Delicious food. For us, the tenderloin tartare was the tastiest dish. The wild boar is also highly recommended.

Excellent food and dining at a relaxed pace. High-quality, unpretentious ingredients presented beautifully. The whole meal was delicious but I especially enjoyed the salmon and the panna cotta. The host was really friendly, made me a delightful alcohol-free aperitif and made me feel right at home. I'd recommend Zest for a special meal/evening out and hope to come back again.

Every now and then we go out for a culinary evening. After some searching I ended up at Zest. The food is absolutely delicious and it looks like a work of art! It's almost a shame to eat it. The proportions of sweet, sour, bitter and salt are sublime! The owner takes the time for every guest and has a nice easy chat, with a touch of humor. The wine advice she gave made the evening complete! The restaurant itself could have a bit more coziness and character. Otherwise we had a wonderful evening!

If you like quiet food, pure indulgence on your plate and friendly service, then Zest is the place to be.

After reading the comments of others decided to make a reservation here. We have not regretted this! Beautiful and very tasty dishes. The owner also deserves praise, hospitable and very friendly. Next time we come to Valkenburg we will definitely go back here.

When we arrived we were the first guests, the interior is beautiful, but we thought the quality of the food was substandard. Girlfriend was gluten-free, but there were no substitutes or anything to compensate for this. Food is served in very small portions and is tasty but not special. Price-quality ratio is therefore far from good. Normally for the prices charged you can expect much fuller plates like this. Ultimately, the dinner was shortened due to force majeure, but I would not recommend it.

We had such a fantastic meal. Beautiful flavors, surprising combinations and super hospitality. Very good price/quality ratio. It's a shame we don't live closer so we would come here more often.

When booking online you have to pay €25 per person. However, it then turns out that they do not want to take allergies into account. Unfortunately we cannot come then. Away 100,- thank you Zest.

Delicious dining with friendly service! We opted for a 5 course menu and each course was prepared with care and love! Ultimately we opted for the cheese board because it all tasted so good. Highly recommended and a hidden gem in Valkenburg!

Heerlijk! Gisteravond met ons gezin voor het eerst hier gegeten. Wat een pareltje is dit restaurant. Het eten was een waar culinair hoogstandje en de eigenaresse, die in haar uppie de rol van gastvrouw op zich neemt, zorgt ervoor dat je je helemaal thuis voelt. Chapeau!

Very tasty food, we will definitely come back

Had reserved online. Had to pay €25 per person. No problem! We then called again, but our wishes could not be met. If you have an allergy, you're out of luck. Dishes cannot be customized. And the website states that they cannot guarantee that our dishes do not contain allergens. But if you cannot (or do not want to) adjust the dishes, we cannot use the restaurant. Fine, but then you lose your money. So bad!

Waardeloos! Op de website staat dat " .. kunnen wij niet garanderen dat onze gerechten geen allergenen bevatten. " Dus na het reserveren toch maar even gebeld. Helaas wil de eigenaresse niets aan de gerechten veranderen. Ik denk dat ze het wellicht wel wil, maar niet kan. Een soep wordt altijd met room gemaakt, zegt de eigenaresse. Dus je kunt met bijvoorbeeld koemelkallergie geen soep eten. Blijkbaar hebben ze nog nooit van plantaardig room gehoord. Dus als je een allergie hebt, dit is niet het restaurant waar je naar toe moet gaan.

Op zaterdag 7 Sept 2024 een heerlijk 4 gangen fine dining diner gehad bij restaurant Zest met bijpassend wijnarrangement; De wijnen waren zeer bijpassend en mooi uitgelegd door de gastvrouw en haar man heeft in de keuken overheerlijke gerechten voor ons gemaakt. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar; kort samengevat: Michelin sterrenwaardig restaurant voor een goede prijs.

Made a reservation, arrived on time and left satisfied after more than two and a half hours. It was quite quiet in the restaurant, which is nice. The food is culinary excellent and tastes delicious, less surprising than the standard of most culinary restaurants. It's just fine, tasty and it looks neatly decorated. Have a glass of wine and enjoy.

Zest is een prima restaurant dat gelukkig afwijkt van de overige massa restaurants in Valkenburg. De opmaak maar vooral de smaken zijn voortreffelijk. We hadden een 5 gangen diner met daarbij een perfect smakend wijnarragement. Zelfs het kaasplankje met Nederlandse kazen waren verrassend lekker. Dus een absolute aanrader.

If you take the tasting menu, be ready to spend 4-5 hours at the restaurant. Of course it’s completely worth it! Just keep that in mind not to be nervous there and just enjoy !

Genoten van een 4 gangen menu met bijpassende wijnen bij restaurant Zest. Het eten was heerlijk en erg mooi op de borden opgemaakt. De amuses waren lekker en ook de zelfgemaakte friandisches bij de koffie waren top. Hier komen we terug als we weer in Valkenburg zijn.

