 2 uur moeten wachten op het hoofdgerecht. Tussendoor was er wel tijd om ons veel drank aan te smeren. Het nagerecht kwam snel omdat de klok inmiddels 23.00 uur aangaf. Helaas was het ijs al aardig gesmolten. Al met al een desillusie. En tot overmaat van ramp werden wij de volgende dag door de havenmeester gebeld dat wij niet meer welkom zijn als vereniging. Het was dus ook nog onze eigen schuld! Bizar!

Had dinner here yesterday with a group of +/- 40 people from another marina and made a reservation weeks ago. We agreed to have a table at 7:00 PM. We were placed in a separate part of the restaurant, which we had to rent. You then had to bring your menu on which you had to indicate what you wanted to eat to the bar yourself and you also had to order the drinks yourself at the bar and take them with you. And that while there were about 4 waiters walking around. We finally got our dessert at around 11:15 PM. At checkout we were also told not to come back. Apparently, as a customer you are not allowed to be critical after waiting 4 hours. Would they have said something like “Sorry, things are going a bit differently for which we apologize”. It might have been a different story, but apparently people consider the above to be the most normal thing in the world. So if you like long tables and want to be snubbed as a critical customer, you should go to the Battery in Strijensas.

We were here with a large group. There was a menu with three starters, main courses and desserts. We wanted to pay separately. This started an incomprehensible organization of taking orders and serving them. Anyway: the food itself was well prepared, but arrived at the table too cold. The staff worked very hard, but had insufficient experience for such a large group. The atmosphere among themselves was fine, but there was still a lot of dissatisfaction about the way things were going. We made a reservation at 7 p.m. and didn't receive the main course until 10:15 p.m. All in all not a pleasant experience for quite a lot of money. My advice is: don't accept large groups anymore. And if you receive complaints because things are not going well, offer a compensation arrangement.

Booked with a larger group, 3 course menu. Had to wait very long for the drinks. Had to wait even longer for starter and main course. Had to give the menu to the bar myself, staff did not come to take the menu. Had to ask several times if the children's menu could be available. Made a reservation at 7pm and had 3 courses at 11pm. Didn't eat the dessert myself because I had to put the children to bed. Immediately after the main course, it was announced that 1 dessert would not be consumed, but in the end we had to pay for the complete menu. During dinner with ?owner? started talking about the long wait. ?Owner? wasn't very impressed. All in all a very bad experience and for us as a group of approximately 50 people it is definitely a no go to come again. Fortunately the ?owner? also agree with us.. Oh yes, the starter (salmon carpaccio) and main course (steak strips) were just good, but very expensive at €39.50 for, in my case, a 2-course menu, instead of 3 courses.

Cibo pessimo. Abbiamo preso Fish and Chips. Il pesce fritto era un pezzo unico assolutamente insipido ed insapore. Abbiamo anche tentato con gli spare ribs, ma anche qui siamo stati delusi da una salsa estremamente dolce che ha completamente sopraffatto il sapore della carne.

Cozy outdoor terrace (if the weather is nice, of course) with a wonderful view. Very friendly service and good menu. Neat clean toilets. There are steep stairs to reach the terrace, but there is also a stair lift. We are looking forward to eating here in the evening.

Very successful Valentine's dinner! Super organized and fantastic food. It was nice how the staff handled the visit enthusiastically that evening. Was our 2nd time and again we were not disappointed!

Sfeervol restaurant met een leuke menukaart.

Duurde al erg lang voor we een menukaart kregen en de gebakken tong was zo droog als gort. 2 weken terug ook een zeer trage bediening en het broodje carpaccio met WALNOTEN op ongeroosterd brood was niet zo lekker als we gewend waren. Andere kok?

Fantastisch locatie en heel vriendelijk bediening

Ik ben hier 2x geweest, keer 1 had ik de schnitzel besteld maar daar was denk ik de zout voorraad overheen gevallen, toen ik dat vermelden werd mij na heel lang nadenken een hamburger aangeboden. keer 2 dacht ik een lekker sorbet van roodfruit te bestellen zoals deze op de kaart stond, maar niks was minder waar 2 bolletjes ijs een een toefje slagroom was alles wat ik kreeg, toen ik dat melde werd er later een bakje met zure aardbeien en stukjes appel op tafel gepleurd met de mededeling hier is deel 2 dat je dit als kok op tafel durft te zetten, misschien ff een nascholing desserts maken volgen.

