The food might be authentic, but the service wasn't. This is the first time I've experienced racism during my trip. They didn't come to take my order, lol. It seemed like they were understaffed; they shouldn't skimp on labor costs and should hire more people.

Very disappointing experience We came to this Korean restaurant really excited because from the outside, it looked authentic and like a place that would offer a great Korean dining experience. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. After being seated, we waited around 30 minutes just to receive the menu. Even after receiving the menu, nobody came to take our order. We continued waiting and trying to get the staff’s attention, but it felt like we were being ignored. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was seeing another group arrive after us and receive their food before we had even been able to place our order. The staff seemed to avoid eye contact with us, which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. In total, we spent almost two hours just trying to complete our order. For a restaurant we were genuinely excited to visit, this was incredibly frustrating. I honestly cannot say for certain why we were treated this way, but as Asian customers ourselves, we couldn’t help but wonder whether our ethnicity played a role in how we were treated. I sincerely hope that wasn’t the case, but the way the situation unfolded left us with that impression. The food may be authentic, but good food alone isn’t enough. Basic communication, attention, and respect for customers are equally important. Very disappointing experience, and unfortunately, we would not return.

This lovely couple will take care of you and make you feel at home. Very cozy vibes and the food is AMAZING! For a very cheap price too! Absolutely a must go to in The Hague!

We checked the opening hours beforehand and were told it was open until 10 PM. However, when we arrived at 6 PM, the restaurant was closed. Even though the website stated it was open as usual on Tuesdays, my advice is that anyone planning to visit for dinner should call the restaurant to double-check the opening hours.

Had a great experience here! So when I was scrolling TikTok, I came across this place. It turns out that if you eat here, you have to make a reservation with the restaurant owner, Harabuji. If you don't, you won't get a seat. Reservations must be made well in advance because it's guaranteed to be fully booked. We ordered various menus and were surprised that they were all delicious. This is non-halal because it does contain pork. If you come here, it's better to pay in cash, because if you go cashless, you have to transfer to Harabuji's bank account. The price is very affordable for the all menu. If you like korean food, you should come here. Don’t forget to call for the reservation!

The Korean food was good, but nothing to write home about. The welcome was cold, focused more on profit than a smile. The bill was barely legible. And worst of all, they couldn't pay by credit card, only cash or bank transfer. Unacceptable and nowhere mentioned upon entering. Avoid at all costs.

Pretty bad experience. They accept more reservations than what they can accommodate. We had an early reservation. Around 45 minutes in and while still eating, they asked us to leave soon, as there were people waiting. The food was decent, although some meat still was a bit frozen. Quite noisy too. To pay, they handed us a badly written note with mistakes, and a bank account to make them a transfer (?). Will not return.

They accept only bank transfers and cash and no credit card, which is very alarming. Quality of the food procedurally went lower and lower with everytime I went there for a dinner. Fewer sides everytime because they want to save money overall awful experience.

What an authentic experience! The restaurant was packed. They really go out of their way to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. The food was delicious. The best kimchi I've ever had. The staff speaks some English. The gentleman is great. He has a great sense of humor. We had a delicious BBQ. Bulgogi and bacon. Bibimbap from a hot pot. And a beer. We'll definitely be back.

As a tourist, I feel cheated. The menu clearly stated that Korean pancakes and soup are included in the price, both were conveniently “forgotten” and omitted under the guise of a busy operation. 21 € per person is not a good deal. Honestly, there’s kind of a family-like atmosphere, lots of Asian and local customers, making it seem like a bustling hotspot that only locals know how to find. The rice was cold and flavorless and served in very small portions. Had to ask for more. The meat for the barbecue was good. The place is not very clean—a hole in the ceiling, old tainted walls and ceiling, probably due to the smoke from the barbecues (lacks proper ventilation). The man running it is polite and elderly, adding to the charm. But cheating is cheating and I suspect they knew what they were doing but because of the busy factor plus tourist factor, money, not service or the love of gastronomy, is their only driving force. We had a reservation. The table was not ready. And it took over an hour for our order to be taken. Asked for more water, never got it. Only paid bottle water is proposed. One of the menus they handed us was empty without pages inside. 2 menus for 5. Service deplorable. Cash only operation. 115€ for 5. The crowds and high demand make it seem better than it really is. This is my honest observation.

