Ristorante Contigo in Zandvoort Zuid

We had the schnitzel, very bad! Hard crust, deep-fried, strange taste.... Fries greasy and tasteless, salad on the plate dry. The chicken satay itself tasted good, but the satay sauce was watery. Worst pizzeria I have ever been to....we definitely won't be coming back here! Maybe the pizzas are good though.... Staff speaks English, which is also a shame.

These thieves prey on foreign tourists, ripping them off when the bill arrives. They don't give you the amount or the receipt, and once you're charged, you realize they've simply doubled the price: €86 for two plates of microwaved pasta and sparkling water. Avoid at all costs.

Spent four days in Zandvoort and ate at Contigo for four days, three of which were at Contigo, one of which was breakfast. The atmosphere is good, the service is good and friendly, and the owner is very friendly. The food is good and affordable; it is a comfortable place to sit with plenty of shade and a heated terrace. We were always welcomed in a friendly manner, even with a dog. Contigo really appealed to me and is highly recommended for a meal, and perhaps a good chat with the staff or the owner.

We had pizza and bruschetta. The pizza was bland and not recommended. Other Italian restaurants do it much better. The bruschetta was good and recommended.

The only Italian thing here is the color scheme of the Italian flag. This has nothing to do with an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, there's so much to improve that I don't know if it can be salvaged... especially considering the price, the experience was unacceptable. A bottle of water for €8?! I don't see the point. I ordered iced tea, and it arrived as bottled Lipton iced tea, carbonated... Great if you don't like that and it's not mentioned anywhere. The salad with chicken and avocado came without dressing and with a lot of chopped salad waste (the white, bitter bits) like you'd get at a kebab shop. No mushrooms, not even the tiniest piece of hard cheese. Instead of a proper salad dressing with vinegar and oil or balsamic vinegar, there was salad mayonnaise from a jar in a small bowl! Seriously? Who eats salad with discount mayonnaise?! They offered "cream dressing," but what arrived was more mayonnaise for the salad. That cost €18. The tomato soup was very tasty, but I've never received such a small portion (about the size of a coffee cup) for almost €8, and it came with a whole piece of baguette that was roughly 3 x 1.5 cm. That cost €43. I would have been better off going to Burger King; then I would have known what to expect. They both have something in common, though, with the difference being that here you end up with a stomachache from anger. The response speaks for itself. At least the initial response was a prime example of unprofessionalism, just like the food, which the owner quickly changed. I was told I didn't have any money, even though one of my watches costs more than several months' rent for his shop. Luckily, I had eaten elsewhere beforehand and only followed my partner for the salad. I'm glad; a professional apology would have been better, but my honesty has now been further validated. And thank you, but I don't need any more bad food, not even for free.

The pizza was unfortunately a disappointment. The mozzarella wasn't real cheese, but some kind of chemical concoction. It was hard and hadn't melted at all, and the whole thing was pretty tasteless. The service from the waitresses was good; I'd almost give them four stars. But the owner came out later and told us that the cheese was real and that we had no idea. And I had to order one, or rather two, Cokes because the menu didn't specify the size in cl, and what arrived cost €4.50: a 0.2l Coke with a 0.5l glass.

The food tasted good. But the service was awful. The restaurant wasn't even close to full, yet no one paid any attention to us for ages. Empty drinks, no one came to ask if we needed anything. The food took forever, and in the end, we were practically kicked out, even though it wasn't late. What a shame.

We had a delicious meal at Contigo. We were afraid it would be a tourist trap, but that was not the case at all. The food was delicious and the service was super fast and attentive. We will go again next time we are in Zandvoort.

The owner (grumpy) was sitting on the terrace smoking himself and instructing the staff. You immediately get a menu with cutlery, even if you only want a drink. You can tell the staff are walking on eggshells.

The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Even ketchup and mayonnaise were served in small plastic packets. What I experienced today is something I've never seen in my entire life. The self-proclaimed head waiter/maître d'hôtel apparently mistook his workplace for a harem. The way he treated the female staff was disrespectful and completely inappropriate. On top of that, there was his own demeanor: constantly with a cigarette in his hand, wearing dirty trousers, and utterly lacking in professionalism. Guests weren't even shown to their tables, but merely directed with hand signals – as if he were directing traffic at an intersection. At times, the way he treated the staff seemed like he was simply bossing people around instead of treating them with respect. Professional and respectful treatment of employees should be a given in a restaurant – and certainly not in front of all the guests. Because of this behavior, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Had a delicious Stake. It came on a hot plate! Penne arrabiata was also delicious. Friendly ladies working there and everything was served warm.

We ate a pizza on a cool and shady terrace. The pizza itself was a bit on the greasy side and contained a number of cold ingredients that are supposed to be warm. However, it is a nice place with very friendly staff.

We had another delicious meal, the service is always perfect, and the children always get a treat. It really gives us a bit of a holiday feeling when we are there. Definitely recommended.

The service was unfortunately terrible; our server seemed completely unenthusiastic and unfriendly. I had spaghetti with seafood, which was partially swimming in oil, and my husband had a pizza that was also very oily. It's a shame because the atmosphere was nice.

