Ristorante Pizzeria Il Castello in Wijk 33 Heerlen-Centrum

It was incredibly busy. We had to stand for 15-20 minutes for a table, even though we had a reservation. It has a cozy atmosphere, but upon closer inspection, you'll see it looks quite rickety and dusty. The tables are very close together. The pizza and pasta were delicious. However, the carpaccio we ordered in advance was fresh out of the freezer/refrigerator and tasted just like that, so I think it's overpriced. The service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I doubt I'll go back.

Tried the Vongole here a couple of weeks back, it was basically all salt, could barely taste the three small pieces of actual Vongole in the dish. This place has gone to ... in recent years. The main guy also thinks his customers should be on their knees for him, instead of the other way around. Do not recommend to go here, there are way better places around.

Went for dinner with 3 people last Saturday. Booked in advance and yes: a table is available on time. The food was fine considering the price. Friendly service. Perhaps a small point for improvement: there was a bit (too) much time between ordering and antipasti. But we will definitely go back and that really says it all.

We ate here on Sunday and it was very busy. Despite our reservation, we had to wait until a table was available and were then offered a drink on the house. The service was very friendly but my husband asked for a red wine and got a white. I had to ask for a spoon twice. The bruschetta with provolone was delicious and easy to share. The main courses: penne all'amatriciana and spaghetti carbonara were tasty, but the portion of spaghetti was quite small and I am not a glutton. All in all it took quite a while. The setting was beautiful and rustic. I recommend this place.

Unbelievable, maybe eaten here 100 times. Always delicious and super friendly staff!

Don't go here if you have allergies

Been there twice in the past 3 weeks. Had pasta with scampi for the first time, it was really great and yesterday I had a pizza that was also really delicious. Next time it will be a difficult choice which of the 2 it will be. Ps pizza looks a bit burnt in the photo, but this was not the case due to the light from my camera. 😅

Top restaurant. Excellent food, nice service-oriented service, nice atmosphere. Make a reservation, it is always very busy.

We expected more. Disappointed. Salad mista was a mountain of ready-made salad mix. Pizza had hardly any flavor and a soft base that was almost impossible to get through. The pollo (chicken) with mushroom truffle sauce for 23 euros was a piece of chicken with a mountain of sauce on top. And some fries with it. Service was friendly, but we missed the passion for the food. The restaurant itself looks cozy.

Went for dinner with friends of ours. The taste of the food was good, but the amount of food on a plate is very limited or the plates are too large. Especially compared to a starter, these were well served. Staff are friendly. Good to know for people who have difficulty walking: the toilet is located on the first floor.

Good food, top service, cozy. The Italian across the street creeps up on some guests and looks away at others. At Il Castello all guests are treated hospitably and pleasantly. Price and quality also better than competitor across the street.

Can't be happier:) Gluten free options are possible, quick service, very nice menu and more authentic Italian food than in any other places. Very nicely decorated.

Went today after several years of absence. Nice atmosphere. Nice staff and food was delicious. You wait a little longer, but that doesn't matter if you go out for dinner.

We had made a reservation and were assigned a spot, then after fifteen minutes they forgot about us and I asked if they had forgotten us and yes, they did. This really wasn't good.

The pizza was still quite tasty, but the waiter who helped us was downright rude and started arguing with several customers present. Very strange tent.

We had made a reservation at a quarter past 7, so we had to wait outside until the table was ready. When people walked out we were able to take a seat. There probably wasn't a table available. Furthermore, food was fine

Went for a family birthday dinner a couple of weeks ago. Service by the waiter (jasper I think?) was SCANDALOUS! DISRESPECTFUL! Honestly I was so speechless that I had to ask if he even was Italian (which he obviously wasn’t but of course for entertainment kept saying “SI SI SI”). And if you’re POC, please don’t go! I could tell there was a difference in treatment.

We didn't make a reservation but we were still able to get a table for 2. Delicious bruschetta starter and a very tasty main course. Rarely have you had such good Italian food (in the Netherlands 😉) absolutely recommended!!

Great food and drinks with top service!

