Het eten was heel verfijnd en smaakvol. De bediening super vriendelijk. Het terras buiten is zeer gezellig. Een echte aanrader.

We went for drinks for two on Friday afternoon. Beer, wine, bitterballen (Dutch meatballs), and Parma ham on the terrace. We received a friendly welcome and were shown to a table, even though we hadn't made a reservation. The service was attentive and responsive, and we were well looked after. The terrace is spacious and has a cozy feel. We thought the price for the snack platter (Parma ham with olives) was a bit steep, but that's okay. There were plenty of parking spaces at the time. All in all, it was a pleasant and relaxing experience; I think you could easily enjoy a nice dinner here as well.

We dined at Het Hooihuis for the second time, this time for lunch, and again we weren't disappointed. We opted for the set menu again, and it was truly delicious. The presentation of the dishes was elegant and stylish, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. The service also deserves praise: warm, professional, and with a pleasant touch of humor. In short, Het Hooihuis remains our go-to place for a delicious and enjoyable meal in Roosendaal. Highly recommended!

Today, on the occasion of Rosemarie's birthday, my wife made a reservation at the Hooihuis. This was indicated on the reservation form under comments. I had made a reservation online, and could only choose the 12:00 option. Upon arrival, the entire place was empty until, as far as I could see afterwards, at least 14:00. It took about 20 minutes for the order to be taken. But the owner/manager explained the reservation system. But we couldn't really understand it. The lunch was delicious. Everything around it, I think of being present for my wife's birthday. Ice in the drink, which was clearly indicated as not possible, and the long wait between courses, made it not what we expected. When leaving, we reported this, received an apology with a nice gesture: you may/must leave and I don't want to see your payment card. So we will definitely go back for a promised second chance and on to the 5 stars. We see it as a one-off incident.

Lovely summer day and indeed, a fantastic location 150 meters from the hotel (coincidentally). Large selection of small dishes that you can share or order several of. Everything was fresh and very well prepared. I had a main course, lamb cooked to perfection with fresh peas. An absolute must

We unexpectedly had lunch here and they only had a table for 1 hour. That was no problem for either party, the food was brought quickly. Exactly after that hour we were kindly asked, even though there were still enough free places at that time, to get up. We were allowed to sit in the lounge corner. When we arrived there, dessert was ordered in a reasonable time, for which we then had to wait half an hour. My dessert included limoncello as an option, but they did not ask if I wanted it. When I spoke to an employee about it, she said she would ask and then never returned. We would also have liked to have a drink, but they did not ask about that either. And we did not really have the opportunity to speak to anyone about it (they did not even come near us) despite the warm weather. We walked to the cash register ourselves to pay. And we made the above-mentioned negative points known, but nothing was really done about it. (For example, offer a drink on the house, still offer limoncello, etc.). The food is good but the after-sales service is very poor, and that is why it is actually too expensive (spending €73 (could have been more)) and then being treated like that is not nice.

The atmosphere is good. We had 2 sourdough salmon sandwiches. The salmon was very tasty but the taste was very sour. Which made the taste of the salmon disappear a bit. In addition, I am not a big eater but I was still hungry after the 2 sandwiches. I thought that was a shame and therefore quite expensive. Furthermore, the service and the atmosphere were good. Maybe we just ordered the wrong sandwiches in terms of taste.

This restaurant is a fantastic discovery. The "small dishes" are real culinary highlights. Also a nice wine list. And a nice terrace. A great experience. Would recommend, absolutely!

Today we went shopping in Rosada and we were looking for something to eat. We found this on the internet. This was delicious, such a beautiful shop, beautiful interior, very friendly staff and fast service and what a delicious meal we had. Our compliments to the chef! Surprising flavours, nicely combined. We also chose the 4-course menu. Too bad the shop is so far from our house because otherwise this would definitely have become one of our regular addresses. It looks chic and atmospheric with lots of plants. The food is served very nicely and tastes delicious! The staff is very friendly and although it is not next to the highway it is recommended to go there if you are on the road.

Very surprising menu with unique possibilities to compose dishes according to your own taste/preference. The dishes are very tasty and contemporary layout. In addition, the interior is spacious with a quiet noise level. Service provides the right information and good advice. Parking can be a problem but there are large free parking spaces right next to it.

Yes what a surprise this address was, very well organized here! Everything runs smoothly, service is good and fast and most importantly... super friendly. Voor de tweede keer gingen we eten bij Het Hooihuis, ditmaal voor de lunch, en opnieuw werden we niet teleurgesteld. We kozen opnieuw voor het menu en het was werkelijk om duimen en vingers bij af te likken. De presentatie van de gerechten was verzorgd en stijlvol, en de smaken zaten helemaal goed. Ook de bediening verdient een pluim: hartelijk, professioneel en met een aangename vleugje humor. Kortom, Het Hooihuis blijft voor ons dé place to be voor een lekker en gezellig etentje in Roosendaal. Aanrader!

