Babbo Pinsa Romana & Wijn in Fatima

It was a successful evening. Upon arrival, we were immediately warmly welcomed by the staff. The food arrived relatively quickly and was very satisfying. The carpaccio, which they make in-house, is highly recommended. Besides the carpaccio, the Tagliata Di Manzo is also very well prepared. For dessert, I had the Tarte Tatin, which is baked in the oven—simple but delicious. All in all, it was a successful evening and definitely worth repeating.

The food was excellent. Some dishes had a price/quantity imbalance.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here, just the two of us. We had a wonderful meal, thoroughly enjoyed it, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

Good Italian food. The pizza with burrata is especially recommended. I ordered the stuffed lobster pasta, which was decent, but not very filling. My husband ordered the vegetarian lasagna: it was also delicious, but it smelled strongly of gorgonzola. I'm not a big fan of gorgonzola myself, but if you like it, you should order it. The service was also good! The atmosphere was also cozy, but we were seated in the hallway near the door, and every time it opened, it was incredibly cold... so at the beginning of our stay, we were shivering in the restaurant. Hence the 4 stars. Otherwise, the food was delicious!!

We'd always loved coming to Babbo, and we recently heard they were also starting to serve a set menu, so of course, we had to try it. It was our best choice ever! The kitchen team created some lovely and creative dishes, and the waitresses were incredibly helpful in presenting different wines to complement the delicious dishes. We've already recommended it to everyone, but now that we've tried the set menu, we want to be there every week.

The food was fantastic, and if you love Italian food, I highly recommend it! The price-quality ratio is excellent in my opinion. They use fresh ingredients and have plenty of options on the menu. I would highly recommend the pinsa buratta, although it was a bit too much for me to combine with a starter. The carpaccio was also very good! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff who were constantly busy. Varied menu and extensive wine selection. Had a delicious meal, enjoyed a glass of Scropino in between, and a scrumptious tiramisu for dessert. Highly recommended!

What a discovery! This Italian restaurant is truly a step above your average pizzeria. The menu offers surprising dishes with pure flavors; you can taste that everything is prepared with care and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy, exactly what you'd hope for when dining out. A special compliment goes to Juul, who served us wonderfully. The restaurant was packed, both inside and outside, so we had to wait a little longer between courses, but with good company, it wasn't a problem ;-). We've already made reservations for next month.

Excellent Italian restaurant, we enjoyed the Pinsa Romania. We were delighted. The only downside was the wait. Our order hadn't been taken by the server, but he returned after 30 minutes to take our orders. Unfortunately, the meat ordered for the Pinsa was no longer available. The chef came directly to offer us an alternative. It's a shame they didn't offer us a drink for the inconvenience...

The worst thing I've ever eaten in my life

Terrible restaurant!!! The food was decent, but the fish tasted sour. The service was extremely poor! We had made reservations for three people. We arrived on time, and after our main course, we couldn't order dessert because the next guests were arriving. We knew we had to leave at 7:15 PM, but it was 6:55 PM when we tried to order dessert and were told that this wasn't possible and that we might only get coffee! We often dine out, but we've never experienced anything like this before! These people don't seem to care, and hospitality and healthy entrepreneurship are simply not in their mindset. We are extremely reasonable and advise you not to visit this restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant's response shows that, in addition to correctly reporting our complaints, they also feel compelled to try to minimize them by making false statements. - We didn't order dessert because we weren't allowed to order it, even though there were still 20 minutes left in the aforementioned time slot. - We weren't offered tiramisu because we weren't allowed to order. - None of us even offered a so-called apology, as we both left simultaneously, having never experienced such poor treatment. - The above indicates that this business owner is using blatant lies to cover up his reputation, which is yet another reason not to visit this restaurant.

The food at Babbo tasted decent, but was absolutely nothing special considering the high prices. We had made a reservation, but 20 minutes before our time slot ended, we were told that dessert was unfortunately no longer available. We were told that "coffee might still be available." No thanks! We'd never experienced anything like this before. Extremely poor service! Overpriced. Further comment after the restaurant's comments: It's a great shame that the restaurant still can't recognize their mistakes and responds with various untruths, which don't reflect our experience. This is very unfortunate, but not surprising—completely in line with the poor service we experienced in the restaurant. "You wanted to order a tarte tatin at 7:00 PM." This is incorrect. It was 6:55 PM (20 minutes before the end of the time slot), and we asked for the dessert menu, which we didn't receive. So I never indicated that I wanted to order a tarte tatin. I didn't even see the menu! "We kindly offered you other options, such as tiramisu, etc." This is also incorrect. We weren't even offered the dessert menu. This was never communicated. If this were true, it would indeed have been a good solution. Unfortunately, in our case, we didn't even receive the menu. "Interestingly, someone in your party briefly whispered an apology when we left, after you yourself had left the restaurant in a rage. That speaks volumes." This is incorrect. No one said this; the entire group left the restaurant together in indignation. "You also say you were served 'pickled fish,' which is certainly correct because the anchovies on the pinsa piccante are pickled anchovies, as stated on the menu!" The menu states the following (see website): "PICCANTE: Mozzarella, tomato sauce, spicy salami, 'Nduja (spicy meat), lemon zest, black olives, and anchovies." There's no mention of pickled anchovies here. Perhaps you should take another look at your own menu on the website? See the attached photo. "It's therefore disappointing that two unjustified reviews were subsequently posted via a newly created account." I've had this account for years. How did you get that it's a newly created account? Two people from the group posted a review. What's disappointing is that instead of admitting the mistake, the customer is being attacked and blamed.

