Today I came for dinner with a rather large group. We were seated in a corner near some round tables. Our waitress was super sweet, made small talk, and always made sure everything was perfect. A personal thank you to the young blonde woman (our waitress) and the friendly gentleman at the counter who paid us! The atmosphere was very pleasant; it was a bit busy, but we didn't notice it much from our seats. The restaurant is in a beautiful location! The food was delicious; we finished everything and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks so much, bears! We'll definitely be back!

We asked for a quiet, private spot, and after explaining the reason, that was no problem. Very nice. The steak was also delicious.

Great place despite the crowds during the matches, good service and top food

Great value for money! Everything was excellent. Friendly service, and the pace between courses of our three-course dinner was good. There was a wide selection of dishes for each course! Absolutely fantastic! One point for improvement: my gluten-free rolls were wrapped in plastic and placed in the garlic shrimp sauce. I would recommend removing the rolls from the plastic and offering them on a separate plate.

We went to lunch with my boyfriend this afternoon. We had chicken satay and a burger, which were delicious. We had a really nice lady who served us, a very nice woman who enjoys a chat! We received excellent service and will definitely be back. And the food was excellent.

Unfortunately, a lot of things went wrong, were inaccurate, and the meals were inedible. We often eat at De Beren, and they're always good (excellent, for example, De Beren near Den Hoorn), but here in Rotterdam South, it's impossible. - Tomato soup with meatballs... served cold, and yes, there was one meatball in the soup! (Okay, you'll take that last part for granted.) - Rib fingers (we've had them before)—this is the meat between the ribs, so boneless. (You can find them on Google, and we had a chef with us, so we know exactly what it is.) We got regular spare ribs. We mentioned this, and the answer we got was: "This is different at every Berenrestaurant (why is the menu the same then??!) And "rib fingers" is the same as spare ribs (hahahaha). Well-conceived, of course. - The mushroom sauce was cold and had curdled. So inedible. - The spare ribs weren't cooked through and had a lot of fat. I left them. I'd never eaten such bad ribs. The meat was just stuck to the ribs, yuck. - Then dessert. Dame Blanche. There was no chocolate sauce included. I asked for it. We got the sauce, and it was just cold! Everyone knows it's supposed to be warm! - Warm apple pie, asked for extra whipped cream. It wasn't included. Then we had it via Social Deal, which is fine, but when we paid, it was also on the bill, even though we'd already paid through Social Deal. A difference of only €104, if you weren't paying attention. So yes, the food is terrible, and yes, the service should also pay attention; at a good restaurant, the service staff checks it too. Therefore, one star for the food, for De Beren ROTTERDAM ZUID.

A very friendly welcome from a young man. The service was good and the food was delicious. Two things went wrong, and that can happen. This was resolved very well.

We ate outside on the shaded terrace. We had a three-course meal. The staff forgot to bring the drinks we ordered once, though the service was friendly.

The waitresses weren't friendly at all. The bar was almost empty, and they were rude about giving us a table, even though it was 2:30 p.m. The service was slow and almost apologetic for every food or drink we ordered. Everything was fine except for the waitresses' very unfriendly attitude.

Me and a few friends came in here after a day at the Hollywood event center. We were expecting to grab some food, sit down for an hour and go home. As soon as we sat down and ordered drinks we realized this was not going to be fast. The drinks alone took around 15 minutes to arrive, and as you can imagine, the food was even worse in waiting time. We ended up staying in this restaurant for 2.5 hours with a waiting time of 20 - 30 minutes between dishes. The food was alright but definitely not worth this much of my time

I really enjoy this café and visit regularly. However, I’ve noticed that the tables could be cleaned more often. Hygiene is important for the great experience you already offer

Good food, but your allergens list is too complicated. Maybe create a separate menu? Cozy, good service.

Despite the ever-present Feyenoord atmosphere, it was a disappointing experience. The beer was lukewarm and the portion was small. I've never had such a small chicken club sandwich at a Berenrestaurant! Tasty, despite the lack of bacon...

The "cheese" on the bear burger really tastes like melted plastic. There's so much delicious cheese out there. I recommend this place to try their burger for yourself and see if there really isn't a better cheese out there.

Unfortunately, the service was below par. The ladies clearly didn't feel like it. They came across as passive, don't look at you, and seem very uninterested. If you want to pay, you have to look yourself, let the other person do it, otherwise you have to wait at the counter to pay. They clearly didn't enjoy it. We were there on Saturday evening, June 29, and the food was fine, but the service didn't feel like it. Furthermore, it was sticky and dirty: cleaning tables every now and then is appreciated. There were friendly employees behind the bar, but the ladies in the service clearly showed that they didn't enjoy their work (really none of them). It's a shame that you employ such people.

