Each dish has been put together with so much care and creativity that it is a joy to taste. We were pleasantly surprised by the flavor combinations presented to us – all bold, but perfectly balanced choices. The presentation was beautiful and you can tell that everything is cooked here with passion and craftsmanship. In addition, the price-quality ratio is excellent. Here you not only get great dishes, but also top service for a very fair price. This restaurant proves that you don't have to pay top price for high quality and culinary finesse. In short, Mel & Norel is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys good food, a nice ambiance and genuine hospitality. We will definitely come back here!

We had our Valentine's dinner at Mel and Norel. I've heard so much good reviews, so we got to try it. I love the dishes. Each dishes takes me to places, and thats what a great cooking does. I love the portions, it was perfect every serve. The wines are also matched very well. I would love to be here again.

Fine dining at its best! And that in Apeldoorn and for an absolutely great price-quality ratio. We were very impressed by what the kitchen presented. Very good taste combinations. Occasionally challenging or even innovative. Always a good whole and never over the culinary border. It is clear that the chef here knows very well what he is doing. The brigade was also very professional, friendly and always very attentive. In terms of wines, absolutely great menu. We will pay more attention to that next time. They have definitely received our star.

On Christmas Day we had a delicious 7-course dinner at Mel&Norel. Although the place was completely full, we received a lot of personal attention from the host and hostess, who enthusiastically told us about the dishes and wine. The other staff were also very friendly. We really liked Klaas' menu: lots of fish, fresh dishes and surprising twists. If we lived closer, we would definitely have come more often 😊

Still a nice restaurant that also lacks some atmosphere. Entry, explanation and service from the hostess is a bit uncomfortable due to lack of clarity and hardly any explanation as to what the intention is with the bites, menu and wine arrangement. Food is delicious but just lacks that connection of flavors that makes it really special. We had a pleasant and beautiful evening!

The food was excellent. The service did not get into a flow. We arrived 6.30pm for a six course dinner with my wife 36 weeks pregnant. The main course had yet to arrive at 9 p.m. We asked if we could be ready at 10pm. "No problem". Finally the main course at 10 pm and dessert at 10:30 pm. No excuses or anything. In addition, I forgot a glass of wine with the main course, again no excuses. Knowledge of wine superficial (not familiar with what an appellation is, for example).

We have now eaten at Mel and Norel twice, the first time with the two of us on Saturday evening and the second time on Sunday afternoon for a wine tasting with a group of 8 friends. It was great both times. Mel and Norel are truly an asset to Apeldoorn. The food is fantastic (even just the bread), what a taste and if you are a wine lover you have to come here. Tasted and compared very special wines. Klaas passionately shares his knowledge of wine (and food) and a great experience for novice but also experienced wine connoisseurs. Worth every euro. The food was delicious. The hostess made little contact, which was really necessary, but we always had someone else at our table. We also had to ask twice for a little bread and the dishes were on the lukewarm side. In our opinion, the ambient temperature could be warmer It is basically a good kitchen, but with some adjustments here and there it could really reach a much higher level.

What a wonderful afternoon we had in this lovely restaurant. Enjoyed a completely vegetarian 4-course menu during a private lunch and some nice appetizers beforehand. Every dish was spot on, as were the accompanying wines, all in a very pleasant atmosphere with ditto service.

We made a reservation here during a few days in the Veluwe. The decor is nice but a bit businesslike and I was a bit cold. That could be because of where we were sitting. A nice surprise menu with fine flavors. Service is friendly (they are very much controlled by the hostess 😉). The aperitif menu contained tasty non-alcoholic drinks. All in all a nice place for a delicious dinner.

A really very good restaurant with excellent food and very competent service. We had the 6-course Carte Blanche menu with wine accompaniment. Everything excellent!

Very small quantities for far too high a price. Tap water 4.50 per person. Main course consists of a piece of meat weighing less than 30 grams. A bottle of wine costs 65 euros without batting an eyelid. Price-quality ratio is hard to find.

By far the best fine dining restaurant in Apeldoorn! We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious creations during a delicious Easy Sunday Lunch! What is special is that, instead of a fixed surprise menu, you can choose à la carte from all the delicious dishes served at Mel & Norel, in reduced form so that you can try many different creations. We highly recommend the quail and the sweetbreads. The Easy Sunday at Mel & Norel is definitely worth it and don't forget to take a look at the very extensive wine list!

We were spoiled for a wonderful evening. We started with a drink and a snack in the lounge, a delicious homemade Pate en croute. We then sat down at the table and enjoyed a 5-course dinner with matching wines. Highly recommended for a pleasant evening with delicious food! The vegetarian menu is also recommended.

Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere, partly thanks to the hostess. Upon reception in the lounge, we had bubbles and bites before sitting down to the table. Very tasty and cozy. Then a 6-course surprise menu, beautiful and tasty dishes clearly prepared and presented with care and skill. We were given the choice to expand with a signature dish from the chef, which he presented himself at the table, this dish was also recommended! The wines, the port with the cheese, the coffee with friandises... made the evening great and complete.

Excellent food, tasty dishes. A few small points could be tightened up a bit when it comes to the service/operation, if you compare it with the previous owners. The welcome (there was no one to welcome you and we had to wait a while to be asked if we wanted something to drink). In the high(er) segment you might want a little more service.
