We had a phenomenal evening with a group of 10, for the first time in the Portier. The service from Jona and his colleagues was extremely friendly, professional and well tailored to the group. The (vegetarian and meat/fish) dishes with matching mocktail or wine were all well received.

The service is not only professional, but also really interested in the guest. They are people people. The food is expertly made with great taste and it is original. The chef knows how to create a special taste experience with often very ordinary (and sometimes special) products. Beautiful stories are told about the wines, which all have their own special taste. Delicious food, staff responds very well to your wishes. As far as I'm concerned, this restaurant is one of the top in Nijmegen. Portion sizes may not be enough for big eaters; We also gradually decided to include corridor 5, but that is of course very subjective. A good place for a semi-casual daytime dinner. Although the dishes in general are certainly not large (they look more like appetizers) they were very well prepared and tasty. The restaurant is run in a very professional manner, but the whole entourage sometimes feels a bit "over the top". A more subdued presentation may contribute to a well balanced dining experience.

We zijn al verschillende malen in de Portier geweest. De eerste keer met vrienden die het restaurant al kenden. Nu was ik jarig en wilde mijn verjaardag hier vieren. Het eten is verfijnd, prachtig opgediend en heel attente bediening.

De Portier is een haute Quisine restaurant. Het eten wordt met veel zorg gemaakt en ziet er heel mooi uit. Het zijn ware kunststukken die je op je bord krijgt. Dit wordt met aandacht geserveerd door zeer bekwaam personeel. Jammer genoeg was ik niet ingesteld op een museumbezoek en had ik verwacht mijn honger te kunnen stillen. Met honger heb ik het restaurant verlaten. Mijn tip zou zijn om behalve de kunststukken nog passende bijlagen te serveren zodat je voor het hoge bedrag ook met een voldaan gevoel het restaurant verlaat.

Very warm welcome in this old and beautiful house next to the parking and museum. We took the 4 courses lunch and accompanying wines and enjoyed the fantastic christmas decoration. Excellent food and wines, highly competently explained. Cuisine and service at its best!

vanmiddag uitgebreid zakelijk geluncht. het idee was dat het even was, dat is niet gelukt.. Na aankomst in dit mooi verbouwde en gezellig ogende restaurant, waar we zeer vriendelijk ontvangen werden, namen we plaats aan tafel. We werden met alle egards behandeld en kregen uitleg van de middag, een 4-gangen lunch met bijpassende wijnen. We begonnen met 2 prachtig vervaardigde smaakexplosies op sokkel, waarna de lunch begon, 4 gangen van heerlijke gerechten met elegante, en wel gebalanceerde smaken streelde ons tongen, de wijnen pairde perfect met dit moois. Als afsluiter een lekker kaasplankje en/of een zoet toetje van rood. zonder in details te treden, was dit een zeer aangename ervaring. En kort? nee, na +3uur die voorbij vlogen verlieten we tevreden dit etablissement. een pareltje van Nijmegen. Een echte aanrader voor fijnproevers.

Run, don’t walk here. Got lucky enough to score a last-minute reservation and I am forever grateful. The interior is a perfect combination of cozy and modern-chic. The service is top-notch and above all, the food is exquisite. Every dish was filled with so much flavor. We chose the 6-course meal, along with the wine-pairing and we could not have been happier. If you’re able to score a reservation, I wouldn’t miss a beat—easily the best restaurant in Nijmegen and certainly Michelin-level quality.

Genoten van een origineel, heerlijk 5-gangen diner met bijpassend wijnarrangement en bijzondere alcoholvrije drankjes per gang. Wat een smaaksensatie! Terzake kundige bediening, die ook de sfeer aan tafel perfect aanvoelt. Jammer (en ook niet meer dan dat) vond ik wel dat tweemaal de wijn al werd ingeschonken en we daarna nog vrij lang moesten wachten tot het gerecht werd geserveerd en dat het aanwezige grotere gezelschap ervoor zorgde dat het redelijk lawaaierig was in het restaurant, misschien doordat er weinig dempende materialen zijn in het restaurant.

Keuzes op de kaasplank mogen iets spannender, maar dat is persoonlijk. Fijne bediening en warm welkom. We komen graag weer terug.

I don't know what they would have to improve to get a Michelin star, because they deserve one. My group of 12 people was able to discover this again on 31/5/2024 with a perfect 5-course menu with the best wines and non-alcoholic drinks, seated in a private room that was ideally suited for this.

Perfect! We had a nice evening at the Portier. The staff was very friendly, professional and knew a lot about the selection of wines and the underlying choices. The combination between the selected wines and the different courses was also excellent. The restaurant is comfortable and cozy. From some places you can look into the kitchen to see how the food is prepared. We had the 6-course menu, which was (optionally) continuously supplemented with bread in between. In short: great!