The food at Babbo is so delicious! You can just tell they put a lot of care and attention into everything. The wines are also a perfect pairing, making it even more enjoyable to dine together. I work here as a waitress, but honestly, I also love coming here for food and drinks when I'm off work. It feels like a mini getaway every time. Highly recommended!

The service and quality was top. The staff was great and smiling. We even had the owner come to our table and talk to us. Seemed that all the guests were happy. The staff was engaging and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. I'll recommend this place anytime and would definitely visit it regularly if I was a local resident. If you visit Tilburg, this is definitely a place you must visit 🙌

We've been to Italy several times and have had wonderful meals in a fantastic atmosphere. This restaurant gives you exactly that feeling and perhaps even more. Fantastic food with service that many restaurants could learn a thing or two from – truly superb! In short, make a reservation, and you're guaranteed a wonderful afternoon/evening.

Saturday evening, five of us had a wonderful evening at Babbo. We used to come regularly, but it had been a while since we'd been there (for no reason). We received a very warm welcome and were given a nice table. There were many new faces on the team, but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Respect to the kitchen staff, as it was very busy and we didn't feel like we had to wait too long for our food. Voor het eerst hier een hapje gaan eten. Niet de zoveelste pizzeria maar hele andere gerechten. We hebben hier geweldig lekker gegeten. Sfeervol restaurant, niet te groot maar gewoon gezellig. Buiten nog een terrasje deels overdekt. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Visited this place with two others, based on a friend’s recommendation. Sadly, it didn’t meet expectations. We were seated outside on the terrace, and although the atmosphere was cozy (even in the rain), the experience fell short in almost every other way. Service was extremely slow — we had to wait ages just to be noticed and served. Normally, I’d walk out at that point, but this time we decided to stick around (not that we had much choice). We sat down at 18.50 and didn’t get our main course until 20:45. Staff said they were short-staffed in the kitchen, but then... don’t seat so many people. Guests who arrived after us were served long before we were. The food? Overpriced and underwhelming. €18.50 for a plain carpaccio — just meat, cheese, oil, and rucola, with zero presentation. The lasagna was overcooked, and oddly, it looked like someone had dumped half a jar of plain tomato sugo on top. Very strange. I probably should’ve gone for the pinsa — it is in the name of the place, after all... Total bill: €140 for three people. The pinsa, wine, and salad were decent, but not enough to justify a return visit.

Recently ate here for the first time. It was delicious. The house wine paired nicely with our dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to eating here again.

A top-notch addition to the Tilburg dining scene, near Piushaven. High-quality food at a truly reasonable price, and a very extensive wine list. Definitely recommended if you're looking for authentic yet trendy Italian food at a more upscale yet accessible level.

Wat een ambiance, heerlijk op het gemak gegeten. Aangezien ik bij een eerste bezoek aan een Italiaan altijd ga voor de Ossobuco ook hier de keuze gemaakt om deze te nemen. Een heerlijke op smaak gemaakte schenkel in een heerlijke tomatensaus, ook prettig dat je de spaghetti op een apart bord geserveerd krijgt. Het vlees was zoals ik het noem beetgaar, hij had wat mij betreft iets langer mogen op staan. De eigenaar Marcel van Look kwam aan tafel omdat ik de gaarheid net niet goed genoeg vond, wel vergeten te vragen of de schenkel sousvide was bereid of traditioneel. Maar ik ga zeker binnenkort terug want ik had een zeer geslaagde avond. En ik weet nu ook wat ik bij mijn nieuwe reservering moet schrijven als opmerking ;-) dankjewel Marcel en staf.

We had a reservation for 8:15 pm and were seated quickly, but after that... things took their time. No menus until 9:00 pm, drinks around 9:15 pm. Fortunately, the food (pasta and pizza) arrived fairly quickly. It was good, but nothing memorable. The most frustrating thing: after finishing our plates, we waited almost half an hour before anyone came to take care of them or offer us dessert. A special mention, however, goes to the server, who was very friendly and helpful, even if he forgot about us a bit at times. Let's just say it was an off night for the team... too bad, it was our fault. Maybe better another day.

