It's always a bit of a shame when you get something different from what's stated in the menu description. Their desserts are really top-notch, but there's a reason there's a description of what you're ordering. But all in all, we always eat there well and it's affordable.

Very poor and slow service; you are no longer asked if you want to order more, and after ordering, you have to wait 20 minutes for 1 Radler.

We ordered starters and main courses for 9 people with everything included, after waiting for a long time and finally requesting the menu. Fries and potatoes were included, so we ordered sweet potato fries separately. However, after waiting for a while, only sweet potato fries were found on the table. We are still waiting for the fries and potatoes after asking twice... We didn't receive them, but they were supposed to be removed from the bill; isn't that odd for a free addition? In the end, we left without dessert because it didn't really seem like they wanted to make any more money.

Due to the warm day, there weren't many other customers; that is not your fault. Otherwise, everything is fine.

We just ate at De Beren in Doetinchem. We chose the unlimited spare ribs; however, we hadn't thought about the fact that it was a public holiday. When ordering, no mention was made that the special offer for unlimited spare ribs doesn't apply on holidays. So we paid 25 euros per rib, plus half a portion of fries to share and a very small amount of salad. This was perhaps worth 10 euros. When we asked if that was all, the waiter said it was because it was a public holiday. Yes, we didn't know that at the beginning; he could have told us that at the start too, but he didn't. Then we said that this was very little for 25 euros. The waiter didn't say anything about that. The spare ribs were very small, by the way.

Food not special, long wait for both food and drinks. Waited 90 minutes for a hard schnitzel with a watery sauce, a shame.

We had a High Tea at De Beren in Doetinchem. It looked well-presented, tasted delicious, and there was a wide selection. In short, we enjoyed it! Definitely recommended.

I have truly never been treated so ridiculously badly in a restaurant. We sat at De Beren for over two hours and in the end simply received no food. And when we asked where it was, we were blithely told that we could wait at least another half hour if we even still wanted it. No solution, no compensation, absolutely nothing. Just a weak “sorry”. It is truly despicable how customers are treated here. We left our glasses and walked out. This was the last time at De Beren. Absolutely not recommended.

We had a four-course Social Deal. The choices are understandably limited. The portions are quite large. As far as we are concerned, they could have been a bit smaller. But the food was fine.

The restaurant caters to a wide range of audiences, so you might encounter large families with children who want to run around and, more importantly, demand attention by crying. That's why I find it a bit less atmospheric, and this is a personal matter.

The food was excellent. We made reservations in advance due to an early game for the kids on Saturday, but we still had to wait a very long time. We had a three-course dinner, but the starter took a long time to arrive, and the main course then took over an hour. Dessert, after we'd finished the main course, took another half hour. As a result, everything took over three hours, and we were actually home far too late for the kids.

We had a delicious meal, the seating was nice and warm and cozy. And the service was friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Delicious and well-prepared food. The atmosphere was a bit unusual among the people in costume, but it was quickly resolved. Friendly, efficient service and good value for money. The main course took a very long time to arrive. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Cozy decor, very friendly staff, and incredibly delicious food. They also really consider portion sizes; we got three portions of fries for four people, and it was perfectly sized (though you could always get a fourth portion if it wasn't enough). We thoroughly enjoyed it!

If you attend a performance at the Amphion Theatre and pay before 7:30 PM, you'll receive a 10% discount on your ticket, as well as a voucher for coffee beforehand at the theatre. I was asked how I wanted the pork tenderloin cooked. I specified medium, but when it arrived, it was cooked all the way through. She said that was how it should be. I said I just wanted medium. It arrived and was delicious. It came with a delicious mushroom truffle sauce. Carpaccio was also delicious. Fries fried in old grease.

The food was delicious, but we waited half an hour to an hour for each dish. I was very hungry and angry. We ended up full, but dinner ended at 9:00 PM, even though our reservations were for 6:30 PM.

A cozy and atmospheric restaurant in the heart of Doetinchem with friendly service and delicious food! I went here last weekend with a friend and we both chose the Berenburger. It was delicious; everything was nice and fresh and hot. We were seated near the open kitchen, and everything looks very well-maintained there. We went there on Saturday without a reservation, and despite it being busy, we were able to get in right away. The service was super friendly, and the wait for our food wasn't too bad. I've been here many times before, and it's always good. Highly recommended!

Delicious food and usually fast and friendly service. It's a place we definitely frequent with the kids because of the play area, yet the menu still offers plenty of tasty options. We also often enjoy a nice lunch with a friend, with or without children, at De Beren.

