The food was delicious! Despite it being surprisingly quiet inside (but then again, it was just after the holidays), we had a wonderful evening. We both had a starter and a main course (both delicious), after which we were so full that dessert was out of the question. However, because I mentioned it was my wife's birthday that day, they gave us a small dessert with fireworks. Very thoughtful! The service was good and cozy, and the interior is nicely decorated. All in all, we had a very enjoyable evening.

We had a really delicious meal. However, we were a bit shocked by the price of tap water: €11.

During the JazzBoZ festival it was not easy to find a bite to eat without a reservation. By chance we ended up at 't Geheim van Bergen. That turned out to be a very lucky coincidence. After some excellent oysters as a starter (natural and gratinated, both delicious) we shared a wonderful starter: black pudding from the Berkshire pigs that the owners breed themselves. The black pudding was of excellent quality, perfectly prepared and beautifully served with a gel of green apple, homemade piccalilly, fresh violets and currant brioche. For the main course we chose a trio of Berkshire pigs and a steak prepared on the lava grill. Both dishes were again excellent: wonderfully beautiful meat, lovingly prepared and accompanied by simple but tasty vegetables, fries and potatoes. The Valpolicella that we drank with it was also delicious and paired well with the meat and vegetables. We are not really dessert eaters, but we were so curious about the lemon tiramisu and the duo of creme brulee that we ordered them anyway. We didn't regret that either: both dishes were nicely balanced between sweet and sour and fresh and creamy. The excellent service by two warm, attentive men who were there immediately when we needed them but were not intrusive made the party complete. We would love to come back again!

Fantastisch lekker. Vooraf een variatie van hammen en worst genomen om te degusteren...zeer lekker en mooi gepresenteerd. Daarna kregen we een kleine amuse aangeboden, een zelfgemaakt groentekroketje om duimen en vingers af te likken. Hoofdgerecht Berkshire varkentje op 2 verschillende manieren bereid...bijzonder lekker!

After an hour and a half, I asked where the bread was. Small, pre-baked rolls, cheap mayonnaise, and the cheapest, watery olives. We were enjoying them so much that the waiter decided to let us wait a little longer for our food. After two hours, we had an overcooked piece of meat, a tiny piece of vegetable, and the cheapest fries. The food was subpar, and the staff was disinterested and rude. Expensive food, and we went home disappointed.

Slightly more luxurious grill restaurant. We ate well, but the extractor worked poorly (burnt grill was very noticeable) and we had to wait an hour for a starter. Quite pricey. And the flies are still not resolved.

Heerlijk gegeten. Prijs en kwaliteit zijn in verhouding. Fijne bediening met persoonlijke aandacht. We gaan zeker nog terug.

Fantastic meal in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful and tasty meat dishes and for cheese lovers: definitely try the 'deluxe' cheese board, with appealing cheeses (not those 'average clay cheeses') and matching glasses. Highly recommended if you want good food in a relaxed atmosphere👍🏻

Starters were tasty, main course pork iberico was on the small side. As a big fan of a cheese board, we ordered this as a dessert. However, the composition was special, all spicy cheeses (2x blue cheese, 2x red rind cheese and 1 old farmer's cheese). Luckily we hadn't started eating yet because one of the blue cheeses (which didn't look too good, namely green and dried out) had flies coming out of it. We discreetly pointed this out to the staff, who then removed the plates. What followed was strange: the service barely looked at us and brought new “cheese boards” without discussing whether we still wanted them. Of course we were done with the cheese. We have paid and will not eat here again.

Price quality very disappointing. Meat was burnt, but apparently that was the case because it was grilled? I know when something is burnt, so not a friendly response. Also wash few, very few vegetables. You could get lettuce for a fee, but I think this should be included. Normally we take dessert, but we didn't want to stay longer. Very unfortunate, because we had high expectations.

I surprised my wife with a social deal. But this leaves you wanting more! We had eaten there before with the old owners. But the new owners more than live up to it! They have maintained certain things, such as the pork from the Herijgers family in Lepelstraat, which produces delicious, slowly cooked pork belly. We had a 4 course meat/fish menu which we shared with each other with oysters and a wine arrangement. It was all delicious with surprising flavor combinations. Next time we will go for a la carte with advice from the owner. Delicious!

