Restaurant Koyo in Centrum

I went out for dinner at Koyo last night. I thought the welcome upon arrival was awful. They're not exactly customer-friendly. I also didn't think the food was very good. The sushi rice was way too sticky and too much. No wonder the place wasn't even full on a Friday night. Such a shame. I'll definitely never go back.

I'll never eat here again. We went there last week. It's a real shame; the sushi tasted absolutely awful 🤢, cold, sweet, and the rice wasn't good either, very sticky. I did point it out, but unfortunately, they didn't do anything about it. We were told: "tastes differ." It's incredibly frustrating; you pay €35 per person for terrible food. So, never again.

The reception was very unfriendly and the staff were difficult to understand (especially the young men, whose Dutch was very poor and whispered, making it almost impossible to understand!). Only 4 or 5 tables were occupied, so there wasn't much atmosphere. The sushi wasn't very good, with rolls that were far too large and thick slices of rice. The fried dishes were all served without sauces, while the photos showed everything was supposed to have sauce. The staff was also simply unfriendly and unfriendly. In short, unfortunately, it was too expensive for what you get.

Too bad. Too bad it has to be this way. Rice as a plaque, not a single grain to be seen in your sushi. They also only know 1 type of sauce, which makes many dishes taste the same. Only the structure changes per dish. I also found the service bad, we were with 6 people, and every round we got 35 dishes on the table. Without them saying what is what. A bit of ZZU protocol. Find out for yourself. Not that they don't want to? But more because some staff members don't speak Dutch. I don't think that's acceptable in a restaurant. Especially if you also have allergies. Only 1 young lady did her best, which is why I gave a 3☆ for service. But that is also purely because of that lady. But the quality has deteriorated a lot. Are you in doubt and do you read reviews to be persuaded, skip this place and go to tanuki. A bit more expensive, but you can taste and experience that too. I'd rather have good sushi than this frozen sushi. And what was most embarrassing, and what made me take the time to write this review, is that my brother was literally ridiculed by the chef. Every time he had to cough, the OR copied him. Sorry, but he is mentally challenged. Immediate dismissal would be better. The quality of this frozen food will probably improve, and the customers will keep coming back. I hope for his sake that I don't run into him on the street.

Fine for an average Sushi all you can eat.

Great sushi! The sushi chef remembers my favourite sushi and sends it to the table before we have put in our first order. Like using the tablet to order. Highly recommended! Koyo has just redecorated and is an even nicer place to be now. Atmosphere is better than ever!

Thuis sushi besteld en ontvangen. Vergeleken met een jaar geleden is de kwaliteit, smaak en afwerking echt minder geworden. Maand of 2 geleden soep en een simpel gerecht besteld. Dit beiden smaakte ontzettend zout.

On Valentine's Day we had made a reservation at 8:00 PM, but when we entered the restaurant was completely full of other people who had also made reservations. At the reception you saw the reservation lists which showed that they had accepted many extra reservations (there was writing around/under the table). We couldn't sit down until 9:00 PM when it turned out that all the iPads were empty, so we were given a piece of paper that no one came to pick up. Finally at half past nine we got special sushi on the house, which had clearly been left over from other guests (this could be seen because the plates on which you normally get the special sushi are much smaller and then you only get 1 roll, this time we get a plate full of random sushi that you normally get when you order, and it could be seen that it had been sitting there for a while). And to make matters worse, we just had to pay the full price, there was not even a discount or a drink on the house to make up for it. Thanks for ruining my Valentine's Day!

Opposite the Oss railway station, there is a modern Oriental Restaurant; -painted white-come; where the map describes numerous menus and makes visible photos. Spacious seating areas and friendly staff, of few words. Here's the thing: the dishes; well and creatively served.

Sushi rice was a solid substance, not tasty.

I've eaten here a couple of times, but yesterday was the worst experience. We had to wait half an hour for each round of sushi to arrive and 3 out of 5 rounds we were able to order had either a missing piece of sushi or the wrong sushi. The icing on the cake was that we had to wait over 30 minutes for 2 scoops of ice cream. The service was also very poor. They put the dishes on the table without saying anything, no eye contact, no smile. I understand that it was very busy, but I find it unacceptable that we had to go home not quite full after sitting in the AYCE restaurant for 2.5 hours and paying almost €100. I don't think I'll be coming back here.