Real original Korean BBQ, not the modern type. Love the place! But be sure to not wear your newest clothes, due to the BBQ your clothes will smell after eating there. Don't get me wrong, it is not a complaint, it is part of the experience!

Honestly, my love affair with Korean Food originated from this place. I've tried many Korean BBQ places over the years - but nothing gets up there flavour wise as Seoul Garden in the Hague. I still fondly remember one of the owners (I think) explaining all the different banchan for me and encouraging me as I struggled with eating with chopsticks for the first time. This was somewhere around the 2010's so I am extremely happy to see this place still thriving in a sea of all-you-can-eat-bbq restaurants popping up. 🥰 Seoul Garden! 파이팅!

No point in making a reservation. We reserved, came in at the correct time, had to wait with 0 explanation for 30 minutes, people without a reservation RIGHT before us got seated, along with several other parties - the owner quite literally went past us to a group of people waiting without reservation, and said a table "freed up". Got told "one moment" after inquiring about the reservation and no interaction otherwise. The food better be heavenly to tolerate standing in a tiny, grimy hallway with no interaction whatsoever, apart from being rudely cut off by a waitress at some point while the owner writes receipts entirely by hand. It's like the owners read about this novel thing called "reservation" that other restaurants have, and thought, we should have one of those so people come, and then say we're out of stock if they ask. Went somewhere else to eat in the end. They clearly get enough clients to afford this attitude towards people, which is a shame all around. The ceiling also looked like it's seen a lot of things in its time and could tell a lot of stories, but definitely not stories about soap or being cleaned.

They really have issues with their reservation system. Yesterday at 6:44 I called to book a table for Friday at 6:30. They told me it was fully booked but that we could come at 8. Today when we arrived at 8, we had to wait until 8:30, only to be told that our names were not on the list and that we could only be added to the waiting list. No one mentioned this on the phone yesterday. What felt most unfair was that after us, a group of five people came in without any reservation. The same group even asked us, “Do you have a reservation?” and when we said yes, they laughed and wondered out loud how reservations are even made here. Yet they were seated immediately, while we were left waiting. The food might be good, I honestly don’t know, but after such treatment, I don’t think I would want to come back.

We've had BBQ many times, but this one was truly fantastic. Recommendation: number 4 – absolutely a must-have, super delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a line, but thanks to our reservation, we were able to get in right away. Most importantly: the food was simply a masterpiece.

Such a hidden gem! The owner is already 89 which is amazing. No cards here, only cash or transfer, but the food makes up for it. The banchan were all super tasty and the meat was seasoned just right. You can really feel they cook with heart. Loved it!

Beef Bulgogi is a must-try! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, service is quick, and the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I absolutely loved the experience and will definitely be coming back. One tip: make sure to reserve a table in advance!

It had been on my list for a while and today was the day; luckily I had a reservation, which is necessary because I don't think it will work without one anymore. At five-thirty the place was packed, all tables occupied. Service wasn't lightning fast, but that's not supposed to happen here either; the old timers (84 !!!!!!) are being served by the younger generation, and the tables and chairs look like they came straight from the 70s. We had bulgogi and bulgogi chicken, super tender, and delicious side dishes. Everything here is really delicious and quite spicy, but oh so tasty. I will definitely be coming back here. And then the bill, you don't come across that anymore. Oh yes, cash payment, no card payment option.

The food (BBQ marinated dishes) was absolutely awesome and tasted genuinely Korean. The service was on a different level and while I can appreciate a certain level of stoicism, at points we just felt unwelcome. The fact we had to pay double for a dish we were served only once (which we kinda solved by factoring it in with the tip) sealed the deal.

