There was a nice climbing frame for children, which was very nice. The only downside was sometimes a long wait to order a drink. Otherwise, it was fine with children.

Cozy, good atmosphere and tasty food at a reasonable price

Had a great dinner at De Beren by the A4 Delft, the staff were friendly and spoke English and we were able to make a reservation pretty quickly for the same day. The restaurant has plenty of car parking in front of it, so you can always find a space even on busier times. Drinks; they have plenty of alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic versions, their non alcoholic cocktails are however pre-mixed and tasted mediocre, only their blueberry mojito tasted good as it was not a pre mix, their virgin mojito had no taste, and their pornstar non-alcoholic tasted like cough syrup. Mains; the main food was amazing, I highly recommend the calamari's as they were super tasty with the dipping sauce. T Their chicken crush burger was juicy and tasted pretty nice, it comes with a side of sweet potato fries and or normal french fries and they were crispy and delicious, it also came with coleslaw but it was a little bland, mixing some of the mayo sauce of the fries into it, makes it perfect. The spicy crispy chicken was actually spicy! It is mixed in with vegetables and was creamy and tasty! It also comes with a side of sweet potato fries or french fries with mayo. Desert; their desert was pretty nice, and it is worth it in my opinion, the apple crumble is sweet but not too sweet and has an amazing smell, and the banana royale has a nice caramel sauce and comes with 2 scoops of ice cream. Atmosphere; the place was moderate busy, and they had a lot of tables, I sat down next to a plant and my allergies started acting up and the staff were friendly that they switched my table and even offered to move the plants away if it caused more issues! Highly recommend this place if you are on the A4 and looking for a lunch/dinner place!

We had a lovely meal at a table next to the bar because we had reserved so last minute. The waitress apologized because it was the only option, but we found that unnecessary. We had a delicious and enjoyable meal.

High tea offer at Kruidvat. Definitely worth it. It is a lot, so ask for a doggy bag if you can't finish everything. The teapot could be refilled with hot water a bit more often, and the cutlery was not completely clean.

This is a nice location with ample parking. The food and service were good and a pluspoint is that it also has a small indoor playground for the kids. Would definitely advise for a nice meal.

Food wasnt amazing BUT the service was amazing. I miss the old barman that worked there. While the other people that work there are also very nice!

My family and I used to think it was so cozy here until that nice barman left, so now we don't come anymore.

Unfortunately, the food was not delivered completely. The meat came without sauce, and the fries were brought too late, so the meat had cooled down. And the last guest only received her pancake when the rest were almost finished eating. Not polite.

Last weekend I was very disappointed with De Beren. I had specifically reserved the Easter menu, but it wasn't available. We had to wait a very long time; we were there for almost two hours just for a sandwich. And the atmosphere outside was mostly a lot of mess and an unkempt garden. The worst part was that the two people I brought with me became very ill. Naturally, I reported this, and head office responded very quickly. The restaurant itself only responded after three days by calling me during working hours, but I couldn't answer. My boyfriend had also filed a complaint and demanded a refund. We received it, but with the statement that it was unacceptable that we could choose an Easter menu (I sent proof) and that they didn't want to discuss it. In other words, they didn't agree with our complaints. It's nice that I have that money back, but I am still really very offended. And no, Den Hoorn, I don't want any more messages from you now.

Today we had an unpleasant experience at De Beren in Den Hoorn. We ordered "patat speciaal" with peanuts. The waitstaff confirmed this as "patat met speciaal" and peanuts? And we nodded in agreement. To us, "patat speciaal" means: fries with mayonnaise, curry or ketchup, and chopped onions, optionally with peanut sauce. However, when the food arrived, we were given a plate with fries, cassava, onions, and chicken pieces. We had not ordered this at all. Because I have allergies, I asked the waitress exactly what was in it. She mentioned everything except the chicken pieces. I then walked over to the waitstaff myself to confirm this, and she indicated that it was chicken pieces. Due to my religious beliefs, I have to be very careful about what I eat. Because of that, I shouldn't have eaten this (no meat). Unfortunately, there was little understanding, and we were told that according to their menu, this was supposed to be "patat speciaal." We were unable to view the menu because the QR code didn't work, and we ordered directly through the waitstaff. That is why we were clear when we said we wanted fries with peanuts. What is particularly unfortunate is that there were no apologies for the fact that I ate something I didn't want to eat. What makes it even more annoying is that we ultimately had to pay for something we didn't eat. This wasn't our first time at De Beren, but unfortunately, after this experience, we won't be coming back.

Super friendly staff, delicious food! The loaded sweet potato fries are highly recommended. And the churros for dessert are highly recommended, as are the delicious cocktails.

Very bad experiences today. Went for an Easter brunch but it wasn't available, so chose to stay and ate a farmer's omelet. My father-in-law and I both got quite nauseous. We got home shortly after the visit. My girlfriend was disappointed with her sandwich, but luckily she didn't get sick! I have been satisfied in the past, but certainly not now (photos are from another time). Still positive though.

Very disappointing experience at De Beren. The food was served cold and was of poor quality. The shrimp were literally cold and had an unpleasant taste, making them inedible. Additionally, I had ordered medium steak tips, but they were served fully cooked. The meat was tough and, moreover, was covered in an abundance of sauce, which did not improve the taste. In the end, only the fries were somewhat edible. Other dishes were also disappointing; for instance, bacon was eaten after which symptoms arose, including vomiting and diarrhea. All in all, a very negative experience. We will not be returning here.

If you want tasty, quick, and easy food, then you definitely have to go to De Beren in Den Hoorn. Highly recommended.

