Beautiful and nice place with good food

Pleasant terrace, good food, but I found the service a bit pushy. They wanted us to place an order quickly, while we wanted to wait a little longer.

Unfortunately, our visit to Hudson was a bit disappointing. There were an awful lot of wasps, which meant we couldn't really eat in peace and enjoy ourselves. The meat was okay, but certainly not particularly tasty and was a bit of a letdown. The meat came with a green herb sauce, but we really didn't like it. All in all, the food wasn't bad, but for us, it's definitely not worth repeating. A shame, because we had expected more.

Recently, we had dinner at Hudson Nieuwegein with 3 friends. Quite spontaneously, because we didn't know where we were going to eat. What a great experience. Very friendly staff and very tasty food. Lots of choice, also plenty for vegetarians. Our group had mixed dietary preferences and there was something for everyone. We arrived at 5 pm and stayed until almost closing time, and the staff were partly responsible for that; it was that friendly and pleasant. Shout out to Desi, Michelle, and Jasper for the excellent service, advice on the dishes, and hospitality. None of us live near Nieuwegein, but we will definitely eat there again. Highly recommended!

The food is meager; a kids' menu with fries and 5 pieces of chicken for 12.50. Ordering extra chicken is a hassle. And the food is very disappointing. A club sandwich for almost 14 euros costs less than 5 euros to make. Very bad indeed! Not recommended!

Coming and going Back and forth Time and time again

Actually very disappointing. The bread roll beforehand was a whole baguette to cut yourself; fine in itself, but the baguette was cold. Ordered steak with chimichurri, but it seemed more boiled than fried. Tasteless, very tough, couldn't be saved with salt and pepper or the chimichurri. My husband had spareribs that sounded promising, but were also tough and dry. Didn't fall off the bone (didn't even come close)! The staff was fine in itself, our regular waitress was a bit less so, seemed mostly grumpy. Other staff seemed more enthusiastic! The main course was so shocking that we left half of it and didn't even look at the desserts.

We come here regularly. We’ve been at least 10 times by now. The service is friendly, the quality is consistent, and the food is really top-notch! I certainly wouldn't skip the desserts. My favorite is the sticky toffee!

I went with a friend today to eat a beef steak. The meat was super tough and poorly cooked, the garnish was non-existent, the staff forgot to bring me my beer and they had a hard time getting to our table, it wasn't worth it at all!

We had a delicious meal (tender meat, good burgers, tasty fries, and large salads) and the service was excellent. We were there around 5:00 PM and, upon request, were seated in a lovely breezy spot, making the heat perfectly bearable. We will definitely be back!

Today I had a lovely date at Hudson Bar & Kitchen Nieuwegein. My date surprised me with lunch at this beautiful location, right in the heart of Nieuwegein. As soon as you arrive, you immediately feel the relaxed and summery atmosphere. The spacious terrace invites you to enjoy the sun, while the stylish interior transports you to a warm, urban ambiance with a touch of New York. The long Chesterfield sofas, atmospheric red lamps, circular lighting, and cozy seating areas complete the picture. The dishes are prepared with passion from the open kitchen, something Hudson itself is proud of. (Restaurant Hudson) We both chose the famous Hudson Burger. Along with it, we enjoyed a delicious cocktail and a refreshing Ginger Mocktail. Everything was prepared with care, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. It wasn't just delicious food, but truly a moment to enjoy together. What made this afternoon extra special was the amazing service. The team was friendly, attentive, and came to ask several times if everything was to our liking. You really feel welcome here. Also a big compliment to the chef, who prepared the dishes with love and craftsmanship. For us, Hudson Bar & Kitchen undoubtedly deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Five stars for the service, five stars for the chef, and five stars for the complete experience. Are you looking for an atmospheric spot for a romantic lunch, a cozy dinner, or simply a lovely summer afternoon? The food wasn't very tasty (veggie burger and avocado toast); it tasted a bit "dull," so it didn't have much flavor. We had cocktails, but it seemed like there was hardly any alcohol in them, and the waitstaff forgot about us twice, and I didn't think one of the staff members was very polite. We just had an average meal, but there are definitely better places on the square!

If I could give a 3.5, I would have done so, which translates to a 7! It was actually fine! I just wrote a review for Heeren aan de Lek as well; they got 4 stars, so I can't give Hudson a 4. It was slightly less impressive and about the same price. The homemade lemonade was really tasty, and you can't go wrong with the brownie with ice cream. The gyoza were okay, not extraordinary, and the piece of meat was a 6. The service was very friendly, offered suggestions, and noticed everything well too!

Hudson is located on the square of the Cityplaza shopping center in Nieuwegein. Parking is easy in the parking garage. We had a nice meal at Hudson, but the service was poor. We sat for a long time before we could ask someone for a menu. The staff were also unavailable during the meal. The staff were mostly young and lacked proper guidance. It is a shame, because you lose customers because of this.

