Spiehuis is failliet en dus gesloten!!! Jammer, sinds ik klein ben, was dit "schattige huisje in wit rood groen" altijd punt an herkenning bij thuiskomst

The restaurant serves dishes where animals are bred in a gruesome manner. They have meat where geese get a funnel with a 20/30cm hose in their beak and fill it with food. This causes the liver to become much larger. This is just to make money. After indicating that this is a method that is unfriendly to animals. They indicated that we should bully other people. So a bad restaurant that only wants to make money. Some norms and values ​​would be nice.

But this restaurant compares that extreme animal suffering with drinking too much alcohol. Don't cooperate and ask them to take it off the menu!

Wat een geweldige ervaring met de hele familie (8 personen) een fantastische avond gevierd in ‘t Spiehuis. We zijn op onze wenken bediend met een op onze persoonlijke voorkeuren aangepast chefs menu. Meneer Daan deed al wat in zijn vermogen lag samen met Sidney om voor ons de perfecte avond te verzorgen. Liefde voor gastvrijheid was in alle details terug te vinden. Heel hartelijk dank en vooral aan te bevelen.

This is what I love so much... good old fashioned good food. Nice wine... nice cozy living room atmosphere... very good service and delicious dishes. Highly recommended! Been again and the food is still traditionally delicious.

The chefs in the kitchen only know what good cooking is. The food was so good and the price-quality ratio is excellent. It's not cheap, but the food is more than worth it. The food and wine were fantastic. Especially the tarte tartin with foie gras. The wine list, with the exception of Austrian wines, looked good. It is a pity that the location could use a paint and cleaning and that the service could pay more attention....

Een nieuwe menukaart met een keuze uit klassiekers uit de Franse keuken. Een ouderwetse inrichting. Een chef ( met een brigade) die weet wat hij doet. En heerlijk gegeten! Salade riche en kalfsvlees met zwezerik. Goede bediening en een sommelier met mooie aanvullende wijnen. We komen snel terug.

Geweldig dat de klassieke keuken nog bestaat! En hoe. De salade riche: top. De kaart is echt een feestje! Erg moeilijk kiezen. Maar er is meer. Goede ontvangst en bediening, zeer goed wijnadvies. Tel het fijne gezelschap erbij en je hebt echt een topavond. Doen!

Een restaurant met een ‘à la carte’-kaart met (te veel) lekkere gerechten. Die zie niet veel meer. Wat een feest! Klassiek Franse keuken. Heerlijk gegeten (salade riche en tarbot). Echt een aanrader. Qua bediening ook zoals je het niet vaak meer ziet tegenwoordig: goed en informeel. Je voelt je welkom. De sommelier helpt bij het kiezen van de bijpassende wijnen. We komen gauw terug.

We had been wanting to dine at 't Spiehuis for a while, and we are extremely happy that we finally did it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is truly delicious. The dishes are clearly prepared with passion and the team made us feel immediately at home, with friendly service, and nice background stories about the dishes and wines. And when we inquired whether a vegetarian option was available, we were pleasantly surprised with a delicious risotto. If you are looking for a place to enjoy delicious food and a pleasant evening, 't Spiehuis is definitely recommended. We look forward to coming back again!

Delicious classics in a relaxed atmosphere. Fortunately, nothing has changed in the interior since the Herfst family left, and the staff is also as friendly as ever and always makes you feel welcome. Add to that the perfectly prepared classic dishes such as Sweetbread with truffle risotto, Chateaubriand Stroganoff and Crêpes Suzette flambéed at the table and you won't want to go home. Spiehuis is no longer Spiehuis. Prices increased by more than 20 percent in six months (!) and portions reduced. Killing if you ask me. You now suddenly have to pay for potatoes and salad separately. I don't know of any restaurant in the Netherlands where you have to pay separately for side dishes. Drinking at the bar is difficult because you prefer to go straight to your table. Wines and hospitality are no longer what they used to be. Unfortunately, one less iconic restaurant. The only remaining winner is Hans. Host who understands that it is all about the guest! It turns out that the Herfst family was unsurpassed.

Als je binnenkomt en je ruikt de geur van oude vloerkleden zoals ik herken bij de kringloopwinkel dan is er wat niet goed met de inrichting en is het hoogtijd voor nieuwe vloerkleden en/of aankleding. De gerechten waren goed tot voortreffelijk evenals de bediening. Helaas was de frites het aanzien niet waard en gewoon slecht. Een minpunt. Verander dat of haal het van de kaart. De prijs zit in het hogere segment.

I was invited to eat at 't Spiehuis. Upon arrival you have the feeling that Hansel and Gretel (next to the Efteling) may have a holiday home here. It is a beautiful building with ample parking. Here hospitality is really as it should be without being stiff but with unprecedented quality, skill and knowledge. We first had a drink at the bar and then you really take in the place. It is as if time has stood still here for at least 50 years. I love it. One look at the map and I'm completely happy! Real classic dishes that will make your mouth water. Once at the table, first there is a Foi Gras for me, which was perfect, but now it comes... if you are here, definitely order the scallops because they are so incredibly tasty and for me a reason to drive at least 100 km for them. For dessert we ordered crepes suzette which were flambéed at the table. Where else do you see that? I almost forget the delicious wines. All in all, a great location that I will definitely visit more often... even if I have to drive 100km to get there

What a pleasure to discover a really good restaurant again. The staff clearly enjoy working here. One gentleman talked to us for a bit too long at the end about faith and the like, but other than that everything was excellent!