Delicious food at a very affordable price. The staff is very friendly, but the service could be a bit faster. Everything is still very old-fashioned on paper, which makes the service a bit slow. We had a reservation and still had to wait. However, this adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant and gives it an authentic feel. I recommend bringing cash, otherwise you'll have to transfer it to their account (there are no card options).

This place is quite literally a hidden gem tucked away in an alley way in the heart of Den Haag. From the outside, it may not be much of a looker and when you step in, you are transported back to your grandparents house - giving it a real nostalgic feel. The food, “Oh. My. Days.” It is super delicious. Let me paint a picture: you walk in, unsure about where you but you see a lot of people and a small queue forming. You’re with friends so it’s all good. When the menu comes, you go for the classic bulgogi, bibimbap and meutang (fish stew with tofu). Small dishes of vegetables are served and the kimchi is immediately devoured because it’s so deliciously good, that you’re having to order extra. A portable fire stove is brought with a shiny cover for your bulgogi. Carefully, you place the meat on the top and you hear the satisfying sizzle. The thin, slivers of meat cooks quickly and you soon wrap it in a lettuce leaf with kimchi. After you take the first bite, flavours explode in your mouth that I can’t even describe- utterly amazing! The marinade on the meat is just heavenly. This is certainly my top Korean place for dinner so far!

My partner and I love this place! We have visited 8 times by now and every time the service and the food is amazing! Finally a place where we can enjoy tasty food. Each time we have guests over we bring them here. Indeed sometimes you have to wait to be seated ,even if you have a reservation, but it’s worth the wait. And once you are seated the service is extremely fast. PS: the kimchi is to die for.

We eten met een eetclubje meestal op voor ons nieuwe plekje en voedsel. Aangezien we hier nog nooit gegeten hadden was het de eerste keer. Reserveren alleen via een o6 nummer, Binnen gekomen zagen we dat het een soort huiskamer was met volgens mij 7 tafels. De kaart hebben we gelezen, en besloten de BBQ op tafel te doen. We waren met zijn 5ven dus hebben we de 5 verschillende hoofdschotels genomen, en met zijn 5 elke keer iets van de schotels genomen. Na dit te hebben gegeten hebben we afgerekend, je kreeg een kaartje en je moest de rekening overmaken naar een rekening nummer. 140 eu waren we kwijt met 5 mensen en twee drankjes pp, geen nagerecht want ze hadden alleen ijsbolletje. We hebben lekker gegeten, maar zaten niet vol. ( volgende keer 2 schotels extra erbij bestellen) Daarna op het plein nog koffie en wat erbij genomen en toen zaten we lekker gevuld. Het is een leuke entourage, jaren 70 look, oude vriendelijke eigenaar, zat vol met eters, gewoon weer iets anders dan normaal.

The ambience was great. It feels like eating in grandma’s house. The beef taste good, but there weren’t many food variations. They only serve the traditional Korean foods, so if you’re looking for the modern one like crispy chicken with various sauces, this is not the place.

The barbecue and the meats were the best thing I ever ate and the atmosphere was soooo good I actually thought I was in Asia. I was really happy to come again. The best restaurant I have went.