Beautiful restaurant, both inside and out. Nice atmosphere and ambiance, and it was quite busy for a Friday afternoon. We came for lunch and what struck us was the extremely friendly and enthusiastic service. Food was tasty, the cocktails were also very good. We do think this restaurant is quite expensive (€80 for 2 people lunch), but we will definitely come back.

Reserved lunch at the Hooihuis for 7 adults and 5 children for today, Easter Monday. The "Easter" advertisement stated that we would eat on the terrace in the sun if the weather was nice, and the sun was certainly there, the weather was beautiful, but at the reception at 1:30 PM they told us that it might rain in an hour, according to the rain radar ?? I also looked at the rain radar, and it showed that it might not start raining until around 6:30 PM. I started a discussion about this and shortly afterwards I think the owner or manager approached me in a rather aggressive tone!! He thought I shouldn't complain about that, I totally disagree, I left it that way so as not to spoil the atmosphere any further, but I feel screwed by this. We finally left around 4:00 PM while the weather was still beautiful outside! The quality of the food was also mediocre and nothing special, the fries with the main course were really rubbish. For me it will be the very last time that I will make a reservation at Het Hooihuis.

Heerlijke gerechtjes. Genoeg keuze al zou er wat meer keuze in alcoholvrij (bier) mogen zijn. Vriendelijke bediening die constant in de weer zijn. Goed op elkaar ingespeeld met hoge service naar de klant. Gezellige, warme inrichting. Goed toeven daar!

Het Hooihuis is a particularly pleasant restaurant to enjoy the food and hospitality. The interior is beautiful, but it is especially pleasant to sit outside when the weather is nice. Pay attention to the mussel days, where you can enjoy differently prepared Zeeland mussels.

A beautiful restaurant inside and out. The service is very friendly. It took a while before they came to take the order and also before the food was ready. But it was worth it. We took the club sandwich classic and the club roast beef. Both are served with half an egg on top. They are richly topped and taste delicious. The home-made fries are also very tasty. We will definitely come back to have lunch on the terrace when the weather is good.

It is a spacious restaurant with excellent seating areas, spaced well enough apart. The service is nice. My partner ordered spicy chicken and didn't find it spicy at all, so he had to add salt and pepper to it to make it tasty. It was also a whole chicken, didn't expect this and didn't really like it, because he doesn't like to chew at all. My duck was a bit too raw and I was not asked in advance how I wanted it cooked. The plates looked nicely laid out. The side dishes tasted very tasty and very special. The desserts were also very tasty.

Great restaurant, we had Christmas dinner here in the tipi tent. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was of course also very pleasant. So far one of the best restaurants I have eaten at!

We waren wezen shoppen bij het Designer Outlet in Roosendaal. Daar zijn wel wat eetgelegenheden maar die zijn echt bedroevend van kwaliteit... Vandaar dat we iets verder zijn gaan zoeken en bij het Hooihuis terecht zijn gekomen welke er eigenlijk recht naast ligt. Het pand ligt eigenlijk op een beetje een lelijke locatie, maar van binnen is het pand uitermate sfeervol. In het midden van de ruimte waar we komen te zitten staat een soort van mega open haard welke voor sfeer en warmte zorgt. We beginnen met een lekker bakje koffie waarbij we een vers koekje mogen kiezen en we de keuze hebben uit een chocolate chip cookie & een boterkoek met speculaas. Omdat we niet kunnen kiezen krijgen we er van allebei een en daarmee is de toon gelijk een beetje gezet: De zwarte brigade hier is uitermate vriendelijk, correct, oplettend & attent! Hier zouden ze bji andere zaken nog wel eens een voorbeeld aan kunnen nemen. Al bladerend door het menu overvalt ons wel een beetje keuzestress: Nemen we kleine hapjes, gaan we voor een lunchgerecht? Of voor de 4 gangen? De hoofdgerechten zien er ook al geweldig uit. Uiteindelijk wordt het een compromis: We nemen een "klein gerecht" als voorgerecht en daarbij een hoofdgerecht. Dit beperkte de keuzestress uiteindelijk een beetje. Als "voorgerecht" namen we de zacht gegaarde buikspek met appel & kerrie. Heel erg lekker! Super super mals buikspek. En een lekker zuurtje van Amsterdamse uitjes. Heerlijk. Daarnaast namen we een Tournedos Rossini met eendenlever. Lekkere Madeira jus en in het deeg liggen gebakken sjalotjes in balsamico. Wauw. En de romige/hartige eendenlever. Zalig! Als eerste hoofdgerecht krijgen we rosé gebraden eendenborst met 5 spices, taartje van pompoen en bataat, crème van bospeen, gevogeltejus met steranijs en kumquat. De eend is perfect gegaard en gaat heerlijk samen met de aardse smaken van de peen/pompoen & bataat. De grootste held op het bord is wel de saus: echt geweldig. Vrouwlief koost voor de pikante kip, ofwel een Franse vrije uitloop coquelette (klein haantje) met gember, hoisinsaus, rode peper, sesamolie, knoflook, honing en sojasaus. Geserveerd met een garnituur van seizoensgroenten en roseval-aardappeltjes. Dit was echt een smaakexplosie. De kip is sous-vide gegaard dus supermals. Maar de saus/lak waarmee deze kip bedekt was... Top! Verder kregen we hierbij nog frietjes geserveerd (extra bijbetalen) en deze waren prima in orde. Afsluitend nog beide een bakje koffie genomen waarbij we nog een vers koekje mochten kiezen en hierna zijn we voldaan vertrokken. De eerstvolgende keer dat we naar Rosada gaan, wordt dit wel onze go-to plek om een hapje te gaan eten. Wat een fijne sfeer, vriendelijke mensen en lekker eten. En: Ondanks dat de zaak vol zat, kan je op normaal/zacht niveau praten met elkaar. De akoestiek is hier tiptop in orde. En nogmaals even een dik compliment voor het personeel!