The food was fine, although the pork belly starter was a very small portion. What bothered us were the small flies that constantly flew around our food and sat on it. Of course we said this. It was a known problem, but less than it used to be, we were told. The windows and also the glass screens in the restaurant were dirty and full of dried drops and smears. Apparently this was because the flies had been sprayed? Strange story and it just didn't look neat.

Fantastisch lekker gegeten met vrienden. We hadden allemaal een ander hoofdgerecht en alles zag er perfect verzorgd uit. Mooie variaties op de menukaart en ook een prima wijnkaart. De creatieve chef staat te stralen in de keuken. Ook de bediening is zeer vriendelijk en professioneel. Een heerlijke plek om een avond uit eten te gaan.

More than great food. Everything was explained with patience. Nothing about pushing, just ease into it, which was very pleasant. Also paying attention to guests who cannot eat much anymore due to their smaller stomachs. This was certainly considered. I say fine.

Great restaurant with very beautiful and delicious dishes. It is difficult to choose from the menu. Fortunately, on Sundays you can let the chef choose for you, and that is recommended.

Zeer gastvrij restaurant met een gemoedelijke sfeer. Ruim opgezet en voldoende privacy daardoor. De kwaliteit van alle gerechten is erg goed, wel een echt vleesrestaurant. Maar daar houden wij van. Zeer malse flat iron Steak gegeten met heerlijke pepersaus. Het voorgerecht was een parade van de chef met veel verschillende smakelijke gerechtjes. Van met biet gemarineerde zalm en kabeljauw kroketjes tot gebakken bloedworst en rilette van eend. De bediening is attent en komt rustig over. We dronken verschillende wijnen van de uitgebreide wijnkaart , de meeste per glas verkrijgbaar. Pinotage uit Zuid Afrika, Tempranillo en een geweldige Portugese rode wijn, Gravuras, uit de Douro streek. Heerlijk bij de steak!!👌

WOW, zo’n heerlijke verrassing in het centrum van Bergen op Zoom. Wij hebben genoten van het zondagse 5-gangen Chef menu. Mooie afwisseling van smaken, indrukwekkend goed. Mooie ambiance, super om de hele avond door te mogen brengen.

Wonderful, relaxed atmosphere, friendly people, in short: a successful culinary outing is no longer a secret for us...

Very disappointing. The black pudding was fried hard and chewy. The gazpacho had no flavor and tasted like soap. An attempt is made to make exclusive food reservations, but the execution is substandard. The chef still needs cooking lessons. Moreover, it was quite expensive: not a good price-quality ratio. Oh yes, it was cold inside too. It turned out that the heating was not on. After making a comment about this, it became a bit more pleasant.

Prima eten. Dit is het betere steakhouse. Alle producten uit de regio. Eten is goed, personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Sfeer is er goed.

Ik heb samen met drie andere vrienden heerlijk gegeten. De service was goed en de sfeer was fantastisch! Luca heeft ons super behandeld!

Geweldige keuken, mooie en leuke presentatie. En Luca en Stijn zijn goede gastheren.

Dit is een uitgebalanceerd restaurant. DE bediening is zeer voorkomend. De gasten worden als "koning en koningin"behandeld, tenminste dat gevoel krijg je. Na de keuze van het voorgerecht en de wijn, wordt in een tweede ronde geinventariseerd wat het hoofgerecht mag zijn. Ik heb voor slibtong op een bedje van risotto gekozen. Er lekker maat voor mij ( ik gebruik geen extra zout) toch wel erg aan de zoute kant.. Het broodplanje vooraf was erg lekker en het toetje mocht er ook zijn, zo lekker en verfijnd geprepareed en opgediend. Al me al een heerlijk avondje waar we met plezier op terug kijken.

Wederom hebben wij heerlijk gegeten in Het Geheim van Bergen, een heerlijk en verassend voorgerecht. Het hoofdgerecht was uitmuntend en nagerecht super. Sfeer en bediening erg goed. Wij komen zeker terug.

