Great restaurant with good service, good food and nice atmosphere. Suitable also for corporate events.

Went here for the first time today. The menu is very boring, all those standard things: croquettes, fried eggs, etc. I didn't eat it myself in the end. Tournedos with a potato costs almost €40, which is truly outrageous. But the biggest shame is the pasta on the children's menu... On a huge plate, 12 pieces of penne pasta with some cheese, and they dare to charge €10 for it. It's truly outrageous. We'll never go back; it's the ultimate scam.

I always write positive reviews, but not this time. Why? I made a reservation and told her I have a severe latex allergy, which always went well, but not this time. We were invited by people to celebrate my husband's birthday. My husband was seriously ill, but felt okay to go anyway. We arrived, ordered a drink and a basket of bread, and after half an hour we wanted to order. She still has a latex allergy. The girl went to the kitchen, and it turned out they were using latex gloves. Good thing I asked again. So we couldn't eat there. The people who invited us took an hour to get there. Disappointed. We just had to pay for the drinks and bread, and my pants fell down. I told them. I've been going there for years, what terrible service. I called them today and told them what I thought. They could have offered us the drinks on their birthday, worth the effort, and they didn't call to tell us they were using latex gloves. I was supposed to get a call about discussing it with the chef, about whether we might be able to eat there again in the future. A young lady was also a bit giggly, but I don't find it funny at all. I'm also angry because my husband is seriously ill, and I wanted him to experience as many pleasant things as possible, but this wasn't one of them. I read your reply and was even more shocked. I've been eating at your place for years, and I could always sit somewhere without balloons, in another room, or outside. It was never a problem, and now this reply. I've eaten at your place with quite a few people and always spoke highly of you. That's no way to treat customers; it's truly awful. It's a shame it had to end this way. I just wanted to be heard and to know that it had been handled properly. I wish you all the best. P.S. You've known about my allergy for years and how serious it was. Lying is not allowed.

Very nice restaurant by the water with a great menu featuring French vintages for wine lovers 👍👌 The quality of the cuisine is a credit to this winery 🤗 I recommend it even though the prices are high.

Sadly disappointing! It's a shame the location is beautiful, but it's not ideal when 10 people show up instead of 12, and we still have to pay for 12. The drink selection has also shrunk, with no alternatives for allergies. Far too little sauce with the food, making it tasteless and dry. Our company won't be going there again.

Today (Sunday, 4 p.m.) we sat in the conservatory. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant welcome: the table was still wet and hadn't been cleaned, there was no menu, and almost all the tables were empty. After five minutes, a waitress arrived without a menu and simply listed a few options (coffee, tea, beer, a few white wines). When we left later, we saw a beautiful wine cabinet – a shame that I'd already drunk a mediocre €8 glass of wine without really being offered a choice. The drinks platter was fine, but without forks. We received a glass with napkins, which also contained plastic wrap from previous guests, which looked untidy. In short: a top location, but the service and hospitality felt unloving and cluttered. A real shame, because the place has so much more potential.

Cozy place by the water for a nice lunch.

We were looking for a restaurant near our planned visit today and stumbled upon this gem. We're not familiar with the area and come from the beautiful eastern Netherlands, so we were surprised that we'd immediately chosen a good restaurant. We had a delicious meal, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Of course, the beautiful weather cooperated, allowing us to eat outside in the sunshine, but the food and service were also simply excellent. Highly recommended if you're looking for a restaurant with top-notch cuisine and passionate hosts.

On bank of large lake with kayakers, wind surfers and sailors. Sun sets over the water. Good beer options and had a limited menu due to a large party. Portions smallish but done well. Service was a bit slow and thought the waiters got a bit annoyed with having a large party. Thought the fries with mayo were some of the best I had in Amsterdam

We had a crack in the glass where part of the beer had already been poured... instead of a new glass and bottle of beer, we received the remainder poured into a different glass... that's not how it should be when you receive a cracked glass. The staff was definitely not friendly.

Beautiful location on the water, lovely terrace, and friendly service. The fries were delicious, the cauliflower ravioli was heavy. Pricey, but we enjoyed a sunny summer evening on the terrace overlooking the boats.

Great place for a dinner by the sea. We ordered burratina salad, and the catch of the day plus mussels as main course. Everything well prepared, the mussels especially. The soze of the dish is on the big size, so careful! Worth keepimg space for the dessert.

I've had several delicious meals, and just-in-time reservations don't seem to be a problem. The service is exceptionally fast, which I find a plus, especially if you have other plans. In other words, if you're planning a dinner out, be careful you don't end up back outside within two hours.

