La calidez del personal en Sarban Den Haag es especial - una sonrisa. Nos encanta este restaurante en parte debido a lo que IT representa, así como por la comida afgana auténtica condimentada y suavemente condimentada. Los camareros explican los platos - las albóndigas especiales, la ensalada de remolacha especiada y el pan naan colgando de un puesto que se basa en un mapa de contorno de metal de Afganistán. We kozen het kennismakingsmenu vega en vlees en kregen hier alle uitleg bij. Het eten was heerlijk! Aardige eigenaar en de bediening was top.

Bij Sarban eet je niet alleen heel lekker, maar je krijgt ook uitleg over de Afghaanse gerechten. Restaurant heeft een fijne sfeer en de bediening is prima!

Heerlijke introductie met de Afghaanse keuken. Ze bieden de optie een 3 gangen menu te kiezen waarbij je verschillende gerechten uit de kaart in kleinere porties krijgt, en dus veel verschillende dingen kan proeven. Heel gastvrije bediening en mooie, schone, sfeervol ingerichte zaak.

We lieten ons verrassen en kozen voor het kennismakingsmenu. Nou, dat was een bijzonder aangename verrassing en een heerlijke ontdekking. De zeer vriendelijke en attente bediening maakte het geheel tot een geweldige ervaring.

Ein wirklich fantastisches Erlebnis der besonderen Art, perfekt für alle, die aussergewöhnliche Aromen und perfekt abgestimmte Gewürze lieben! Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam, die Atmosphäre gemütlich und stilvoll. Ich komme definitiv wieder.

Voor de 2e keer bij Sarban. 1e keer was in vestiging Utrecht. Deze keer was bij de vestiging in Den Haag. Wederom erg lekker gegeten. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Ze leggen de menukaart uit en lichten bij iedere gang het eten toe. Uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Afgelopen zaterdag met z'n tweeën gegeten bij Sarban. Het eten en de wijnen waren heerlijk, de bediening was prima, leuke gesprekjes gehad met het personeel, interieur heel sfeervol, dus eigenlijk niets te klagen. Echter, een dag later keek ik nog even naar de rekening en zag ik dat er voor vier glaasjes kraanwater € 7,80 in rekening was gebracht, € 1,95 per glas! Bij een bezoek vorig jaar (ook toen voortreffelijk gegeten!), werd kraanwater níet in rekening gebracht. Maar goed, tijden veranderen. Echter, uitgaande van de kosten van een liter leidingwater van globaal slechts 0,003 á 0,004 euro per liter lijkt mij € 1,95 'enigszins' disproportioneel voor een glas water dat qua kostprijs nog geen eurocent kost. Een bezoek aan het toilet kost ook en veel méér water, globaal zo tussen de 4 á 6 liter per spoeling (een veelvoud van vier glaasjes leidingwater) dus ook daar zou men dan kosten voor in rekening kunnen brengen, alsook, doorredenerend, bv. kosten van de slijtage van de schoenzolen van het bedienend personeel, enz., enz. Maar alle gekkigheid op een stokje, ik weet dat er restaurants zijn die geen kraanwater willen serveren, of kraanwater in rekening brengen, en andere waar je 'automatisch' een gratis karaf water op je tafel krijgt. Ik weet ook dat de horeca onder druk staat (wat ook geldt ook voor de portemonnee van de consument) en dat eindeloze discussies en argumentaties mogelijk zijn over wel of niet gratis kraanwater, over het in de horecaprijzen verdisconteren van de diverse exploitatielasten enz. En ik wil best betalen voor een glaasje kraanwater, maar zet het dan wel op de menu-/drankenkaart. Maar nogmaals, € 1,95 lijkt mij 'een beetje' veel. Dit alles gezegd hebbende: Sarban is in alle opzichten een uitstekend restaurant en ik ben zeker van plan er terug te komen! Jan Teunissen

Heerlijk eten en fantastische service! Het personeel komt bij elke gang uitleggen wat het allemaal is. Iedereen is heel vriendelijk en heeft duidelijk hart voor de zaak.

Already had great expectations because of the warm recommendation we got. But must say our evening still exceded the expectations. The menu is diverse a healthy. On top you feel very welcome (many restaurants can learn from this). Definitely will go there again. Thanks Sarban!

Wat een fijn restaurant! De inrichting is prachtig, de bediening en het personeel super vriendelijk en behulpzaam en niet te vergeten; heerlijk dineren! De kinderen mochten helpen met het bereiden van het dessert en ze kregen een kleurboek en potloden voor tussen de gangen door. Er werd werkelijk overal aangedacht. Echt een aanrader.

Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung dieses tollen Restaurants ist ebenso außergewöhnlich gut wie die Speisen und Getränke! Vertraut dem Rat der Kellner und nehmt das Überraschungsmenü - man kann auch vegetarisch wählen! Sogar glutenfrei war kein Problem! Hier gibt es nicht das übliche einfache Kebab, sondern köstliche afghanische Küche mit viel Rafinesse und Liebe zubereitet! Unübertroffen war das stundenlang geschmorte Fleisch! Hierhin kommen wir sehr gerne zurück!!!

