The food is excellent, with a wide selection, moderately priced, and friendly service. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the decor is a bit understated, missing the Italian feel.

Very bad service. Always been a regular customer but the people who work there are not nice at all. not nice is putting it mildly, they are very ill-mannered people. After years of eating they still treat you like trash. Misplaced pride!

Delicious pizzas. The toppings are great. We ate the Burrata, crudo and fungi misti 😋 And Casalinga, with egg ☺️

Spontane bezoek met mijn gezin. Was op die avond geen plaats maar vanaf 20;00 uur was het wel weer mogelijk. Wij kregen een gezellig tafel achterin de restaurant. Het bedienend personeel was heel aardig en opmerkzaam vlot. Broodjes met truffel en knoflookboter als voorgerechten (anders zit je zo vol). Wij kozen allemaal voor pizza’s. Het smaakte heerlijk verse ingrediënten wij vonden het allemaal super lekker. Heerlijk toetjes gegeten waaronder carnoli’s , ijs dn onder genot van een cappuccino. wij komen zeker weer terug

Large and well lit. That was different thirty years ago. I ate a folded pizza here after a pub crawl. There's a word for that that escapes me. That may have something to do with the beer walk. The folded pizza was delicious.

A few days ago I went here with a lot of people, the pizza was given after a long time and there was a lot of oil on it and it was not tasty, it gave me a stomach ache and I want my money back

Cozy restaurant with a real Italian atmosphere. Extensive menu with very tasty dishes. Also very good pizzas. Very friendly and attentive service. Had a nice evening!

It was okay! My pizza was tasty but water from the vegetables came out onto the pizza which made it soggy. Service is very friendly, but it took some time before they came by (this is the case in many places in Leiden)

Karalis is a Leiden classic. Big place, always busy and good, but sometimes a bit inexperienced, service. The pizzas and pastas are 'classic'. Just good, but a bit conservative in terms of flavors.

Ce restaurant est une véritable "pizzeria-ristorante" comme on peut en trouver à tous les coins de rue en Italie. La carte propose tous les classiques de la cuisine italienne. Recettes traditionnelles et produits d'origine italienne. (À part l'eau qui est celle d'une eau de source liégeoise rachetée par un géant américain des soft drinks... C'est le seul petit détail qui nous rappelle que l'on n'est pas en Italie) Le service est simple et convivial. Le rapport qualité-prix est très correct. Ce restaurant (situé un tout peu en dehors du centre, au sud de la ville) vaut vraiment le détour.

Very good pizzeria, if you are used to real Italian pizza this is "the place to be". Good pizza, tasty and well topped. I've had takeaway pizzas with tiramisu for dessert, but in my opinion they have the best Tiramisu here. Highly recommended.

My favorite Italian in Leiden. Sometimes you have to wait a while, but then you get a delicious pizza.

Had a drink and a bite to eat on Monday. Due to the traffic jam we couldn't get out of Leiden, and a sweet lady from this restaurant offered us a drink. In addition to the incredibly friendly attitude of the staff, the food was also incredibly delicious. I would 100% come back here for something more extensive!

Were with a group of 12 people and everyone was enthusiastic. We were all served a delicious plate of food at the same time and the evening could hardly go wrong. The food is good and the service was great. A big 10

A pizzeria where you can order something other than pizza with confidence. Fish was fine and the sirloin steak was also great. There may have been a little too much salt on the fries, but otherwise highly recommended. A place to return to again.

Ate with friends. All four satisfied. Pizzas are good and filling. The wine is matching. Very busy, therefore noisy. Space in the back will help. Book on time!

We came to this restaurant through Leiden's restaurant week. Upon entering it feels wonderfully warm, literally and figuratively. The food is fresh, looks neat and tastes delicious. The staff is very hospitable and cooperative. Highly recommended!

Just had dinner and what a wonderful experience it was! Top service! We were able to go last minute and could even choose from two tables. Great alert and friendly hostess. Pleasant atmosphere, delicious pizzas with fresh ingredients and surprising flavor combinations. I had pizza Sarna, the sheep's cheese was incredibly creamy and tasty. Nice to be able to take a look in the kitchen where the chef was working hard. We will DEFINITELY be back and recommend everyone to go!!

Afgelopen woensdag met vrienden sinds jaren weer bij Karalis gegeten. Wij hebben genoten van een super driegangenmenu (via Tripper) . Wij zijn vol lof over het zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel en hopen dit keer niet zo lang weg te blijven!

