Restaurant Pizzeria Méditerranée in Hulst

A pleasant place to visit for many years. Located by the old harbor. Creates a Mediterranean atmosphere, especially in good weather. You can eat the most delicious pasta vongole there. Hearty portions. Good value for money. Pleasant service.

After making a reservation, we arrived at the restaurant. I dropped off my husband, who is on crutches due to a knee replacement, and while I parked the car, my husband was standing outside, leaning on his crutches, waiting for someone to take him to our table. The lady inside behind the bar looked him in the face, but that was all. Then another man with a cane arrived, and the lady looked at him too, but still no reaction. The man with the cane then went up the few steps and went inside, but my husband was still standing there because the steps were just a bit too much for him. After waiting for some time, the lady finally came outside just as I arrived there after parking. My husband made it clear that he really didn't think this was polite. He walks on crutches and is in pain, but after four weeks, it is nice to have an outing. The lady first denied having seen him, then said she had been busy with customers, then it was the man with the cane's turn first; no apology, and she disappeared inside looking offended. So no dinner for us; we went home and will never go to this restaurant again.

Tasty pizza, nice setting and not expensive

Our absolute favorite in Hulst is Restaurant Pizzeria Méditerranée! From the artisanal folded calzone and mixed grill to the tagliatelle scampi with red cream sauce: everything tastes fantastic. Sometimes we are lucky enough that the chef prepares an exclusive dish off the menu; a culinary 10 out of 10! It is great that the kitchen is flexible and caters to lovers of really spicy food as well. A treat every time, thanks in part to the good service!

We had a delicious meal. We arrived last night during a busy time and hadn't made a reservation. We still managed to find a table. We ate two tasty pastas. Very generous portions that were perfectly prepared. Friendly service. Good value for money.

We had a vegan pizza this afternoon. Generously topped with vegetables and vegan cheese, super tasty! The crust was also deliciously crispy. Worth repeating. We got two plates and the pizza was neatly cut in half, since we wanted to share it. It was more than enough to feel full.

We were here on Saturday night. The pizzas were a sight to behold. I have photos, but unfortunately I can't share them. Pizza with tuna and spinach, and egg that had been thrown on top. My husband's calcone was black on top. It was through a social deal, and they really made that clear. There was also a long time between the appetizer and the pizza. I thought it was to increase sales on drinks. The strawberry sorbet was also just one scoop of ice cream in a bowl. It will be a long time before we, as Hulstenaars, come back here again. Who can tell me how to post photos here? I'm getting an answer in English now. I don't know who that is. No more Martijn as the boss? It's a shame there's no customer review. No, we're not like that to admit in the restaurant that we didn't like the food. I think it's a shame I can't post a photo, because then everyone would see that I'm right. Even though we don't live nearby, we love driving past Hulst to grab a bite to eat with Martijn and his team. Both lunch and especially dinner are delicious, more than enough, and superbly prepared. Great wines at reasonable, not exorbitant, prices! Keep up the good work. See you soon!

The scampi are superbly prepared in a delicious, creamy tomato or curry sauce. The lamb chops are also excellent. The hostess creates a cozy, peaceful atmosphere in the restaurant and is a very pleasant presence, always welcoming and kind to all guests. A restaurant worth returning to.

I love coming here. The pizzas are fantastic and generously topped, but the meat is also delicious and top-quality! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Nice music in the background and a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the evening :)

On the waterfront terrace, you'll instantly feel like you're on vacation. They offer a variety of surprising spritz options at a great price. They have an extensive menu and excellent value. Their pizzas and pastas are excellent, but their salade della casa is also superb (and for just under €20). Friendly and efficient service.

Terrible experience. Would not recommend! This café clearly treats customers differently based on the language they speak. As English speakers, we were met with rude and dismissive behavior from the staff. They seemed to only properly serve those speaking Dutch. When our order finally arrived, it was incorrect—and instead of an apology, we were blamed for the mistake. The waitress who served us was extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We left feeling completely unwelcome. This kind of discriminatory attitude has no place in hospitality. Avoid this place if you expect respectful service.

Asked to put spicy salami on a quatro stagione pizza instead of regular salami. This was inexplicable. Ended up getting pizza quatro stagione without salami. This was solved by adding salami. The bill ended up showing an extra 4 euros for the salami that was originally supposed to be on it. Service was friendly.

