Enjoyed a delicious satay and very pleasant service!

It was good, I had forgotten socks but The staff came to ask themselves if we already had socks, and we do now, so very thoughtful

The high tea could have had a little less sweetness; a few more savory items would be very nice.

Because our experiences at other Beren restaurants were good, we wanted to have something to eat but a drink on the terrace, which didn't look very clean, so we left it at just a drink. The waitress walked past several times with empty hands without even bothering to remove the litter from the terrace and/or the entrance.

The food was tasty. The only thing we felt was that there could be more savory options at the high tea. In our opinion, there was too much sweetness.

Upon entering a nearly empty room (Saturday afternoon!), just find a seat. Fine, we sit down, oh not there, that is reserved for 12:15 (it was already past 12:15, but anyway) all the seats by the window “reserved” for 12:15 Half the rest of the room was cordoned off with red tape. 2x coffee and 2x toasted sandwiches that were extremely small without anything else, just paying €22, now I think that's fine, but for toasted sandwiches of normal size with some salad or something on the side, not 2 measly slices of bread (unfortunately didn't take a photo of that) When we left again around 1:00 PM, the reserved spots were still empty.

Friendly and fast service, good quality food, and a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

The staff at De Beren Doetinchem are an example for many other hospitality staff. So friendly and pleasant. It was already late and the cleaning had started. Because of this, the caramel frappe could not be made in the standard way. So it was made old school, which made it all the tastier! They deserve 5 stars for the personal attention.

Very disappointing experience at De Beren Doetinchem. We had chosen the dinner & movie package, but were told that the cinema voucher was “sold out today”. Strangely enough, we saw that the voucher was offered to other customers before us. Additionally, the employee at the counter was very unfriendly and arrogant, and we were barely looked at. A shame, because customer service should not be like that.

The food here is always good. I ate here with a friend on Monday and enjoyed the pork tenderloin satay. The only downside was that the main course took 40 minutes, even though it was fairly quiet. The drinks and dessert, on the other hand, arrived on time. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is modern yet warm.

We had high tea in the afternoon. Inside, the atmosphere was cozy; it felt like another world. They regularly walked by to refill the tea. The portion size was very good; we didn't eat anything else in the evening. The tomato soup was delicious, nice and fresh.

We ate via Social Deal. However, it was very disappointing. We had to wait a long time between courses while the regular guests received their food on time. We weren't born yesterday and quickly realized that this was done so that we would order more drinks. They kept coming to ask for drinks, even though everyone else still had their glasses full. We stopped here while returning home after a mini vacation. We have loved the place, the food in huge quantity and so well presented and the super kind stuff. Absolutely great place and food and ambiance.

Eaten there for the first time today, but it didn't go well. Despite it being very quiet, I didn't see anyone at the table for the first half hour. The table and chairs were dirty and the floor was covered in breadcrumbs. This was a real letdown. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

It's always a bit of a shame when you get something different from what's stated in the menu description. Their desserts are really top-notch, but there's a reason there's a description of what you're ordering. But all in all, we always eat there well and it's affordable.

Very poor and slow service; you are no longer asked if you want to order more, and after ordering, you have to wait 20 minutes for 1 Radler.

Had a delicious meal in a beautiful restaurant

We ordered starters and main courses for 9 people with everything included, after waiting for a long time and finally requesting the menu. Fries and potatoes were included, so we ordered sweet potato fries separately. However, after waiting for a while, only sweet potato fries were found on the table. We are still waiting for the fries and potatoes after asking twice... We didn't receive them, but they were supposed to be removed from the bill; isn't that odd for a free addition? In the end, we left without dessert because it didn't really seem like they wanted to make any more money.

Due to the warm day, there weren't many other customers; that is not your fault. Otherwise, everything is fine.

We just ate at De Beren in Doetinchem. We chose the unlimited spare ribs; however, we hadn't thought about the fact that it was a public holiday. When ordering, no mention was made that the special offer for unlimited spare ribs doesn't apply on holidays. So we paid 25 euros per rib, plus half a portion of fries to share and a very small amount of salad. This was perhaps worth 10 euros. When we asked if that was all, the waiter said it was because it was a public holiday. Yes, we didn't know that at the beginning; he could have told us that at the start too, but he didn't. Then we said that this was very little for 25 euros. The waiter didn't say anything about that. The spare ribs were very small, by the way.

We had a High Tea at De Beren in Doetinchem. It looked well-presented, tasted delicious, and there was a wide selection. In short, we enjoyed it! Definitely recommended.

