Very nice, then a shock. Unbelievable, €9.25 for a glass of white wine, Pinot Grigio, and two Duvels, pffffff. Spread the word.

We came here with our dog and had a delicious frozen cappuccino. The service was incredibly friendly; the dog even got a biscuit. There's plenty of space between the chairs and tables, so you don't have to squeeze in. Prices are good, food is a bit pricey, but we only had drinks.

We were served by Michal, who was very friendly and proactive. We had an excellent meal on a charming terrace. We will definitely come back.

The food used to be tastier. The tables were dirty and dusty, and there were cobwebs on the napkins. I think more attention should be paid to hygiene and cleaning.

Had a fantastic meal. Dedicated owner and service. Fantastic dishes such as the Burrata stracciatella and fantastic mussels. We went for the atmosphere on the beach ourselves, but unfortunately, due to the cold, we ended up sitting inside.

On a hot summer day, we had lunch and drinks with wine and cocktails. When I asked for a glass of water, I was told to order Spa Blue. I mentioned that I also needed to take my medication. I was given a small glass with a layer of water about a centimeter deep. I couldn't swallow my pills with that. I finished my cocktail and we left. We actually wanted to have dinner as well, but we spent our money elsewhere; this is absolutely not a situation where I feel appreciated as a guest.

Delicious fresh apple pie! Friendly staff, we were allowed to sit anywhere on the terrace, even though it was closed. In short, for delicious apple pie and great service, this is highly recommended.

Last Thursday, we met at SAUS in Bergen op Zoom for our 50th wedding anniversary for a pre-dinner reception followed by a dinner with 21 people. A warm welcome from the owner's wife; you feel welcome right away. Afterwards, nothing but praise for what was offered: delicious appetizers and an extensive and excellent dinner, a pleasant ambiance, atmosphere, and great service. The extras the owner brings throughout the evening are also a nice addition, and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommended for such an occasion; it absolutely surprised us positively, and we look back on it with great pleasure. SUPER, thanks Frank and your team.

What a great place, exceptionally attentive staff and a fantastic location where you can also park easily.

We went there for dinner as a couple. For the ambiance and the fact that we were practically sitting in a storage room, it was simply too expensive. My girlfriend's medium-sized salmon fillet with a few crabs and some vegetables, without any side dishes, felt overpriced at €35. A small beer for €6.50? Not for me, unfortunately. In total, we spent €90 there, were reasonably full, but somehow didn't quite know what we'd spent it on. The service was good, but again, not worth €90.

Nice restaurant. At first glance, it looks like a beach bar, but it doesn't deserve enough credit.. We really enjoyed the food! The location is very beautiful, and the service is good. The selection on the menu is also fine. Prices are a bit on the high side (we spent 250 euros for 2 adults and 2 children's menus), but they are proportionate to what you get. I would definitely go back next time.

Dinner with my wife at Saus tonight. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. A small menu which ensures the dishes are excellent, and the wine was delicious. The service was excellent and the location is very beautiful.

Excellent! I had a bite and a drink here with my girlfriends and we had an amazing time. The place itself has a super nice and cozy atmosphere, and the staff and the owner make the experience complete. Truly a place where you feel welcome immediately and will definitely come back again!

Reserved for dinner. After our first drink, we had to ask for the menu ourselves. The steak tartare was excellent; there is nothing to fault there. The surf & turf, on the other hand, was quite disappointing. We were not asked how we wanted our chateaubriand cooked, and it was ultimately served medium-well (virtually grey). After my complaint, the dish was politely taken back and I received a new one. Unfortunately, the prawns in the new dish appeared to have been reheated or something similar, as they were bone dry. A total bill of €240, of which €55 was for a surf & turf where basically everything went wrong, while I still didn't end up having a proper meal. Very unfortunate, especially for such a beautifully situated and cozy establishment. The service, however, was fine.

Reserved for 11 people. And rightly so, the restaurant was packed. The service couldn't handle it at all and was rude and unfriendly. After an hour and a half (some people from our family had already gone home because of the children), the food was finally served, many of which had cooled down. For the price you pay at this restaurant, you really expect much more!! This isn't the first time we've been disappointed at SAUS. (The location was just great for watching the solar eclipse). They won't see us there again!