Nous avons passé un très agréable moment, tant dans l'atmosphère de ce magnifique endroit à la décoration zen et d'autant plus dans la découverte des plats, de la qualité des produits proposés et la préparation des recettes du chef. On retrouve la passion de la cuisine dans notre assiette ! Qui plus est, un dressage harmonieux, un vrai régal pour les yeux et les papilles ! Un service impeccable et un contact chaleureux avec le personnel. Nous y sommes retournés le surlendemain tellement cela nous avait goûté. Je recommande cet établissement les yeux fermés 🥰 Mr. Moureau

Last weekend I accidentally walked past Zest. We were very lucky that there were still tables available for Saturday evening. Received by a friendly, spontaneous hostess in a rustic yet chic restaurant. Lots of natural materials in the decoration and calm colors. The food is great! There are 4 or 5 ingredients on the menu per dish and that is what you are served. Honest and pure, excellently flavored and clearly prepared with passion. Few points for improvement, but if one were to be mentioned it would be the technical execution of the dessert. The flavors go together very well, but the mousse was very slightly grainy and the frozen yogurt lacked some creaminess for me personally. But then I'm really nitpicking and picking nails at low tide. Although Valkenburg is a 2-hour drive for us, Zest is on the list of 'restaurants to visit again'!

Fantastic restaurant with a simple but effective menu, almost everything is made with 4 ingredients and the flavors that are promised are also delivered. Don't let the reviews from more than 3.5 years ago bother you, Zest hasn't been around that long and those reviews with thanks to Google we are talking about Roos, the restaurant that used to be here. Please note that in this fine dining category it is an experience that fills your evening, and therefore does not mean a quick bite.

Heerlijke avond! Heel lekker van de eerste tot de laatste hap met goeie aangepaste wijnen en vriendelijke bediening. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar als we nog eens in Valkenburg zijn! Als we toch iets moeten aanmerken is het misschien dat de tafelindeling niet zo gezellig is als je maar met 2 bent. Het waren grote ronde tafels waardoor je bijna naast mekaar moest gaan zitten.

Fine dining in #Valkenburg. Almost 4 hours of exclusive excellent prepared creations with beautiful pairing wines, in an informal atmosphere. We had the 6 course Asparagus dinner.

Delicious food. Spontaneous hostess and a very friendly atmosphere. Wines that go well with the dishes. Really enjoy an evening.

What a wonderful and tasty experience. The menu is diverse and refined. Beautiful flavors, good portions and it really surprised us. Be sure to include the wine arrangement, this has also been carefully considered. The service by the owner in particular was great! A pleasant chat also does a lot for the atmosphere. We went for 5 courses with wine and spent around €120 per person, which was excellent value for money.

Heerlijk vers eten met verfijnde smaken. Wij hadden een 5 gangen menu genomen en waren positief verrast door de gerechten. Goede porties ook. Bijpassend wijnarrangement genomen waarbij we ook nieuwe wijnen hebben leren kennen, zoals de verdeca. De gastvrouw was zeer vriendelijk en omschreef de wijnen perfect. Daarnaast ook een sfeervolle, warme inrichting. Echt een aanrader!

Very tasty food and friendly personal service

We had a great evening. We were wonderfully surprised by the menu. We chose the entire menu in which the courses were perfectly matched. Beautiful, refined dishes were served by a very sweet waitress. We also drank a delicious Bordeaux alongside it. Highly recommended if you like fine dining and really want to enjoy an evening. Top!

Food is fine (nothing incredible though), just please bear in mind it will take you between 4 to 6 hours since you enter until you leave the place for the 5 or 6 course menu. Very long time to serve. Apparently this is normal. I’ve done fine dining before and would rarely exceed 2.5 hours, that is the time we set up for this place. We had to leave without having the main course, still got charged for it. The waitress was friendly and kind.

Highly recommended for a meal when you are in Valkenburg. Great tasty food, nice hostess! Full evening, this makes a person happy :-)

Had a fantastic meal at Restaurant Zest. We had the 6 course menu and everything was great, including 3 appetizers beforehand that were also very tasty. It sounds like a lot, but the portions were all the right amount so you don't leave feeling full, but well satisfied. Thanks for a wonderful evening! Definitely recommended if you want to eat better and enjoy an evening meal.

First of all, thank you for all that beautiful stuff. it is downright perfect.my girlfriend had a wonderful experience in Zest.best culinary highlight. operation 100% and beyond. very personal touch from this special lady. everything perfectly friendly on time and amicable. we will absolutely come back. we took the 5 courses. piece by piece gems. everything is good. flavors, ratio, finish, salty sweet bitter... just great. The quantity of the plates matches perfectly with the following, and the flavors between the different dishes are so well balanced... so much beauty. Everyone goes there, it is an absolute must for people who have some culinary experience. we thank you madam and sir. it was finished. 👌👏👏👏

Discovered this restaurant during a weekend in Valkenburg. Very tasty food, everything very refined. Lots of attention to details on the plate. Very pleasant hostess in a friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth repeating, we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Werkelijkwaar fantastisch. Na een lange dag wandelen hebben we een tafel gereserveerd bij Zest. Na een teleurstellende avond bij Bruis in Valkenburg te hebben gehad, wilden we toch onze culinaire wensen in vervulling laten gaan. En dat is gelukt! Wat een enorme goede tent is dit. Elk gerecht waren kleine picasso's, de kwaliteit van de ingrediënten waren van topniveau. Zeer leuke bediening. De wijn mochten we even voorproeven, etc etc etc. Bezoek je Valkenburg dan bezoek je Zest! Eet smakelijk!

