Delicious Italian dishes, with a super-tasty tiramisu for dessert. This family-run restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

I discovered this restaurant in 2022, the pizzas were always amazing until 2024. However, I visited recently (Mai 2025) and I was really disappointed by the pizzas. Way too much flour on the pizza (it was not enjoyable at all to eat the pizza), a tomato sauce that doesn't have any taste, and a mushroom & truffle pizza without any taste of truffle (quite difficult as truffle is quite strong in taste...). So it made the pizza quite expensive for what it was... It is sad to see that the quality changed that much in few years.

Visited this restaurant in a Thursday evening and it was full. Recommended to book in advance. The food was fresh and delicious, we tried pasta and meat. Also has a small terrace if the weather is good

Absolutely amazing hidden gem! The best truffel pasta in South-Holland perhaps even in the Netherlands. The service was great. It had a cozy and comforting authentic Italian atmosphere that we love. The best tiramisu I have ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! ✨

Although we have enjoyed coming here for years, we are still regularly surprised. Today we ate this delicious dish. A real treat for our senses. Thanks to the nice atmosphere, the friendly staff, the small gifts (such as a tasty starter or something new to taste), we remain a frequent guest.

I have never had such a delicious meal as at VA BENE. The food is very tasty, the presentation is top notch, the portions are generous, the service is sharp and friendly. Plus, a quick wait between dishes. For me it was a party and a treat to eat here!! It was like I was in Italy for a while! We'll be back here soon.

Grandioos, we kunnen niet anders zeggen. Zeer verfijnd Italiaans eten. We hebben tagliatelle uit een kaaswiel gegeten en dat was om je vingers bij af te likken. De amuse van het huis bruschetta was ook al geweldig, precies zoals bruschetta hoort te smaken. De bediening is attent en erg professioneel. Een geweldige ervaring om hier te eten. We komen zeker terug.

Hier met vriendin gegeten. Antipasta van verschillende gerechten was heel lekker maar prijzig. Hoofdgerecht zwaardvis en vlees was prima. Echter een fles wijn van € 33 die in de supermarkt te koop wordt aangeboden voor iets meer dan € 5,- dan maak je het wel heel bont. Overigens redelijk van smaak. Overige aangeboden wijnen waren overigens zeker niet spectaculair. Een gemiste kans om kwaliteitswijnen van bekende huizen aan te bieden. Onze ober maakte op zijn manier grapjes maar wij herkenden de humor niet zo. Jammer want deze zaak heeft zeker potentie.

Va bene (formerly La Donna Fugata) has been my favorite restaurant for years. Delicious Italian food, super fresh. It is always a pleasure to eat here, combined with Italian hospitality. There is time for a chat, I always feel very welcome here.

My friend made a reservation for us to dine at Va Bene, and I must say that everything exceeded our expectations. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the welcoming atmosphere made our evening even more enjoyable. Aida in particular was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home, which made the experience even more wonderful. Congratulations to the entire team for creating such a wonderful dining experience!

Van lunch in de Schoolstraat naar diner in de Voorstraat. Logé kennis laten maken met de gezelligheid van de Voorschotense horeca.

This is a great place to go in Voorschoten. So very good. Reservations are recommended and according to the owner there are in principle no dining shifts. It's nice not to have to look at the clock. Food is really tasty. I wanted one thing different and that was no problem. So solved. Then you are really a guest. Although the restaurant was not completely full, it was noisy so we could not hear each other well. Was it already clear that you could eat very well here? So that. Worth repeating.

Delicious food, beautifully laid out plates, staff all equally sweet and attentive (waitress honestly reported that the chef said that seafish soup is a large dish and that we could perhaps order less). Mother celebrated her birthday here because the staff was so incredibly sweet to my Malinois that same week. Also at lunch they constantly came to see if they could refill his drinking bowl and - without any questions from us - a carafe was even placed down to refill his bowl in the short intervals. Very much appreciated. Absolutely recommended. Desert tiramisu with limocello was finger licking good, as was the Mediterranean fish soup. 💯🌻👍

The second best Italian in the center of Voorschoten. A bit of a clown car. The owner (?) spent the entire time chatting with the regulars. He would have been better off coaching the inexperienced team and helping out at bottlenecks. Restaurant wasn’t full, but the poor man at a table near me, embarrassed, finally went to the bar to ask yet again for his wine. Later he had to do it again for the woman’s beer… Wine is not suggested and you have to ask extra for the wine list. Getting a menu also costs effort. Having said all that, I would go back. The staff were very friendly and the food was ok (not great, but definitely ok). You just need to be in a relaxed mood. I would not recommend it to someone. At the end of the evening the owner (?) brought out his guitar and sang a song in Italian and one in Dutch (again, ok but not great). The enterprise feels like an ego-project. As my wife commented when I told her about it, the Bar Rescue guy could work wonders here.

Had a very nice evening with the two of us. Delicious food, there is also plenty of choice for vegetarians (even outside the menu). Service was very friendly and despite a full restaurant, we did not have to wait very long for the dishes and enough attention was paid to empty glasses, etc.

