Restaurant 't Edelhert in Wijk 01 Elspeet-Vierhouten

We had a wonderful and cozy meal with 6 of us... the lovely, sweet girls from the service... 👍👍

It was very busy. The two of us had a spot near the door. I found it really cold. I had to wear my coat the whole time. It was handy that the outside door was always open and there was a door in between. It was also handy that if you need to use the restroom, it's right by the open outside door. They also forgot about us after 20 minutes, when we hadn't even had a drink yet, and someone had come to us. They made up for it by giving us two free drinks and some baguette with herb butter, which was nice, but of course, you wouldn't have wanted that. The food was otherwise fine, and you got plenty of side dishes, which was very tasty! I did have to add some salt to the venison stew; it was a bit bland. It lacked the proper stew flavor. All in all, a great meal!

We sat in the back of the restaurant, which I think is a rather cozy area.

The price is not worth the quality

I had a fantastic meal at Restaurant 't Edelhert! I went for the Wagyu trio, and I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a deliciously tender piece of meat. Everything was perfectly prepared, and the atmosphere was the perfect finishing touch. In short: if you want a delicious meal and a cozy atmosphere, this is the place to be!

This is so delicious. I love coming here for lunch or dinner.

A beautiful appearance, which they can't live up to. A: "Kir" is unknown. We get something completely different. So we ask for a glass of port. The glass of port is served in a small wine glass with the remains of dregs. B: We've barely received our port, we've barely eaten the bread and spread, and then we get the starter. With a glass of rosé and a glass of white wine. (Both in a large glass.) No one clears the table. The menu lists a three-course surprise menu with wine pairing. We weren't given any further information about this. C: When the main course arrives, we ask for a glass of red wine. The dish is almost finished by the time the wine (in a small glass) arrives. D: Moreover, sirloin steak is very difficult to serve on a surprise menu. We like it "rare," but this one was well done. We weren't asked anything about the preparation. During the main course, we asked for the chef. The young waitress asked for clarification. We discussed the above with her. She understood our concerns and said the chef would be there as soon as possible. When paying, we asked for the chef again. They said it might take a while. We didn't want to wait. Hence this review. We had a very tasty meal. Good service, cozy atmosphere. We did have to wait a while for the food, probably because it was busy.

WOW. We chose it based on what we call a "regular" menu, but what a surprise! We both ordered the summer menu. One had tomato soup and salmon, the other mushroom soup and schnitzel. Both, in a word, WOW. Absolutely delicious. The side dishes were also very tasty. We were still looking for a restaurant for the next day, so we made a reservation right away.

The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. The place is beautiful and clean.

No background music (after all, not everyone has the same taste...), good service, and we were seated at a spot of our choosing (we were there well before dinner and could even choose something from the lunch menu: that's not always the case!). We opted for the summer menu, but even then, there was plenty to choose from for less than €30, and it tasted fantastic!

Good food for a reasonable price

Great food and drinks, but there's a huge area for improvement. At one point, there were seven tables that hadn't been cleared after guests had visited. Staff kept walking past them empty-handed back to the kitchen. When new guests sit down, the tables are cleared, but the table isn't properly cleaned first. Come on, Red Deer, do something about this!

10/10 good food for little and top staff

A bit more expensive, but extremely delicious. It's definitely worth a visit. The quality is excellent. The service was also very good and friendly.

We ordered a lunch special for the two of us (at least two of us). In a word, fantastic, beautifully presented, varied, and delicious. The tomato soup was small but delicious. Including two drinks and a tip, it was €42 each, so definitely worth it.

I booked a special dinner, and they even called me back to ask what kind of special it would be. I said, "The love for my wife and I," so heart-shaped petals and a bottle of bubbly were chilled on the table—wonderful. The food is fantastic, as is the staff. Please note that during busy periods, it can take a while for your order to arrive, and that's something to be aware of at a good, busy restaurant. We give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

We'll be back to eat at Het Edelhert. It was delicious again. Highly recommended.

Last Friday we ate here with a large group of about 60 people. A delicious set menu was put together in advance (in consultation). This menu was on a special card for this occasion. It was neatly served per table. Also delicious vegetables with the menus. We enjoyed the delicious food and the cozy atmosphere. Really super top done team Edelhert!

Cozy restaurant, nicely decorated, friendly staff, sufficient parking. We had dinner, it's been a long time since we had such a good meal! Large portions too, with fries and baked potatoes, 4 types of vegetables and apple compote, everything was equally delicious. If we are in the area again, we will gladly come here again!

It was very busy, despite our reservation we had to wait a while before we were served. Everything else top quality!