I don't have enough superlatives to describe restaurant De Portier. The experience starts with the warm welcome. The temperature is good, the chairs are comfortable, enough space around the tables. The service by Simone and Francien is simply wonderful. Francien has been doing this for more than 40 years, but still with just as much dedication and enthusiasm. Savarijn used to be our favorite restaurant: it was also hers with Niek as a partner. The Altena was also great and the Grut unique in its kind. Now with De Portier she scores again, at absolute top level. The dishes are wonderfully light and complex (see the photos), they provide a constant taste variation with many ingredients, without it becoming too much; the flavors harmoniously reinforce each other in the experience without getting in each other's way. The wine pairing is actually a must: it is an adventurous journey through the Austrian vineyards, always in perfect harmony with the dishes. All in all, highly recommended for a special culinary evening!

A real taste experience with fantastic wines in a perfect ambiance!

Het eten is mooi op smaak met een fijne afwisseling van vlees 🥩 en vis 🐟. Ieder gerecht was weer genieten! Ook de grotere eter kan er prima terecht, want de portiegroottes zijn wat groter dan in een gemiddeld fine dining restaurant. Een dikke plus dus! De bediening is kundig, hartelijk en weet veel te vertellen over de gerechtjes en de wijnen 🍷 (die prima bij de gerechtjes pasten). Alle wijnen waren overigens van Europese komaf! 🇪🇺

Voor ons jubileum wilden we bij een chiquer restaurant eten en de Portier overtrof al onze verwachtingen. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en er hing een goede sfeer. Wat voor ons de avond afmaakte was de uitleg over de gerechten en vooral over het bijpassende wijnarrangement. Dit werd ons met veel humor en passie verteld door de eigenaresse. Ondanks dat wij wat jonger waren dan de meeste gasten werden wij serieus en met veel aandacht behandeld!

Wat een heerlijke smaken! Goede wijnkeuzes bij de gerechten. Vriendelijke bediening, lekker losjes maar wel heel kundig.

Wat een eet beleving bij de Portier. Met een 6 gangen diner worden alle smaakpapillen verwend. Dus van het eten valt eigenlijk niet meer te zeggen dan dat het top is. Ik wil echter wil een opmerking maken voor de drankjes. Als Bob ben je vaak veroordeeld tot Cola of bruis die eigenlijk beide helemaal niet passen bij eten van dit niveau. Daar hebben ze bij de Portier iets op gevonden, Mocktails heerlijke alcohol vrije drankjes die perfect bij de gang passen, er zelfs op afgestemd zijn. Na twee stuks was ik blij de Bob te zijn. Waarbij ik niks af wil doen aan de wijnkeuze maar de fantasie van de Mocktail ontwerpster heeft mijn hart gestolen. Ik keek naar de volgende al net zo uit als naar de volgende gang. En volgens mij waren mijn tafelgenoten die van wijn genoten toch wat jaloers. Denk dat we een volgende keer 4 Bobs hebben. Met dank voor de ervaring

Dit was de 3e keer dat we er gegeten hebben, alles is perfect. Alleen het verschil is nu dat je niet meer een ober voor de hele avond hebt, maar door verschillende obers wordt bediend. Voor mijn gevoel heb je dan wat minder informeel contact.

Fantastisches Essen mit Überraschungen, begleitet von exklusiven Weinen! Es war wieder einmal ein wunderbarer Abend, der durch eine sehr aufmerksame Bedienung begleitet wurde. Alle Gerichte werden genau erklärt, vorher wird nach Allergien oder Besonderheiten gefragt. Zu empfehlen ist auch, statt der Weinbegleitung, die Moctails zu nehmen, wenn man Auto fahren muss. Wat een feestje... Gisteravond genoten van een topavondje uit bij De Portier. Het warme welkom met de woorden "We gaan er een mooie avond van maken" was het begin van een geweldige ervaring. Werkelijk alles klopt! De ambiance, het kundige en supervriendelijk personeel, de bijzondere wijnen en natuurlijk de geweldige gerechten, ware kunstwerkjes. Complimenten ook voor de flexibiliteit van het personeel, ook dat werd door ons erg gewaardeerd. Wij komen hier zeker nog terug!

Eten bij De Portier is echt een aanrader. Het is de hele avond genieten van heerlijk eten, lekkere wijn en goede bediening. Het is natuurlijk niet goedkoop maar het na afloop voelt het wel als de moeite waard. Bediening zeer vriendelijk maar niet too much wat prettig is.