Wasn't that great...especially the sushi was dry. Hot dishes were lukewarm. If you ask for cutlery, they will bring it after an hour! And they bring many wrong and unordered dishes

Sushi is really not tasty. I've been here a few times before and it was better...now it's sticky rice, just like a ball of dough. Sushi with fried prawn Ice cold. Most "warm" dishes are not properly warm. Tough prawns on skewers. Returned dish a few times. There was no response to our complaint at all. Too bad... this was the last time for us.

In our opinion, Koyo is the best sushi restaurant in Oss. Hardworking people, the food is tasty and served quickly. Went for Christmas and we received 2 delicious bottles of wine during checkout. We keep coming back!

Was goed! Veel keus. Alles op smaak. Bediening top en vriendelijk. Zeker aanrader en gaan er zeker vaker heen. Ook gezellig dat er ronde tafels zijn.

Our first time Koyo but unfortunately also our last. Upon arrival we received a special sushi which we thought was very thoughtful. The special sushi was extremely cold and you could tell that it was not fresh. After that we started placing our first orders and we were not very enthusiastic about this. The sushi rice was very wet and sticky and the amount of sushi rice was also a bit on the large side. It also all looked quite pale in color. With one sushi you noticed that it was fresh while the other seemed to have come straight from the refrigerator. Then we tried some meat and deep-fried dishes, but unfortunately we were not enthusiastic about this either. The fried dishes were so well done that the fat dripped into your mouth and the meat was very dry. What we did see as positive was that the amount of sauce remained limited. In other restaurants they can go too far in this way. The desserts made up for it somewhat. There is not much negative to say about the service. They all worked super hard and were super friendly. Too bad that not everyone understood what was said and we thought that they came to take the empty dishes from the table a little too quickly (well before the new round came and while we were still eating from the current rounds) Under the guise of "tastes differ". Unfortunately not a second time for us.

First time we ate here. We had a performance in the Lievekamp theater on the agenda in the evening, so we wanted to eat somewhere first. And that's why we chose Koyo. Were received with a platter of sushi. All dishes ordered were served quite quickly. Order by a tablet was quite easy. Ordering extra ginger or chili sauce was also a no-brainer. All dishes ordered were of good quality and the presentation was just fine. This is reason enough for us to say that this is highly recommended.

Didn't receive food or received it very late. We waited more than 1.5 hours for 1 dish and when we asked for the boss it took half an hour for her to come. Food that we received far too late regularly arrived cold. When we spoke to staff about this, they were not understanding or friendly.

Went to Koyo restaurant for the first time and it tasted delicious. Normally we usually go to Miru, but everything tastes much better here. From now on we will go to Koyo restaurant.

Lots of choice in sushi. Sushi is also more than excellent in terms of quality. Located next to the station, which can be ideal for people. Friendly service and you don't have to wait too long for your food.

Very variable quality. Last time it was so wonderful that we couldn't wait to come again and tonight it was a big disappointment. Lots of dry sticky rice with little content. And what was inside was often very dry. To compensate for that, a fair amount of sauce was poured over it. When paying, the chef cheered us from the kitchen with his glass of wine. Maybe that's the cause. Really sorry we went. The service is good, everything comes quickly. And you get a changing surprise sushi upon arrival, which is also nice.

Chicken was not prepared properly & I knew that the next day 🤮🤢 I contracted salmonella because of this.

No fresh sushi. Chicken was undercooked. Gave feedback to the owner but she did not take it very well. Too bad I had high expectations because of the reviews, but unfortunately I was very disappointed.

Was there with a nice group, but the food they had was very mediocre, you also had to ask a lot. Usually a tomato soup is very tasty, this one was tasteless. Maybe it's totally great if you like sushi. In any case, I didn't let the mediocre food ruin my pleasant evening. But if I wouldn't go there again, I would rather go to Mister Panda or Het Zusje in Nijmegen.