Teleurstellend begin, 2 dagen van te voren tel.gereserveerd,bleek niet geagendeerd te zijn.Uiteindelijk 'gedropt'in een achteraf-zaaltje zonder enige sfeer en fraaie aankleding .(sfeerloze tafeltjes en stoelen zoals bij een bruin cafe en uitzicht op....een schutting! De jeugdige dames in de bediening probeerden het niveau nog wel enigszins 'op te krikken 'maar de toon was helaas al gezet... Ook werd geen enige vorm van compensatie aangeboden. Ook aan diverse andere klanten werd dit zaaltje 'aangeboden' maar deze weigerden deze ruimte overduidelijk zichtbaar teleurgesteld. Verder ontbraken voor het nuttigen van de spareribs het benodigde specifieke kleine scherpe mesje en het warme schoonmaakdoekje voor de vette vingers... Jammer.De locatie van het restaurant -op een mooie hoek gelegen - an sich wekt hogere verwachtingen die dus helaas -in ons geval- nu niet geheel waar gemaakt werden. Hopelijk helpt dit review op een positieve manier een noodzakelijke upgrading re realiseren van de beide 'achteraf-zaaltjes' zodat er al in een betere en warmere sfeer aan het dineren kan worden begonnen. De algeheel redelijke prijsstelling en de geserveerde hoeveelheid per gekozen item verzachtte al met al ons teleurstellende bezoek aan dit restaurant nog enigermate! Fam Voortman.

Al diversen keren geluncht wat ook erg goed was. En nu diner geboekt keurige bediening en heerlijk gegeten komen zeker nog een keer terug.

Enjoyed a delicious meal in restaurant 't Edelhert. We had not booked in advance so we were lucky that we could still get a table. The service was smooth and friendly. The menu is very extensive, something for everyone. We had a mixed grill and a pork tenderloin skewer as a main course and a crème brûlée for dessert. The dishes were all very well prepared, the different types of meat were perfectly cooked. The portions were very fresh and above all very generous. Recommended. An extensive wine list is also offered with a nice selection of wines. We had a Tempranillo and it was also excellent. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by to taste more dishes.

Cozy village cafe, restaurant. Good service. The spicy chicken sandwich had lost its spice, but in no time I received a truly delicious spicy sauce. Ideal place for lunch.

We hadden nog wel een keer zin om in de buurt wild te gaan eten. Restaurant ‘t Edelhert in Elspeet bood die mogelijkheid. We kozen niet voor het wildmenu, maar à la carte. Ik begon met een uitgebreide wildparade, waarop diverse wildsoorten waren gecombineerd. Mijn tafelgenoot begon met een carpaccio van fazant met mango-witlof chutney. Voordat beide voorgerechten werden geserveerd werd nog een bord brood opgediend. De beide voorgerechten smaakten goed, al was het lastig alle verschillende wildsoorten van elkaar te onderscheiden. De voorgerechten hadden ook een aardige hoeveelheid groente (salade), zelfs meer dan er in de luxere restaurants bij een volledig 5-gangenmenu wordt geserveerd. Het hoofdgerecht voor mij was een wildduo, bestaande uit herten- en reebiefstuk. Ik vond de reebiefstuk wat medicinaal smaken, mijn tafelgenoot proefde dat niet. Hij had een wildtrio, bestaande uit hert, wild zwijn en haas, met daarbij een vossenbessensaus. De hoofdgerechten werden begeleid door frietjes, gebakken aardappeltjes, rode kool, witlof, witte kool en stoofpeertjes. We besloten het verrassingsdessert maar niet te kiezen, omdat de gangen goed gevuld waren. Ik nam een klein Elspeets ijsje, mijn tafelgenoot een warme apfelstrudel met walnotenijs. Daarna raakte de bediening een beetje het spoor kwijt. Het leek wel of we onzichtbaar waren geworden. Mogelijk omdat de meeste gasten al waren vertrokken werd er meer aandacht gegeven aan het schoonmaken van de tafels en dergelijke dan aan ons. Uiteindelijk hebben we maar gevraagd of er nog koffie geserveerd kon worden. We sloten traditioneel af met een cafeïnevrije cappuccino zonder en een gewone koffie met bonbons. De prijzen in het restaurant waren nogal divers: van € 2, 95 voor een cappuccino , tot € 9,50 voor een mojito. De totale rekening bedroeg € 135. Hoewel de gerechten redelijk klassiek en niet spectaculair waren, hebben we goed gegeten bij Het Edelhert. Er blijven nog wel wat verbeterpuntjes over in de bediening. Service 7 Eten 7,5 Ambiance 7

Opnieuw prima gegeten en gedronken tijdens diner (avond) en lunch (de volgende middag) bij 't Edelhert in Elspeet tijdens ons tweedaags verblijf op de Veluwe. Uitgebreide kaart met mooie wildgerechten en bijpassende open wijnen. Chapeau. Het kost iets meer, maar de kwaliteit (en ook de kwantiteit) is prima. Vriendelijke ontvangst en prettige bediening. Goede sfeer en ambiance.