Super restaurant, verdient best een zes op vijf. Heerlijk eten met een vriendelijke bediening en gepaste bijhorende wijntjes

Zest Valkenburg, een parel ! De chef kookt en creëert absoluut op ster niveau. Het ziet er zo uit, het is ook zo bereid en smaakt navenant. We hebben een 4 gangen menu gekozen. Daarin konden we nog kiezen uit verschillende samenstellingen. Ikzelf ben begonnen met een mousse van geitenkaas waar de opmaak was zoals de smaak, prachtig. Vervolgens een Bisque van langoustines. Waarbij de langoustines waren verpakt in een rolletje van chinese kool. Klein detail is dat de bisque werd geserveerd met lepel en mes 😉 (niet onterecht, de langoustines waren net geen eenhapsgrootte) samen met de geadviseerde boterige Chardonnay een uitstekende combi.  Het hoofdgerecht bestond uit lams filet met gepaneerde polenta en galettes van Aubergine. Perfect gegaard en in combinatie met de ditto passende Californische Cabernet Sauvigion een subliem geheel. Gang 4, nam mijn vrouw de bosvruchten/witte chocolade (Hemels fluffy) en ik de kaasplank met stroop van Tawny Port. We werden er stil van hoe goed dit was gemaakt.  We hebben alles afgerond met een kopje koffie met een eigengemaakte pure chocolade bonbon gevuld met limoncello. Kwa kwaliteit en de zorgvuldigheid van wijn keuzes een pareltje om te koesteren. Want hier zit wat goeds 'onder de motorkap'. Succes !

Heerlijk eten, aardige gastvrouw, maar helaas duurde het tussen de gangen erg lang. Wij hebben het 4 gangen menu gehad en hebben van 18:30 tot 22:00 getafeld (2 pers. direct na desert vertrokken). Misschien hoort het bij de stijl, maar dat lijkt ons niet. Iets snellere opdiening en absoluut 5 sterren.

Heerlijk gegeten bij het Restaurant Zest. Vriendelijke bediening. Het restaurant was ruim opgezet en rustig ingericht. Het was niet druk toen wij er waren, wat ik niet begrijp. Het is zeker een van de betere restaurants in Valkenburg.

Heel lekker gegeten, duurde allemaal veel te lang helaas.

We hebben er heerlijk gedineerd voor een zeer schappelijke prijs. Een aanrader voor iedereen die wil genieten van eten dat met passie wordt bereid en met liefde voor het vak wordt opgediend. Een oprechte dank je wel aan het koppel dat onze avond helemaal heeft gemaakt.

The place to be when you visit Valkenburg!

Heerlijk gegeten. Alle gerechten waren zeer origineel en een explosie aan smaken. Bijpassende wijnen waren goed gekozen. Zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw. Voor ons had er alleen iets minder tijd tussen de gerechten mogen zitten. De inrichting is sober en omdat het maar half vol was, was de sfeer ook sober.

We hebben genoten van een lekker diner op zondagavond. We zijn tevreden van prijs, kwaliteit en bediening. Volgende keer in Valkenburg komen we zeker terug.

Een chef en gastvrouw met passie voor het vak. Heerlijk gegeten en bedankt voor de gastvrijheid.

The waitress was friendly and food was above average to good. The restaurant is kind of plain, not uncomfortable as they space out the tables but lacking in any ambience. There was only one waitress on duty and I suspect the kitchen is also under staffed as a 4 course meal took over 2.5 hour to complete. All the food is well executed and tasty but portions are a shade on the small side. If they increased the portions and were a little faster I would rate them much higher.

Fantastisch! Dit restaurant is vrij nieuw en geloof me, binnenkort zit het overvol als het een Bib Gourmand van Michelin krijgt. Oprechte keuken, super vers, goed gecombineerd en de aangepaste wijnen waren echt een super goede keuze. De bediening vonden we echt oprecht, niet uit de hoogte, met passie. Dit is een restaurant waar je gaat om gastronomisch te tafelen, en waar je toch "gewoon" kunt doen. Wij komen zeker terug.

Heerlijk gegeten, ook vegetarische gerechten van hoogstaand culinair niveau. Je wordt er warm ontvangen door de jonge gastvrouw. Aanrader, we komen zeker terug!
