Restaurant "De Cuijt" in Wijk 01 Mierlo

We went for lunch at De Cuijt on a Friday afternoon 1.5 weeks ago, and it was fantastic in one word! The owner (and his staff) are very hospitable, they have a beautiful garden, and we enjoyed the delicious food (always with a surprising Asian twist!). It is genuine Brabant coziness, but wrapped in a very good culinary package: we will definitely be back!

We had a delicious meal last night! The dishes were creative and super tasty, really worth it. We were warmly welcomed; the atmosphere is not stiff but rather comfortable and cozy. We will definitely be back!

On Friday afternoon, we were welcomed in a friendly manner as the only guests, and what followed was a culinary feast lasting nearly four hours! From the refined amuse-bouches to the friandises, everything was perfect. We were able to devour every last drop of lobster with a delicious beurre blanc enriched with a drop of Korean peppery oil, accompanied by a delicious brioche bun. The Korean influences and flavors truly make De Cuijt a unique restaurant in the Netherlands. The friendly sommelier and his choices completed the picture. Beautiful wines with a detailed explanation and a tour of the herb garden. All in all, a Michelin-star-worthy experience that is worth repeating.

Our trip for a birthday lunch…on the recommendation of Der Feinschmecker…very worthwhile…great spot in the garden…refined cuisine with a feminine Korean touch.

Go Here! What a treat! We are waiting for the Michelin star. And make a reservation! Because it is busy and full every evening. This is food with flavor. Pure, honest, and no fuss. Do you have something to celebrate? Then go here for an evening. You won't be disappointed. And go for the surprise menu. My mom isn't the biggest or best eater. And I regularly act as a dumpster. But I looked pleadingly at her plates, hoping she didn't want it or didn't like it. She finished it almost before me! She ate every course! Even the desserts, and we aren't really into those. But ice cream with geranium? I won't say anything, but it is DELICIOUS with a capital DE! The food is fine and absolutely not too little! You won't be full, but you will certainly be satisfied! The ambiance is great and the staff is incredibly friendly. The layout is arranged so that they have a maximum of 26 (I believe) people per evening. If the weather is nice? Then they can sit outside or inside. Inside, it is super neat and absolutely no fuss there either. But here too, there is an eye for detail. The tablecloths and napkins? High quality! Beautiful, fresh flowers, and the restroom has been given attention too. I really want to go to great lengths to come up with something that isn't right, but I can't find anything! Yes, maybe since an aperitif costs 13 euros, that the price should perhaps be listed? But hey, if you can pay 115 for a menu? Then you know you're going to end up with a bill of around 300 to 400 euros for two people. Depending on what you drink. A glass of wine is something like 9 euros. A lager is something like 7.50. And you pay 6.50 per person for the water service; which I think is fine. Once again: go here! It is an absolute blast! I won't post too many photos; let yourself be surprised!

Had a fantastic evening at Koen's in Mierlo. You come for good food, which is exactly what you get, and you also get the friendly atmosphere provided by both the front-of-house and back-of-house staff. The influences of Yukyung are clearly recognizable in the amazing menu of many tasty appetizers. A perfect match in every respect. Rolled away satisfied and happy, and hopefully until next time!

We were surprised by our son to eat here, and we were very happy about it 🥰 The restaurant is divided into two areas, making it feel more intimate. Unfortunately, there was a table of six, which made it quite a bit noisier. You had the choice of one set menu or eating à la carte. We opted for the set menu; our son had already let them know in advance what we didn't eat, and this was taken into account. The dishes all look amazing and are very flavorful, with surprising flavor combinations; the Korean touch is a real added value! The chefs themselves also come out to serve the dishes; they are enthusiastic and talk about their dishes with passion. If you love fine dining, this restaurant is definitely highly recommended! It's a shame the dishes are so small, because you actually want more, it's that delicious! 😁