Even gluten-free wasn't a problem! Here you don't get the usual simple kebab, but rather delicious Afghan cuisine prepared with a lot of sophistication and love! This is the first time I have been to Afgani restaurant in Netherlands. I must say it’s a great place to have lunch or dinner. The vibe is perfect, the staff is great and the food is flavourful not spicy. The food is ordered as starter, maincourse and dessert worth €37-38 euro and more than enough for one person. I was too full after eating it. We ordered- Starters- Mantao, qorme morg , Bornai katjaloe and kofte tokhm. Main dish- saland gerecht, panjshir gerecht,helmand gerecht and farah gerecht Dessert- Shirjakhe pesta, shorjake zanjafil, one mixed icecream. Everything was perfect! A must try restaurant.

We hebben ontzettend genoten! Ik was al eens in Utrecht geweest en wilde al heel lang mijn vriend eens meenemen. Nu zag ik dat er meerdere filalen zijn waaronder in Den Haag. Hele lieve mensen, heerlijk en verrassend gegeten. Ik las ergens iemand zeuren over kleine porties, nou mijn vriend en ik zijn grote eters en wij hadden meer dan genoeg. Ze komen nl aan tafel nog vragen of je ergens nog iets meer van wil. Ook de sfeer in het restaurant is warm en gezellig. Mooie muziek op de achtergrond. Wij komen in ieder geval vaker terug. Ga zo door!! ❤️

Voor de derde keer kennisgemaakt met de Afghaanse keuken bij Sarban. Eerste 2 keer in Tilburg, nu in Den Haag. Ook hier super lekker gegeten en uitermate vriendelijke bediening. Mooie ambiance en fijne sfeer.

Good atmosphere, nicely decorated, tasty food and good service. I notice that the poorer reviews are usually from Afghans themselves, who expect you to get as much food in a restaurant as you cook at home. Silly expectation as far as I'm concerned. Your dishes are a good introduction to Afghan cuisine.

Nice ambiance and atmosphere with friendly service, food portions are way too less for two people and the price you pay. if you are an afghan reading this, ask them from the beginning for bigger portions. The food tasted ok all in all, some dishes were good some not that much.

After trying many Afghan restaurants it was now Sarban's turn. My Afghan heart beat a little harder with the beautiful decor. That says everything else. This restaurant lacks gastronomy and an authentic Afghan cuisine experience. Far too small portions on far too large plates (optical play?), for dishes that do not taste Afghan. The shirj jagh is not shirj jagh, but more of an ice cream with cardamom. Then just don't reserve it. The rice was dry and did not look fresh. The mantoe dough is much too thick and tough, this is because they use a dough folder. The spices used tasted more Indian than Afghan. There are also a lot of things going wrong when it comes to the service. The rule is to completely serve a table before moving on to other things. In our case, we got our rice while the garnishes followed after 6-7 minutes. This happened again to our neighbors. Either add more people or serve the rice later. Perhaps very critical, but that is also allowed for these prices.

It was a nice introduction to Afghan cuisine that I didn't know much about. The surprise menu is a good way of exploring most items on the menu, it includes a chicken dish which just melts in your mouth. The staff are very friendly and describe the dishes on the table quite well. Highly recommed!

Fabulous meal. We tried the tasting menu and it was great that they can serve vegan and vegetarian options. Out first time trying Afghan food. We were able to share most of the dishes, even though one of us is vegetarian. The chef brought our dishes to the table and explained what everything was, answering any questions we had. Hospitality and atmosphere were fantastic. Fairly quiet even though most of the tables were in use.

It might be advisable to try the AFG kitchen for the first time, but don't go here to taste the culinary cuisine because then you will be far, far wrong! This while the site explicitly mentions: culinary Afghan cuisine - this is probably a joke! The staff is also not open to suggestions - they like to argue with you instead of improving. The small portions are also far from the hospitable kitchen with a piece of microwave-heated bread on an iron hook (which is also not AFG bread) is not for eating. And especially the toppings on the rice are not good to eat, let alone the cheap wine. All in all, very disappointing to have been here with colleagues.

Nice place and the food was great! They offer both menus and a la carte, we went for the menu. This consisted of tapas starters with naan bread, with a kind of rice table idea as the main course. The chef came to explain this personally at the table. I thought everything was perfectly seasoned and for +/- 35 a very good choice. Definitely worth a try.

A place you must visit! The food is super good, we took the surprise menu to try the 60% of the food served (first time for us in an Afghan restaurant) and everything was so delicious! Also, the explanation for every dish from the waiter has been very appreciated! The restaurant is very big and every spot is special and decorate with the classic Afghan atmosphere.

We had a very nice dinner with starters mains and dessert. The food was good, with interesting flavors, and the staff could not have been more helpful and kind. No pictures unfortunately - the meal was so good that by the time I thought to take some we had already eaten quite a bit of it! But others have left many pictures here already and they are a good representation of what is available. We also appreciate their admirable efforts to 'give back' and help the community through their Stichting Sarban de Toekomst - details of this are on their website. Definitely recommended.