Here is our experience of our dinner last night. We had already had a drink there a while ago, when they had just opened. Back then, that annoying door was a problem; if you don't close it properly, a lot of cold air comes in. Still not resolved, a real BADGE!!! Or don't sit on the stage. It was reasonably busy there yesterday around 7 PM. The staff couldn't find our table quickly; no spontaneous visits, we had to wave every time we wanted to order something! Eventually, after +/- 75 minutes, we received part of our main courses. With the added bonus: "the rest will be here shortly." Ahem, I had finished my meat dish when the fries finally arrived... excuse me, my dish is already finished! Yes, sorry, it's busy! "It's full upstairs too." Yeah, and? Then three waitstaff surrounded me. Sorry, but after sending back the fries dishes... don't get into a discussion with your customers when your kitchen staff makes mistakes... I looked right into the kitchen and saw absolutely no rush to deliver the fries. I advise the gentleman with the ponytail to take a customer friendliness course; this would suit you well instead of seeking confrontation with your clientele......and making up lame excuses. In the end, 1 portion of fries was deducted from the bill; wow, you really build customer loyalty this way......it's overflowing with not! After the above review and email, contact was made and it became clear that this is not the way Hudson wants to project its hospitality. The incident was clearly discussed internally; during our 2nd visit, it became clear that things can be done differently, and I can only report that our 1st visit was of an exceptional kind. The service was top-notch and the food excellent; we left with a good feeling. Thanks to this staff and Fleur for their problem-solving ability. We will be back.

The food was terrible—the steak was cold, and after complaining, we were given another cold steak. This was just "how they prepare steaks." The service was friendly, but the food was very poor.

A downtown restaurant. They mainly serve sandwiches and burgers. The food is good.

Nice place, but the food is quite pricey for what you get. We had to wait over an hour for our food, and we even had to ask for it. Tip: offer people a drink if they have to wait long. The staff smokes right outside, so you have to walk through the smoke on your way home; this is definitely not what you expect.

Too bad the carpaccio sandwich was just that. Minimal carpaccio, just a few lettuce leaves, almost no cheese, and I'm not even sure if it had pine nuts. Almost 15 euros for such a sandwich is really out of proportion. There were also no garnishes. How meager :(

It was a busy Friday night; we ordered small appetizers and some extra sides. One of our sides was onion rings, and we got calamari. They politely resolved this by removing the onion rings from the bill. But the food itself was cold. We had the feeling it had been sitting there for a while. I also wanted to order a frozen piña colada, which apparently wasn't available anymore. We love going to Hudson's, but this time we were really disappointed... we understand that when it's busy you have to wait a bit, but every dish that was supposed to be hot was cold. We didn't send it back because we didn't want to wait that long again. Fortunately, the taste was good.

Upon arrival, everything was strangely reserved. We were placed in a spot that was perfectly comfortable for 1.5 people. We couldn't even look at each other. There was no other room. So we left. We won't be coming here again.

We had lunch at Hudson in Nieuwegein this afternoon. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to a table. After ordering drinks, we received a huge lunch menu. We chose the burgers. We had corn ribs as a side dish, so we also ordered the Hudson Fries. The burger was very tasty, but the Hudson Fries were "dipper fries," which we didn't enjoy as much. For the price, they deserve good, fresh fries. A lovely restaurant with friendly staff. Definitely worth it.

If you're not really into burgers and steak, the selection is limited. What we got was well-seasoned, beautifully presented, and more than enough. The prices were also excellent. The wine list could be a bit more extensive, and I'm definitely not a fan of InBev beers. The service was excellent from the start. Fast, efficient, and friendly. Once inside, the sleek building (judging from the outside) is surprisingly cozy, the chairs comfortable, and the sound pleasant. The drinks menu and the cutlery tray do take up a lot of space on your table; they could be more compact, but that's because I like to have something to complain about. Conclusion: Recommended if you're looking for a good meal in Nieuwegein.

I think this is a truly wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious, the cocktails and wines are delicious, the service is fantastic, and the ambiance is beautiful. Despite the restaurant being packed, I hardly experienced any noise.

Fantastic! After a previous reservation with another company was canceled (4 hours in advance), we were still able to go to Hudson that same evening! And this with 11 people! Thank you so much and so much for being so flexible and accommodating. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed being together with the family.

Everything looks cozy. Nice seating. The service was less than stellar, even disinterested. The only person keeping an eye on things wasn't supposed to be serving or taking orders.