Heerlijk gegeten. Vers en met zorg bereid. Eigenaar Vito en zijn medewerkers zijn ontzettend lief en gastvrij. Een aanrader!!

Prima restaurant. Aardige bediening. Wij namen vlees voor 2 personen. Dit was een gerecht buiten kaart. We schrokken ons een hoedje. Bij afrekenen moesten we 180 euro voor dit gerecht betalen. Dus wel een aanbeveling maar was netjes als ze ons even vooraf hadden geïnformeerd.

Een voortreffelijk menu genoten op Valentijnsdag met vrouw en dochter. Er werd een heerlijk 4 gangen menu geserveerd en voor de dochter werd er een menu gecreëerd dat aangepast was op haar smaak-voorkeuren. Echt een aanrader voor een goede Italiaanse ervaring, met de bijbehorende gezellige bediening.

Ate here on Valentine's Day. The food was very tasty and affordable. The service was good even though something went wrong. Demonstrate their customer service by solving the error immediately.

This is really worth visiting! The food is gastronomic quality and I have never had the same meal twice but always enjoy seasonal fresh ingredients and great Italian cooking. The staff are so friendly too and make it an authentic Italian experience. Our waiter Timo was so charming!

Nice restaurant with nice service. It is clearly not a pizzeria: it is better not to order pizzas here. A first look at the pizza when it was delivered actually said enough. Very bland pizza with tasteless ingredients. It would make a big difference if the chef could make well-risen pizza dough. Now it looked like dough from a pack from the supermarket (and poorly processed into a pizza). They clearly can't make a good/tasty pizza here.

Our favorite. What a nice restaurant this is. Never regretted going here and we have been there quite a few times over the years. Delicious food, friendly service, nice atmosphere.

It’s mind blowing what these people get away with. What in heavens name are they doing in their kitchen? You order mushroom soup, they give you a plate with mushroom sauce. If you ask about it, they just flat-out say; oh, yeah the cook forgot to dilute the sauce to make soup out of it. No apologies. Then they serve you a piece of tuna which is clearly microwaved. Any company can make mistakes, and they could have corrected it in some elegant way. Instead, they don’t apologize, make up excuses, and make sneaky jokes about the person who complains.

Prachtig sfeervol restaurant. Heerlijk gegeten. Je bent wel even een paar uurtjes weg. Maar alles wordt vers bereid. Wij vinden het allerlaatste stuk vlees van het hoofdgerecht iets te zwaar als laatste van het menu. Het hoort een combinatie van vlees en vis te zijn. Wij vroegen geen vis te brengen omdat we geen visliefhebbers zijn. In het voorgerecht kwam er toch vis bij. Wij zeiden nee geen vis, maar hij vond dat we het moesten proberen. Het hoofdgerecht kwamen ze dus weer met ook vis. Dat hebben we geweigerd. En werd keurig opgelost met vlees. Maar net iets te machtig. Beslist heel vriendelijk personeel en aangenaam vertoeven daar.

Heerlijk eten, neem wel de tijd, maar dan krijg je ook wat. De bediening is super vriendelijk en deskundig. Wij vinden het een aanrader

Op zich een aardig restaurant in een straat met meerdere eetgelegenheden. De gerechten waren niet bijzonder maar oké. De kennis van wijnen en zeker de mooie Italiaanse ontbreekt. Probeer geen fles te verkopen als je weet dat de gekozen gerechten qua smaak sterk verschillen. Serveer ook geen rode wijn bij het dessert, zeg dan sorry wij hebben op dit moment geen bijpassende wijn voor jullie. De bediening maakt de avond nog enigszins goed. De volgende keer lopen wij wel door naar een van de andere gelegenheden in deze straat.

Sehr gemütlicher Italiener mit hervorragendem Essen. Die Antipasti Platte ist sehr zu empfehlen! Man kann schön draußen sitzen und den Abend genießen. Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut.

Eten super lekker echt top. Alleen de wachttijd is niet goed we hebben 2.30 uur gewacht tot we echt ons hoofdgerecht kregen. Maar verder is het personeel heel aardig en het is mooi ingericht.

Gisteren met mijn meisje bij Van Bene wezen eten. Wij werden vriendelijk ontvangen door het Italiaanse personeel, de service is vriendelijk en heeft oog voor de gasten. Wij hadden het 4 gangen chef menu gevraagt zonder de kaart te bestuderen. Ik kan alleen maar zeggen het was heerlijk. Vito heeft met zijn keukenteam getoverd, het eten was authentiek Italiaans, puur en smaakvol. De planken (to share) waren leuk opgemaakt, wat bij de kwaliteit van het eten paste. Het was een geslaagde avond en we gaan zeker vaker daar eten.

Zonder reservering op een zaterdag kunnen eten bij een heerlijke Siciliaanse restaurant. Vriendelijke en meedenkende personeel. Heerlijk gegeten en een goede sfeer!

Er zijn best veel goede restaurants in deze regio , maar slechts een enkele zijn echt top , en daar is deze er eentje van . Verrukkelijke anti-pasti , heerlijk gezouten vis gegeten en niet te vergeten de vriendelijke bediening . gewoon top !