Easily accessible for people with mobility issues. Tasty food and always friendly service. It doesn't matter which De Beren you go to; wherever I've been so far, the food is good and the service is nice and helpful. It's a shame that the restaurant next door at this location has also recently opened. Parking was very difficult, but De Beren can't do anything about that.

The starter and dessert were delicious, but the pork tenderloin... it wasn't medium, but well-done, and therefore very dry. Such a shame... I actually didn't want to eat it...yuck, but my much older companion thought we should just eat it...

We came here on a Thursday evening, and it was very busy! We received excellent service from a friendly gentleman upstairs. A pleasant, familiar menu with plenty of options. The tenderloin steaks are definitely recommended! Sweet wine is also good here. (;

Unfortunately, we couldn't have lunch because we had two pugs, and they weren't allowed inside. So if you're looking for a pet-friendly restaurant, this isn't the place for you. Such a shame!

Due to my gluten intolerance, it's often difficult to find a good restaurant. De Beren in Den Hoorn never disappoints. Yesterday, January 30, 2026, I had another delicious meal.

De Beren Den Hoorn is a pleasant and cozy restaurant. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive, and they don't let you go after you've finished your meal. Highly recommended.

Good service, nice decor and delicious food

I unexpectedly dropped in for dinner tonight, alone, after a busy day at work and seeing a long traffic jam on the highway on my way home. Despite the staff's preference due to limited seating, I was given free choice of where to sit after I requested a quiet spot. The staff was exceptionally friendly, quick but not too quick. They kept a close eye on everything and treated me personally and hospitably. The food was delicious, and they also had good wine. I had a wonderful evening with you, you guys! See you next time.

Surprisingly delicious food! The place was packed, but we were able to get a table at the bar. The satay and spare ribs were delicious. The staff was very friendly.

Simply delicious, good and too much

I had a starter, but the carpaccio was unfortunately frozen in the middle. I reported it, and it was removed from the bill, which was very kind. My main course was the skewers, which were really not tasty and cold. I thought they came out of plastic and had been reheated in a microwave. My husband had the pork tenderloin, which wasn't very tasty either; it was dry and not very warm. All in all, I wouldn't go back.

We went on December 28th, very quiet. I ordered chicken satay for a normal price, but the quality was unfortunately lacking. The company across from me was very nice, which made up for everything.

On Boxing Day, we had a Christmas dinner. The taste wasn't special, the quantity was two-thirds of a normal dinner, and the price was 1.5 times the normal price. We were freezing, and some guests were wearing their coats. We got up early the next morning to deposit the meal into the toilet bowl through every bodily orifice. Fortunately, I only suffered from it for two days. I reported all of this, and the owner asked for the phone number to get in touch. He still hasn't done so, so this is the last time we'll be back.

We've eaten here several times and it's always been excellent, but tonight it wasn't quite right. We had to wait a very long time to order. We finally had to ask for it ourselves. Unfortunately, the starters were cold, and we pointed this out, but they couldn't help but say, "It's a shame." The main course was fine, but we had to wait a long time for dessert, so we asked again. We received one dessert that wasn't correct, and after another wait, the correct one arrived. It's always perfectly fine, but this time it wasn't!

It was actually all fine; the food wasn't overwhelming, but it was good. Service upstairs was less present later in the meal, but it was good and helpful. The atmosphere was pleasant.

The €29.50 Albert Heijn deal. If this is how to attract customers, they've missed the point. Both the starter, carpaccio, and the main course, the chicken satay, were completely flavorless. The rock-hard bits of bacon on the carpaccio were so overpowering that you couldn't even taste the meat. The Beren Delft on the Beestenmarkt is already nothing special, but this one really needs to be added to the list. A missed opportunity, I think!! December 5, 2025: New opportunity with Social Deal. The soup was lukewarm, but the rest was definitely good. Excellent menu and a wide selection. The hot chicken sandwich was excellent, the fried egg carpaccio was excellent!

We dined on November 5, 2024. De Beren Maassluis is closed, so off we went to De Beren in den Hoorn. What a lovely restaurant this is, and what friendly staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted very attentively by name (which wasn't on my forehead anyway), but this must have been due to our reservation. We had the three-course dinner through Kruidvat. After the drinks were quickly ordered, we chose carpatio and goat cheese croquettes from the menu as a starter. For the main course, we had pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce and chicken satay. One of us had sweet potato fries, the other French fries, and a small salad. The sauce, sweet potato, and salad were charged separately for a total of €6.00. The food was perfect and delicious. The service was excellent. It's worth 5 stars in itself. In short, we had a very pleasant evening. We'll be back soon. Update December 4, 2025. We had another fantastic meal here. Kudos to all the staff. Professional, skilled, and friendly.

A bit small, 1 container of fries with 2 satay dishes, a shame, I wanted to say something but my husband said never mind.

I spontaneously went here for dinner with my partner after a long journey home. However, we both got food poisoning. We also had to wait a long time for our food, even though there weren't many guests, so that was unusual.

Cozy restaurant with a play area for kids upstairs. Perhaps something to do about the wooden S-shaped staircase. Some children walk up like elephants. It's annoying if you're sitting right underneath them.

Gluten-free dining went wrong. I emailed in August with a few questions, hoping the kitchen would address the issue. So far, no response. A shame, since the atmosphere, staff, and food are generally good.

Den Hoorn is a good restaurant with very friendly staff. And the food (spare ribs) was delicious. In short, a top location.

The spare ribs were truly awful. They were clearly reheated and then covered in a thin layer of sauce. Finally, they sprinkled some paprika on top, which didn't improve the overall experience. The fries tasted like they'd been fried a second time. All in all, absolutely not worth the price.
