Authentic Italian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious!! Our compliments go to the waitresses! All the tables were full. The two ladies were extremely busy, yet they managed it all with smiles and without any stress. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The food is truly fantastic! We sat outside, which is lovely of course, but unfortunately the surroundings aren't that pretty. Inside, the atmosphere is very nice and cozy, but it's better not to sit near the bar, which we personally find very noisy. But in short, that is absolutely no reason not to eat at Babbo, because it is truly delicious and the service is top-notch 👏🏻

A warm evening, a pleasantly full terrace, and all tables inside occupied as well. Despite the crowds, there was a lovely and relaxed atmosphere. In the kitchen, people were visibly working hard to prepare all dishes with care. The service really took the time for you. It was nice that a different person came to the table each time; everyone was equally spontaneous and attentive. The surprising menu offers beautiful and original dishes, with great attention to taste and presentation. Everything we ate was delicious and made the evening complete. The combination of tasty food, hospitable staff, and the cozy atmosphere made for an evening to enjoy to the fullest. In short: highly recommended!

What a fantastic experience we had here on Hoevenseweg. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail, and the atmosphere was incredibly pleasant. The food was truly a work of art on the table. The extensive charcuterie board, in particular, with the fresh burrata, the melon slices, and the bowl of mushrooms in a rich sauce, was a huge hit. The fresh pasta with truffle was also delicious. We will certainly be back here soon to enjoy ourselves again. Thank you for this wonderful evening.

My last time: First of all, I must say that as a half-Italian, I am always very positive about Babbo. However, tonight I am severely disappointed. Both with one of the dishes, but especially with the attitude of the owner. We were served by an extremely friendly waitress. We indicated that we only had 1.5 hours due to the children being at home. Nevertheless, we wanted a pinsa as an aperitivo and the 4-course menu, which was recommended because it was brand new on the menu. Upon inquiry by the waitress with the kitchen, it turned out that it was possible to serve everything within the time frame. We are grateful for that. The Pinsa was delicious, the starter reasonable, and the intermediate course, the tartare with foie gras, delightful. However, the saltimboca was a unique variation. That is possible, but the slices of calamari served were too raw and especially too tough. Cutting was impossible; we had to stand there chewing. We reported this. The waitress felt guilty and went to report it to the boss. She was able to offer us a coffee. However, my partner does not like coffee and asked for a sparkling water. However, the waitress returned with the message that this was not allowed by her boss???? . Next, we were informed that the dessert, a canoli, that was supposed to be part of the menu was no longer available?? We were the third customer of the evening. We were there at 5:45 PM!!! As compensation, she could get a lemon cake. In this way, despite the efforts of the staff, the evening was completely ruined in terms of both friendliness and time management. On a 150 euro dinner, no compensation for a bottle of San Pellegrino, purchase price 1.20 euros... too bizarre. Meat can of course sometimes not meet expectations, but this meat should never have been served, and certainly not in this restaurant. Thanks to the total lack of empathy and lack of customer friendliness from the boss, you have lost a regular customer. Bravo. !!

Babbo Italian Eatery was an okay experience overall. I wouldn’t necessarily call it the most authentic Italian dining, but it does the job if you’re looking for a casual Italian meal. The food was fine and nothing particularly bad stood out, but also nothing really made me want to come back soon. It’s one of those places that’s just… alright. Not a disappointing experience, but also not one I feel a strong need to repeat.

We recently had a fantastic meal. We had a large shared dining platter as a starter. The pasta and pizza main courses were all delicious. We enjoyed the butter cake for dessert, and the red wine was excellent with all the dishes. The service was friendly; the owner even stopped by our table for a quick chat. Highly recommended!

It was a successful evening. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The food arrived relatively quickly and was very satisfying. The carpaccio, which they make in-house, is highly recommended. Besides the carpaccio, the Tagliata Di Manzo was also very well prepared. For dessert, I had the oven-baked Tarte Tatin—simple but delicious. All in all, it was a successful evening and definitely worth repeating.

We'd always loved coming to Babbo, and we recently heard they were also starting to serve a set menu, so of course, we had to try it. It was our best choice ever! The kitchen team created some lovely and creative dishes, and the waitresses were incredibly helpful in presenting different wines to complement the delicious dishes. We've already recommended it to everyone, but now that we've tried the set menu, we want to be there every week.

Good Italian food. The pizza with burrata is especially recommended. I ordered the stuffed lobster pasta, which was decent, but not very filling. My husband ordered the vegetarian lasagna: it was also delicious, but it smelled strongly of gorgonzola. I'm not a big fan of gorgonzola myself, but if you like it, you should order it. The service was also good! The atmosphere was also cozy, but we were seated in the hallway near the door, and every time it opened, it was incredibly cold... so at the beginning of our stay, we were shivering in the restaurant. Hence the 4 stars. Otherwise, the food was delicious!!