Just had another delicious meal in the Méditerrannée restaurant on the Bierkaai in Hulst. We have been coming here for over 10 years and Martijn has never disappointed us with his fresh dishes and there is nothing to criticize about the service. On the terrace in the spring sun…. This is a real shame... as an anti-pasti we ordered a dish of Mortadella for €9.5... for that we received exactly 8 small slices of meat... so not the traditional Mortadella... this was even less than supermarket quality... as a main course we ordered 3 pizzas and a lasagna. These were still ok in terms of quality, but the lasagna portion was also very small. When asking for the bill, we were surprised by being charged for bread (although we ate 1 slice of it) and absolutely crazy...two straws?! Daughter ordered a Ranja twice, but no question was asked. And the bottle always came with a straw. Daughter doesn't like to drink from a straw, so the second time she politely asked for a glass. But still pay for 2x straws. Staff also not open to comment. Last time we've been here! Not recommended at all.

Het was de bedoeling om een heerlijk avondje pizza te gaan eten met mijn zoon. Hij bestelt de pizza prosciutto en ik de duurste pizza van de kaart, pizza parma ham. Mijn pizza smaakte flauw. Ik zag direct dat er geen oregano op zat, of geen andere kruiding. Aan de vriendelijke bediening vroeg ik een beetje oregano en wat pikante olie om de pizza op smaak te brengen. De kok komt aan mijn tafel staan, heel dreigend, en zegt dat op mijn pizza geen oregano hoort. Met een bang hartje, geschrokken van zijn agressieve reactie, zeg ik, laat dan maar. Achter mijn rug om, gooit hij een hand vol oregano op mijn pizza. Mijn zoon en ik, wij wisten niet wat ons over kwam. Van een flauwe pizza, naar veel te veel oregano op mijn pizza. De bediening komt zich nog verontschuldigen voor het gedrag van de kok/eigenaar. Wij zijn nog nooit zo agressief behandeld en dat voor een beetje oregano. Ik begrijp nu wel beter de negatieve recensies . Maar wat ik niet begrijp is dat een pizzamaker geen oregano op pizza's duldt. Misschien toch eens naar Italië gaan, al was het maar om te ervaren hoe echte Italianen met hun klanten omgaan. Prego!

We hebbennhier eerder een pizza gegeten, deze was niet lekker. Echter in de herkansing spaghetti en osobucco gegeten deze waren prima te eten, reden om nog wel een terug te gaan. De bediening had wat minder timide mogen zijn, serveerster was erg verlegen, kennelijk nog erg jong en onervaren, maar niet onprettig.

We ate 3 courses which was very tasty! A cozy setting and atmosphere. We will definitely come back again.

Cheese croquettes came from jumbo or something. Pizza is tasty, but I can also eat one like that at home. The spaghetti that was in there was really not tasty. Crème brulee was not good. Not freshly made at all.

Op n regenachtige avond eind september zin in Pizza. Op donderdagavond toch redelijk wat gasten in t restaurant. Bediening vlot en. Eiendelijk. Pizza s waren goed. Klein verbeterpuntje Borden voorverwarmen want de pizza koelde snel af. Ook de tafels met bank niet heel comfortabel. Volgende keer liever n tafel met stoelen

Great restaurant with crappy food. Indicated that my vongole had closed and broken shells. Nothing was done with it. Leave everything and go. It was not the fault of the staff but certainly the kitchen.

Delicious meal on the terrace. Pizzas, salad and a fish pan. Everything was super tasty and friendly service. The children can go to the play corner, so they can relax for 2 parents.

Disastrously bad fish stew, although it was expensive enough at 31.90 euros Reported this but the chef de cuisine did not budge! The mussels were still almost raw, just like the scampi, far too many strings of cheese, the cubed fish came straight from the freezer and the bread was still a lump of dough, not properly baked. We sometimes get pizza and tiramisu here. Really excellent, so fresh and sublime in taste! Definitely recommended! You can also enjoy sitting on the beer quay. Enjoy!

Vrij normaal restaurant met een leuk terras. Keuze op de kaart is goed. Pizza's, lasagne en spaghetti waren lekker. Aan de ingang van het restaurant is er een kleine speelhoek.

Had a pizza Bolognese and pizza Bavaria here. The pizza Bavaria was fine. In terms of base, both pizzas were good, but the pizza Bolognese was a large pool of bolognese sauce on a pizza, but well filled with sauce. The amount made the pizza very soggy and the accompanying egg was not fully cooked. As far as I'm concerned, staff can inquire in between whether we need anything (to drink). It is also good for turnover.