Heerlijke tent! Goed eten, goede service en een prima sfeer!

Eten goed, jammer dat 1 van ons eerder zn eten kreeg dan de rest. De sfeer is niet zo, het is er heel licht, hangt een felle lamp recht boven je tafel, zou er niet heengaan om romantisch te dineren.

A very cosy atmosphere and great food!

Eten is prima, bediening was netjes. Inrichting nogal sfeerloos en gehorig en de prijzen liggen toch net wat hoger dan de inrichting suggereert. Desondanks zaten we wat langer, met broodje vooraf, paar flesjes wijn, voorgerechtje en dan pizza of pasta. Een aantal kozen daarom voor een kleine (kinder)pizza. Fijn dat men daar niet moeilijk over doet voor volwassenen. Alleen kan je niet uitleggen dat die kinderpizza dan duurder is dan de normale versie ervan. De kinderpizza en de ingrediënten worden namelijk apart aangeslagen. Als voorbeeld, een MINI quattro stagioni was €17,50 (normaal €13,50). Op een andere pizza werd €3,25 voor een paar snippers burata en €2,50 voor 3 blaadjes rucola berekend. Nu begrijp ik waarom een kinderpizza voor een volwassene geen enkel probleem was!

Is wat minder geweest maar Karalis is weer terug...fijne plek.

As usual Karelis doesn’t disappoint. Decent pizzas in a cozy laid back atmosphere. Service could be a little more attentive but there is labor shortage so it not easy to attract the best people. Kept it at 5 stars

Ristorante trovato per caso passeggiando per Leida. Avrei mangiato la pizza ma con le buone proposte offerte sono andato sulla carne. Controfiletto con funghi e tartufo eccezionale , come anche le verdure grigliate. Buono anche il caffè. Si vede la mano italiana. Ottimo servizio,educato e cortese. Ottima esperienza

This place is a must when you feel nostalgic or when you simply want to eat comfort and home feeling food. I love the fact that independently of your choice, if it is either a primo, a pizza or a secondo, you cannot go wrong. I love the trio starter selection and the fried fish is heaven. Ingredients are really good and wine selections are great. Orlando, the owner is so caring and everyone is always with a smile. I absolutely and always recommend!

A great Italian dinner with a great menu (including vegetarian options) at very reasonable prices! Lots of locals which usually is a the best sign. The vegetarian ravioli was terrific and the made in house tiramisu - outstanding ! My wife loved her pizza.

Absolutely fantastic. The food is delicious, I had the mushroom starter and the ravioli. From where I was sitting I could see how they make pizzas- it looked amazing! I’m definitely coming back to try the pizza! Apart from the food being great the service is also something to mention, absolutely everyone was extremely kind and accommodating. 100% recommend. Also, I went with my under 1.5 year old, and everyone was extremely kind about it, from the hostess, to the waitresses/waiters and the cooks in the kitchen!

Een net restaurant ook leuk voor de kinderen. Helaas stond er op de website dat er schnitzel was op de kinderkaart. Maar helaas op de papieren kinderkaart was dat niet meer zo. Vind het drinken daarin tegen wel heel erg duur! Smaak van de pizza was lekker

Heb enkele jaren in Italië gewoond en sindsdien vind ik het moeilijk een lekkere pizza te vinden in Nederland, maar de pizza van Karalis is heerlijk!

Met een hele grote groep dames wezen eten en alles was perfect geregeld! Eten, drinken en service was top. Erg gezellig!

Misverstand over het eten maar werd meteen opgelost. Vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk gegeten, ook goed betaalbaar!

Wat een clusterf#ck experience is dat geworden Karalis.... 🤣. Eten is bijzonder slecht bediening idem dito. Een uur moeten wachten op een Parmigiana die ik zelf beter maak en vervolgens na een half uur wachten nog geen hoofdgerecht in aantocht. Voortijdig het etablissement verlaten.

Karalis waar is het mis gegaan? Jarenlang goed bij jullie gegeten maar vandaag (besteld via Thuisbezorgd) was het niet best. De ravioli was droog en gewoon echt niet lekker. De spaghetti bolognese is ook echt beter geweest dan dat we nu voor geschoteld hebben gekregen en van de titamisu was niet veel terug te zien ( wellicht door een wilde rit van de bezorger). Jammer. Hopelijk eten we een volgende keer weer als vanouds.