Beautiful location and great vibe! Unfortunately, the food isn't what you'd expect. For what they advertise on their website, it's not fantastic or special. Fine, but not 10/10. The service is slow and inattentive. Perhaps it depends on who's working, but that's our experience. You pay a premium for it, but it's not worth it for the food: 6/10.

Actually, this place it’s a very good choice to balance atmosphere, food and service! Attending a private event, it impressed from the start with the modern but still cozy design . The service really attentive and attending all the time and the food really high quality. I would not say this is a fine dining place but it is for sure very close. I do recommend it because it will be an un regrettable experience even the prism e is also up to it :)

Beautiful sunny evening and a lovely table practically on the water. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back.

Reserved With great difficulty a table at the window (took a long time) 'cozy' celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary with friends. We come here regularly. Today a disappointment: Carpartio sandwich comes out of the kitchen with a soup of mayonnaise on the sandwich. Bread almost impossible to get through Is solved perfectly by the staff, (an original carpatio) but without some bread? What a 'fuss', the rest of the group complains among themselves about the bread. Then dessert, please coffee at the same time with dessert (forget it) first the coffee and then later the dessert. Done: no more reservations.

So cozy and delicious. If you want to have a lovely dinner with friends or a business relation, this is the place to be. If you can't figure it out, you can simply ask the staff for advice and it will definitely be fine. The very extensive wine list is extra nice. Just take your valuables out of the car...

“Roast of the day” was beautifully cooked and came with some nice sides. Chill atmosphere in a quaint location, which was a nice switch up from the busyness of town. Decent meal, good service, solid option for a night out. Would like to see how the rest of the menu compares.

We met my sister for lunch at this beautiful restaurant, which boasts a prime location. After exploring the surrounding area, we sat outside on the terrace, which boasts a stunning view of the lake. The staff was very attentive, and the lunch was delicious, especially the parmesan fries with truffle mayo. So if you enjoy lovingly prepared food with a stunning view, this is the place for you!

1 beer 11 euros. Disproportionate.

We came here today after a long walk. We ordered two 0.5-liter beers, followed by two more. The bill blew us away: a whopping €52. They charged us for eight 0.3-liter beers. It wouldn't have been any different, but they had 0.5-liter glasses. We find that very outrageous. Impossible.

Fantastic restaurant and the food quality & service are outstanding

This restaurant was a nice switch up from the busy center of Amsterdam. The vibes, location, and view were on point, but the food was slightly underwhelming given the price. I ordered the catch of the day, which was prepared well, but the gambas threw the dish off a bit in my opinion. Overall, a solid option for a nice day if you are looking for a good atmosphere, and want to enjoy a meal near the water.

Luxurious location with good and tasty food.

The service in the restaurant is disgusting. Us. They sat us at a dirty table. We waited a long time for the menu. The waitress wiped the table with a rag that fell on the floor. Then they sat an elderly couple at our table. They were then kicked out. Which is extremely disrespectful to elderly people. Small portions, and the price is high for such an establishment.

We hosted a birthday party at On The Rock, and everything was handled so well, down to the smallest detail. It’s honestly one of the best places to host a party! The staff was super nice and cheerful, and they did an amazing job throughout. A special thanks to Sarah—she was incredibly sweet and helped us tailor the menu, making sure all our requests and changes were accommodated. The food, drinks, and overall vibe were just perfect. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place along the water. Had a great lunch. The oysters are delicious, but not all the same size. Anyway. Tournedos perfect medium with delicious asparagus. The fish of the day Sea bass with small shrimps was buttery soft and also perfect. Yes...definitely doable here. We'll be back.

On a lovely sunny Easter day, we settled on the large round seat (there are 4) right on the water. It was said that there was no serving in those places. What a pity! It was also not possible to order at the bar and take your own drink to the seating area. 4 tables with potential customers were not allowed to be customers. You can sit there, but you cannot order anything to drink. Quite bizarre for a catering company and not hospitable/customer friendly at all.

The environment is fantastic. You can take a walk on the beach after dinner. The waitress is very enthusiastic and the service is thoughtful. The seafood platter is delicious, but the other one is expensive (more than 50 euros) and bad.

