Great food and service. The ice cream is equally delicious.

A place that truly feels like a pancake farm. Authentic pancakes and some more exotic ones for those who prefer them. Desserts are also highly recommended.

Really like the restaurant, food taste varies, but not bad at all. Sometimes they make mistakes but everything is amendable. Great playground for the kids outside and very nice atmosphere inside

It's essentially a farmhouse with a focus on hospitality. The farm has a very modern feel with a stylish dining room. The restaurant serves mainly pancakes, from sweet to savory. There's a lovely playground for children, as well as chickens, goats, sheep, and a giant rabbit. You can also sit outside under parasols. For me, the restroom was the highlight. You wouldn't expect to find something so wonderful on a farm. The staff is very friendly.

The Van der Valk family has a great concept. One downside: the food is pricey. A bit of a shame for families on a low income. There are plenty of staff, significant investments have been made, and admission to the farm and playground equipment is free. That has to be funded somehow.

Nice location, with a variety of tastes for ice cream lovers. However, the menu for food can be updated hence most of the items are based on pancake so there will be a few options which are not pancakes. For instance more salads can be suitable for summer.

Enjoy a delicious meal while sitting among the animals. There's a large playground right next to the restaurant, but you can also combine it with a lovely walk in the surrounding area or a visit to the nearby nature playground. It's also a great place to simply enjoy a cup of coffee.

The food is very mediocre. As a vegetarian or vegan, you have almost no options here! The tomato soup looks like it came from a can, enhanced with a little cream and parsley, definitely not fresh! The fries were lukewarm and cooled down quickly if you were placed near an open door. The bread board was tasty, though. The chefs didn't look very professional at first glance. Well, what can you expect at Van der Valk? You have to like the atmosphere; lots of families with running and noisy children. They won't be seeing me again. Addition after the owner's comment: The soup was definitely not fresh!! A blatant lie. Not a word about the lukewarm fries and the positioning near the open door. There's no such thing as a quiet meal here, which is fine if you don't mind that – it's still a disguised food court.

Delicious, the best pancake ever! I always order the same pancake with cheese, pineapple, and ginger everywhere. While I usually get a cheese pancake with loose pineapple and a mound of ginger in the middle, this time everything was perfectly combined in the batter. It makes for a firm pancake, but not half-baked, but nicely cooked with a crispy crust. Truly fantastic! The staff is super friendly, the location is completely modern, beautiful, sleek, and peaceful, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I'd never been here before, I was out with friends who come here regularly, but Tante Tokkie stole my heart ♡

Lovely seating on the patio. Friendly service. Plenty of parking. Delicious food. Nice playground for the kids and a small petting zoo. Tip: in this hot weather, put up some parasols on the side. There aren't enough shade spots at the moment.

Well, Van der Valk arranged everything perfectly. The food is excellent. There's a nice playground for the kids, a lovely terrace, and ample parking.

We had some surprisingly good pancakes! We weren't expecting much more than a half-playground, but the pancakes were incredibly crispy and generously topped. I'll definitely be back!

What a cozy spot! You can sit here wonderfully surrounded by greenery, overlooking the cows—almost like you're on vacation. The cakes are delicious, and the atmosphere is super friendly. It's also child-friendly, with plenty of room to play. It's the kind of place you'll want to linger for a while.

This is our fourth visit and that turned out to be a disaster. The food order was a ham & cheese tosti and 2 croquettes with brown bread. The tosti slides bread is oversized, burned and was definitely not the quality expected. The other dish is fine. A cappucino was served without any sugar and not even asked by the waitress. I went to search for it and found a crumbled pack at the nearby service station. The real kicker here is that there are many, many black flies pests who constantly attacked my Moms tosti including my dish too. No attempt was made to resolve this by any of the employees. A very nasty experience. I recommend that a staff training for better service and to scout the market to find a device who can keep the flies at bay.

Had a nice hot chocolate, nice playground for the kids and a nice area with animals (chickens and further on sheep, goats and alpacas). We happened to see that an ultrasound was made on an alpaca that turned out to be very pregnant. Super fun, so in about a year there will be a little alpaca 🥰

It was very nice there. There's a lot on offer, especially for children. The food was delicious, and the ice cream is highly recommended. There are animals there to observe and some to pet.

The staff was very child friendly

We had a reservation and were put upstairs. That is not convenient with small children who want to play outside and a very young baby that we had in the stroller. There was no elevator so we could not easily go back and forth. There was also no quiet corner to feed the baby. The changing room was much too small. All in all not convenient with children. Food was good. Ice cream very tasty.

The ice cream didn't have much flavor and wasn't cold enough. Within a minute it was already leaking and from then on it was a battle to keep up with the leaking and eat the ice cream quickly.

Asked for a tub of ice cream with 2 scoops. Got the answer that it only started with 3 scoops. A bit strange because I also saw small tubs. Why can't you get 2 scoops of ice cream at an ice cream parlor? I think 3 is too much and so I threw the rest away

Had a wonderful day out here with the kids. Beautiful green area with some animals. A chicken that quietly walks around freely between the terrace and a nice playground for the children. Nice menu, attentive service. An ice cream parlor full of choices next to the restaurant and free parking.

We had an ice cream here with 5 people. The bulbs are loose. As a result, an ice cream fell straight to the floor, the flavors are disappointing. And in 1 ice cream we found a piece of frozen chlorine in it! All ice creams are on the floor or in the trash! You pay 2.30 per bulb for this. Also really very small. Moments in Voorschoten is really great. Unfortunately I cannot add photos here.

Aunt Tokki is great... Except for one thing: there are no parasols on the playground side and around the corner: with a bit of nice weather and hardly any wind like today, you can just burn away with your (small) child: quickly grab some parasols, then you have a choice of shade and we don't have to flee: we will happily come to this place again!