Wat een super leuk restaurant! Klein maar oh zo’n leuk terras en leuk personeel. Super gastvrij allemaal. Daarnaast is een hondje ook welkom. Absoluut een leuk menukaart en een top wijnkaart. Heerlijk en genoten van het eten en de wijnen. Prijs-kwaliteit is heel goed.

We came into this restaurant expecting a traditional, good Italian cuisine based on the reviews we had seen. Yet, we were faced with poorly seasoned, bland dishes and long waits. While the atmosphere was quaint and expectations were high, just like the prices, the halibut had undercooked, outright raw potatoes with a basic roasted pea and kale combo that added little to no complexity to the dish other than increase our desire for any sort of seasoning. Whilst the halibut itself was cooked very well, the rest of the dish failed to capture our attention. It became notable that the expertise of the chef would be in question from the frittata we received at the beginning of the evening. Instead of the rich yet simple dish frittatas are, we received a soggy Philadelphia sandwich which completely missed the mark. Needless to say it was incredibly disappointing off the bat. The sword fish carpaccio was actually well put together considering it is merely a raw cut of fish, and the orange was a good complement, though the dish left much to be desired. It was desperately still thirsting for anything, anyone could come up with. The lobster tortellini seemed to be the popular option for the night, also recommended by staff. Upon arrival, aside from already being visually underwhelming, the dish was heavily masked by the thick tortellini dough with little to no flavor of the lobster coming through. Unfortunately the dish itself was so shallow that there isn’t much else to say about it. To end the night, after waiting 45 minutes per dish, for the starters and the main individually, we were finally met with a “short” 20 minute wait for the dessert. The tiramisu was satisfying and well made, making us atleast somewhat satisfied for the night. Leaving the restaurant, one walks away feeling somewhat satisfied with the money and time put towards the experience considering the quality of service, food, and complexity yet the recurring consensus we received at Babbo is that, whilst the chef would be able to cook me a weekday dinner, for the prices charged they should not be at the back of a kitchen with the lack of depth and creativity the menu had.

It's great to see that the staff really cares about the products they use, from plants to wine. The abundance of greenery on the patio also creates the perfect patio atmosphere. Potted plants complement the restaurant's style beautifully. The food is also excellent! She also prepared a delicious negroni after closing time, enjoying the candlelight.

I had a great meal, you have a lot of choice in starters so we shared everything. And the main course was really excellent. We will definitely come back more often.

Expensive place, bad experience. We have been there with couple of people and a little Sausage dog. We were informed that we the pets were not allowed inside. 30 minutes after our arrival, a Dutch group came, and they directly sit inside with their huge, mountain dog (Saint Bernard). Similar to other experiences in the comments, they didn’t allow us to bring our friend’s small dog, as we were “foreigners”. As a person coming from Italy, I am deeply disappointed by their so called Italian food. Their name “babbo” is in Tuscan dialect, and they claim to make cibo Romano? Make up your mind. Then my carbonara (supposedly a typical dish from Roma) was a disaster. The egg wasn’t mixed well, the souse was wet, not creamy! Then guanciale was completely burned. Their pinsa is also a joke, that dish is not typical italian. It is not a main dish, as tho they serve such. Even tho we had a reservation at 5pm, we waited more than hour to receive our food. Of course Dutch tables got their orders before us, even tho they came after us.

Was very good. Good explanation and staff that really enjoys it. Be careful if you take the specialty as a starter. That platter is great but also very much. Oysters good. Actually everything. Worth repeating. Not cheap but you know that in advance.

For years we have been coming to Babbo regularly for dinner. It is always very cozy and more importantly; the food is great. I can always enjoy their vitello tonato and the delicious pinsa's. For years the best restaurant in Tilburg!

Reserved and received the message that we could use the table for two hours. So okay. This is reported again upon arrival. Okay. This is reported again upon ordering. Okay. This is reported again upon serving the first course. Okay. This is reported again upon clearing. Okay. This is reported again upon serving the main course. Okay. When clearing, the question was “do you want another dessert?” to which I asked, is there still time for that? “yes” Dessert is served after a long time with the request “quickly slide in, pay, grab your coat and get lost because the next ones are waiting. In my opinion not very nice because you want the turnover but the customer can't enjoy it. Not very nice but then I got angry because I chose those two hours, asked if I could still have dessert. This visit was a very disappointing experience for me especially considering that I was with friends who I had recommended this restaurant to. Tip don't offer dessert because I understood that because I have already heard more than five times that we could use the table for two hours which in reality was only 1 3/4 hours. The ice cream or dessert would then have been consumed elsewhere at an ice cream parlor or something. Won't make any difference but I haven't been there for at least a year now and I spend my money where we are treated properly and honestly.