Ons eerste bezoek sinds het restaurant van eigenaar is veranderd. De gedroogde ham is een van de lekkerste die we ooit hebben gegeten. Hoofdgerecht Berkshire steak uitstekend, echt fantastisch. De short rib daartegen werd ongevraagd overgoten met een vreemde overheersende saus (bouillon + tomatenpuree?) die toch wat afbraak deed aan een verder perfect gegaard stukje vlees. De nagerechten zijn okee, lekker maar niets bijzonders, maar dat waren ze eerder ook al niet echt. Toch was het een mindere ervaring. Naar ons idee was de portie buikspek aanmerkelijk kleiner geworden; wat geen probleem zou zijn geweest … als de prijs ook gekrompen was. Dit kwam over de gehele linie terug: gerechten hetzelfde of kleiner, de prijs hoger. De kaart is praktisch hetzelfde, het enige wat veranderd is is dat er slordige spelfouten bij zijn gekomen (denk “Grada Pedano” of “barbeque glaze”) en wordt Berkshire door de bediening consequent uitgesproken als “burk sjaaier”. Normaalgesproken geen ramp, maar dit hele restaurant is om dit varkensras heen gebouwd; dan zou je verwachten dat de naam klopt. Tot slot heeft de kaart heeft erg veel wijnen, maar wanneer je de bediening vraagt wat ze zouden aanraden bij een gerecht komt er nagenoeg niets zinnigs uit. Dat is wel eens heel anders geweest bij het Geheim van Bergen.

Eten was top, hierover ook zeker geen op- of aanmerkingen. Maar, bijna 3 uur wachten op twee gangen eten gaat mij mijn pet toch te boven.

Sorry maar zo’n slechte ervaring. Menukaart online klopt niet met de menukaart in het restaurant. Het bestelde heeft te lang op de bar gestaan half dood. Voorgerecht waren ze vergeten komen met allerlei smoesjes. 2 uur gewacht op het hoofdgerecht. De geserveerde groenten was koud. Het was zeker niet goedkoop. Gastvrijheid moet nog echt uitgevonden worden. Kortom zwaar teleurgesteld de vorige eigenaar was veel beter.

Sanne heeft lekker gekookt het was heerlijk, wíj hebben heerlijk gegeten met zíjn alle in goede ambiance.

Niet meer wat het geweest is.. Het Geheim was echt een toprestaurant. Een plek om mensen mee naartoe te nemen voor een echt 'avondje uit'. Alleen 'Parade van de Chef' is nog zoals het was. Vlees was droog, asperges waren hard. Vervolgens ook nog discussie met de chef.. Ooit ons favoriete restaurant, nu niet meer voor herhaling vatbaar.. zonde!

Lekker gegeten, vleesplank is top. Rib eye perfect. Gezellig vertoeven, inkijk in de keuken 👍 zeer vriendelijke bediening en de obers weten wat ze serveren. Om terug te komen.

Vriendelijk ontvangst en bediening. Mooi aangekleed interieur, maar vooral heerlijk gegeten van begin tot einde. Vooral de proeverij van voorgerechten was een feest qua smaakcombinaties en gerechtjes. Top avond gehad!

Kwalitatief hoogstaand restaurant. Eerst krijg je kaart voor aperitief aangeboden waarbij je verschillende vleesplankjes kan bestellen (van eigen varkens) om met elkaar te delen. Bediening legt met veel enthousiasme uit wat er op je bord ligt. De kaart met voor en hoofdgerechten is niet lang en dus overzichtelijk. Eendenborst was goed mals en sappig, uitstekend van smaak. Complimenten aan de chef.

wij hebben lekker gegeten, jammer dat de tafeltjes voor 2 personen iets te dicht bij stonden, maar wel gezien dat er ook iets meer privé tafels zijn door glazen schermen... wat wij wel erg vonden is dat de wortel sap 6,45 euro per glas was!!!! dat was duurde dan mijn wijn...wortelsap kost 2.49 euro per fles. totaal 2 glazen wortel sap 12.90... !!!!

Was helemaal top. Leuke tent met heerlijk eten. Ik had de Berkshire ( varken van hun eigen boerderij ) steak, dat was nog eens mals en sappig! Achteraf nog een mooie Aberfeldy whisky op. Aanrader