We ate at this restaurant twice during our short trip to Zandvoort. The service was good and the wait time was reasonable. The food wasn't anything special, but it tasted okay. What bothered us, however, was that the chef, even though he was wearing gloves, was holding his mobile phone while cooking. This unfortunately seemed rather unhygienic.

We spent the day at the beach today. Afterwards, we had a nice meal. The owner, a good man, had dropped a small glass of drink, so she got a new one on the house, and all the children got a free scoop of ice cream.

My order as an allergic person with excessive histamine levels was completely ignored. I ordered grilled sea bass, so that it would simply be grilled and salted. More than an hour of waiting for the order turned my dinner into a trap and hunger torture, as the chef added vegetables and sauces to the dish that I absolutely cannot have. There was no time to wait for another dish, and I ordered grilled chicken fillet, the waiter loudly dictated to the chef that it should be fillet without anything, only a little oil and salt. They brought a burnt piece of meat, they still put zucchini on it (although I asked for it without vegetables at all, well, zucchini is okay for me), I had to eat it, because I was extremely hungry and there were no other options and there was simply no time to wait for anything else. The chef apologized for the mistake, invited me to come the next day and cook the same fish for me for free as an apology. I came the next day - and for the second time in a row the chef ruined my dinner, because he made the same mistake - ignored that I was allergic, and added tomatoes with paprika and sauces to the salad. I really regret giving this place a second chance! Two dinners and my mood is completely ruined! I do not recommend it in any case, especially if you have special health needs!!! How you can fail twice in a row, I have no idea. Never again, even for free 🥵two hours of my life of rest under the tail of a perch… UPDATE: The owner of the place's response is a blatant lie to save his reputation. We PAID in full for the chicken dish on the first evening. It wasn't free. No "free alternative" cures a severe allergic reaction or brings back two days of a completely ruined vacation. Your chef TWICE ignored the medical restrictions of a customer with allergies and filled the dish with hidden triggers (tomatoes, peppers, sauces) that he was warned about. This is not just a mistake, it is a threat to human life and health. What you tried to convey through my husband the third perch after I left the establishment in tears does not cancel your negligence. Shame on you for lying and publicly gaslighting a person whose health you put at risk.

Delicious bruschetta, excellent pizza with generous toppings, a lovely thin crust, perfectly baked, friendly and attentive service, and a good tiramisu as a set menu at a fair price. We'll gladly come back.

The location is good, but the prices for the size of the pizza are way too high and unjustified. The location is good, right in the city center, and the food tastes okay, but on Friday evening we were completely ignored. We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food, and no one cared about us at all. We didn't receive any hot drinks or extras like extra Parmesan or spoons for our spaghetti, while the tables next to us did.

I had ribs and they were absolutely delicious! I ordered them without BBQ sauce because I don't like it. The carbonara was tasty, and so was the pizza with shrimp! The service was super friendly. Highly recommended!!!

Honestly, the best place for pasta in Zandvoort 😍 It’s actually really hard to find truly good pasta in a seaside town like this, but here — it’s on another level. I’ve traveled a lot and tried pasta in different countries, and for Zandvoort this is seriously outstanding. Definitely the top spot if you’re craving proper Italian pasta 🍝✨

The owner’s behavior was inappropriate and crossed boundaries, which made me feel uneasy. I would not come back and definitely do not recommend this place.

Contigo is centrally located in Zandvoort. The food is neither bad nor particularly good. I would rate it as average. The prices are somewhat high, but still reasonable. The service is courteous.

We happened upon this restaurant by chance because other restaurants were full and this one still had plenty of space. I don't understand the good reviews, unfortunately. The food looks good, but it either tasted of nothing or was very bland! The service was friendly, but you had to keep asking because the waiter forgot what you wanted. The prices are extremely overpriced, and what shocked me most was the sliced ​​canned pineapple on the pizza. It was truly unappealing, and the salad oil was simply placed in a plastic bottle. You could see that the oil and vinegar were of poor quality, and unfortunately, you could taste it too. So, we wouldn't come back!

Alright. While the sauce was good, the pasta was a little undercooked—not really worth the price. Our waitress wasn’t very welcoming—ignored once and impatiently told to wait (5-10min) for the check. We were sandwiched in an awkward corner with the storage closet behind one seat and the open door behind the other—in other words, squished. Other waitresses were friendly though.

We had spaghetti bolognese here yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, it didn't have much flavor. It's a shame the staff doesn't speak Dutch and looks at you strangely when you ask for a fork. (It was only served with a spoon.) And okay, maybe the wine glasses were in the dishes, but to order rosé in a small plastic glass is ridiculous. Because of the F1 show, it was pleasantly busy on the terrace where we were sitting. It's a shame we had to wait so long to pay the bill.

We were there last night (August 20, 2025) with two people and a small dog around 7:00 PM. We didn't have a reservation, but the owner gave us a table right away. It had a bit of a "Cosa Nostra, Sicilian feel." The staff is very friendly, and everything is served very quickly. The food was delicious, especially the pizza, which is much, much better than downstairs at "Andrea." We were there the day before. We'll be back next time. Good italian that has never disappointed me ever since we've moved in the neighbourhood. Unlike many 'new' restaurants on prospect road (whatever happened to mister Chan?? Or PunThai..). Good place to enjoy your italian food without the modern wishwash around food.