Not the first time we have eaten here, but now the last time. Asked for a gin and tonic, only received a tonic, ok human error can certainly happen. Afterwards asked for a Coke Zero, got a regular Coke, ok that can happen too. After an hour our food arrived, ok it is busier, but certainly not super busy. We asked for cheese with the pasta, unsuspectingly put cheese on the pasta, the cheese was moldy! You could even see it on the outside of the transparent jar. I definitely didn't want to make a scene, so I stand at the open kitchen and say to the chef, who also happens to be the manager: 'sorry' and I just show it. He brutally snatches the jar out of my hands, my hand against the heating element and I have not received any apologies... So they will never see us here again

Heerlijk eten geserveerd door een vriendelijke bediening.

Pizza zag eruit en smaakte als een goedkope diepvriespizza uit de supermarkt waaraan enkele ingrediënten zijn toegevoegd Voor enkele schijfjes extra salami betaal je €4,- op een toch al prijzige Pizza.

Tja hier kom je terecht als de buurman (de Griek) gesloten is. Onverwachts lekker Italiaans gegeten. Lekker, voldoende en je voelt je in Italië. Was alleen een beetje onverwachts druk volgens mij, dus de dames hadden haast en dat was een beetje zonde voor de sfeer. Maar zeker een terugkomer.

Wij hebben overheerlijk gegeten, Supervriendelijke bediening en hele mooie verzorgde zaak. Dit is een echte Aanrader en wij komen zeker terug.

Alle andere restaurants waren vol (zaterdagavond), binnengestapt bij Méditerranée. Kregen eerst te horen we zitten vol, ze ging het toch even navragen, er was toch plek. Waar wij zaten kijk je zo de keuken in, best sfeervol aangekleed. Vooraf kregen we een broodje met kruidenboter. Dit was wel echt heel lekker brood! Beide gingen we voor een pizza; Pizza Napoli en de pizza Sardegna. Best aan de prijzige kant; rond de €15/16,- zelfs pizza’s van €20,95. Maar ja inflatie he….. Ja was best een goede pizza, niet heel opzienbarend Ze serveren hier het lokaal gebrouwen bier; Vermeersen

De meest slechte pizza ooit gegeten hier. Veel deeg, beetje droge tomatensaus, 5 stukjes ham en een beetje kaas… Een zaakvoerder was er niet te bespeuren. Vreemde ervaring…

Goede Italiaanse keuken, behalve een grote keus aan pizza's, ook een goede kaart met vlees en vis gerechten. Prima kok ook die zijn vak verstaat. De bediening was vriendelijk en attent.

Voor een Italiaans restaurant misschien wat hogere prijzen, maar daar is de maaltijd dan ook naar!! Vers, veel en heerlijk!!

De voorlaatste keer ervaarden wij minder vriendelijk personeel. Online gereserveerd en bevestigd, eens toegekomen geen reservatie te zien, werd ons gezegd dat online reserveren niet kan. Waarom staat er dan op Google ‘tafel reserveren’? Personeel was hierover niet echt vriendelijk tegen ons. De laatste keer dat we zijn geweest hadden we een heel hard gebakken tot aangebrande pizza, verschillende stukken laten liggen terwijl we dit anders wel mee zouden nemen. Dit hebben we vermeld bij het afrekenen maar er werd niets aan gedaan al is het een koffie van het huis. We denken eraan om een andere pizzeria te zoeken de volgende keer Heel jammer want we kwamen hier vroeger wel graag.

Vriendelijke bediening Vers brood (heerlijk) met niet zelfgemaakte lookboter(plastiek potje) Lekkere garnaalkroketten maar wel prijzig voor hetgeen het maar is Kaaskroketten zijn vermoedelijk niet vers gemaakt. Pasta carbonara was lekker maar wel beetje zoutig door teveel spek Pasta 4kazen: lekker saus maar weinig pasta Appeltaart was ook lekker 👍🏼 Al bij al was het niet slecht maar we hebben al beter gegeten.

Top restaurant iets uit het centrum van Hulst, mooi terras, leuke vriendelijke mensen en veel keuze.

Lekker italiaans restaurant. Vriendelijk personeel en goed gegeten. Leuk voor met de familie en vrienden.

Voor diner bezocht. Tagliatelle en pizza Calzone. Eten en bediening was prima. Dames deden hun uiterste best. Jammer van het luidruchtige klagen van de kok richting collega’s in de bediening. Geeft geen mooi signaal naar de gasten. Bij een etentje heb je geen behoefte aan interne discussies.

Zeer lekker gegeten, hele vriendelijke bediening vooral Alysha is echt een topper.

Heerlijke pizza's met rijkelijk bediende toppings, op een lekker krokante bodem. Het restaurant heeft vegan opties, een aangename sfeer, vriendelijke bediening, en lekkere witte huiswijn. In kort, een echte aanrader!
