Robuust-Nieuwegein in Stadscentrum

What a bummer. From one of my most favourite spots to one of the worst (food wise). Where sandwiches were great, now you have to search for the toppings. Why why why. But now I understand that the number of people is down compared to other times. Even bagels & beans is now a consideration again. Then the “main” waiter, he is a different one, but somehow he is more “agitated” or he does not like the work. He is acting to clients like they are fools. Not saying that directly. But he did treated an old woman like she was a little baby. Please change back to where you were 3 months ago. It now is a disaster. Update: After Reading the response I am worried. Because I wrote something totally different. I wrote “Bagels & Beans is considerable”, what means that even that fast food, located 50meters away is considerable better. Not that I had Bagels & Beans. But same as most others the restaurant was really, really good. But somehow it managed to put itself down. I had a salmon sandwich, normally when you open the two sides, you could put salmon on both sides, now it is just enough to put it on one. Like the portion is half of what it was. You might expect that of a € 7,50 office cantina sandwich, but not for a € 15,00 one.

The three of us ate there. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant looks cozy with several seating areas. And the staff is friendly.

You arrive at this restaurant at 10 minutes to noon for a pleasant lunch. The door is open, so we go in. Yes, we don't open until noon, they say. Not exactly a welcoming reception. We will never have lunch here again!

A solid 5 stars! If I could give six, I would! I had the Cuban grilled cheese sandwich, and it was absolutely perfect. I was a bit worried the mustard would be too overpowering, but it worked perfectly with the tangy pickle. All the flavors were perfect! My girlfriend had the beef wraps, and the surprising cranberry compote was a fantastic addition. She had sweet potato fries with it, since the wraps alone aren't enough—luckily, they're also on the menu as a side. The fries were also fantastic, not overcooked like at other restaurants. The atmosphere was very nice, and the seating was very comfortable. I'll definitely be back! And the slice of butter cake with the cappuccino was also excellent.

After enjoying several delicious lunches with you, we decided to have dinner with seven people. Unfortunately, that evening we had a less than stellar experience. We ordered a cappuccino as a starter, but it was very disappointing. It seemed like the last bit of meat they had left, with the last few tiny ingredients, which I didn't receive properly presented on my plate. I paid 14 euros for it. I pointed this out to the chef, who explained that this wasn't the intention, but nothing was done about it. In the end, we received a delicious main course, which was fine with me, but unfortunately not with my dinner companions. The spare ribs weren't quite warm and cooked through. I pointed this out, and the chef acknowledged it, but again, nothing was done about it. In short, after several good experiences, this was a less than stellar evening. The total price was 333 euros without a single bit of goodwill. Honestly, I expected something different. Hopefully, it'll be better next time. Kind regards, S.Stenfert

Nice atmosphere in terms of decor and music, though the restaurant is a bit chilly. Friendly staff, who do occasionally make mistakes, but these are resolved. Prices are generally a bit high, especially because the main courses don't include side dishes.

The price and quality of the food are disproportionate. A carpaccio costing almost €15.00 turned out to be a plate of meat with a few arugula leaves. I had chicken satay, with (small) pieces of meat completely burnt, and the spare ribs were tough and stuck to the bone. We reported it to the staff, but unfortunately, no compensation was offered. The chef did apologize. Definitely not worth repeating.

New to Nieuwegein, where there aren't many good restaurants. So, definitely a great addition, with a very pleasant interior and friendly staff. Excellent value for money, so we'll be back!

It was our first time dining here, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We received a friendly welcome, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and the food and service are good, but every few minutes a fire alarm went off, which wasn't the restaurant's fault, but the Cityplaza owner's. It was incredibly unprofessional! They really need to change this, test it store by store, and then stop the noise! ​​We couldn't hear each other, so we left soon after lunch. It was also a nightmare for the staff to work in this noise.

The food was absolutely delicious!! And everything I saw being served to other tables looked fantastic! Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. A real asset to City Plaza!!

The food was delicious, with generous portions for the price. We had the club sandwich, carpaccio sandwich, and shrimp salad. We had made a reservation, which was a good thing, as the place was packed. A woman assigned us a table, and another member of staff was a bit vague about whether we could sit there, but eventually we were. Our first drinks and lunch quickly followed. After lunch, they didn't ask for a second round of drinks; we ended up asking for one ourselves. Once we'd ordered, the man returned and asked if we wanted to move. He said he had other people there with reservations, and we explained that we also had reservations and found this a bit odd. This was the same man who initially made a fuss about the table. The people who wanted to sit there were people he knew. We quickly finished our second drinks and left.

The food was great - the music could have been a bit less loud - the service was excellent 👍 Tokyo Chicken was truly fantastic.

Great atmosphere, nice, appropriate decor, and fast service. I ordered a Korean Crispy Chicken Burger. It tasted good, but it was more like a chicken schnitzel than a crispy Korean burger.

The food was delicious, but it's a shame the hamburger doesn't come with fries as standard. For that price... Don't you get meat, vegetables, and potatoes at home?