The food was fantastic, and if you love Italian food, I highly recommend it! The price-quality ratio is excellent in my opinion. They use fresh ingredients and have plenty of options on the menu. I would highly recommend the pinsa buratta, although it was a bit too much for me to combine with a starter. The carpaccio was also very good! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente.

What a discovery! This Italian restaurant is truly a step above your average pizzeria. The menu offers surprising dishes with pure flavors; you can taste that everything is prepared with care and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy, exactly what you'd hope for when dining out. A special compliment goes to Juul, who served us wonderfully. The restaurant was packed, both inside and outside, so we had to wait a little longer between courses, but with good company, it wasn't a problem ;-). We've already made reservations for next month.

Excellent Italian restaurant, we enjoyed the Pinsa Romania. We were delighted. The only downside was the wait. Our order hadn't been taken by the server, but he returned after 30 minutes to take our orders. Unfortunately, the meat ordered for the Pinsa was no longer available. The chef came directly to offer us an alternative. It's a shame they didn't offer us a drink for the inconvenience...

The worst thing I've ever eaten in my life

Terrible restaurant!!! The food was decent, but the fish tasted sour. The service was extremely poor! We had made reservations for three people. We arrived on time, and after our main course, we couldn't order dessert because the next guests were arriving. We knew we had to leave at 7:15 PM, but it was 6:55 PM when we tried to order dessert and were told that this wasn't possible and that we might only get coffee! We often dine out, but we've never experienced anything like this before! These people don't seem to care, and hospitality and healthy entrepreneurship are simply not in their mindset. We are extremely reasonable and advise you not to visit this restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant's response shows that, in addition to correctly reporting our complaints, they also feel compelled to try to minimize them by making false statements. - We didn't order dessert because we weren't allowed to order it, even though there were still 20 minutes left in the aforementioned time slot. - We weren't offered tiramisu because we weren't allowed to order. - None of us even offered a so-called apology, as we both left simultaneously, having never experienced such poor treatment. - The above indicates that this business owner is using blatant lies to cover up his reputation, which is yet another reason not to visit this restaurant.

The food at Babbo tasted decent, but was absolutely nothing special considering the high prices. We had made a reservation, but 20 minutes before our time slot ended, we were told that dessert was unfortunately no longer available. We were told that "coffee might still be available." No thanks! We'd never experienced anything like this before. Extremely poor service! Overpriced. Further comment after the restaurant's comments: It's a great shame that the restaurant still can't recognize their mistakes and responds with various untruths, which don't reflect our experience. This is very unfortunate, but not surprising—completely in line with the poor service we experienced in the restaurant. "You wanted to order a tarte tatin at 7:00 PM." This is incorrect. It was 6:55 PM (20 minutes before the end of the time slot), and we asked for the dessert menu, which we didn't receive. So I never indicated that I wanted to order a tarte tatin. I didn't even see the menu! "We kindly offered you other options, such as tiramisu, etc." This is also incorrect. We weren't even offered the dessert menu. This was never communicated. If this were true, it would indeed have been a good solution. Unfortunately, in our case, we didn't even receive the menu. "Interestingly, someone in your party briefly whispered an apology when we left, after you yourself had left the restaurant in a rage. That speaks volumes." This is incorrect. No one said this; the entire group left the restaurant together in indignation. "You also say you were served 'pickled fish,' which is certainly correct because the anchovies on the pinsa piccante are pickled anchovies, as stated on the menu!" The menu states the following (see website): "PICCANTE: Mozzarella, tomato sauce, spicy salami, 'Nduja (spicy meat), lemon zest, black olives, and anchovies." There's no mention of pickled anchovies here. Perhaps you should take another look at your own menu on the website? See the attached photo. "It's therefore disappointing that two unjustified reviews were subsequently posted via a newly created account." I've had this account for years. How did you get that it's a newly created account? Two people from the group posted a review. What's disappointing is that instead of admitting the mistake, the customer is being attacked and blamed.

The food at Babbo is so delicious! You can just tell they put a lot of care and attention into everything. The wines are also a perfect pairing, making it even more enjoyable to dine together. I work here as a waitress, but honestly, I also love coming here for food and drinks when I'm off work. It feels like a mini getaway every time. Highly recommended!