No vegetarian options is really hopelessly outdated. Come on people, take a little initiative and creativity and go with that banana!!

T Spiehuis was taken over in September 2023. The famous brothers retired. Fortunately, 95% of the Spiehuis has remained unchanged. Top steak. We took the chateaubriand. Awesome. Well, the new owner had not taken over the wine cellar. So we were very curious about the wine list and sommelier. But that was fantastic. I almost dare not say it. It was better than the previous owner! Had a great Riesling and top Italian red from Bolgheri.

Strange and very inhospitable when you cannot come and have a cup of coffee with a group of 15 people (walkers) on a Sunday around 12 noon. While it is open.

Zeer goed en lekker gegeten. Dankzij de chefkok Sydney weer even goed als 20 jaar geleden. Complimenten ook voor de ambiance en de bediening. Wij komen zeker vaker 😊

Hernieuwde kennismaking na de overname van de fam Herfst. Een betere opvolging is er niet, vakmanschap in de keuken en service. Sydney kookt geweldig, mooi klassiek en de gastheer en sommelier hebben hun sporen wel verdiend! Veel wijnkennis die op een enthousiaste manier wordt overgebracht. Ik ben blij met zo'n prachtig restaurant naast de deur!

Wat zijn wij blij dat we chef Sidney Heinze weer hebben gevonden bij het Spiehuis. Wij hadden zulke goede herinneringen aan het heerlijke eten van Sidney, en hij heeft het weer helemaal waar gemaakt. Het smelt op de tong, zo heerlijk ! Ik heb in Nederland nog niet zo lekker gegeten als bij Sidney. Wij werden gastvrij en vriendelijk ontvangen door gastheer Hans. Aan tafel hebben wij kennis gemaakt met sommelier Daan. Deze professionele en enthousiaste man geeft zo'n leuke en mooie info over de wijnhuizen ! De wijnen die hij adviseerde bij de gerechten klopten precies, perfecte balans. Wij gaan zeker weer vaak terug komen, een aanrader !

Dit is een restaurant waar alles klopt!! De mensen zijn zeer gastvrij, alles kan!! Het eten is helemaal geweldig... kortom een top restaurant

Klassiek restaurant met een klassieke keuken en dito bediening. Papa en mama zaak in de goede zin. Zeer betrokken personeel en uitstekende service. Ook de vegetarische improvisatie was uitmuntend.

Niet normaal restaurant, wat heerlijk gegeten en de fantasie bediening een parel onder de restaurants.chapeau.

Leuk maar je moet er van houden

Een benadering van het restaurant wezen die je eigenlijk nergens meer tegenkomt. Echt genoten van een heerlijke lunch met supermooie wijn. Dit is ouderwetse klasse!

Je weet als je een top restaurant bezoekt dat de menu's en wensen zijn afgesteld op het aantal personen. Ook speciale wensen kunnen daar altijd vooraf besproken worden, niet op het moment dat je binnen valt. Wij komen al 15 jaar in dit top Restaurant met geweldige en familiare bediening. Nooit teleurgesteld. Dank voor alle fijne jaren familie Herfst.

Mooi en vriendelijke eetgelegenheid

Gezellig en top bediening, het eten dat men serveert is van hoge klasse. Wat een gastheer en vrouw. Een aanrader voor mensen die culinair willen genieten. Het restaurant heeft een groot terras en rokersruimte.

Voor mij persoonlijk 1 van de allerbeste en al vanaf de 1e keer in de jaren '80! Vriendelijk en geïnteresseerd personeel die al vele jaren een zeer goed concept op tafel neerleggen. Het is hier echt een avond uit eten, relaxed en gezellig. Geen haast werk. Mooie gerechten, erg smaakvol. Misschien iets duurder maar past prima in het geheel wat wordt geboden. Al veel creme brulees gegeten maar nooit zoals in het Spiehuis! Top

We waren in het Spiehuis met de familie om een verjaardag te vieren. De ontvangst was allesbehalve aardig. We werden gedwongen onze jassen bij de garderobe te laten en ze niet mee te nemen naar de tafel. Anders zou het restaurant als een stationsrestaurant worden bestempeld. Toen we verteld hadden dat we met één persoon meer waren dan oorspronkelijk in de reservering stond, was het personeel geïrriteerd. We hadden een baby bij ons, ons werd verteld dat de baby naast de keuken in een aangrenzende kamer moest slapen, zodat het het eten en serveren niet zou verstoren. Welke moeder laat haar baby in zo'n kamer slapen? De ober reageerde ook zeer onvriendelijk en wilde de kinderwagen niet aan het eind van de tafel hebben. We werden zeer onvriendelijk behandeld. Ze hebben het gevoel iets beters te zijn en zijn erg arrogant. Het eten was niettemin zeer smakelijk en aan te bevelen.

Eindelijk een tafel kunnen reserveren in dit sfeervolle restaurant. Je bent hier echt uit en wordt door de gastvrouwen en heer in de watten gelegd. Eten is prachtig verzorgd en lekker, al had ik die foie gras erder uit de koelkast gehaald en was de lamsrack te rauw. Men vroeg ook niet hoe wij de gaarheid wensten. Dessert was fantastisch een heerlijke parfait, duidelijk zelfgemaakt en een crème brulée zoals je hem maar zelden krijgt. De prijzen zijn hoog maar wel acceptabel in deze ambiance.

Het was weer fantastisch geregeld zoals altijd bij dit top restaurant. En natuurlijk heeft Restaurant t' Spiehuis ook de service die je ziet! Leesbrillenbox.