What a bummer. From one of my most favourite spots to one of the worst (food wise). Where sandwiches were great, now you have to search for the toppings. Why why why. But now I understand that the number of people is down compared to other times. Even bagels & beans is now a consideration again. Then the “main” waiter, he is a different one, but somehow he is more “agitated” or he does not like the work. He is acting to clients like they are fools. Not saying that directly. But he did treated an old woman like she was a little baby. Please change back to where you were 3 months ago. It now is a disaster. Update: After Reading the response I am worried. Because I wrote something totally different. I wrote “Bagels & Beans is considerable”, what means that even that fast food, located 50meters away is considerable better. Not that I had Bagels & Beans. But same as most others the restaurant was really, really good. But somehow it managed to put itself down. I had a salmon sandwich, normally when you open the two sides, you could put salmon on both sides, now it is just enough to put it on one. Like the portion is half of what it was. You might expect that of a € 7,50 office cantina sandwich, but not for a € 15,00 one.

You arrive at this restaurant at 10 minutes to noon for a pleasant lunch. The door is open, so we go in. Yes, we don't open until noon, they say. Not exactly a welcoming reception. We will never have lunch here again!

A solid 5 stars! If I could give six, I would! I had the Cuban grilled cheese sandwich, and it was absolutely perfect. I was a bit worried the mustard would be too overpowering, but it worked perfectly with the tangy pickle. All the flavors were perfect! My girlfriend had the beef wraps, and the surprising cranberry compote was a fantastic addition. She had sweet potato fries with it, since the wraps alone aren't enough—luckily, they're also on the menu as a side. The fries were also fantastic, not overcooked like at other restaurants. The atmosphere was very nice, and the seating was very comfortable. I'll definitely be back! And the slice of butter cake with the cappuccino was also excellent.

After enjoying several delicious lunches with you, we decided to have dinner with seven people. Unfortunately, that evening we had a less than stellar experience. We ordered a cappuccino as a starter, but it was very disappointing. It seemed like the last bit of meat they had left, with the last few tiny ingredients, which I didn't receive properly presented on my plate. I paid 14 euros for it. I pointed this out to the chef, who explained that this wasn't the intention, but nothing was done about it. In the end, we received a delicious main course, which was fine with me, but unfortunately not with my dinner companions. The spare ribs weren't quite warm and cooked through. I pointed this out, and the chef acknowledged it, but again, nothing was done about it. In short, after several good experiences, this was a less than stellar evening. The price and quality of the food are disproportionate. A carpaccio costing almost €15.00 turned out to be a plate of meat with a few arugula leaves. I had chicken satay, with (small) pieces of meat completely burnt, and the spare ribs were tough and stuck to the bone. We reported it to the staff, but unfortunately, no compensation was offered. The chef did apologize. Definitely not worth repeating.

Nice atmosphere in terms of decor and music, though the restaurant is a bit chilly. Friendly staff, who do occasionally make mistakes, but these are resolved. Prices are generally a bit high, especially because the main courses don't include side dishes.

New to Nieuwegein, where there aren't many good restaurants. So, definitely a great addition, with a very pleasant interior and friendly staff. Excellent value for money, so we'll be back!

The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and the food and service are good, but every few minutes a fire alarm went off, which wasn't the restaurant's fault, but the Cityplaza owner's. It was incredibly unprofessional! They really need to change this, test it store by store, and then stop the noise! ​​We couldn't hear each other, so we left soon after lunch. It was also a nightmare for the staff to work in this noise.

The food was delicious, with generous portions for the price. We had the club sandwich, carpaccio sandwich, and shrimp salad. We had made a reservation, which was a good thing, as the place was packed. A woman assigned us a table, and another member of staff was a bit vague about whether we could sit there, but eventually we were. Our first drinks and lunch quickly followed. After lunch, they didn't ask for a second round of drinks; we ended up asking for one ourselves. Once we'd ordered, the man returned and asked if we wanted to move. He said he had other people there with reservations, and we explained that we also had reservations and found this a bit odd. This was the same man who initially made a fuss about the table. The people who wanted to sit there were people he knew. We quickly finished our second drinks and left.

Price-wise, it's good. I wouldn't include the salad and fries as a side dish, but rather as part of the main course, at a reasonable price. Furthermore, the price of a glass of wine (€5.10) is a bit steep for two sips. Be a bit more generous with this and say goodbye to those oversized glasses.

We made an online reservation, specifying we wanted a quiet spot. They called us back to tell us they'd put us in a quieter spot. The service was excellent, there was plenty of room for jokes, and the food was excellent. All in all, the three of us had a wonderful evening.

I love coming here for lunch and would highly recommend it to anyone. It brings the American vibe, which I love, and makes it tasteful. My favorite part is that you can choose from a variety of options, including both spicy and non-spicy ones. The waiters and waitresses are so kind and offer great service.