This is mainly about the service on the terrace. My family and I like to sit on a terrace after a walk. Because there are no other terraces in the area, we often sit at De Beren. We really like the drinks and the menu there. But now it has happened a few times that we had to go inside ourselves to get someone, had to ask ourselves if the tables could be cleaned, and that empty plates remained on the tables for a long time while no one was sitting there anymore. The terrace looks quite messy, while it is actually not that busy that it cannot be maintained. We understand that there is often a shortage of staff in the catering industry, but a quick wipe over the tables and a broom through them would be so much nicer and give a much better impression!

Food was good, service bad, hardly came to the table, had to really ask for attention to get something to drink.

Hele leuke tent zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! hele leuke bedienster die je avond beter maakt! eten was heerlijk! na al die negatieve recensies wat naar mijn mening nergens op slaat. voor een leuke gezellige gelegenheid altijd naar de beren gaan. heerlijke spar ribs erg van genoten en mijn kids vonden de berenburger helemaal fantastisch. heel erg klantvriendelijk en sociaal.

This was my first time at De Beren and it really exceeded my expectations! For €29.95 we enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal with surprisingly good quality. The staff was friendly and the service fast. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and relaxed. It is located in a nice location with plenty of activities nearby, such as the cinema, Gamestate and minigolf.

Ate here a few years ago and now that I think back this is simply my worst experience ever in a restaurant. Disinterested staff, bad service and mediocre food. It was embarrassing to experience. Unfortunately we never went back.

Ordered 4 ounces of meat and 3 ounces of meat, medium. 4 ounces of meat rare and cold inside, 3 ounces of meat was 1.5 ounces of meat!! Manager helped us very well with our complaint, but they won't see us there again.

Despite being prepared for the peak crowd of the Di-recht concert in the Kuip. They were simply too busy to take orders, clear tables and also settle the bill. Plus also serve drinks. I saw that the young lady did her best. That was the most important thing for me.

Saturday June 14. There were 4 of us and we ordered 2 club sandwiches, 1 corndog and 2 croquettes on bread. A family of 6 arrived. 10 minutes later the corndog arrived (was completely soggy and very greasy). 20 minutes later still no food in total we had to wait 54 minutes for our food, the bread with the club sandwiches and 2 croquettes on bread was tough and there was a hair in 1 of the club sandwiches and the family we saw already had their food after 10 minutes while they arrived 20 minutes later than us. Fortunately we did have a 10 percent discount on our food and drinks but it was expensive in total 84.65. this is a warning always check the reviews before you eat or drink there and do not go there. and better not go here. Have a nice weekend.

Ate here before we went to Di-rect. Super nice host. Blonde beach boy like young man. Who did a really nice job. I told him that afterwards. But then the food. I understand that it is a big peak for the kitchen. But to put a cold chicken burger on the table. And 15 minutes later to bring 3 x satay is downright bad. And the service can't do anything about that. For the rest always good experiences at De Beren.

Bad, not like it was a while ago… We had ordered a few soft drinks, one of the glasses still had lipstick from the previous person on it. This is very bad, especially because of cold sores etc. Luckily we saw this and there were straws in the bottles. In addition, we were told at 21:30 that the kitchen was already closed. I personally find this very strange, but apparently they all wanted to go home on time. And the toilets were very dirty and not maintained.

Once and never again. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. I find it strange that you have to wait 2 hours for your food because it is busy, but that can still happen. What really annoys me is that they lie to your face about the fact that the food is coming. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Then a lame excuse. We were done with it. Just get a bag of fries at the local kiosk because these people don't know anything about it. What a disgrace

This was not good: the reservation via the website had not come through, the portions are small, expensive, lukewarm and tasteless. Service fine, but it is no longer worth it. I used to eat at many different De Beren restaurants, but this chain has unfortunately had its best time.

I have eaten at De Beren in many places over the years and in general this was a positive experience. I can't say the same about this location. What a bad restaurant this is, it would be a good idea if the head office would let a mystery guest eat here The service in particular is downright tear-jerking. It seems as if the service staff is let loose there without any training and even looking at that you wouldn't expect this low level. The food itself was ok, but if you see what it costs at De Beren these days you can expect a bit more.