Wow, we had such a delicious meal at De Cuijt. So refined, such subtle flavors! Of all the appetizers we tasted, we found only a few slightly less impressive, but there was truly nothing that wasn't tasty. It was very special to taste flavor after flavor, which gave the dish more depth. The pigeon and the lobster supplement were top-notch. Was there anything wrong? We found the sommelier less approachable, somewhat distant and stiff. He poured the glass without letting you taste it first. This makes it difficult to refuse. We would appreciate being allowed to taste first. In that case, we wouldn't choose the Pinot Noir. One of us indicated to him that they do not like pork belly. This was not passed on to the kitchen, so lamb belly with a rim of fat was served. That was a shame. The jus for this dish was delicious, by the way. Throughout the entire meal, there was a beautiful balance; we had eaten exactly enough. The tart and the French canelé were just a bit too much and lacked the subtlety of the menu (the two bonbon-like sweets did). In our opinion, that could be better. We considered the attention Koen gave you a plus. Go eat here, we would say.

Unfortunately... I was there just last year and it was okay. But back then, allergies could still be taken into account. Now, people with allergies are no longer welcome. I don't have an allergy myself (my friends do), but I find it ridiculous that a restaurant mentioned in the Michelin Guide is unable to accommodate allergies. As far as I'm concerned, that immediately disqualifies you as a restaurant. Very unfortunate... it's just around the corner from me... but unfortunately, that's not an option.

Cujit in Mierlo is truly one of those places that makes you happy. The people who work there are very friendly. The music was just right. Not loud, nice and in the background. I think I even heard CCR play a few times. That immediately makes it more relaxing for me. The food was delicious. A real sensation of flavors. Lots of fish, which we love. Everything beautifully balanced and exciting without being complicated. For a fixed price, we got 12 bites. A surprise every single time. Every bite was full of umami. I sat there savoring the flavors all afternoon. They work with local products and the menu changes several times a year. That alone is a reason to go back. So, that is what we are going to do.

The chefs, especially Yuki is very friendly and introduced the dish with passion. Some dishes were okay, but some still need improvement. For example, the salmon dish was overcooked on the edge and looked pretty white, and only the middle was perfectly cooked. For the duck dish, the raw duck itself did not have flavors/not seasoned. The peper covered all the flavor of the leek beef dish, and the leek tasted pretty raw. While, the appetizer part was okay. When I mentioned that the leek was a bit raw (the only negative comment for the whole night), the chef just said that it was a pity. It was indeed a pity because I did have a higher expectation for food than what I got in the end. Why I did not mention the name of the dishes but only the ingredients? The menu was truly a surprise because we were never given the menu. No one told us the option of adding the lobster or asked if we needed wine paring... Just because we told to leave at 10.30 pm and came at 6.45 pm? Please let other customers have a look at the menu next time... I do think that it is a basis if you define the restaurant as a fine dining restaurant.

We had a wonderful evening at restaurant De Cuijt this evening. We opted for the surprise menu and were treated to a series of beautifully crafted courses over the course of four hours. Each dish was thoughtfully composed: the balance was just right, and the flavors subtly enhanced each other. The sommelier also perfectly matched each wine to the menu, adding to the ambiance and completeness of the evening. We went home feeling utterly blissful. We think it's more than worthy of a Michelin star.

It was my second time visiting this restaurant; the service has improved significantly, as has the experience. Highly recommended.

Great sommelier. Unfortunately, the service was otherwise mediocre; wine glasses were often empty and were not refilled. The interior is unfortunately finished too sloppily, and the same is evident in many dishes. The owner/chef was unreasonably rude when a dish was served in a way that should never have left the kitchen. Ultimately, perhaps a local recommendation, but certainly nothing more than that. Unfortunately, not Michelin-worthy.

Seriously overpriced, especially the wines. A signature dish without a main ingredient is charged extra. They profile themselves as a Michelin-starred restaurant but still have a long way to go. All in all, a disappointment.