Aangename zaak om te tafelen. Heerlijk knus ingericht. Wij als stel kwamen direct in een romantische sfeer. We werden heel vriendelijk onthaald en ook de rest van de avond was het personeel zeer attent, behulpzaam en zorgzaam. We namen het menu en dat stelde ons zeker niet teleur. Heerlijke gerechten met mooie smaakcombinaties en een streling voor het oog. We hadden de zalm tataki, de vissoup, het hert voor mij en de portobello steak voor mijn man. Als dessert de kaasjes waarbij we van de kaart mochten kiezen. Aan ieder gercht was er iets origineels waaraan we niet gedacht hadden. Zeer aangenaam verrast dus. De prijs was eerlijk al is de drank aan de dure kant. Wel ook zo fijn dat je grote frisdranken kan bestellen. We komen zeker terug om ook eens een sharing avond te doen.

Food takes some time but is high quality. Prices are ok and there is plenty of parkspace close by because further away is the big outdoor mall.

Quiet atmosphere, decisive and fit staff, friendly, caring and committed staff. Small desserts that are not just lots and lots of sweetness, taste experiences. No music trying to drown out the talking. Well-kept environment. Had a nice evening with delicious food. We laughed at the large amount of carrots when we expected a more refined version when we heard the word carrot salad. Maybe you should call that grilled carrots. If the fish had been allowed a little longer, it would probably have been easier to release from the bone. The chardonnay was in a beautiful glass but was gone after two sips. When pouring it into the water glass, it turned out to be very little. Donate less than normal catering. Regardless, we had a very nice evening!

Thank you for a great evening, as always. From the delicious oysters, the foi gras, through the pork belly, mussels and tuna to the original cheeses. Not to forget the incomparable 'walking whiskey map' that provides a new taste every time - do yourself a favor and ask for it and forget about the map! We no longer live in the area, but it still feels like coming home every time. Until next time!

Great restaurant, food and service in the top end. The quality are in top. The service are friendly, and since we were non Dutch speeking, they had a English menu ready. Had a dish with oven backed cod, wow what a taste, and the fish was so delicious. This is the place to go if you want quality and good service. Had a second visit later on this week, wow again. We had booked table for 3, and again friendly welcome, and the staff remembered us from earlier. The food was excellent again, and the staff was friendly even as they were quite busy. If I visit the city again, I will for sure come back again.

Update: What a delicious meal we had and what a pleasant atmosphere thanks to the service. I will highly recommend t Hooihuis again! 3 years ago: Impersonal service, focused on cash register, cash register, cash register, and we visit many different terraces: Too bad, but we didn't have a permanent host or hostess. It was busy again, but we had made a reservation. But without a host or hostess we just hung around: asking and shouting if we could get something to drink and waiting a long time. By the way, you pay a high price: that doesn't matter, but you do want to be served at your beck and call. This is already the 3rd bad experience: the first was a tough steak and the second was a small akela hostess who wondered what we were doing. In short, Het Hooihuis cannot always meet the requested prices. Too bad because if you invite your children to dinner, the above should not be an issue. And this is just the beginning of the season. Shame.