First of all: service in this restaurant is very friendly and attentive. However we have not been completely satisfied by the quality of the food. The tomato soup was good. However the lasagne did not taste very well. There was just not much flavour. On my opinion there could be improvement about the uses of spices. I can only talk for the lasagne as we did not taste anything else. Tiramisu was good. Still would not go there again as the price is not low, so I would expect better food.

Absolute disappointment – never again! The location of the restaurant in Zandvoort is truly beautiful, no question. It's all the more sad that the food here was by far the worst I've ever been served in my entire life. And that's saying something – in over 25 years of going to restaurants, I've never thrown away food. Unfortunately, I did here. I ordered a pizza with ham – parts of the ham were gray (!) and looked like they were already gone. I wanted to give it another chance, so I took the pizza home, but even that was a mistake. I felt nauseous just eating it – so much so that I later threw away the rest (over half). A little later, on the train back to Germany, I developed severe gastrointestinal problems and had to go to the bathroom almost every half hour. An absolute disgrace. The rest of the food wasn't any better: The tiramisu tasted like a cheap convenience store meal. The other people I was with had lasagna – all of them found it inedible. No one ate more than half. The service? Unenthusiastic and unfriendly. And we weren't the only ones with complaints – the neighboring tables also clearly expressed dissatisfaction. It wasn't a one-off bad experience, but apparently a general problem. A real disgrace for such a great location. I can only strongly advise against eating here – it's not only a waste of money, but in the worst case scenario, it's also a health risk.

I had a very good grilled lamb, served with fries, a small salad, and even some grilled vegetables and a delicious sauce. I've eaten at many restaurants, but their meat is a cut above the rest thanks to the way they serve it on a cast iron griddle, not to mention the quality of the ingredients... it's something you can't describe... you have to sit down and order. The owner is fantastic, the staff is very welcoming and professional. Kudos especially to the kitchen staff who work hard every day to serve the best food, and to the wait staff who take care of the restaurant and its cleanliness. They even offered me a coffee! What more could I ask for?

The food was absolutely delicious. However, I was struck by the way the staff were managed. The boss was constantly watching his employees, dragging them into the kitchen whenever they made a mistake, and they usually came out in tears. That was very unpleasant for me.

Unfortunately, a complete flop! We walked past looking for something tasty, which we did, but our food was absolutely terrible. The burger was cold, the fries soggy. The pasta was fried instead of boiled. The ribs were bland and tough. My wife canceled the pasta and got new ones. The waitress immediately recognized that the pasta was rancid. All in all, not a pleasant evening for a whopping €103. Never again!!!

Beautifully located with a pleasant outdoor dining area. The waitresses were also very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food, however, was really not good. If you pride yourself on being an Italian restaurant, you should at least be able to cook pasta. My tagliatelle was neither well-seasoned nor "al dente." It was quite hard. The Contigo salad was just dry pieces of chicken with iceberg lettuce. It was simply unloving. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

terrible service, the attendant was super rude, I expected more. Let’s be honest here — yes, you were rude. I’ve seen several comments below where you’re responding to customers. If you own a business, you need to learn how to treat your customers and how to accept criticism — especially constructive criticism. No one goes somewhere and complains for no reason. And from what I’ve seen, there are multiple complaints about your services — not just one, two, or three. Since you clearly don’t know how to deal with customers, maybe you should just close the restaurant and do something else. It’s extremely unprofessional on your part to treat customers this way. If we’re giving criticism, it’s because something isn’t right. And if something isn’t right, then it needs to be improved. If you can’t handle criticism, that’s your problem. And by the way, this space is made for people to complain — that’s exactly why there are comments here. But seriously, this is something you need to fix internally. Learn how to treat your customers better — they’re the ones keeping your business running. Without customers, you wouldn’t even be open.

The fish was an absolute disaster – so dry it could practically be packaged as dry food. Taste? None. Enjoyment? Even less so. The staff seem to be under pressure – and not in a good way. You've barely opened the menu and they're at your table for the third time, wanting to take your order. Hello? Maybe guests like to read before they decide. And then the Aperol Spritz: One was drinkable, the other so strong you'd think you'd accidentally ordered a schnapps. No consistency, no sensitivity – just poorly mixed. Conclusion: lousy food, annoying service, drinks a hit and miss. Absolutely not a recommendation.

For me, this has nothing to do with a real Italian restaurant. It's a typical tourist trap in Zandvoort. Nobody speaks Italian. The location is very nice, but that's about it. The quality of the pasta, which wasn't exactly cheap, was not up to expectations or what you would expect from Italian pasta. No pepper to season it. We ordered pepper twice, but they didn't bring it to our table. Instead, they tried to sell us drinks every few minutes at very high prices, even though our glasses were still half full. The waitress was already embarrassed by the third time. She must have done it on the owner's instructions. I advise the owner to go to a real Italian restaurant and try authentic Italian pasta dishes.