We ate here tonight, food was ok but cold. Took a very long time. Drinks also took a very long time and often on the wrong table, so we had to go through the entire bill at the end. Service was mediocre and many grumpy waitresses. Next time we will just go back to Barendrecht.

3 x spareribs brought cold. 1 x steak tips 5 pieces of meat for the rest peppers-onions (plate full) salad, a small piece that would fit on a tablespoon. Price-quality 1 star.

Nice restaurant, good food, but small portions. Keep in mind with parking that, if Feyenoord plays at home, you pay (approximately) 2 hours before until 2 hours after not 2 euros per hour but 6 euros per hour.

Relaxed in the sun on May 3. Drink with the peanut pulled chicken. Only I had a different idea about pulled chicken. This looked like a substance scraped from the bone and ground, which you would not expect to have ever been chicken.

Nothing to complain about service. But the food was quite disappointing. My dish was cold and fries were lukewarm. A friend ordered pork tenderloin, which came on a bare plate. That looked so sad, no salad or vegetables. And it was well done while she asked for medium. Had lunch at these bears a few weeks ago and everything was just fine. I won't be back for dinner, so I'll go back to Schiedam. When I read some of the comments here, there are more people who have received cold food. @ the bears at pathe, please do something about this. The bears was my favorite, not anymore!

It's time for some needed maintenance and renewal of equipment. Many chairs with obvious damages

First time leaving a review.. bizarrely bad experience. Ate there as a group. Serving the main course before the starter... then half an hour later receiving the same plates that had been under the lamp (dried out). In addition, some of it was still cold. Better go to Mac for a burger...no taste. Rib fingers are simply spare ribs (with bone).. Take order but forget to deliver. Don't come and ask if everything is OK/if you want something to drink. Serving deserts while some had not yet ordered desert... also bad. We did receive financial compensation, but this does not make the experience much better... all in all a pitiful Beertjes experience.

Very bad, food was cold and service was very bad! Would never come here again. It was Wednesday, I mean if it was still Saturday I would have had some understanding. For courses 1 to 3, 1 star is too many.

Onlangs hebben we met een grote groep bij jullie gegeten. De service was op zich prima — vriendelijk personeel en de bediening verliep soepel. Toch laat het culinaire gedeelte helaas flink te wensen over. Allereerst valt op dat er op een relatief eenvoudige manier aanzienlijk meer omzet gegenereerd had kunnen worden. Met een iets slimmere aanpak hadden jullie met gemak zo’n €150 extra omzet kunnen draaien. Denk hierbij aan een betere timing van suggesties, upselling en inspelen op groepsdynamiek. Wat betreft de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding: deze ligt mijlenver uit elkaar. Zo werd er voor een Quattro Meat Burger €29,50 gevraagd — een prijs die hoge verwachtingen schept, zowel in presentatie als smaak. Helaas werd aan geen van beide voldaan. De kwaliteit en kwantiteit stonden absoluut niet in verhouding tot het gevraagde bedrag. De spare ribs waren een ander teleurstellend voorbeeld: gekookt en op die manier ook gepresenteerd. De lak werd er simpelweg overheen gesmeerd, waarna het bord zonder enige finesse werd geserveerd. Dit soort gerechten mist niet alleen ziel, maar ook vakmanschap. Hoewel de verwachtingen vooraf niet bijzonder hoog waren, heeft het bezoek van gisteravond bevestigd dat dit restaurant vanaf nu voor ons een absolute no go is. Mocht er ooit behoefte zijn aan culinair advies of een frisse blik op menustructuur, presentatie of gastbeleving, dan ben ik altijd bereid om mee te denken. Delicious meal before the Oranje vs Spain match

Very busy and machine work during competitions. The food is okay but not special. I'm guessing that the quality is generally higher when no match (feyenoord or NL team) is being played.

Went here for lunch before the Feyenoord match. We got frozen croquettes 3 times. They offered coffee or tea to compensate while we had the beer.

Not at all what we are used to from the bears in Breda. 1 lady from the service was completely exhausted, the other ladies sorry more talking than doing anything. And if you asked something you were looked at dirty. Food was ordered without a certain sauce, it was on it anyway so had to go back. Then it came cold on the table. Waiting time was also just too long. Many customers were complaining and were waiting a super long time for service. Again, respect to the somewhat (older lady) that you did your best!!!! But from now on we will just go to the bears in Breda.