We've been to Italy several times and have had wonderful meals in a fantastic atmosphere. This restaurant gives you exactly that feeling and perhaps even more. Saturday evening, five of us had a wonderful evening at Babbo. We used to come regularly, but it had been a while since we'd been there (for no reason). We received a very warm welcome and were given a nice table. There were many new faces on the team, but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Respect to the kitchen staff, as it was very busy and we didn't feel like we had to wait too long for our food. Visited this place with two others, based on a friend’s recommendation. Sadly, it didn’t meet expectations. We were seated outside on the terrace, and although the atmosphere was cozy (even in the rain), the experience fell short in almost every other way. Service was extremely slow — we had to wait ages just to be noticed and served. Normally, I’d walk out at that point, but this time we decided to stick around (not that we had much choice). We sat down at 18.50 and didn’t get our main course until 20:45. Staff said they were short-staffed in the kitchen, but then... don’t seat so many people. Guests who arrived after us were served long before we were. The food? Overpriced and underwhelming. €18.50 for a plain carpaccio — just meat, cheese, oil, and rucola, with zero presentation. The lasagna was overcooked, and oddly, it looked like someone had dumped half a jar of plain tomato sugo on top. Very strange. I probably should’ve gone for the pinsa — it is in the name of the place, after all... Total bill: €140 for three people. The pinsa, wine, and salad were decent, but not enough to justify a return visit.

Wat een ambiance, heerlijk op het gemak gegeten. Aangezien ik bij een eerste bezoek aan een Italiaan altijd ga voor de Ossobuco ook hier de keuze gemaakt om deze te nemen. Een heerlijke op smaak gemaakte schenkel in een heerlijke tomatensaus, ook prettig dat je de spaghetti op een apart bord geserveerd krijgt. Het vlees was zoals ik het noem beetgaar, hij had wat mij betreft iets langer mogen op staan. De eigenaar Marcel van Look kwam aan tafel omdat ik de gaarheid net niet goed genoeg vond, wel vergeten te vragen of de schenkel sousvide was bereid of traditioneel. Maar ik ga zeker binnenkort terug want ik had een zeer geslaagde avond. En ik weet nu ook wat ik bij mijn nieuwe reservering moet schrijven als opmerking ;-) dankjewel Marcel en staf.

We had a reservation for 8:15 pm and were seated quickly, but after that... things took their time. No menus until 9:00 pm, drinks around 9:15 pm. Fortunately, the food (pasta and pizza) arrived fairly quickly. It was good, but nothing memorable. The most frustrating thing: after finishing our plates, we waited almost half an hour before anyone came to take care of them or offer us dessert. A special mention, however, goes to the server, who was very friendly and helpful, even if he forgot about us a bit at times. Let's just say it was an off night for the team... too bad, it was our fault. Maybe better another day.

We came into this restaurant expecting a traditional, good Italian cuisine based on the reviews we had seen. Yet, we were faced with poorly seasoned, bland dishes and long waits. While the atmosphere was quaint and expectations were high, just like the prices, the halibut had undercooked, outright raw potatoes with a basic roasted pea and kale combo that added little to no complexity to the dish other than increase our desire for any sort of seasoning. Whilst the halibut itself was cooked very well, the rest of the dish failed to capture our attention. It became notable that the expertise of the chef would be in question from the frittata we received at the beginning of the evening. Instead of the rich yet simple dish frittatas are, we received a soggy Philadelphia sandwich which completely missed the mark. Needless to say it was incredibly disappointing off the bat. The sword fish carpaccio was actually well put together considering it is merely a raw cut of fish, and the orange was a good complement, though the dish left much to be desired. It was desperately still thirsting for anything, anyone could come up with. The lobster tortellini seemed to be the popular option for the night, also recommended by staff. Upon arrival, aside from already being visually underwhelming, the dish was heavily masked by the thick tortellini dough with little to no flavor of the lobster coming through. Unfortunately the dish itself was so shallow that there isn’t much else to say about it. To end the night, after waiting 45 minutes per dish, for the starters and the main individually, we were finally met with a “short” 20 minute wait for the dessert. The tiramisu was satisfying and well made, making us atleast somewhat satisfied for the night. Leaving the restaurant, one walks away feeling somewhat satisfied with the money and time put towards the experience considering the quality of service, food, and complexity yet the recurring consensus we received at Babbo is that, whilst the chef would be able to cook me a weekday dinner, for the prices charged they should not be at the back of a kitchen with the lack of depth and creativity the menu had.

Wat een super leuk restaurant! Klein maar oh zo’n leuk terras en leuk personeel. Super gastvrij allemaal. Daarnaast is een hondje ook welkom. Absoluut een leuk menukaart en een top wijnkaart. Heerlijk en genoten van het eten en de wijnen. Prijs-kwaliteit is heel goed.

Potted plants complement the restaurant's style beautifully. The food is also excellent! She also prepared a delicious negroni after closing time, enjoying the candlelight.