What a gem we've found in beautiful Mierlo! We went for the first time on Friday and had a truly wonderful evening. The new owners are a lovely couple, true professionals who create and prepare every dish with passion and skill. The staff is young, but skilled and enthusiastic, creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere in this charming, beautiful farmhouse by the canal. I would describe the food as classic with a Korean touch here and there. No over-the-top presentations or complicated constructions. Simply the product, prepared to perfection, complemented by delicious wines. What I personally really appreciated is that you can choose your Champagne upon arrival. They have a beautiful Millisimé Blanc de Noir, but also a very nice Blanc de Blanc. That's a real treat for any Champagne lover. Another great thing was that at the end of dinner, we were invited to have a drink at the bar, where we ended up sitting for quite a while, chatting with the owner and sommelier. All in all, we truly enjoyed our time at Mierlo's new gem. We'll definitely be back. I can't wait to sit in the garden next summer and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner.

The chefs menu was amazing. The food was exceptional, perfectly cooked and delicious. For me, the fish dishes were the highlights. The fish was cooked to perfection with incredible sauces, and the desserts and petit four were beautiful, especially the petit four which looked spectacular.We were unable to try the signature dish, gochugang lobster, which I had hoped for. I also found the duck with foie gras quite intense without any side dishes. The service was excellent from start to finish, with great wine recommendations. I would love to come back again.

It was a joy to have lunch here with our family on Sunday afternoon, 23/11, in one word TOP!!

The food was good, but the service unfortunately left a lot to be desired. We both find it more honest when there's transparency about extra charges, which wasn't the case for us, resulting in a very high bill. After saving for a while to finally dine out in luxury, this was a disappointment. Unfortunately, we also ran out of drinks several times. I emailed them about this and reported it via the feedback form, but received no response.

Every fine dining restaurant is unique in elaborating their concepts. We booked a table at De Cuijt on an easy Sunday. No prior expectation and came home with a very soothing warm feeling. A restaurant that has a character, yet the Brabantse gastvrijheid. We went for a la carte because there are a few dishes combinations that we hadn’t tried before in our experiences. Every bite, from the langoustine to the creamy dense melted Epoisses, was hervorragend, you’d say in German. One very unique addition is the infused Korean spices in a few dishes. Something that me as an Asian truly appreciate. A lunch well-spent with generous hospitality.

Outside the city in rural Mierlo you find the beautiful restaurant "De Cuijt". The interior kept the classic elements and little up by the autumn sun it really is a great location for a great meal. We went for the chefs menu and a stream of beautiful dishes came from the kitchen. Often one of the chefs came to explain the dish what I always like. Some dishes where a little high on acidity what I personally like. They have a great selection of wines with a skilled sommelier that helps with the pairing selection. This really was great value for these stunning dishes. We will be back for dinner.

Very underrated place, insane value for money with two former 3 Michelin starred chefs running the kitchen, Koen and Yuki. Worth the trip!

We had a truly wonderful afternoon. The atmosphere was great, the music was lovely, and the setting was beautiful and peaceful. The staff were very friendly, not stiff, and we had a good laugh. Between courses, we received a damp towel to clean our hands, which was very helpful. The courses were nicely structured, flavorful, and filling. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend it.

Finally, a restaurant that doesn't succumb to safe culinary trends, but instead embraces gourmands, or "fine dining." Don't go here for predictability; be surprised. An evening of tasting that inspires you to try new ingredients and unfamiliar wines. Pure enjoyment of high quality. The acoustics still need some fine-tuning.

A unique experience in every way! I recommend this to anyone who enjoys long dinners. So delicious and creative, and prepared with such care.

We thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic lunch menu and beautiful wines. All the dishes were so unique, honest, and surprisingly flavorful. We've already reserved a table!

We had an incredibly wonderful dinner experience with friends at this top-notch restaurant! We spent almost our entire Sunday afternoon enjoying pure regional flavors. As we arrived, the last blackberries were being picked from the garden! The wine selection was excellent, ranging from sparkling Rosé to crisp Sauvignon Blanc to a warmer oaked Chardonnay, and finally, a 2012 Rioja. All paired perfectly with the dishes and were served attentively! After lunch, we went home satisfied, enriched by a wonderful experience. This won't be a one-time experience!