I have truly never been treated so ridiculously badly in a restaurant. We sat at De Beren for over two hours and in the end simply received no food. And when we asked where it was, we were blithely told that we could wait at least another half hour if we even still wanted it. No solution, no compensation, absolutely nothing. Just a weak “sorry”. It is truly despicable how customers are treated here. We left our glasses and walked out. This was the last time at De Beren. Absolutely not recommended.

We had a four-course Social Deal. The choices are understandably limited. The portions are quite large. As far as we are concerned, they could have been a bit smaller. But the food was fine.

The restaurant caters to a wide range of audiences, so you might encounter large families with children who want to run around and, more importantly, demand attention by crying. That's why I find it a bit less atmospheric, and this is a personal matter.

The food was excellent. We made reservations in advance due to an early game for the kids on Saturday, but we still had to wait a very long time. We had a three-course dinner, but the starter took a long time to arrive, and the main course then took over an hour. Dessert, after we'd finished the main course, took another half hour. As a result, everything took over three hours, and we were actually home far too late for the kids.

Delicious and well-prepared food. The atmosphere was a bit unusual among the people in costume, but it was quickly resolved. Friendly, efficient service and good value for money. The main course took a very long time to arrive. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Cozy decor, very friendly staff, and incredibly delicious food. They also really consider portion sizes; we got three portions of fries for four people, and it was perfectly sized (though you could always get a fourth portion if it wasn't enough). We thoroughly enjoyed it!

If you attend a performance at the Amphion Theatre and pay before 7:30 PM, you'll receive a 10% discount on your ticket, as well as a voucher for coffee beforehand at the theatre. Plus, a voucher for a free movie ticket. It's a shame the discount only applied to drinks, not food. 🤔. I only discovered this later.

I was asked how I wanted the pork tenderloin cooked. I specified medium, but when it arrived, it was cooked all the way through. She said that was how it should be. I said I just wanted medium. It arrived and was delicious. It came with a delicious mushroom truffle sauce. Carpaccio was also delicious. Fries fried in old grease.

A cozy and atmospheric restaurant in the heart of Doetinchem with friendly service and delicious food! I went here last weekend with a friend and we both chose the Berenburger. It was delicious; everything was nice and fresh and hot. We were seated near the open kitchen, and everything looks very well-maintained there. We went there on Saturday without a reservation, and despite it being busy, we were able to get in right away. The service was super friendly, and the wait for our food wasn't too bad. I've been here many times before, and it's always good. Highly recommended!

Delicious food and usually fast and friendly service. It's a place we definitely frequent with the kids because of the play area, yet the menu still offers plenty of tasty options. We also often enjoy a nice lunch with a friend, with or without children, at De Beren.

We ate at Christmas... the food was pretty standard, like the regular menu, only with fewer choices. Upon entering, it was a mess at the entrance, with lots of people piled up, complete groups coming in... it was cold outside, so the door constantly being open wasn't very pleasant. The staff were walking around in baggy pants and un-ironed sweaters... no "Christmas atmosphere" at all, which was a shame. Immediately at the table, they asked us what time the bill would arrive and what time we had to leave for the next "round." Of course, we understand that, but it's partly the way it's presented. Most dishes were pre-prepared and arrived quickly... There wasn't much choice for dessert. The food was adequate! The atmosphere and experience could have been better. A bare Christmas tree 🌲 and baggy pants (shirts that were too short, showing bare backs) are not my Christmas experience... a shame, we'd rather come back without a holiday.

We went on Christmas Day with the children and grandchildren. The food was delicious and there was a good selection on the menu. It was also a hit with my daughter, who is a vegetarian. The grandchildren also had a great time and loved the play area. They even got a fun coloring page on the table to keep them entertained. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for the main course because the kitchen couldn't handle it. They apologized for that. Nevertheless, it was a successful Christmas dinner and definitely worth repeating!

Let me start with what was good: the food was delicious. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 7:00 PM reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait outside because otherwise it would "get too crowded inside," even though it was -2 degrees Celsius outside and the temperature felt like -10 degrees Celsius, and we weren't exactly the youngest guests anymore. What made this even more galling: after about 10 minutes, everyone was finally let in—even guests with a 7:00 PM reservation, like us. After the appetizer, we then had a long wait for the main course. I don't normally write bad reviews. If it had only been about the long wait, I wouldn't have done so. But making people wait in this cold is truly poor service. It's a shame, because the chefs clearly did their best.