We ate at Christmas... the food was pretty standard, like the regular menu, only with fewer choices. Upon entering, it was a mess at the entrance, with lots of people piled up, complete groups coming in... it was cold outside, so the door constantly being open wasn't very pleasant. The staff were walking around in baggy pants and un-ironed sweaters... no "Christmas atmosphere" at all, which was a shame. Immediately at the table, they asked us what time the bill would arrive and what time we had to leave for the next "round." Of course, we understand that, but it's partly the way it's presented. Most dishes were pre-prepared and arrived quickly... There wasn't much choice for dessert. The food was adequate! The atmosphere and experience could have been better. A bare Christmas tree 🌲 and baggy pants (shirts that were too short, showing bare backs) are not my Christmas experience... a shame, we'd rather come back without a holiday.

We went on Christmas Day with the children and grandchildren. The food was delicious and there was a good selection on the menu. It was also a hit with my daughter, who is a vegetarian. The grandchildren also had a great time and loved the play area. They even got a fun coloring page on the table to keep them entertained. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for the main course because the kitchen couldn't handle it. They apologized for that. Nevertheless, it was a successful Christmas dinner and definitely worth repeating!

Let me start with what was good: the food was delicious. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 7:00 PM reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait outside because otherwise it would "get too crowded inside," even though it was -2 degrees Celsius outside and the temperature felt like -10 degrees Celsius, and we weren't exactly the youngest guests anymore. What made this even more galling: after about 10 minutes, everyone was finally let in—even guests with a 7:00 PM reservation, like us. After the appetizer, we then had a long wait for the main course. I don't normally write bad reviews. If it had only been about the long wait, I wouldn't have done so. But making people wait in this cold is truly poor service. It's a shame, because the chefs clearly did their best.

We enjoyed the delicious three-course meal, and it was great that it's a child-friendly restaurant. Our daughter had plenty of fun playing between meals and also enjoyed the children's menu.

Ate there on November 21st, a table for 3 people. The social deal wasn't social. I paid €77 and could have paid an additional €44.50 for potatoes, salad, and a drink. The salad wasn't anything special either, and the staff was only busy picking up and dropping off. I'll never do a social deal again, but I do eat out in Germany.

Food, service, atmosphere, everything was absolutely top notch.

First time at this location. We were served quickly, but the first two courses came very quickly one after the other. I asked if the chicken satay was made with chicken breast or chicken thigh. They said chicken breast after the waiter inquired, but I doubt that was actually the case. What I found annoying was that I was joking around in the kitchen about chicken breast or chicken thigh. (We were sitting close to the kitchen.) We also saw that gloves were not being worn during certain tasks. One woman practically scooped up the fries with her long nails, which we found quite unappetizing. The decor is fantastic!

We had a great meal, but it's a shame that at 9pm you get the feeling you have to leave the place because they're just going to start cleaning and vacuuming.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy, thanks in part to the Christmas decorations, and the staff were proactive and professional. All in all, it was a pleasant visit, and I would definitely dine there again in the future.

We had a great evening thanks to the Kruidvat deal. Especially for the price we paid: a three-course dinner for €15 per person. The food is simple but good, and the seating is very comfortable. Unfortunately, the service took a bit longer, but we didn't mind.

We'd never eaten there before, but we made a reservation after visiting Amphion with the Kruitvat offer. After the appetizer, the wait for the main course was long, but we had plenty of time. The food was delicious and we'll definitely be back.

Had a delicious lunch with a voucher from AH. Lots of variety on the menu, from which you could choose. The farmer's eggs and carpaccio were delicious. Friendly staff. Everything was clean and tidy despite the crowds.

I was in a hurry and ordered a sandwich (uitsmijter). Oh, what a disaster. The sandwich I ordered was the cheapest and cost €10. Just two slices of bread without butter and three eggs. Nothing more. That was it. Only one euro worth of "ingredients" and then paying €10 for it. What a disgrace...

Right on a town square near a church, great outdoor seating. Food options are limited. Traditional Dutch croquettes on white toast and fried eggs and ham on toast. Tasty but pricy, and no butter served with the bread.

The croquettes with bread were still good, but there was no butter. The fried egg sandwich was rather meager, with three strips of bacon for an extra €1.50.

The starter was fine, everyone enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the main course was less appealing. When another table started complaining about the food, I believe this large group even left without paying because of the poor quality of the food. The manager didn't resolve this properly, and that spoiled the atmosphere in the restaurant.

Great staff It was my birthday and I got a sister in the ice cream, so fun!