Dont know about the food. Great pina coladas, of the 3 i got, 2 where with Ice and they were great! Good and friendly service, even though we got confused of pizza the huts intentions of buying us a drink. We will be back again for more drinks!

What a fantastic feeling we came away from our visit to SAUS-aan ‘t water in Bergen op Zoom! From the very first moment, we were welcomed incredibly warmly and friendly by the owner. We were given a lovely spot in the shade under the large, luxurious stretch tent where a nice breeze was blowing, and the pleasant background music—nice for the atmosphere, but just soft enough to be able to hear each other clearly—made it complete. Our host Willem made the experience truly complete. He was super friendly and sensed exactly when we wanted new drinks—right on time, not too fast and not too slow. What was extra nice is that he remembered our names and offered good, smart drink recommendations. From the delicious wines and the scropino to the perfect mojito: everything was spot on. The price-quality ratio here is absolutely top-notch. This wasn't just a simple bite to eat, but a truly total experience. A well-deserved 10/10 and, for us, the perfect, cozy conclusion to our family weekend. We will definitely be back here again!

The service deserves special mention. My wallet, containing money, cards, and official documents, fell out of my chair without me noticing. I'd already searched for it in the car at the hotel. Then I received a call on my cell phone from attentive staff. They informed me that my wallet had been found. I quickly went back to the restaurant. An extremely friendly person, I think it was the owner, returned my wallet with all its contents. I asked how they had found my cell phone number. I had a business card inside, and my number was written on it. The way they treat guests at this establishment is outstanding and deserves nothing but praise.

We spontaneously decided to visit Bergen op Zoom and were looking for a restaurant by the water. Saus caught our eye with its charmingly decorated terrace. It was very inviting from the outside. At the entrance, we were greeted by the owner, who showed us to a wonderfully shady and comfortable spot in the midday sun. Nowhere are the fries tastier. The croquettes are heavenly, and the fried egg (unfortunately only tasted one bite) was so delicious… nice young girls who do their best. The only downside was that they came to clear up while we were still snacking on the leftovers..

At Saus, you feel just like the Pope. Having a drink with your friends after a dip in the water has never been so amazing. The service was enthusiastic, and the cocktails and mocktails were world-class. And speaking of the atmosphere: as soon as you step inside, you are no longer just an ordinary guest, but become a true Bonbinian. As if that wasn't enough pampering, we also got free bitterballen. Crispy, piping hot, and disappeared faster than the balance in our bank account after a night out. Saus aan’t water is the ultimate hotspot. We are guaranteed to be back here soon to splash and drink!

We just had to visit this place and we thought it was a cool spot with good service, mostly young people; the owner was also very attentive and quite funny. He also asked if everything was to our liking and what we ate was certainly tasty. The tuna pokey and the other salmon one were fresh and flavorful. The drinks were served quite quickly! Which is a plus at 30*. Afterwards, we took a seat by the water's edge and were served quite well there too... thanks to the waiters! This place is definitely recommended and to be continued.

Went to eat at De Saus for the first time today and had a super delicious meal, nothing to complain about. But the prices were quite steep; €9.75 for a piece of bread on the table or €8.25 for the house wine is definitely on the pricey side.

The snacks were good, the atmosphere was fantastic, the servers were friendly & fast and the owners were hospitable & fun. 11/10 recommend for anyone that wants a nice and chill time.

On June 20, 2026, we celebrated our wedding at Saus. In the run-up to our wedding, we spoke with Max, the owner, several times about our wishes, and those conversations were always pleasant and friendly. The location is, of course, fantastic, right on the beach and by the water. It resulted in beautiful photos, and the children were able to entertain themselves in the water for hours after the ceremony. The day itself was fantastic. Everything was arranged down to the last detail. The staff was professional, polite, friendly, and helpful where necessary. The food was truly outstanding; even those who need to eat gluten-free were well catered for. Tasty fries with a snack were prepared for the children. We really enjoyed ourselves!
