Golfrestaurant De Hooghe Bergh in Wijk 01 Mierlo

A wonderfully beautiful and peaceful place to relax after a round of golf. With excellent cuisine.

This week I ate the new meatballs introduced by Libéma. Bitterballen look-alike. No, they weren't good. Too bad, Toon's bitterballen were so good.

My previous review is unfortunately no longer relevant. The terrace remains great, but the prices? May. I hadn't been there for a week or two or three. Apparently, there's been a change of ownership. I love to enjoy a nice, tasty Cornetje or Tripel after a few hours of hard work on the course or at the practice facilities. Lots of new faces on the waitstaff; very young. Cornet suddenly experienced a massive downsizing, from 0.35 to 0.25 glasses, a 40% reduction! It's like a flute-like Cornet. 8 bitterballen, 2 wines, 2 very, very small Cornets. 31 euros please. You're better off bringing your own beer there now.

Wherever I go, nationally and internationally, I eat fish soup whenever possible. In the Netherlands I know three restaurants where this fish soup is very tasty, but nowhere is it as good in terms of taste and filling as at Toon van Rooij's in restaurant De Hooghe Bergh at golf club De Gulbergen. It's just a shame that the chef doesn't serve rouille with it, which I understand in warm weather, but if you ask Toon before you come, he will certainly serve it. And I hope they will keep this fish soup on their menu for a long time to come. Wout de Vries

Cozy restaurant and terrace with beautiful views and friendly staff

It is a great kitchen after a run or a round of practice. Also great as a stopover during an outdoor activity.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. That makes up for it somewhat. They certainly haven't learned this from the owner. He's no stranger to shouts like, "Get lost, man, you whine!" Apparently, a full terrace and then promptly turning off the lights to ruin the atmosphere and get you out as quickly as possible is also normal. But please, pay up! I won't spend a single euro here again. Fawty Towers is nothing compared to this.

Uitstekend gegeten en waar voor je geld. Zeer attent personeel en vooral corona proof.

Een golfbaan met een uitstekend restaurant. Het menu was van voor- tot nagerecht top en dat voor 40 personen. Heerlijk gegeten, complimenten aan de kok!

Heerlijke avond gehad met heerlijk eten en ontzettend gastvrij personeel. Een echte aanrader.

Leuke pauze plaats voor fietsers.