The worst service I have ever experienced in a Korean restaurant, worldwide. 1. There was no notice that only cash payments were accepted. The staff member who took the order also never mentioned this in advance, but at the time of payment, cash was required. 2. When I explained that, as a traveler, I didn’t have a Dutch bank account, they asked where I was staying and suggested I walk to the hotel (20–30 minutes) to exchange money, completely ignoring the unfavorable exchange rates at hotels. While sitting at the table and trying to transfer money via phone to a card that allowed cash withdrawals, the staff member came over to check on the progress only after a short delay. 3. All receipts are handwritten. This process takes a lot of time, and they seem unaware of how long it actually takes. For the two or three tables ahead of us that requested their bills, it took about 20 minutes after the request before they received them. 4. When we asked for an update about 10 minutes after requesting the bill, another staff member rudely dismissed us instead of apologizing, saying the other tables were still waiting. 5. The dishes were not served simultaneously. After one person in our group received their dish, it took another 15–20 minutes for the next dish for the other person to arrive. When we asked the Korean-speaking female staff member to check on the food, she didn’t even offer a single word of apology. 6. The kimchi was too sour, it tasted like alcohol. 7. The kimchi-jjigae contained almost no pork, but only two small pieces of pork belly, about the size of a finger, for a price of around 17 euros. 8. The ceiling appeared not to have been cleaned for decades, with a thick layer of grease and a yellowish color as a result.

It was very tasty and the staff were very nice.

I will write the negative aspects first - I think it's a family business with insufficient language skills, we had to struggle a bit to ask for a meatless option - The service is very slow, even bringing the menu takes 5-10 minutes. There was only one young boy working for a Saturday night. The lady who looks after the service and the kitchen is having a hard time. - We waited 10 minutes to pay the bill and he said credit cards were not accepted and he was not sure when making the bill. - There is smoke because of those who turn the grill on too high. This is uncomfortable because the place is small. As for the good aspects: - It's a very traditional place, the menu is nice - Prices are affordable - Meats, side vegetables Korean flavors are good - You are eating in a truly traditional place

As a person who has lived in Korea for five months, this BBQ is the closest you’re going to get to the atmosphere and taste of Korean BBQs in The Netherlands. I really felt as if I’m back, it’s so cozy and delicious! Also much cheaper than other BBQs I’ve been to in the Netherlands!

My daughter lived in South Korea for a while. This is her favorite Korean restaurants in the Netherlands! It is real Korean food according to traditional recipe and preparation. The food is really good and very affordable! Don't expect a fancy restaurant because you will be disappointed. But that shouldn't spoil the fun. It's casual and cozy... As if you're in a (dated) living room. And the owner (now 87 years old!) is really nice. It remains a special experience every time.

If you can appreciate that a 90 year old man and 80 year old woman still want to give you a great Korean experience, and you have the patience and flexibility to do so. Then this is a great place for you. If you are in a hurry, want to be treated like a princess or can't stand mistakes, book somewhere else.

Aunque teníamos una reserva nos dejaron parados 15 minutos sin que nadie nos mirara o explicara lo que estaba pasando. Después de sentarme finalmente pedí un bimbimbap y mi marido y mi hija bugolgi. Me sirvieron inmediatamente, pero mi bimbimbap apenas estaba caliente con nada del arroz crujiente que es la característica del plato. Lo devolví pero no fue mucho mejor después. Había tal vez 15 g de carne y muy pocas verduras. No venía con muchas guarniciones como es costumbre. ¡Y estaba a punto de terminar cuando se sirvió el bugolgi! No nos cobraron por mi plato, pero francamente hubiera preferido pagar por una buena cena! En el lado positivo la carne a la parrilla estaba sabrosa. Así que si usted está deseando un buen bimbimbap este no es el lugar!

If you ask me, the best in The Hague when it comes to Korean BBQ. Always make a reservation because it is often full. Staff is very friendly, especially the old man who still works there. I keep coming back here!

Super authentic Korean restaurant. The bulgogi and dwejgogi are simply phenomenal. They used to have Korean beer and more side dishes, but since the article in the newspaper, unfortunately all the hipsters have descended here and the owner can hardly cope. It is often very busy, especially on weekends, when you even have to queue. But it is still a pleasure to eat here!

My favorite restaurant in the Netherlands.