Wat een heerlijke plek. Lekker knus, heerlijk echt goed bereid eten met mooie producten. Ontzettend klantvriendelijk bediening. We komen hier regelmatig met onze kinderen van 4 en 6. Gaan dan wel heel vroeg, en het is zo mooi om te zien hoe de bediening ook contact met hun maakt en oog voor ze heeft. De bediening weet ook alles van de gerechten, proeft deze ook zelf en dat merk je. Ze vertellen er vol passie over en kunnen goed adviseren. Absolute aanrader, maar ik hoop nog wel dat het ook een beetje een verborgen pareltje blijft!!

We had dinner at Babbo yesterday, we had made a reservation at 5 p.m. and the reservation confirmation stated that we had to leave the table at 6:45 p.m. But if you only get your starter at 6 p.m., it is quite difficult to eat 3 courses in 45 minutes! An hour of waiting is quite a long time in an atmosphere where only 1 table was occupied at the time of arrival. The main course was very small so we also wanted a dessert. We were therefore asked if we wanted dessert if we wanted to sit outside. Now luckily the weather allowed it, but if they hadn't made us wait so long we could have just eaten it at our table. The starter and dessert were tasty, but we expected more from the main course, given the price!

Nice little Italian restaurant. Food prepared with attention to detail and taste. Great wines. Friendly staff. Only downside is the acoustics inside, which is really bad if the restaurant is crowded.

We hebben hier op een donderdagavond heerlijk gegeten. Restaurant was eigenlijk vol. Maar om 8 uur konden we nog een plekje bemachtigen. Heerlijk crostini met eendenlever. Zag er fantastisch uit. Lekker pinches. Carpaccio was zo ontzettend mals. De lekkerste die ik ooiit gegeten heb. Heer.ijke spahetti aiolilo.

When we first arrived, we were told that they don't accept walk-ins without a reservation. So, we made a reservation by phone, and then the waiter walked away with a negative expression on her face. After five minutes, she came back, during which time 4-5 tables were empty, yet we were left standing. When she returned, still with a sour expression, we were told to sit at a specific table. We waited for 25 minutes to get a menu, and only after asking for it were we finally handed one. One of my friends has a significant following on social media, and we shared a story about our experience. After that, they came over to apologize and even tried to offer us complimentary items. The chef also came to ask if we had any special requests. I can’t help but wonder, do you only cater to Dutch customers? And would we have received the same polite treatment if my friend didn’t have such a large following? As for the food, I had read that their pizza was the best in the city; however, it was extremely dry, and I didn’t enjoy it at all. I definitely won’t be returning and absolutely do not recommend this place.

I had heard all kinds of positive reports about this restaurant through the grapevine. And tonight it turned out to be right. Delicious food, there are very nice dishes on the menu! And nice wine. But what is especially striking is the friendly staff. There were 3 or 4 girls walking around and they really got it. Super friendly and thoughtful! You don't often come across that anymore, but here you do. All the more reason for me to go here again!

Very nice staff. Was here with my 7-year-old daughter. But the restaurant is not suitable for children. That makes the assessment slightly more negative. This Italian does not serve pizzas but rather flat bread with pizza toppings. Nice prices.

We had a delicious meal here. The duck breast starter in particular was really excellent. The service and atmosphere were good and nothing to complain about. If we were from around here we would definitely come back here more often. Highly recommended.

We were surprised by this Italian pearl in Tilburg. The food was excellent. We recommend the pizza/Pinsa with sourdough base, Raviola Veal Cheek and Ossobuco. It was quite busy on a Sunday evening and therefore it took quite a while. With children I would only order a main course.

The good reviews led us there spontaneously and we were not disappointed... Thank you for the lovely and delicious evening - there was one thing we couldn't notice in particular: not enough toppings, as other reviews said... The pinsas were very well topped, tasted very good, we were completely satisfied.

Heerlijk gegeten! Alles was lekker vers gemaakt voor een gangbare prijs. De bediening was super. Goede adviezen voor bijpassende wijnen. Wij komen zeker een keer terug!

My friend and I recently enjoyed an evening at this charming Italian restaurant and it was a fantastic experience. What immediately struck us was the excellent service, something you don't find everywhere these days. The employees really did their best to give us the most pleasant evening possible. Of particular note was a waitress who studies journalism. Her kindness and genuine interest made our dinner even more special. She asked us questions and showed real interest in our stories, which made the experience very personal and warm. And then the food: delicious pizzas! Every bite was a pleasure. The flavors were perfectly balanced and it was clear that a lot of attention and love had gone into the preparation. Overall, a great evening with delicious food and exceptional service. This restaurant is highly recommended for anyone looking for a pleasant, personal culinary experience. We will definitely come back!
