Restaurant Het Oude Veerhuis in Wijk 01 Ammerzoden

Wanted to eat there with my mate but the service kept forgetting us, drinks took a long time, getting the menu and taking orders took too long. When paying, asking for the bill, getting the receipt took a long time, we wanted to pay but she had to go back to the pin machine, usually you take the pin device with the receipt.

The food was good, and the staff was friendly. It was very busy. Upon arrival, we had to wait for an employee, who would arrive shortly. Half an hour later, still no menu. We won't be going back. If you want to go, go when it's quiet. It might be quicker that way.

Today we moored our boat at the Oude Veerhuis jetty for lunch with our friends. As usual, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful! The service was young but professional. We'll definitely be back.

Today we had a lovely boat trip. Afterwards we ate fish on the Maas. There were a number of new items such as the salmon ceviche and prawns pil pil, both delicious. The staff could also tell us a lot about the wines and the area. Highly recommended!

We had the fish at the Maas, very scanty in portion (one prawn, one scallop, one oyster) and really substandard in quality. For example, the lobster was not fresh. You better skip the shrimp croquette for €9,- extra, no shrimp found (ground I think). For the hefty price there are enough better restaurants. Service was fine, clearly a bit inexperienced but that is of course allowed.

51 euros for a 'large' North Sea sole is not cheap. Was also just a normal sole. Otherwise tasty.

The food was very good, especially the lobster and fish dishes. The staff was also very friendly. The disadvantage is the poor acoustics. Our group (5 people) could barely hear each other. We also often had to wait a long time, we spent almost 4 hours in the restaurant for 3 courses.

We had dinner with 6 people. First of all, the acoustics were very bad... what a blast. Service was very friendly. The food was also very good....but with 6 people 1 bowl of lettuce, potatoes and fries is very meager. We also had to wait a long time for our main course: an hour and a half. It was as if we didn't exist. At the round table behind us, the service was moving like flies around a pile of shit. That was very noticeable. We always had to ask for drinks, etc. because it was not that busy at our table. No, we won't be coming back here anytime soon.

On the advice of acquaintances we went to eat at the Oude Veerhuis. Upon arrival on Sunday evening, we were very surprised by the many cars parked around and near the restaurant. Upon entering, the full halls were immediately noticeable. Cozy and stylishly furnished. The welcome was very friendly and after accepting our coats we were guided to a beautifully set table with a plush sofa and a nice soft chair. They have a nice and extensive menu. This restaurant is certainly a treat for fish lovers. Very friendly staff and the service was smooth but relaxed at the same time. The tournedos and tuna were perfectly cooked and served on beautifully decorated plates. Side dishes were served in small portions (to avoid waste). But we kept a close eye on whether anything ran out and then quickly replenished it. The dessert was also beautifully prepared and very tasty. If we had to say something negative, it certainly wouldn't be about the dishes and the staff. What immediately struck us upon entering was the acoustics. Especially because of the full halls with enthusiastic audiences, I can imagine that with a large group at the table, you cannot always hear each other well. I know from experience that an acoustic ceiling works wonders. We also missed the table linen. However, there were large, tightly ironed napkins ready for us. We will definitely come back again, but in the summer so that we can enjoy the beautiful view of the Maas.

Long time seafood restaurant on the water (Maas river). Not cheap but delicious fresh seafood with lots of choices. It was very crowded so took a while to eat but they kept bringing stuff

Gisteravond heb ik met een paar vriendinen in het restaurant gegeten. We gingen vanwege de recensies en we werden niet teleurgesteld. Het eten was heerlijk, met een uitstekende presentatie en in voldoende hoeveelheid. Onberispelijke service, aandacht en vriendelijkheid van het personeel. Absoluut een aanrader.