The general experience was not good. The taste of the food is the highest point. For the service, even though we could see that the servers were in a bit of a hurry, the communication was a bit lacking. The environment is a bit noisy and smelly. The visuals are a bit old and not well maintained. Still, the point why I give one star, is because the menu says that every order will be given rice, vegetables, pancakes and soup. Ours only came with vegetables (quite a few to be sincere) and a small portion of rice. They told us that pancake and soup don't come anymore (and I don't know why they didn't remove it from the menu). They don't compensate for this in any way, and the price we paid was quite expensive for the small amount of food. We still had to eat after leaving the restaurant.

Het eten dat we kregen was prima. Toch een beetje een narrig gevoel. Koreaans bbq besteld met allerlei bijgerechten volgens de menukaart. Deel bijgerechten bleef weg. Juist een paar waar we als nog niet bekend met de Koreaanse keuken benieuwd naar waren. Fout gemaakt om niet direct te reclameren. Achteraf bleek dat op sommige menukaarten die bijgerechten met kleine stukjes tape waren afgeplakt (charmant onprofessioneel) maar niet op de menukaarten die wij hadden gehad. De bediening wist, vertelden ze achteraf, dat sommige menukaarten niet bijgewerkt waren maar informeerde ons daar vooraf niet over. Kregen alleen een 'sorry' als reactie na afloop. Dat vonden we niet charmant.

What a very nice restaurant. You don't expect that at all from the outside. It was packed. Understandable, because the food was very good and a very pleasant atmosphere. And the note is still being written....wow, it's been a long time since I experienced that (Suzuran). So this certainly wasn't the last time.

I've been here several times in the past 15 years. The food is authentique and always excellent. The owners and staff are very friendly. You can always ask for a free refill of the side dishes. The restaurant just looks like you stepped into a Korean home. It's usually quite full in the weekends so make sure you made your booking by phone. Don't be afraid that your clothes will smell like Korean BBQ afterwards, because it's worth! Recently they released their Korean cookbook Bijbel van de Koreaanse keuken (in Dutch) and that's by far my favorite from the series! ❤️

Do you want to taste delicious Korean food? Then you've come to the right place. The meat is wonderfully tender and you can make it fun by placing the meat (or fish) on the barbecue with your table companions while chatting. You have to create the atmosphere yourself, unless you have a guilty pleasure with dated - and not super clean - furniture and associated staff. You must be resistant to possible miscommunication. It is advisable to book in advance, it is small with limited space and quite popular, so to avoid surprises you can make a reservation by telephone. You will only find out on the spot whether this will go well. Or, like us, when you're almost done. While we were putting our last pieces of meat on the barbecue, we received a call from an older man who spoke little English and was even less intelligible. It fits perfectly with the interior, although somewhat outdated is putting it mildly. He asked where we were staying; we waved at him while we were on the phone with him. Hilarious. If you like something like that, go have a nice meal there and just enjoy the atmosphere that this restaurant creates. Don't forget to drink one or two Makgeolli, Korean rice wine, with it. Just because it's tasty.

Been to Seoul Garden for the first time, it is a small authentic restaurant with a few seats. The food was tasty. We opted for BBQ and had the beef bulgogi (marinated) and the chicken. We also ordered the Tepokki because I was always curious about the taste. It was a unique experience. However, I must say that the Koreans really use a lot of sauce haha. So always order water while eating :) In addition to the BBQ, you will also receive small side dishes such as rice, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, lettuce, potato/green beans. I also recommend the Soju during the BBQ :)

Even though I came in a bit late, I got seated and I had a great meal. Great Ambiance, Amazing service and I would take the extra effort to go here for terrific food!

Ik kom hier al sinds 2016. De eigenaar is zo aardig. Ik vind dit het beste Koreaanse restaurant tot nu toe hier in de Randstad.

I've been coming here for years. However, for a while now the owner no longer treats people who have made reservations so nicely. Even if you have made a reservation, it may take 25 minutes before it is your turn. Just be careful if you still want to go to the movies ;) Very unfortunate, that diminishes the beautiful feeling that the restaurant always had. Despite our reservation, we unfortunately had to eat at a different place :(