Fresh sushi with a smile! There is a wide choice of sushi in Oss, but Koyo distinguishes itself by offering a truly fresh product. All you can eat or from the menu offers the opportunity to enjoy Sushi, Grill or Chinese dishes in different ways. The sushi is freshly prepared by the chef and specific wishes are taken into account without any problem. The menu is extensive and at all you can eat you order via a tablet. This gives peace at the table because the wait staff only comes to the table to serve. Parking seems difficult, but Koyo has also thought of this. Parking is free at the Q-park P+R at Oss Station on the other side of the tracks, a 2-minute walk from the restaurant. This also makes the restaurant easily accessible by public transport.

Much of the food arrived late tonight (Saturday) or was cold or did not arrive at all. To top it all off, food arrived while we were putting on our coats and had already paid for it 15 minutes ago. Waiting 20 minutes for a dish, asking 5 times where the drink order is. Tasteless edamame beans and cold. More dishes arrived cold or we received something we had not ordered. The telephone constantly ringing loudly behind the bar, a lot of noise and waitresses who laugh when you give feedback, but I don't think they understand what you are saying. Too bad, no more Koyo for us for the time being.

Ordered sushi here for the first time today. Delivery was on time (15 minutes early, but that's okay with sushi). So excellent service. Unfortunately, I am less positive about the food... We found the quality to be really disappointing. Sushi was tough, we felt it had been made a long time in advance and not fresh. We didn't eat it all because we really didn't like it unfortunately. More than enough soy sauce, wasabi, chopsticks, etc. But we wouldn't order from here again.

Voor het eerst bij koyo wezen eten wat smaakte het lekker normaal gaan we meestal naar miru ook in Oss maar bij koyo is er veel meer keuze je besteld ook via een tablet zoals bij miru

Had dinner there yesterday, when we made the reservation it was already stated that there was 1 pregnant woman. Once there I asked how they do it with pregnant women. However, this had to be asked, a little later the waitress came back with anything raw you are not allowed to eat (really?? A pregnant person doesn't know that......). When asked about the fish eggs, which are literally sprinkled all over the sushi, how to indicate that they do not want it because of the pregnancy. You never wonder what kind of answer you get, 'you'll just have to scrape that off yourself'. At most sushi restaurants, if you are pregnant or if you have an allergy, you will receive a separate tablet or you can mention that they can then prepare the food correctly according to your wishes, but at Koyo they don't even bother.

One of the better sushi restaurants, it has now become our regular sushi place. Always fresh and delicious food with friendly staff!

Delicious sushi and poke bowls! You can taste that it is all very fresh, even the wasabi is really very fresh and tastes homemade (I don't know if that is the case). We regularly get take-out from here, haven't eaten there yet but will soon. It was planned for Valentine's Day but it was full then, yes I understand that! Staff is super friendly and funny too. Until next time, you really make the tastiest and freshest sushi!

Very good restaurant if you like Japanese cuisine.

It is nothing more than an average Sushi/grill restaurant. Based on the reviews I expected more. When we arrived, the prawn crackers and sauces were already on the table. How long? What kind of sauces? No idea, we weren't told. Ordered tea to warm up, received a small jug with a tea bag in it. Fine, until the bill was over 6 euros. How much is a tea bag? Few cents? The food was fine, but no better than other restaurants in the area. No reason for us to go back.

Het was al weer een paar maanden geleden dat wij hier gegeten hadden. Het restaurant is een stuk gezelliger geworden, er is duidelijk geïnvesteerd in de aankleding. Ook de menukaart is vernieuwd met bijzondere sushi. De kwaliteit is echter ver gedaald. De rijst is papperig, de zalm soms onherkenbaar, de sushi was niet lekker. Dus op naar de warme gerechten dan maar. De fou Yong hai heeft een hele dikke rode zure brei over het ei, dus ook daar geen succes. De kipspiesjes waren wel echt geweldig. Maar je komt toch eigenlijk voor de sushi....

