The very friendly staff, with their helpful explanations and delicious food, take you on a journey through Afghanistan. They are also very engaged with their fellow human beings and organize fun activities that benefit the less fortunate.

Fantastic dinner! They provide a 3 course dinner which are starters, main, and desert. You can either select your own preferences or a surprise combination. We selected the surprise menu, and all of them were exquisite. Besides the delicious food, friendly attitude of the staff made the dinner even cozier. We had a very nice dinner with family, the service was fast, food was delicious, would love to come back when we are in Tilburg next time. Definitely recommend!

Random and surprising discovery on business trip. I have tried exquisite Persian style cousine from my girlfriend..but Sarban really surprised me in a positive way, in its refined and cosy sense of authenticity. Main recommendation is a 3 course menu at 39€ (true value). First an appetizer chosen from a broad variety (loved the pumpkin one), then a main dish that comes typically with rice (Persian style) with different meats or vegetables and at least 3 exquisite side dishes (from spinach based to sauces to meatballs to dates etc..) all incredibile exquisite and balanced. Last but not list handmade ice cream with eastern taste or even sorbet (I tried Afghan ice cream and rhubarb sorbet..simply delicious). The atmosfere Is elegant, with oriental vibes, but at the same time intimate and unassuming. Reminds of a proud elegant and essential culture at the same time! Replay must go to place. Also I found the review to be 100% truthful and we'll pondered..compared to many places in Amsterdam polluted by tourists with a more generalist taste. Will be back!

We all had the introduction meal where you get to taste 60-70% of their dishes including starters, main course and desserts. All the dishes were flavourful and we enjoyed it.

Really fantastic. Nice shop and nice service who tells you what you get with every round. We opted for the introductory menu and got something of everything. They were also told not to hesitate to ask for more of a particular dish or side dish. But we were already satisfied with what we were presented with. And how wonderful it was! Enjoyed flavors that work so well together that you taste everything and enjoy every bite. We will definitely come back!

(Conclusion in the bottom) We reserved a table on a Saturday and were looking forward to trying some Afghan food, as we have not tried it before. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were told that they only 3 course menu(starter, main, desert), and that we can either pick them out or go for a 'surprise' menu. Because we wanted to try as much as possible, we took the surprise, as the staff explained that this way we could taste 70% of the menu flavors (we heard them say 60% to the table next to us, so I don't know if that is even true). Starters were good, it really surprised us with the number of unique flavors and set a high bar for the rest of the meal. Our moods were good, and we were excited to see how amazing the mains will be. Unfortunately, the mains were disappointing. We got served two plates of rice, one with only chickpeas mixed in, the other was more allaborate with nuts, carrots, razins, and stewed meat. 4 side dishes, and one of them was a big disappointment as it was clearly frozen veggies, that you can buy in a grocery store from the freezer isle, mixed with some liquidy tomatoe sauce I guess. We also got two chicken thighs, that looked nice, but were lacking in flavor just like all of the mains. Then came deserts, that were enjoyable to me, as it was 2 ice cream scoops with quite natural-earthy flavors and a fake tasting vanila custard. I enjoy deserts that are not too sweet, so it was good for me, but for my partner, who has a sweet tooth, it was less enjoyable. CONCLUSION - It was disappointing. Overall, there was a lack of flavor and depth in everything except starters. Maybe, if you are used to bland food and looking to try new flavors, this would be a good start for you. However, if you are a foody and have tried at least some decent indian food, this will be disappointing for you too. Huge disappointment is also the PRICE. It is 40€ per person for a starter, main, and desert, so drinks are not included. So, we paid 90€+ for the meal and 2 drinks - it is overprice for what we got. There is not enough flavor to justify that price, and to also see frozen vegetables being served for that price is ridiculous. Also, the starters are served with bread, and we were 2 people paying 40€p.p. - why did we get one piece of bread? If I came alone, would i get half a piece of bread? It just seems like corners are being cut for profit. Also, the deserts are the cheapest deserts on earth- ice cream and custard? The dishes were even warm so the ice cream was melty wen it got to the table and the custard was warm-ish. We will not be coming back, even though we would like to try some more starters, but you can only do the 3 course menu, which is a bit of a scam in this restaurant...

Hele fijne avond gehad. Op Valentijn ontvangen met een rode roos die aan mijn man werd gegeven als verrassing voor mij. Daarna in een gezellige setting genoten van een kennismakingsmenu. Heerlijk, smaakvol en eerlijk gegeten. Zeer fijne bediening.

We had a nice meal at this place. We opted for the surprise menu. So that we could taste a little bit of 60% of the menu. It was all very popular! The only downside was that the food was quite little, so we were still a bit hungry later. So if we were to come here again it would just be a starter, main and dessert. The staff was super nice and helpful. A pleasant atmosphere made for a successful evening.

Een zéér lekkere ontdekking! Heerlijk gegeten en zéér vriendelijke bediening. We hadden een weekendje Tilburg gepland met dagje Efteling en online zocht ik een restaurant. Zo kwam ik op Sarban. Amaai, een echte aanrader! Hier komen we graag terug als we weer in de buurt zijn. Onze kinderen van 9 en 11j hebben ook genoten van de ontdekking van deze ongekende en heerlijke keuken.

Vanaf het reserveren tot aan het vertrek, was bijzonder aangenaam. Ondanks de drukte (1e kerstdag) liep de avond heel gestructureerd en relaxed. Het begon meteen al met een warme gastvrije ontvangst. We kregen een goede uitleg over het menu en hebben een heerlijk kennismakingsmenu gegeten die een smaakexplosie teweeg bracht. Heel klantvriendelijk en lekker! Een aanrader!!!

Bij Sarban Tilburg kun je echt heerlijk eten. Wij hebben op 1ste kerstdag hier gegeten. Het was echt voortreffelijk. Wij hadden gekozen voor het verrassings menu.

We went last night with 5 people and the welcome was quite good, but the food was not at all commensurate with the price. I paid 210 euros for 3 plates of rice, a small salad and a meat that needs to be prepared to see It's a bad experience and the food is bad. I don't recommend anyone to try it.

I came here about a month ago.The food Is amazing and authentic! All the waiters were so nice and friendly. My server was an international student, she was very smiley and professional. The staff is super accommodating and international friendly.

For the first time I ate Afghan food out. Even though I know the kitchen a little, I thoroughly enjoyed new, unfamiliar dishes. The employees explained each dish exactly what it was and were very friendly. There was also a very relaxed atmosphere which made our outing complete. Highly recommended!

One of, if not my, favorite restaurant in Tilburg. The food is really fantastic and the staff is extremely nice. I like to eat here for special occasions. Had dinner here once during Valentine's Day, and I received a rose to give to my girlfriend from the Restaurant. The staff always pays a lot of attention to their guests and explains exactly what you are eating. It is relatively expensive but it is worth it. Always a fantastic experience and plenty of food. I recommend getting an introductory menu if you eat here. Then you can enjoy different dishes.