Tegen de jachthaven van Strijen -Sas ligt het restaurant De Batterij. Een gezellige plek waar je van de lunch tot en met het diner terecht kunt. Wij hebben er gedineerd. Er is een heldere menukaart waar geen echte verassingen op staan. De dag specialiteit wordt verteld door de medewerker die er een dusdanig smeuïg verhaal van maakt dat het de kaart bijna doet vergeten: heel goed! Onze twee pubers kozen als voorgerecht een portie bitterballen. Strikt genomen kon dat niet meer, maar omdat het gezellig vol maar niet topdrukte was, kon de medewerker wel eat regelen. De rest koos soep en carpaccio. Dat was allemaal prima in orde. Tonijn toevoegen aan een currysoep bleek een verrassend lekkere combinatie. De hoofdgerechten kwamen na een zeer acceptabele wachttijd. Mooie porties en geen opsmuk op de borden: ik houd ervan. Er was een dag special besteld: een souvlaki spies met Griekse groenten en sausjes, twee maal een Wiener schnitzel xl (en dat was het ook) en een pizza die rijkelijk belegd was met kip, ui en paprika. Zelf had ik de schnitzel in combinatie met de toevoeging Batterij mix: gebakken champignons, ui, spek en zongedroogde tomaten. Erg lekker al zou de schnitzel m..i. iets korter gefrituurd mogen. De porties waren royaal want ondanks dat wij flinke eters zijn gingen niet alle borden schoon leeg. Het dessert heb ik aan mij voorbij laten gaan: ik zat vol, maar de rest dacht nog ruimte te hebben. Opnieuw goed gevulde borden met brownie en ijs, en opnieuw de medewerking om net even buiten de kaart om een kleine aanpassing te doen: ik geloof niet dat ze in De Batterij het woord 'nee' of ' lukt niet ' kennen. De Batterij is een gezellig brasserie stijl restaurant wat ingericht is voor de passerende jachteigenaars uit de jachthaven en de lokale bevolking vanuit de omgeving. Het is het omrijden zeker waard met een speciale vermelding voor het fantastische uitzicht. Wij komen graag nog eens terug. Wat zou het 5 sterren maken? Ik zou zeggen een kwart ster voor de bediening: twee keer een drankje vergeten. Een kwart ster voor de sfeer en dan met name de muziek op de achtergrond. Heel erg subjectief, ik weet het en ik ben een oude zak botten, maar er is meer sfeer te halen uit de muziek. De laatste halve ster is de lastigste: ik wil graag culinair verrast worden. Dat hoeft echt niet met zwezerik, schuim of bereidingen in vloeibare stikstof, maar maak het bord op met meer groenten, en doe daar iets mee; durf outside the box te denken. De porties vlees kunnen dan kleiner, het eten wordt gevarieerder en uitdagender en op de koop toe gezonder en beter te verteren. De potentie is er: de batterij mix en de plakjes tonijn in de curry soep bewijzen dat.

Vandaag 8 augustus 2023 voor het eerst geluncht met 4 personen Gebruik kunnen maken van de stelling ideaal supervriendelijkebediening en heerlijk gegeten. Zeer leuke locatie voor herhaling vatbaar

Heerlijk gegeten, de uitsmijters zijn super, lieve bediening, er is ook een traplift voor onze zwager. De sfeer is super relax, dikke 10 voor dit restaurant.

Keuken maakt er wat moois van, wel karig met verse groenten helaas. Binnenkomst kan gastvrijer, direct vragen naar reservering terwijl veel tafels leeg zijn en ook niet gereserveerd hebbende doen ze moeilijk om plekje te verzinnen voor je. Standaard de meest onaantrekkelijke plaatsen wordt dan aangeboden, bij vragen betere plek blijken die "gereserveerd" te zijn wat niet waar is blijkt na afloop diner. Kan echt wel beter.

Goed gegeten, leuke en mooie locatie, goede service

Zeer lekkere cocktails en pizza's met een mooi uitzicht over de haven en vriendelijke bediening. Ook het interieur geeft een toffe sfeer. Zeker de moeite om lang te gaan.

Vanavond met een vriendin wezen eten maar er waren wel dingen waar we niet zo vrolijk van werden . Naast ons in het raamkozijn lag het vol dode vliegjes ( erg onsmakelijk) de soep was lauw …de champignonsaus vergeten…( die was ook lauw) de snitszel geserveerd op een plank met papier eronder waar je steeds met je mes in sneed ook niets geen groente erbij. De bediening maakte veel goed was heel vriendelijk ..

Heerlijk rustig plekje. Tenminste, dat was het vanmorgen om 11.30! Alles ziet er keurig uit. Vriendelijke bediening. Heerlijk genoten van een verrukkelijke vissoep. Aanrader.

Ik heb hier massas goed gegeten, de pizza pollo is geweldig!!!! Ik ben hier massa zat geraakt. Nu nog maar hopen dat mijn rekening dit aankan ;)

Leuke locatie aan de jachthaven en heerlijk terras

Leuk restaurant in de Hoeksche Waard we we waren ivm een teamuitje. Of ik er privé zou komen durf ik niet direct te zeggen daar we met een rolstoel (mindervalide zoon) geloof ik niet binnen kunnen komen door de steile trap. Er is wel een traplift aanwezig overigens maar niet voor rolstoelen voor zover ik kan zien. Desondanks was het eten goed te doen en zag het er bij collega's ook prima uit.

Vlotte vriendelijke bediening alleen de uitsmijter was een beetje klein maar de smaak was prima maar liep met nog een hongerige maag naar buiten.

Mooi plekje met een gezellig terras. Vriendelijke bediening. We waren met een groep en dan kiest het restaurant ervoor dat je binnen moet zitten (er was ruim op tijd gererveerd) Best jammer, je mist dan de leuke sfeer van de haven en bij 30 graden is het achter glas, dat niet open kan, zonder airco of ventilator eigenlijk niet te doen. Het eten is prima. Maar de porties zijn erg klein. Ik heb nog nooit zo'n klein biefstukje gekregen in een restaurant, en de prijs was niet perse klein. Er zat ook een heel klein bakje salade bij (formaat bakje voor je theezakje).

We waren met een grote groep eten. Het duurde ontzettend lang voor we het eten kregen. Sommige dingen waren nog bevroren, andere niet warm genoeg.