A catering facility on a beautiful piece of land behind the former Gouden Leeuw restaurant in Voorschoten. In a beautiful modern building with a thatched roof there is a catering facility where you can eat breakfast, lunch and brunch. This facility can also be rented for parties and events. There is an outside terrace with service. Also adjacent is a playground for the children. And there are a number of modern stables with chickens and sheep, among other things. Also an outdoor area with animals including alpacas. You can approach all of these up close. There is also an ice cream parlor in the catering building with homemade ice cream in many delicious flavors. Scoops in an oublie cone or bowl possible. There are regularly fun things to do in the building. In the different seasons, attention is paid to the theme of the season. Keep an eye on the site for this! To replace the large Golden Lion restaurant, an establishment has now been built under the name Kleine Leeuw. Here you can dine as you could in the former restaurant. . A beautiful place to visit!!.

Cozy lunch spot for families Had lunch here with the family after a visit to the Keukenhof. Aunt Tokkie has a wide choice: from pancakes to well-filled salads. The crispy chicken salad was delicious and just what I needed. The children had a great time in the playground and with the animals. Got a nice ice cream inside to finish. Aunt Tokkie stands for good service, quality and delicious food. Really aimed at families, with plenty to do for the kids. Then stop by the Valk Versmarkt for a good piece of meat. Recommended!

Loved this place. The farm is at a perfect cycling distance from Leiden to work the appetite for a heavy pancake. The hosts were warm, friendly, and served us well. The property has a lot of animals around to see and beautiful to walk around. There is a kids play area and it felt like a fun place to visit for families.

Today we enjoyed Tante Tokkie. We went here for lunch for a birthday. We wanted something different from the standard lunch spots in the center and what a great experience it was! A beautiful and clean location where you can choose from many different dishes from the menu. Especially pancakes, but they have much more than that! We had a tosti, the croquettes, the snitzel, a large bittergarnituur and a fries stew. Good choices! We also got ice cream and they all tasted delicious! The staff was very friendly. Really recommended to go there! There were also many facilities for children and the toilets were also very clean (I didn't expect it after the many adults and children who went before me, it is cleaned well).

Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. Be aware tho, you’ll have to pay for tap water. You get a hamburger where the bread will be frozen, and coffee out of a nespresso machine.

Very pleasant to sit while the children play in the playground. You will receive friendly help, but sometimes you have to wait a little longer. The food is very good, but a bit pricey. Nice that there are also animals walking around and that you can get an ice cream in the ice cream parlor. The sand in the playground is very dirty, they could make better play sand from this. Now the children are getting very dirty.

Electric fences everywhere. Very child and animal unfriendly. accidentally held an electric fence. I can hardly move my hands. This is not an electric fence but an electrocution. There is too little warning sign. I missed the warning sign that caused this to happen. I have now arrived home and feel in a very bad state.

Edit: Thank you for your polite feedback! My first problem was with a young brunette guy. I ordered a cup of ice cream, went to the cashier to pay, and he swiped the cup and threw it right in front of me. The second one was with a blonde, middle-aged woman. She noticed that we were having trouble making up our minds and changed her tone and spoke aggressively. I know it was raining outside and she was busy with other things, but it’s still best to be polite. The employees are very rude. The ice cream is not bad. If the farm environment was not nice, I would never go!

Eating ice cream at Tante Tokkie is a party in itself. Can recommend it.

Great pancakes & friendly service in a modern restaurant

I thought the food was mediocre, small sandwich with too little toppings. Not comparable to a real van der Valk. Furthermore, it was really annoying that dogs were allowed into the restaurant. It immediately feels a lot less hygienic. I didn't think it was worth repeating.

Simply no longer possible to pay in cash! Really very disappointed. My little girl wanted to buy an ice cream with her savings, so that is simply no longer possible without a bank card. I won't be back!

I thought it would be fun to eat pancakes here with my wife and little one because I read a lot of good reviews. However, when I heard that it was only possible to pay by card, we skipped eating here.

Location is beautiful. Food very mediocre. Salad was tasteless. After my question, a dash of dressing was added. Two slices of bacon on granddaughter's pancake. The whipped cream on Irish coffee was gone when it was served. Bad aerosol cream. Service didn't know the answer to anything, wine, salad, everything they had to ask. If you were to serve such a menu in the city, with 100s of restaurants, you would have no chance of existing.

Pancake tasted good and nice staff who regularly walk by to make sure everything is okay...definitely a nice place for cyclists to make a pit stop. Maybe install bicycle charging stations, which will certainly be an asset

Ice cream is delicious there! Tastes that it is homemade. It's nice to go there, it's cozy and there's plenty of room to sit.

When you enter, no one says hello, except the lady at the ice cream parlor. We come in with a child, we have to get a high chair ourselves, pencils and a coloring page are not offered even though it is there... then the food/drink is taken by a lady who had the appearance that she didn't feel like it... Unfortunately, they do not have any other cutlery for children (or was not offered). And when we left we didn't say hello again... it's a real shame... the surroundings and the playground are nice, but the staff ruins it so much.

Nice to go with the children, especially when the weather is nice because all activities are outside. The changing area for babies is on the wall in a hallway, not near the toilets. There is no trash can next to it, so you have no way to lose your diaper. Then you have to look for a trash can after which you have to take your baby to the restaurant to wash your hands. Not useful from a parents' perspective. Recommended: install a diaper pail and a sink so that you can easily take the little ones with you. Furthermore, the staff is friendly, service-oriented and alert. Great food, very sharp knives (meat knives) for the kids alone.