We ate at the new owner's place for the first time, and it was fantastic! We received a very friendly welcome. We had the set menu, which consisted of many small dishes. All beautifully presented and presented in an original way. They used edible flowers and herbs from their own garden, along with local ingredients. It was all absolutely delicious! Today I ordered the lunch menu. The food was fantastic, with 12 very tasty small dishes, without the standard gels that are increasingly found in high-end restaurants. Unequal price/quality ratio! Great wines on the menu.

We have a party eating here! In every course the best is brought out in a few ingredients. No topping here, gel there. It's all about the essence with very tasty sauces and dressings to finish it off. Nice that the staff and the chef also had the time to chat about the food and the wine.

Restaurant De Cuijt in Mierlo, hidden in a charming historical building, presents itself as an idyllic oasis where craftsmanship, hospitality and culinary finesse merge perfectly. From the moment we were warmly welcomed with our party of four (two couples, one of whom was pregnant), it was clear that we were in for something special. Our evening began on the atmospheric terrace in a beautifully landscaped garden. Surrounded by colourful flowers, mature trees and edible plants, we were spoiled with excellently chosen champagnes from Courtier – an elegant blanc de blancs for some, and for others a beautiful blend with more pinot noir and a hint of meunier. The fresh, inventive amuses that followed, prepared with ingredients from their own garden, underlined the creative ability of chef-owner Koen van Weert and his charming wife, who guided us through the concept with warm hospitality and knowledge. Once inside, the interior surprised us with its light colours and subtle historical accents. The attentive sommelier convinced us with his solid knowledge, and guided us in a pleasant, expert manner. This with respect for budget, without being pushy. His choice of wines (white and red from Schäfer-Fröhlich) seamlessly matched the extensive, approximately 14-course menu, in which seasonal ingredients were central. A remarkable achievement, especially considering the lack of a classic wine pairing – a choice that testified to both honesty and flexibility towards the guest. Chef Koen and his wife served the courses with a passion that was palpable. Dishes were presented like paintings on the plate, with an exceptional sense of balance between fresh vegetables, fish and surprises from the water. Each sauce once again proved the mastery of the chef, and although the menu was extensive, the tension was excellently preserved up to and including the desserts. With an emphasis on light, fresh and elegant, there was still clear attention to powerful flavours in each dish and there was no lack of interesting structures. With attention to our pregnant table companion, her wishes were perfectly anticipated; dishes were adapted without compromising on quality or presentation. A model of subtlety and class. After the desserts we returned to the terrace, where comfortable heat sources and blankets increased the comfort. Coffee and particularly creative friandises followed, accompanied by local pride – Mierlo cherries – and a generous offer of digestives. Chef Koen personally chatted in between, not as a formal obligation, but out of genuine interest and love for his profession and guests. I have rarely felt so appreciated and welcome in a fine dining environment. De Cuijt brilliantly combines culinary craftsmanship with an exceptional sense of hospitality. This restaurant undeniably deserves a place in the highest regions of gastronomic Netherlands. Anyone who loves perfection in a relaxed, enchanting ambiance should definitely put this address on their list.

A fantastic evening of Fine Dining with delicious dishes and dessert wines. The new owners have beautifully renovated the interior of the restaurant, but if possible, they eat outside under the canopy. The experience that the owners bring from a 3-Michelin star restaurant is very well reflected in all dishes.

For the first time here we had the very extensive lunch with Father's Day. (menu - surprise, pass on allergy etc.). Very friendly and thoughtful staff, neat and hygienic, fantastic food, very extensive wine list. The entire lunch was an experience with a very rich variety of flavors. Great combinations, every dish was delicious! Our son was difficult in the beginning and the staff helped with that involved and understanding. All in all a big 5 stars and recommended! Pricey but definitely worth it. Keep it up, then G&M will definitely be mentioned 🍴 Thank you for the wonderful afternoon!