Price-wise, it's good. I wouldn't include the salad and fries as a side dish, but rather as part of the main course, at a reasonable price. Furthermore, the price of a glass of wine (€5.10) is a bit steep for two sips. Be a bit more generous with this and say goodbye to those oversized glasses.

We made an online reservation, specifying we wanted a quiet spot. They called us back to tell us they'd put us in a quieter spot. The service was excellent, there was plenty of room for jokes, and the food was excellent. All in all, the three of us had a wonderful evening.

The Cuban tosti was so good that it just melted in my mouth. It was honestly one of the best sandwiches that I had. Also, honorable mention to the Hudson Burger, which is also delicious. I love coming here for lunch and would highly recommend it to anyone. It brings the American vibe, which I love, and makes it tasteful. My favorite part is that you can choose from a variety of options, including both spicy and non-spicy ones. The waiters and waitresses are so kind and offer great service. Definitely will be coming here again.

Had a delicious meal before a performance by Mozes Rosenberg

When you hear they're charcoal grilling, you naturally order satay. Only, it was just cooked through and showed no signs of being charcoal-grilled. Fortunately, the peanut sauce was good. You also expect something standard, like fries or at least fried onions or something. Nothing. Anything extra you want you have to order separately for unpalatable prices. The hamburger is just ordinary; I can't call it anything else. But you do pay a hefty price for it. We ended up eating for 80 euros between the three of us, and we all left feeling like we'd missed out. It might be a personal thing, but they should work on their sound system. Is it recommended? Unfortunately, no. They need to start asking how people like their meat and charge more realistic prices.

Mediocre food and overfriendly service

The Tokyo Chicken at Hudson in Nieuwegein is absolutely delicious! It's a must-try. The crispy chicken combined with the spicy Japanese sesame sauce is the perfect mix of flavors. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves great food!

What a lovely place. Friendly staff, delicious food. Lunch. One of us was satisfied with half. The staff immediately offered to wrap it up neatly and take it with us. Suddenly, that was perfectly arranged. Excellent.

What a nightmare, coming in and still not receiving a menu 40 minutes later. Only for the EXTREMELY patient. I say just skip it.

The restaurant looks nice. The burrata salad is nothing special, not in proportion to the price, and the abundance of honey and bread wasn't provided. It was brought quickly when I asked for it. For dessert, coffee and a bakery were offered, but the bakery didn't arrive. All in all, not worth a second visit for me.

The cappacio appetizer was excellent, but they forgot to order the main course, so the wait was long. My table companion had salmon, which was good, and I had sirloin steak. Ordered 250g medium, which was more rare. I ordered the second wine and had to ask twice where it was. All in all, I expected more from Hudson.

We went to the terrace today. It was still empty, so I walked in first to ask if we could order. "Sure, no problem, I'll be right there." After 11 minutes, and another employee who saw us standing in the doorway, I walked in after 15 minutes to ask if we could order something (I was about to leave anyway). One table outside, one inside, and three staff members, and we had to ask for service... Then we received an apology. Everything was resolved, we thought. Meanwhile, table two came outside. They ordered drinks, which were delivered, and their food order was immediately taken, even though we had already been waiting a few minutes to place an order. So when he left, I asked again if we could order. "I'll be right there," he said, and again, a few minutes passed before we could place our order. The menu said gluten-free. Turns out there was no gluten-free bread (they're next to a supermarket, so they might have messed up their purchasing). 2 stars because the food was okay but not exceptional. In terms of service, we won't be going back here a second time anytime soon.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night (two weeks ago). We were given a small, semi-circular table for three people, with our backs to the bar. It took ages for our drinks to be taken and for the menu to be presented. All the other tables on that side of the restaurant were affected by this. Then there's the food: it's basic. You have to order your own side dishes. But the prices are the same as in other restaurants where side dishes are included. We mentioned this to a waitress, who said the portions were larger and that people wouldn't be hungry for a side dish (fries). Well, the hamburger and salmon we had weren't large, no bigger than elsewhere. Hopefully, this was a first-time issue, and we might return someday.

The waiter was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing. Besides the portions being disproportionately large for the price, the flavor of both the corn ribs and spare ribs was mediocre. The sticky cauliflower was tasty, but I find 5 pieces of cauliflower for €9.95 too expensive.

The spare ribs were really bad. How dare you serve these spare ribs for €27... I'd be utterly ashamed. It was nice that they removed the spare ribs from the bill afterward. Also, don't drink more zero than Coke or Sprite...? Carpaccio had more arugula than meat, come on, man.

We sat on the terrace for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It took at least 20 minutes before anyone came to ask if we wanted a drink. Other people who arrived later were helped first. Our drinks arrived 10 minutes later, and our food even later. So, you shouldn't be in a hurry if you want to eat there. The food itself was good and tasty. The staff was friendly, but they kept saying they were on their way, and then it took a very long time.