We waren speciaal naar Ammerzoden gereden voor een bezoek aan een winkel: Eliassen wanddecoratie (een aanrader!). Gelet op het tijdstip zochten we een goede lunchplek in Ammerzoden. Welnu, die hadden we gevonden: Het Oude Veerhuis. Vriendelijke bediening , mooi gelegen en uitzicht op de Maas. We hebben de specialiteit van het huis genomen: Vis aan de Maas. Wow, wat was dat geweldig. Een fantastisch, rijkgevulde Fruits de Mer. Verse vis en schaaldieren met o.a. gegratineerde oesters. Ik kan het iedereen aanraden: heerlijk!

Everything is perfect. The food is delicious, the scallops, bisque, North Sea sole; to die for. Friendly staff with perfect timing in terms of service. The location is also very beautiful; You always have a beautiful view both inside and on the terrace. Extra plus: there is no echo, so even if the restaurant is full(er) you can still hear each other well in a normal tone. I can't wait until next time!

After a visit to Ammersoyen Castle, the Koetshuis turned out to be closed for lunch. The Oude Veerhuis turned out to be an excellent alternative. A fresh, open design with a wide view over the Maas. I opted for a carpaccio sandwich and it was perfectly fine. The service was attentive and accurate.

Aus den Panoramafenstern gibt es einen schönen Ausblick auf die Maas. Da wollten wir unbedingt was vom Fisch probieren und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Küche hier ist traditionell, beinahe altmodisch, dabei ist die Qualität der Fischgerichte hervorragend. Die Bedienung schien beim vollen Haus etwas überfordert zu sein.

A nice terrace with a view of the Maas where boats regularly sail past. When there are oysters on the menu I become happy. This is also the case here at the Oude Veerhuis. The decision was quickly made that a second portion would replace my dessert. But their bisque in particular is a reason to visit them again soon. We scheduled that immediately. See you soon.

Rustig op plaats wijzing gewacht. Vriendelijk personeel. Na drank keuze een redelijk uitgebreide menukaart. Het viel ons meteen op dat de recepten en drankjes betaalbaar waren. Heerlijke soep en uitsmijters gegeten Schoon sanitair. Een hele ruime en mooie gelegenheid met buiten terras en binnen ruimte.

Enjoyed a starter of smoked salmon and eel followed by delicious fish dishes such as sole menière and tiger prawns in a creamy paste. The dry white house wine (chardonnay) had a nice taste. A nice relaxed atmosphere and very pleasant and correct service.

Nice restaurant with tasty food. Mainly focus on seafood, which is clearly reflected in their fish on the mesh seafood dish. Can be ordered per 2 people for 50 pp. I would especially recommend the bisque here. Also ate a Dame Blanche which was nothing special Service is fine. The restaurant is beautiful, the interior is a bit dated and I wonder whether you should place the lobster tank directly at the entrance. That is no longer completely contemporary. Price-wise it was OK.

Had a delicious meal at the old Veerhuis Beautiful location on the water and ample parking behind the restaurant and on the dike. We had made a reservation at 6:00 PM. We were taken to our table by friendly staff. And a beautiful table with a view over the water and harbor. Chose a carpaccio as a starter and received a basket of bread and some butter. We opted for a via aan de Maas as a main course. Order a seafood dish for at least 2 people. This one was really delicious. This also included a bisque which we ate as an entree. Finally we finished the bisque, with delicious dishes such as lobster, scallops and tuna. Fries and salad were ordered separately. Finally concluded with a port and a dessert of 3 mini dishes. Easy when you can't choose. After paying the bill - €163.70 - we returned home around 9:00 PM. 2 carpaccio €29,- 2 persons via aan de maas €99,- 2 red wine €13,- 2 Chaudfontaine red €5.50- 1 port (10 years old) €8.25- 1 trio dessert €8.95- To be repeated!

Good and semi formal at the marina on the Maas. Focuses on lobster and fish dishes. For lunch we had a lobster soup and it included various things such as bread with spread and we had a good white wine that was not too dry. Service casual, attentive and correct. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

Lovely restaurant to go to. Mondays open (which is nice because lots of restaurants in the area are closed in the Mondays) Lots of fresh fish on the menu but also meat available. Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Excellent food and good value for money. Beautiful wine card. Definitely one to remember.