The food is really delicious!!! All different courses and that is a party again. Still not five stars? Well, in terms of price quality we found it just not good enough. The service is mediocre. There was a mistake made with the reservation, they were not alert to empty glasses and it sometimes came out stiff. Furthermore, all four of us were not satisfied after the meal and we were still hungry. For example, we missed bread or something of sides with the dishes. In addition, we could not get a half glass arrangement, there was no decaf coffee and the glasses of soda were sparsely filled. In short, a big plus for the chef and the food. But also a few minus points, which is a shame!

Nice addition to the region What a nice surprise De Cuijt is. The chef serves a menu of 14 small dishes, each one full of flavor and made with beautiful, rich ingredients. It feels like a culinary journey with surprising combinations and an eye for detail. However, that journey goes by at high speed. The dishes follow each other quite quickly, which sometimes makes you feel like you hardly have time to really think about what is on your plate. That is a shame, because the dishes deserve that attention. Also, 14 courses sounds like a lot, but because of the portion size it is not that bad in the end. For me personally, that meant that at the end I did not have that completely satisfied feeling that I had hoped for in advance. What I personally also missed was a piece of bread with the first few courses. There were a few dishes where it would have been nice to be able to finish the sauce with a piece of bread. The wine pairing is well chosen and fits in nicely with the dishes. It's also nice that this is presented in an accessible, relaxed way, without too much fuss. All in all a very nice start, with room for refinement here and there. But that's logical, they just opened and have already created something special. Compliments to the entire team, I'm curious to see how it develops further and will gladly come back in a while

Wat een enorme aanwinst voor Mierlo en omstreken. De nieuwe eigenaar weet “fine dining” op de kaart te zetten. Zeer hoge kwaliteit eten voor een nette prijs. Je kunt merken dat de koks op zeer hoog niveau koken (3 sterren). Je krijgt een vast menu van 10 of 15 bereidingen waar versheid, lokale producten, kwaliteit en smaakbeleving bovenaan staan. Dit gecombineerd met een schitterend wijn arrangement.

What a great asset for Mierlo. The new owner knows how to put “fine dining” on the menu. All small preparations and amuses of very high quality (10 to 15 courses, no choice so be surprised). The price - performance ratio is perfect. Unfortunately the terrace was not open yet, but we will come back soon.

Let op ! Sinds enkele weken nieuwe uitbaters dus let niet op oude recensies. Heerlijk gegeten in nieuwe warme en lichte ambiance. Kleine gerechtjes geïnspireerd uit de Frans/Nederlandse keuken met Scandinavische en oosterse invloeden. Uitstekende bediening en sommelier met verstand van zaken. Kortom een aanrader en aanwinst voor Mierlo !

Een eerste kennismaking met Koen van Weert. Sinds een paar weken chefkok in het geheel vernieuwde restaurant de Cuijt. Geen menukaart, geen keuze(stress). Koen zal ons verrassen Wat een.heerlijke avond. Een bijzonder hartelijke.ontvangst, een groot aantal kleine gerechten met bijpassende wijnen. Een sommelier die wist van wijnen !! Het was top. De gerechten zijn soms met een koreaanse twist,( echtgenote is koreaans), maar een haverpannekoekje of asperge met ei klinkt weer nederlands. Vaak met gebruik van kruiden, groenten en bloemen uit de omgeving. Verrassend en erg lekker. We hebben genoten !! En komen zeker terug

There has been a new owner/chef in De Cuijt since April 2025. Completely different type of restaurant than before, both in terms of design and dishes! These chefs have cooked at a star restaurant in Copenhagen and this is reflected in the menu, presentation and flavors. Extremely delicious food, with many local, fresh and pure products. Perfect service and explanation of the dishes by one of the chefs themselves. Delicious drinks, even non-alcoholic. A real treat!

Soon a new operator who has developed for years in various star restaurants will focus on exclusive and delicious dining out with the matching drinks in this traditionally famous location, I will certainly enjoy it.

You won't get such tender meat anywhere else, the Chateaubriand is highly recommended! And sitting there in the garden is really nice. Every time we are there, 3 hours fly by. In one word great!