We were still eating when they came to ask if they could clear the table. And that happened four times in a row, by different staff members! Let people finish eating in peace and divide the tables. Pay attention to whether anyone has already been there. That's a real drawback. They came by far too often.

We tried out Hudson's new location in Nieuwegein together and had a wonderful evening. This was partly due to the friendly and attentive service. The menu is very accessible, with something delicious for everyone. We chose the smoked beef wrap, which was very tasty, thanks in part to the delicious grilled stripe. For our main course, we chose the Double B burgers (bacon and blue cheese), which were truly delicious. The juicy burger and the rich blue cheese are a golden combination. The Meatlovers Stack was also very tasty but didn't quite beat the Double B... as a side, we chose the Sweet Loaded Potatoes. A good amount per person. Price? A sandwich starter, wrap (1x), 2 burgers and a side dish, 2 desserts (very delicious!), 4 cocktails, and 1 espresso: €118. Conclusion: excellent value for money, and we want to emphasize that the dishes are truly delicious.

Great new place to eat, and the cocktails are definitely good too. Everything is freshly prepared. Curious about the spareribs? Unfortunately, I couldn't try a piece, so I ended up with a half. Best to skip that! It also turns out to be the only item on the menu that's overpriced. They even apologized for it being on the menu (bland sparerib with a glaze, a gimmick, unfortunately).

Well, I had made a reservation for lunch, got a call in the morning saying there was a limited menu, and later learned the kitchen wouldn't open until 5 p.m. So, no opinion since they're still in the early stages. It's a shame, though, that communication via the website and phone is still spotty.

Poor service. After the waitress sat us down and let us wait for almost 20 minutes without anyone paying attention, I watched them work until I was sure the people who came after us had gotten their orders before us. It's terrible how you're treating us.

We were there yesterday around 1:00 PM (Saturday, July 26th) and sat down for lunch. We were curious about the food. It was pleasantly busy, but there were still plenty of seats on the patio. The waitress asked if we were there for lunch or drinks, so we said lunch. She said yes, we're no longer taking people for lunch, what??? Wow, that's really bad. Then she says, yes, it's busy, so the wait for food is longer, but that's not really a smart answer when you've just opened. We went across the street to Mango Leaf... they did have time for lunch, and it took a while, but it was delicious! You won't be going back there again anytime soon...

The appetizers were great. We believe the main courses both came from the deep fryer. We didn't think that fit with the restaurant's appearance. The service was excellent!

I was spoken to very rudely about a comment I made to my companion. He probably thought I'd be intimidated, which was a shame. I wasn't impressed with the wannabe chef. Luckily, I was welcome on another terrace.

Went for lunch today; they were open for lunch for the first time. I had the healthy avocado toast; the avocado wasn't ripe, so there were really hard chunks in it. I asked for salt and pepper, but after three tries (it's coming), I gave up. The other person had the "join the club" option, which was very tasty. The girl working outside was trying her best but couldn't handle the crowds. They put a ribbon at the entrance, and people couldn't use the restaurant anymore due to a staff shortage... I guess it was just "startup mistakes."

The service was great, the seats were comfortable, and the help was excellent. We'll definitely be back, but our first impressions were good!

I wanted to eat here for the first time. I waited half an hour for the menu, only to finally get it myself. When we tried to order, no one showed up. So I went inside to ask if we could order. The man said someone was coming. Fifteen minutes later, we left.

I ate here with two colleagues on the opening night. The staff was a bit lost on the first night, trying to find the menu and table numbers. Which is understandable, of course, so that wasn't a problem at all, as everyone was trying their best. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. I'll definitely eat here again. The only downside was the smoking on the terrace, which I always find a bit of a shame when I'm eating.

Saturday, summer vacation has just begun, and it's 12:00 noon. Lunch wasn't available until 1:00 PM.

Mediocre tent. There was no greeting upon entering. And the service wasn't friendly either. I'm not surprised that this ball joint is closing.

We waited more than an hour and fifteen minutes for our starter, but it turned out that they had forgotten us... in the end it took another half hour for our starter... drinks were also empty for a long time and my partner walked to the bar to get a drink, but there too things went wrong and we got different drinks than we had ordered. Food is also good. Nice price via social deal, but service is terrible and we will not come back.

Burger was fine, but not special. I think it was yesterday's sandwich and I personally thought it had too much cheddar on it (but maybe that's how it was supposed to be, it was a bacon and cheese burger). Staff was very busy, due to a shortage of staff. We also had to turn people away because they couldn't handle the crowds. But nevertheless very friendly, I came to the table 3 times to apologize for the long waiting time, so I didn't say anything about the burger, it can happen... The other dish (Have it all - Classic) was surprisingly tasty! 3 nice large slices of bread, with croquette, tuna salad and carpaccio...

You can wait a very long time before you weigh an ounce. They ignore you so you don't get anything for a long time. If you go for a drink with a friend on a Saturday evening, the staff will be very drunk, knocking things over, dancing, shouting, you name it. It's not normal to behave like that during working hours. I'll never come here again. Shameless