We went for dinner with 5 people. We got the menu quickly, but we thought the time we had to wait for our drinks was long. Our food took almost an hour before it arrived. 2 dishes were good, the 2 people who had spareribs ate this but it was not warm enough and the nachos with pulled chicken were cold and were sent back. The staff walked around as if they did not feel like it. In between we asked if they could heat up baby food in the microwave (30 sec. at 600 watts), this took about 5 minutes before they came back with the bottle and the bottle came back piping hot and I had to cool it down under the cold tap before it could be given. We still wanted a dessert, but that also took a very long time and contained nuts in 1 dish without this being stated and could therefore also be sent back. After indicating everything when paying, there was 0 empathy and we will not be coming back here.

The location is easy to find and it is a top location near all the nice and cozy terraces and game halls, all excellent

Went to dinner with a group of 14 people, never again. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Firstly, our reservation was not in the system, so we were forced to be seated at an upstairs table in a cramped space. Once seated we were given a card which was collected again after ten minutes because we had been given the wrong card for a group menu. After a while we got our starter, except for one. That came later because it was forgotten. The carpaccio came from the freezer and was very watery. With the main course we got fries without sauce, which we had to ask for ourselves. The parmesan cheese and truffle sauce that we paid €2.50 extra for seemed to have been accidentally spilled on top, so little. When they finally arrived at the table with the sauce, everyone had almost finished their food. Glasses were not removed so the table was full of glasses from 14 people. Our hope is therefore pinned on dessert. The "young lady" who came to serve this apparently made a rude comment at the table because it was difficult to understand everything due to the noise, we were crammed next to another large group. You had to wash away the apple crumble because it was bone dry and unedible. After dessert, no one came by to ask if we wanted coffee or something afterwards, and not once did we ask if everything was to our liking (why would that be). Staff also shuffled through the place as if they didn't feel like it. In short, we felt anything but welcome and we will certainly never eat here again. The quality has deteriorated considerably.

The tent itself has potential, but unfortunately all our vegetables were cold or overcooked, the staff did not understand what the intention was and we ultimately had to pay for their mistake.

Didn't have high expectations anyway. I opted for it safe and had a burger with fries. Burger was almost soaked. Fries arrived cold. Sent the fries back. They put this back in the deep fryer and I got it back. Those oil-soaked fries. If you have any doubts about whether you should eat here, just don't. Furthermore, the service was excellent and the food came quickly

We had reserved a table for 4. Walked away after waiting 40 minutes to even place an order. Never again!

The food was fine. It was a shame that the desserts from the menu that had been ordered in advance were no longer available when it was time for dessert. And the cutlery had to be saved after the starter for the main course because there apparently was no other cutlery left. I have never experienced that in a restaurant.

Pleasant staff and neat and tidy

The evening started well, but the pork tenderloin arrived slightly raw, so we sent it back. Half an hour later the same meat came back, only badly burned on one side. Given the long wait, we ate one piece and left the burnt piece. The employee we told it to showed understanding, but according to the manager, could offer nothing other than a new dish (we had already been here for 1.5 hours and the rest had already been eaten!). Strange that the dish could not be taken off the bill. When we asked the manager for further explanation, the manager told the same story. Remarkable that there was not an ounce of empathy to be found; According to her, a 'little raw and burnt' was not a bad thing. For us it was raw and very burnt! An apology for the inconvenience would have been appropriate. Ultimately, the dish could suddenly be taken off the bill. All in all, we had a great evening, with the exception of the unpleasant and not customer-friendly conversation with the manager.

When we visited this restaurant we were immediately warmly welcomed. The service was very friendly and made us feel immediately at ease. During the evening the waiter and waitresses regularly came by to ask if everything was to your liking, which we really appreciated. The food was truly delicious! Each dish was prepared with care and the flavors were perfectly matched. From the starter to the dessert, everything was a true delight for the taste buds.

The reception went well after reservation. The destination was also recorded quite smoothly. Well, the spare ribs were okay, the red potato fries were not crispy/too soft and the bowls were minimally filled. The accompanying salad on the plates was NOT okay. There was a mountain on one plate, almost nothing on the other plate and the taste did not match what you saw. Then ordered dessert 3 times and a cup of coffee with whipped cream (how difficult can it be). The coffee is brought... without whipped cream. The waitress responds: whipped cream is gone 😂 how about that. Well, she couldn't answer that herself. Then what do you think about the bill: yes, including the whipped cream that was supposedly (!!) gone. Whether it was the crowds or just less service and focus... I'm not sure. I'm used to better and different things.