Food okay, service very slow, taste and presentation good, portions and side dishes sparse. Fear that they have too few staff. A little extra salad, bread or something would have been nice.

Op deze locatie kwam ik echt tot rust met mijn autisme, de tafels staan ver uit elkaar in de tuin, 3 uur daar gezeten omdat het zo fijn was. Uitzonderlijk is ook dat ik twee voorgerechtjes had en een hoofdgerecht waarbij ik allemaal de garnituur opgegeten heb. Dat wil zeggen dat de gerechtjes compleet waren en bij het hoofdgerecht eet ik normaal alle friet op (deze was wel zeer lekker) dit wil dus zeggen dat het kwaliteit was. Veel verschillende plekjes om leuk buiten te kunnen zitten, ook tijdens regen...

March 3, 2024, De Cuijt was not open at that time, so we used the parking lot there for a small bicycle repair. But I still come here often and especially in nice cycling weather it can be quite busy here. But sometimes there is almost nothing to do, just sit quietly in the back of the garden and have a cup of coffee with a sandwich or whatever. The staff is quite nice and even on busy days they do their utmost to serve customers smoothly. De Cuijt is easily accessible both by car and by bicycle and, with its location almost on the Eindhoven canal, it is often a stopover for many fair-weather cyclists. The Burgemeester Termeerstraat is often a street that is sought out by route drivers because it is a quiet road.

Time seems to have stood still here. There is an attractive brown café and restaurant area and also a large outdoor terrace that was not yet open during our visit. We had a well-organized lunch here. The service was very friendly. We will definitely visit De Cuijt more often.

It was just like 45 years ago, nothing changed, and the food was delicious. Nice atmosphere and casual.

Delicious fillet steak and sole. And flexible and cooperative staff when you want a slightly different soup or dessert.

Voor de zoveelste keer bij De Cuijt wezen eten, en alweer heerlijk gegeten en met een prima wijnarrangement erbij. Wij hadden het 5-gangen menu en ook dit keer was het weer verrassend en lekker ! We komen hier zeker weer vaker terug.

It's been too long since I've been there, but everything was as usual. Time stands still here.

Oudbollig restaurant, maar als de sfeer gezellig is, maakt dat echt niet uit. Maar je voelt je niet welkom als gast. De oudere garde was onverschillig en gereserveerd. De jonge medewerkers waren wel heel aardig, zij deden echt hun best. Prijs kwaliteit was onvoldoende. Zowel smaak van de gerechten als de opmaak viel tegen. We kregen uiteindelijk een flinke rekening voorgeschoteld. Voor ons geen 2e keer meer.

Fijne ontvangst in een “oude” herberg met intiem tuinterras. Hartelijke bediening met aandacht voor de gast Lekkere gerechten tegen aanvaardbare prijzen

Lekker eten, vriendelijke bediening, hier voel je je echt te gast zoals het hoort 👌. Mooi terras in de zomer, binnen wat ouwbolliger maar zeker gezellig. We komen hier graag terug.

Huiskamergevoel in het restaurant binnen. Buiten ook heerlijk om te borrelen en te eten. Service top. In de aspergestijd erg lekkere gerechten evenals in de herfst de kaart met wild een aanraader

Super aardig personeel....een heel persoonlijke chef die openstaat voor speciale wensen en supergoede en verrassende gerechten op tafel kan zetten.....we komen zeker weer terug!

De omgeving en het terras is erg mooi. De serveerster is erg aardig. We bestelden twee salades, eentje met vis eentje met kip. Veel salade weinig garnituur. De salade heeft geen dressing. Eigenlijk meer een voorgerecht. Een bord met veel droge sla en wat garnituur erop. Daarna nog trek, en twee appeltaart besteld met koffie. Een appeltaart die je in elke supermarkt kan kopen, niets bijzonders, en dat voor 4,50 per stuk. Een lunch met een karige salade en een appeltaart, met koffie en een biertje voor € 50,00 euro.