Cycling tour North Veluwe, and then this restaurant is a nice place for lunch. Sufficient storage for bicycles (also for the car). A clear lunch menu. We felt it took quite a while before our, quite simple, order arrived at the table. The food was perfectly fine.

We had a delicious meal here last night and our expectations were more than met. The food was top quality, everything was perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The service was not only professional, but also very friendly and attentive, which made the whole evening extra special. In addition, the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant contributed to a very pleasant experience. In short, we are very satisfied and will definitely come back. Definitely a big 10 for us!

Goede wijnkaart in dit restaurant, en ze hebben ook lekkere gemberthee. Toch zou ik dit restaurant aan niemand aanraden. De menukaart is eentonig samengesteld uit voornamelijk vleesgerechten. Voor vegetariers en veganisten is dit niet de juiste plek. Voor mensen zonder enige kritische kanttekening bij de bio-industrie, die van enorme hoeveelheden vlees houden, is deze plek wel een walhalla. Uit het kleine aanbod vegetarisch eten, besloot ik voor de gevulde champignons als voorgerecht te gaan. Maar de champignons waren niet vers, taai, de vulling was niet te vinden, of misschien was dat dat slingertje geraspte kaas? Dapper ging ik door met het vegetarische hoofdgerecht 'Plantbased italiaanse strudel met pestosaus'. Ook dit gerecht was niet lekker. Twee deegrollen met summiere vulling, eigenlijk gewoon een beetje tomatenpuree. De pestosaus was niet aanwezig, het lijkt erop dat ze daar bij het Edelhert ravigote saus onder verstaan. Het hele gerecht was voornamelijk een hap met meel. Daarbij vond ik de prijzen best aan de hoge kant, zeker gezien de kwaliteit van het eten.

Had lunch here on Saturday, delicious food and friendly service. It was nice that our dog was also welcome on the terrace. Recommended!

Had lunch last week, had a delicious meal and was well looked after, so we discussed it for dinner the next day. This was very disappointing, only after 20 minutes were we asked what we wanted to drink. After 45 minutes we had what we wanted to eat and after 1.5 hours we got our food. The staff does their best, but it is clear that they have no experience, tables are still full and people regularly walk past them but don't take anything with them. The food was not bad but it was very greasy, there is a difference between ala carte and plate service, if you look at the difference is that with ala carte you get products in bowls plus some extra vegetables and apple compote which in my opinion you get. also paid a lot for it. All in all, not recommended for dinner, long waiting times, the summer menu that is advertised via a banner on the facade is a joke, you can choose from 2 dishes. Solution: ensure that there are enough staff, at least with experience, this costs you customers and is a waste of such beautiful accommodation

Once again the meal was a feast!!

Rarely have I felt so unwelcome anywhere as here. By the grace of one of the ladies there we were allowed to grab a table afterwards to have a drink. It was half past three, so too early for us to eat anything. No card for the drink may have been offered yet. But then serve and start with "beer?" can't. Then you just ask, "I have a beer here, which one is for?". We had a drink very quickly and they will never see us again in this establishment.

Gestopt voor een koffie/ biertje met iets lekkers erbij. Duurde even , maar na vragen of we iets mochten bestellen kwam er toch een jonge dame die de bestelling opnam. Was niet erg druk, dus… Appeltaart uitverkocht. Geeft niet, maar de toon waarop dat werd vermeld. Verder alles prima, maar 1 dame van personeel niet al te vlug en vriendelijk. Jammer

We had indicated when booking that one of us has a milk allergy. When we ordered food we forgot to say that. After a few minutes someone came to ask if it was true that one of us had to eat dairy-free! So nice! Our son was also able to use his electric wheelchair in the restaurant. However, there is no disabled toilet. That is something to take into account. Delicious lunch for a good price! 12 hours of fish was super tasty! The club sandwich and the toasted sandwich were also delicious! The owner (I think) was very nice and came to have a chat. Other staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

We had a delicious meal and took the menu. Delicious meat, many side dishes and the soup we were allowed to share was just too much for 1 person. My meat 3 types was delicious. Swapped dessert for cheese board with port, also great. Good friendly service. Definitely recommended.