Great place, high on my list, especially the spareribs and ribeye

Expensive for what you get. 29.50 for a hamburger sandwich... that's all. That slice of bacon could fry any crazy person. 19 euros for some pieces of chicken in a sauce with paprika. The fries you get with the dish don't even have mayonnaise. For example, for that price I get a hearty meal at vd Valk. De Beren has become a snack bar with skyrocketing prices. Never come there again. Shame.

Food is severely overpriced... no atmosphere, the music was out, the place was 1/3 full, you had to wait an insanely long time for your food.... It's not dirty, but for that money you can eat much better... crème brulee, which is hot on the left, ice cold on the right... Quite scandalous for 11 euros! Omdat onze dochter jarig was mocht ze zelf kiezen waar ze wilde eten. Het werd bij de Beren op Rotterdam-Zuid b8j de Kuip. Het was voor ons héél lang geleden dat we naar de Beren zijn geweest. De laatste keer was nog bij de Boompjes ( waar het allemaal ooit is begonnen ) toen was het erg goed en kreeg je heerlijke warme en grote porties Spare-ribs, zelfs onbeperkt ! Maar wat wij nu mee maakte was wel even heel anders. De Spare ribs waren lauw tot bijna koud en we hadden gebakken aardappelen er bij besteld want de serveerster vroeg of wij franse frietjes of gebakken aardappelen er bij wilde. Toen het gebracht werd hadden we franse frietjes en zei een andere serveerster die het kwam brengen dat ze helemaal geen gebakken aardappelen hebben ha, ha. We hadden ook de Kip Saté genomen, ook die was niet erg warm en er zat een vreemde smaak aan de kip. Er zat een vreemde koelkast smaak aan die we niet helemaal konden plaatsen. En dan de prijs kwaliteit verhouding voor wat je krijgt, is niet in verhouding. Wij bevelen dit restaurant niet aan !!!

Celebrated a birthday yesterday with a group of 11 people. It was particularly mediocre. Started with a lukewarm tomato soup, with the main course everything was served without fries, which were only brought a lot later. The sweet potato fries were lukewarm and we returned them. The salmon had not been baked long enough and was therefore still raw on the inside. Everyone had already finished eating when I got the salmon, this time well cooked and also warm sweet potato wedges, so it was possible. For dessert, some wanted ice cream and some wanted coffee and tea. The Dame Blanche was requested: without whipped cream, it was served without whipped cream and without chocolate sauce. Furthermore, everyone had already finished it, then we still had to wait for 2 coffees and a beer that were ordered at the same time. In short, very mediocre and you constantly have the feeling that they have not got it right organizationally.

I would like to share my review of De Beren Rotterdam south :) Yesterday I made a reservation for 4:45 PM... There was a big hassle with the public transport tram traffic in Rotterdam center so we couldn't make it to 4:45 PM. Called the restaurant and explained about public transport and that we were not going to make it in time. Very friendly lady on the phone, it was no problem to move the reservation to a later date. Because we were delayed for more than an hour, we were short on time to eat first and then go to our movie. The Bears explained this and it was completely understood... then you can come and have a nice bite to eat after the film, they said... no sooner said than done. We were served quickly and friendly and the food was served quickly and well. The meat and fries were hot and the dessert was delicious! Thanks for the nice evening!

Great food but had to wait way too long. We had a reservation at 6:15 PM and only ordered a sandwich and a main course and it only arrived at 7:35 PM after asking twice. It's a bit of a shame if you have to be at the cinema at 8pm. Once again, a nice meal in the end.

Food was not warm. After removing the plates, we were not asked if we wanted dessert. Then tried several times to arrest an employee without success. Ended up leaving without dessert, coffee or tea. Very unfortunate.

Fine and much better than other locations

Yes, what can you say... Yet we visited a Bear again. With the thought “we'll give it a chance” My opinion is that things have only gotten worse. Mediocre food, bad service. Back in the days of Bruintje/Brutus Beer, we loved coming there. Never been to the Bears before? Skip it! Waste of money.

Today we had dinner here with a small group of 8 people. The hostess was extremely friendly and provided us with a pleasant evening. The food was excellent as was the service and atmosphere. I would say: worth repeating!

This time not what I was used to from the Beren in general, always 5 stars for all, but now here in Rotterdam South I'm sobbing

We were neatly taken to our table, the service was very friendly and despite the crowds we were quickly spoiled with our 3 course dinner, it tasted excellent.