Not a pleasant experience at Koyo due to an absurd rule: mandatory ordering drinks upon consumption. There is of course a high profit margin on drinks within the catering industry and I am not just talking about alcohol but also about water, tea, etc. That is also logical because with tap water you pay 5 euros for or a pot of tea for 8 euros here. Koyo, they earn quite a lot. But to get angry when a customer has no desire to drink and to oblige this while the customer already pays €35 per person, isn't that underhanded on the part of the catering establishment and the owner? Very strange, no more Koyo for us.

Great service, pretty good food for an all-you-can eat.

In my opinion the best place to eat sushi in Oss! The food itself tastes delicious, you can tell that it is prepared with passion. There is a wide choice, I once ate here with someone who didn't like fish, even he had a wonderful evening. The staff is extremely friendly and they pay attention to the guest. The price is what you can expect nowadays from an all-you-can-eat concept. Collection/delivery is also well arranged here. Compared to Miru in Oss you will find broadly the same menu here, but in my opinion the quality is better and the atmosphere is much more pleasant. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff, came to pick up food. Nicely helped. The food was extremely tasty and unique. Had a lot left over and the prices were not overly high.

Food was OK, but service not so good... The girls are doing their best, that's not the problem. In addition to receiving sushi that had not been ordered, we did not receive our drinks that had been ordered for a round, but were receipted. Then had discussions with the owner(?) 3 times. As if we were lying, that's really not done. Why discuss this at all? .. for them it's only 3 drinks that they didn't give, for us the reason to go to another tent in Oss next time.

I didn't like Koyo. Choice is limited because almost everything is prepared in the same sauce. I found the meat to be a bit tough. You have to wait a long time for the dishes you order. The staff varies, some are super friendly, others are very impersonal. The restaurant looked fine. Won't be going here again though.

Terrible service experience. Ordered noodles and a surprise box worth €30. The noodles were missing and the surprise box consisted of 1 meager sushi roll. I kindly called to say that I was disappointed with my order, to which the staff replied that I was not getting noodles because I would have to order them separately. However, this is not indicated anywhere on the site. Very disappointed with the service as I am a regular customer and always enjoyed coming there. Unfortunately, they won't see me again.

Best sushi in Oss. And the best tepanyaki in Oss. Everything was just great. Service super attentive, exit ticket from the P+R at the station. I was a bit tired of the all you can eat concept, but this literally and figuratively left me wanting more.

Due to the size of the order, our order would be delivered free of charge. According to the delivery person, that was an error on the site. We had to pay him another €6. I first reported this to Koyo by email, as I have not received a response to this review after 2 weeks. The food tasted good, but it still had an unpleasant aftertaste. Pity!

Deception via the website. Complaints are not resolved. Please note that if you order the €75 surprise box via the website, there is no indication of what you will receive and you will be misled. We order this box for €75 and get very little and not tasty sushi. (But that taste is personal of course) I also ordered many other products, totaling more than €150. We are now here with 8 people (4 adults and 4 children) and far too little food. After reporting the complaint, nothing further will be done. No understanding and everything is dismissed as untrue. The explanation is that it is more exclusive sushi and they decide how much it is. So the surprise here is that it is too little. Maybe next time you'll only get 6 sushis for €75? Who knows… It doesn't say anywhere online that it is more exclusive sushi, but according to the 'owner' (who says he is not allowed to decide anything himself) everyone knows that if you order the surprise box, you will get less. But that doesn't say anywhere. We feel cheated. After years of being a Koyo customer, they now have a very dissatisfied customer. But she doesn't do that.

Good food, good service, just don't sit by the window next time... you will be blinded by all the scooters and bicycles driving onto the sidewalk.

Genuinely impressed with this restaurant. It was fairly empty in the restaurant, but there were many delivery people coming and going. The sushi was very good (the rice perfect, the fish fresh and the ingredients well balanced) although sometimes the sashimi was a bit on the cold side. As a sushi fan, this restaurant made me very happy! In my opinion this is better than Miru, but tastes differ.

Delicious fresh sushi that is made with attention. Extensive map. Friendly service, spacious restaurant, free private parking at the rear / free at q-park. All in all a very nice place to have a good meal!

Quite a nice place and friendly staff. It's all you eat, always fun for those who love it. The food was excellent in terms of price-quality ratio. It is close to the station, so it is also easy if you use public transport
