Enjoyed a lovely meal. Friendly service. It was surprisingly empty early for a Thursday evening.

We had a delicious meal and enjoyed the comfortable seating. Gluten-free was easy for me (I don't have celiac disease). I walked there from the city center. It was also very nice after dinner.

Cozy and delicious food. Excellent. A good tip: order multiple appetizers and share them. The appetizers are perfect for sharing between three people.

Chance brought us to this lovely greek gem in Utrecht. We celebrated my friend’s bachelorette, and honestly had an amazing time. The food, the people and the vibe were one of a kind. It’s one of the memories I will hold for many years to come.

Very friendly atmosphere. Even when the kitchen is busy, the service is friendly. The dishes are all made from excellent ingredients and the portions are not small. As a hot appetizer, I ordered puff pastry pies with feta from the oven and leg of lamb with salad and rice. Price/quality is excellent. But it’s better to book in advance, since even on a weekday there may not be a free table. The restaurant was recommended by locals.

Absolutely amazing place, with great food and warm atmosphere. Don't forget to book a table!!! We were walking ~2.5km from our location and we were fully happy on arrival . Lamb (kotsi arni) was amazing, trapini (as a warm starter) was perfect, draft affligem blond beer was really good and fresh) and ouzo was really good, no chemistry and very tasty :) Will miss this place!

Food was good and tasty but not wow 8+. Sound technically it is very loud. where you can no longer hear your guests. And the people who smoke in front of the door and then smell the smells coming in is not really desirable. Let alone the draft when the door opens.

While looking for a new Greek restaurant, we ended up at Dikkertje on the Amsterdamsestraatweg. This restaurant has fully lived up to its good name. The restaurant itself is small, nice, and exudes Greece. Upon entering you will be warmly welcomed by the owner and the service is top-notch. The menu offers a lot of choice, and what we got on the table was very tasty, well seasoned and certainly not too little. Personally, I thought it was a shame that we got Heineken on tap, but it soon turned out that they also serve Hertog Jan from the bottle here. That made it perfect. Definitely worth a visit and nice that we have a permanent address if we fancy delicious authentic Greek food in Utrecht.

If you want to feel like you are in Greece, you should definitely go to Het Dikkerdje! This cozy, busy restaurant is buzzing with atmosphere and hospitality. Our evening started with a delicious Greek twist: as a starter we enjoyed perfectly prepared sardines and tender eggplant with cheese, straight from the oven. We couldn't choose the main course, so we went for the mixed grill - but without pork. The owner personally came by to tell us that this was unfortunately not possible, but he offered a delicious alternative with a smile: lamb chops and leg of lamb from the oven. Well, we didn't say no to that! Both the starters and desserts were delicious. The Fatty? A piece of Greece in your own country, with flavors to come back for!

We love coming here time and time again. The food is amazing, staff is very friendly and toilets are very clean. Can’t complain about anything! Highly recommended :).

Picked up here for the first time today and was seriously pleasantly surprised. Incredibly delicious moussaka and spiced tzatziki, definitely worth repeating. Everything neatly packaged and warm.

Here you eat REALLY Greek. Delicious squid as a starter. Often eaten in Greece but never seen on the menu in the Netherlands, except here. Although it is a bit of a drive, we will definitely come back here.

We were not asked to leave a review, but felt we had to - because of the great experience. We just wanted to eat at a Greek restaurant, and we ended up at Dikkertje. The service of the staff was above expectations, the food was really good, and the ambiance was great. The restaurant may not be in the city centre, but we really recommend to visit this place. Had a great time! P.s. The ‘verassingsmenu’ (surprise menu for 4+ persons) is very good, we recommend it.

Great Greek restaurant. The name might make you think it's not authentic Greek but that couldn't be further from the truth! A wonderful (family owned?) restaurant where you immediately taste the Greek atmosphere when you enter. Easily one of the best restaurants on the entire Amsterdamsestraatweg. The meat is of a quality like no other and it feels like you are really in Greece. I can especially recommend the gyros, bifteki and tzatziki! A great place to take children too. The prices are very acceptable especially for the quality of the food. I've been here several times and will definitely come back!

My first Favorite restaurant in The Netherlands, from first date in 2014 until now ~ the food is consistently delicious. And we always like to come here to celebrate our special events and always become our first choice when we want to treat our guests from overseas, and never disappointed.

Food was delicious, could use a little more flavor on the meat. Ordered takeaway and found the rice and fries to be a bit poor, even for my daughter for a €25 dish. Music could be a bit quieter in the restaurant for excellent service!

We ate well on the second day of Christmas, it was delicious, it was so much that we couldn't finish it, next time we'll have the fat one again, especially with our son, a good chef like Jorgos

Gezellig restaurantje. Druk en knus. Bediening is onervaren en niet oplettend. Spreken geen Nederlands. Op zich niet erg maar wij hadden nogal communicatie stoornis. Zelf in t Grieks lukte het niet. Eigenaar was druk in de keuken dus heeft dat niet opgemerkt. Ik denk dat het gewoon te druk was. Verder wel tervreden over de kwaliteit van het eten. Volgende keer maar doordeweeks een keer proberen. Prijs is prima.

We love Dikkertje. This restaurant is our neighborhood’s greatest pride. It’s old school, really authentic and cozy. In all honesty, I’m done with all those restaurants in Utrecht that try hiding their kitchen mediocrity with an overload of Instagram-friendly decorative sphere. I say this to point out that Dikkertje is completely the opposite of that nonsense. Their kitchen is serious and authentic (following my Greek friends), the decoration reflects the owners personal character and I love that honesty. Grilled octopus, haloumi, gyros, lamsbout stew, moussaka, and swordfish are our favorite dishes. Children menus are really nice, they include ice cream.

Absolute greek vibes, you feel like you are in some greek island having dinner at a local restaurant. The food is also very very good and in greek-caliber ammounts. Would 100% recommend.

Onverwacht even gaan eten en dan willen we graag ergens wat eten waar we nog niet geweest zijn. Wat dat betreft alles prima. We hielden het eenvoudig en hebben de mixed grill genomen. Erg goed vlees. Goed gegrild en lekker mals. Ook de wat grovere Griekse salade erbij was top. We houden ervan. Prima voor even wat makkelijks eten. We komen zeker een keer terug om wat anders van de kaart te proberen. Voor wat betreft de sfeer. Het is wat authentiek allemaal en heeft wat huiselijks. Maar wel tikkie gedateerd. Zolang het eten goed is geen probleem 😉.

Wij zijn erg kieskeurig eters. Ondanks dat, TOP. Dit is hoe grieks eten overal zou moeten smaken.

Lekker Grieks eten! Aardige bediening, eigenaar heel gastvrij en ook super aardig!!

Als je echt eens goed en lekker Grieks wilt eten, moet je naar het Dikkertje, ook het verrassing menu met allerlei proeverijen is echt aan te raden ! Lamsbout zo mals dat het vlees er vanaf valt en zeer smaakvol.