Nice place to sit, but the U benches outside have no service. At least after half an hour we asked if we could order something. People next to us had already left. In addition, they charge €12 for a large Brand Weizen.. and this came in a Heineken glass.. absurd price if you ask me

Passed the restaurant today at 2pm. Thought we would have a drink with the two of us and just one drink on the sunny terrace. There were necessary tables available and not reserved. When asked whether this was possible, a lady responded. Sorry, we are too busy and not all tables are open. Uhm, but we're not necessarily coming for lunch. 1 drink is also ok. No, sorry, you'd better go to another restaurant a little further away. Well, I'm not easily surprised and perplexed, but now I am. It doesn't feel customer friendly at all

Even though there was a wedding going on, I still received enough attention from the very friendly staff. Because the sun came out at this great location on the water, I asked if I could have lunch on the previously closed terrace and that was no problem at all. The young man who served me had an astonishing amount of knowledge and pleasure in recommending the wine. The tournedos was nicely medium rare and the presentation was beautiful too. Nice unexpected experience, thank you!

Been to another owner before! Well, that went well, but all confidence in this owner. My father was born here together with his twin brother! My grandfather and grandmother settled here to raise a beautiful family! I was born on 27-2-1963 Kudelstaartseweg 114. I always have to see and meet Kudelstaart, the original. Just had a cup of coffee. No extensive coffee menu; For example, they don't know a latte macchiato caramel. Cozyly located on the Westeinder Plassen. We didn't eat there so I have no opinion about the menu.

The food was fantastic again, but we were just annoyingly "chased away" 2 hours before closing time. There was no more coffee, the machine had already been cleaned. Then, without asking, the bill was placed on the table?! It detracted from an otherwise nice evening. It is remarkable that the staff does not realize that the last experience of the evening in particular will linger. Apart from those few unwelcoming staff members, it is otherwise professional here.

Had a company outing here and what a great restaurant. The ladies at the service were super nice and always with a smile. Everything is neatly explained and nicely served. I will definitely come here again with my family.

The vegetarian appetizers were lovely. The vegetarian main course options are limited. The ravioli did not match the flavour dimensions of the other dishes. It was unappetizing.

When you enter, you go home to a good and beautiful restaurant. Good and attentive help, nice and clean cutlery, top food... We had soup and meat , fish and the roost and pear parfait, coffee Everything great.

We had dinner here on Christmas Day, due to a misunderstanding we arrived more than 2 hours early. No problem, just sit back and we'll arrange something. When we asked if they also had playing cards, they were brought especially for us. Very warm elegant lakeside restaurant. Friendly and quick service, perhaps too pressing. Good dishes we had second courses and side dishes potatoes and salad 🥗 with desserts anticipated as an aperitif for everyone. I would like to be able to return in the summer with good weather and eat on the lakeside terrace. High prices compared to a normal Italian restaurant

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, the service was fantastic. Clear explanation was given about the choice of dishes. It was very hot and twice the sunroof was closed further to keep out of direct sunlight. The food was great, both the fish and the tournedos. Too bad the sous with cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce is not available in a maxi version!!! Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. Definitely a place to come back to. It's just a pity that you have to walk such a long distance if you have difficulty walking, but that is of secondary importance for the pleasant 3.5 hour stay there. Thanks and see you soon!!

If you want to have a nice meal in Aalsmeer, 'The Rock' is the place to be. High-quality food and an extensive wine list complete the party. Add to that the very good service and the good option for gluten-free food and it is perfect.

Great food, nice drinks, attentive staff. Online I was reading some people complaining about the staff.. But I don't think they know what actual good service is. Despite some of the staff being young (our waiter was young, I think his name was Thijs) they put in the effort and checked regurarly if everything was ok, if we liked our food and if we needed something else to drink of our glasses were empty The view from where we were seated outside was amazing. Definitely recommend going here

Yesterday we were treated very poorly by the staff present! More than 10 months ago we had already reserved a table for this special evening (light evening). With the request to dine outside in nice weather (six people). When we arrived there (by boat), we noticed that no table had been set for us outside. According to the manager present, the table was inside (half on the terrace) or NOTHING! Then this 'gentleman' turned around and shouted to the other staff "a table has become available" and walked away!! We were so stunned and amazed by this comment. This had never happened to us before. Very antisocial to treat your customers like this!!!

What a wonderful restaurant...the food is very good, but what tops it off is the perfect service from relatively young girls who fully understand the catering profession....you are happy to pay a little extra for this... making time for you...not making a fuss about anything...even if you want something outside the menu...really a 10 plus for the service...I always enjoyed coming to this restaurant but Most good restaurants usually slow down after a while, but not here... keep it up... a golden example of how it should be done.......

Reserved a year in advance for the Aalsmeer lights festival. We arrived and had specifically requested nice weather outside. On arrival we could not have a drink until 7:00 PM. We double checked where we would be sitting. We are sitting inside, the manager wanted to accommodate us so that we could have a drink earlier. But there was no other table. At the same time the manager said, well, we have a table available at ours. They kept their agreements, and without mercy our discussed table was already given away. A reservation from a year ago, pff that's bad!!!