A good experience that started when entering the restaurant: the atmosphere and location were great. Starter and main course excellent. The dessert, the tartufo, was Christmas on the cake. The only downside was that unfortunately I didn't get a second one.

Pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere in the restaurant and certainly by the old elements (architectural style/interior) of the restaurant. Service was fine. Staff are very friendly.

Centrally located in the city center, no parking spaces, friendly and quick staff, pizza was very tasty, we sat comfortably outside and enjoyed the view and weather.

I really enjoyed brushetta as well as the salad that was served as a side dish. But I thought the pizza tonno tasted mediocre. It was a gooey cheese mass with some tuna. The base was not crispy. I have eaten this better. The cappuccino was also mediocre, although I have had better.

Busy evening, staff on autopilot. Poorly tapped lager, soggy half-cooked pizzas, little taste of lasagna. Unfortunately not worth repeating.little passion and attention.......

We were rejected because we didn't know how to make a reservation, apparently asking for an explanation about the reservation is too much to ask those guests. Just explain how that,s all!!.

Been the first time. Nice ambiance. Had a reservation but had to wait a few minutes for a table. Was quite busy. Ordered a starter and tagliatelle with salmon. The latter was reasonable. Maybe better next time.

Food was good, but pasta portions were small, especially for the price Staff were lovely and cheerful. Bruschetta was a bit tasteless, though a good size. No home-made bread.

Gezellige sfeer, fijn personeel en heerlijk eten. Pizza, pasta en vooral de lasagne was overheerlijk.

We hebben met 5 personen gedineerd. Erg lang moeten wachten op voorgerecht. Brood werd niet meegeleverd. Er werd gevraagd of we hoofdgerecht direct aansluitend wilden gebruiken dit werd door ons als zodanig aangegeven. Vervolgens meer dan 1 uur gewacht. Vleesgerecht wat als medium gebakken werd gevraagd werd niet als zodanig geserveerd. Ook bij tweede poging was dit niet het geval. Bij betalen van rekening stonden 3 desserts op onze rekening die wij niet geconsumeerd hadden. Als verontschuldiging werd aangedragen dat het erg druk was (op dat moment was restaurant half leeg)

Food is good, but had to wait more than an hour for the food to arrive. No toilet paper in the ladies restrooms, one of the men's restrooms was out of order.

Heerlijk eten, niet te duur, service van het personeel is echt top en heeft een hele gezellige knusse sfeer.

donderdag 14-09-2023 wezen uiteten bij Il Castello. Leuke sfeer, mooi restaurant, uitgebreide keus aan eten, aardig personeel, goede prijs kwaliteit. Zeker een bezoekje waard!!!

Beste pizza van Heerlen! Great pizza, still haven't tried different dishes, but pizza is excellent. Pricewise also reasonable. Usually pretty busy, lots of people, if you want a table on the weekend best make a reservation a day before. I guess the fact that it usually is pretty full is a proof the place is worth visiting😉 Very friendly staff, highly recommended!

Zeer vriendelijk en professioneel personeel. Het eten was erg lekker. Wij hebben pizza's, pasta en een dessert gegeten. De prijzen hiervoor waren prima. Zeker niet te hoog. Wij gaan hier vaker terugkomen.

De pizza's waren echt fantastisch en je kunt er heel betaalbaar eten . Restaurant was ook heel erg schoon . Enige minpuntje was dat het wat lang duurde voordat je bestelling werd opgenomen. Maar het personeel was wel heel erg vriendelijk

Hadden tegen 20:00 tafel gereserveerd. Werden erg snel geholpen ookal zat het restaurant helemaal vol. Wilden erg graag pizza eten, helaas waren de deegballetjes allemaal al op. Aan de ene kant wel jammer, aan de andere kant een goed teken dat alles daar vers wordt bereid. Uiteindelijk lekkere spaghetti en ravioli gegeten met een broodmand van het huis gratis bij gekregen als goedmaker voor de pizzas die op waren.

Goed eten en vriendelijke bediening!

Erg lekker gegeten. Een hele lekkere pizza, en mijn dochter spaghetti met garnalen. Mijn dochter een heel lekkere tiramisu na.
